It might seem a bit unspectacular, but that's a misconception. We even got a small table without having reserved one. However, this is advisable, especially in the evenings. A very warm welcome, excellent service, and delicious food. We'd love to come back! 😊

The quality and taste of the food were OK for the price. Nothing special, though. We were on the first floor. It was very loud (impossible to have a proper conversation) and the air quality was extremely bad. At one point, we were stopped being served because the table (10 people) was apparently needed. We would have liked another drink, and we weren't even asked for dessert.

The worst meal we've had in a long time. First, we had to wait over an hour for our food: chicken nuggets with fries twice and gyros with fries twice. It wasn't difficult, really. What we got after repeated inquiries were four half-filled plates. Our order of mayo and ketchup weren't even included; they arrived 10 minutes later when we asked. We even expressed our displeasure, but both servers couldn't care less. I paid 100 euros and didn't mention a tip and only got 15 euros back. Even though we had to pay 84.60, the waiter cheekily kept a 40-cent tip. Because I was so astonished by the brazen manner. Unfortunately, I only realized later that we had also paid for the espresso and packaging from the neighboring table. This shouldn't happen. Conclusion: Never again, worth only 1 cent. We were here 3 years ago and the portions were reasonable for the price, but today it was a complete disgrace.

On our last visit to Magdeburg, we stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant by chance. This time, we deliberately booked a table for five. Great ambiance, very friendly, attentive staff. And what can I say, the food was incredibly delicious. A visual and gustatory delight. We'll definitely be back.

Very well-organized Greek restaurant with delicious food, not cheap but not overpriced.

Overall, I was surprised by the very positive reviews here, which don't match my own experience. I went there with my two children, and I had pork fillet in Metaxas sauce, and my children had spaghetti with gyros in Metaxas sauce and the gyros platter. Unfortunately, my pork fillet was burnt and overall tougher than the souvlaki. I also missed any taste of salt or pepper in the meat. The Metaxas sauce, which I thought was burnt and whose main ingredient, in my opinion, was more like cream, didn't help either. I ate a third of the dish anyway. My son briefly tried the spaghetti with gyros in Metaxas sauce and said it didn't taste of anything. Of course, adults have different taste perceptions, but when this comes from a nine-year-old, I expect the employee to acknowledge this and not start arguing with me at length, only to then blame the customer. The restaurant could perhaps have resolved the situation by offering the guest an espresso or offering a concession on the bill, but neither of these options was forthcoming. Conclusion: I was disappointed with the food and, unfortunately, with the service as well. The third dish, the gyro platter, tasted okay, but unfortunately, the same was not true of the other two dishes.

The food was excellent. But we waited quite a long time for the food.

Very friendly staff, quick and attentive. Drinks and salad arrived very quickly, and the food followed soon after. All in all, a good meal. We ate a lot at the hotel for breakfast and couldn't finish the portions. I also want to write some honest criticism: Metaxa had a spice, possibly cinnamon, which we didn't like, but otherwise it was very tasty. Olympia platter is a large portion, the minced meat and souvkaki were delicious. Gyros could have been a bit crispier. Reis tasted a bit like rice pudding, also slightly sweet, not my cup of tea. Pricey but OK. The lunch menu had great prices. But, as always at Greek restaurants, I wanted a platter. Thanks for the first drink on the house. A good alternative to plain ouzo. Tip: Unfortunately, there wasn't a platter with calamari on the menu, which would have been nice.

We've been there spontaneously many times, and it was often really busy, but they still made an effort, and we've always managed to get a seat, sometimes with a few minutes of waiting time. I've known Magdeburg's famous Greek restaurant, Asteria, since I was a child. Here, you're truly treated like a guest, from the warm welcome and the delicious and plentiful food right up to the farewell. Highly recommended!

Especially at lunchtime, you can eat quickly and still well here. Drinks and dishes from the reduced lunch menu are served promptly. There are plenty of tables available both inside and outside, but reservations are recommended in the evening.

A decent restaurant, but nothing special. The food was okay. I had gyros with rice, which was overcooked. My wife had several types of fish. The salmon was good, the plaice had some bones in it, the shrimp were a bit hard, and the squid rings were okay. My son had pork, which was very good.

We went out to eat last week! My kids had the nuggets twice! Despite asking twice for mayo or ketchup, nothing came... As an apology, of course, we got a shot, which was fine... -> and what's on the bill...? Tadaaaa -> 2x ketchup and mayo... Absolutely unacceptable! The service was very nice, though they still need to work on their cooperation and better communication (especially since there was nothing going on)! Otherwise, it was very pleasant.

We were looking for a good Greek restaurant near our hotel on a whim and came across Asteria online. The restaurant was very busy on a Sunday evening and immediately made a good impression. We were seated in a friendly manner. It didn't take long for our drinks and food to be ordered and served. The food and drinks were plentiful, tasty, and freshly prepared. The staff were consistently attentive and polite. We felt welcome as guests. We highly recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, my meal was a disaster: a grilled liver that lost all its flavor; it was hard and more or less charred. My husband's meal was excellent. Still, it was worth a try.

We had reserved a table for four people. Okay, we hadn't registered our youngest because he's still too small to eat such portions. We wanted to sit outside and were given a table in the back corner in the blazing sun. When we asked if we could get a seat on the other side in the shade, we were told that everything was reserved. During our entire visit, there were several tables available... So we sat for about 1.5 hours with a toddler in the blazing sun. Okay, our mistake – we should have left. But since we're not from the area and were only visiting the city, we didn't want to search any further and risk not finding a seat anywhere.

I visited the Greek restaurant Meteora in Preußisch Oldendorf – and I was absolutely thrilled! The food was incredibly delicious. The meat was juicy and well-seasoned. The side dishes and sauces were also very tasty. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The service was very friendly and helpful. You feel truly welcome here. The restaurant is clean and comfortably furnished. It's a comfortable place to sit and feel at home, especially outside when the weather is nice. The prices are fair – you're happy to pay for such good food. I will definitely be back and highly recommend Meteora!

They speak poor German. I ordered food and they gave me different food. I don't recommend going there.

We went there today for a birthday dinner. We booked in advance, and even being late wasn't a problem. The reception was very friendly. The atmosphere is very cozy, and the benches were more than large enough, even for us plump people. The food arrived quickly. Hot, delicious, and attractively presented – simply fantastic! The server was attentive and friendly, what more could you ask for? At the end, the birthday girl received a bottle of wine, and packing up the leftover food wasn't a problem either. Conclusion: highly recommended!

The starters were really good, but the main courses just aren't my taste. Those mountains of meat are just too dry. Even tzatziki and Metaxa sauce don't help. Service seemed a bit rushed, but that's not a big deal. Drinks and food arrived quickly. One starter was forgotten and had to be refilled. Furthermore, a side dish for a main course was forgotten, but wasn't charged for either. Unfortunately, the visit didn't change my attitude toward "Greek food."

Sat in a quiet place, privacy is respected

The food was extremely greasy, the meat tasted like the cold chain had been broken for a while (which the blowflies loved, by the way), and no one came to take the cash, so we ended up going to the counter. Overall, it seemed like everything had been fried in old grease. Once and never again...

The food was delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish it all, but luckily, you can have the rest packed up to take home. The staff (service) were friendly, patient, and helpful. The ambiance looks great and is very appealing and cozy. Personally, I just think the aisles between the tables are a bit narrow.

The Asteria has a nice Greek taverna-like atmosphere. Reservation was easy by phone. The staff very attentive, quick and friendly! Conclusion: We enjoyed it and enjoyed it.

Prima gegeten op zakenreis. Eten was goed van smaak en snelle en vriendelijke bediening. Vlees was lekker gekruid en mals. De tomatensoep was wat minder van smaak. Erg romig en daardoor wat zwaar op de maag.

Ein wirklich griechisches restaurant in Magdeburg, bedient von netten Menschen und mit vielen Leckereien. Über die Sauberkeit, die Gemütlichkeit und den Vielfalt wird garantiert!

Super tasty and very friendly service

Good morning, I rarely give 5 stars because I always say there is always something better. However, what the Asteria team does here only deserves 5 stars. Spontaneously stopped in with 4 people, got a great table and was served very well. Received a welcome drink, looked at the menu which offers a lot and ordered. Despite the restaurant being full, waiting times were short. Tastes great, portion size very good. Finally, get a nightcap. Asteria, keep it up. We felt very comfortable.

We had dinner there on a Friday evening. It was very busy and the service staff had a lot to do. That's why we weren't immediately greeted at the door. When we took the initiative ourselves, we quickly got a table. The gyro was very tasty, but the side salad was very very little.

Great restaurant, excellent service, very good food! We were there for Christmas dinner and we were very satisfied, we were also happy about a little surprise when we left.

Disappointing, we had reserved a table at 5pm and the shop didn't open until 5-10 minutes later. I had gratinated gyros and there was a sparse salad that gave the impression that I had been standing in the kitchen for hours, the potato slices as a side dish, well the quantity is probably intended for children. The gyro was surprisingly tasty and not tough. The Metaxa sauce was delicious in a different way. The atmosphere was very cozy and beautifully designed. In the end, unfortunately there was no Uzo, neither before nor after.

Nothing, really nothing to complain about. We were in Magdeburg for a short trip. We ate there twice. Once at lunchtime, once in the evening. Very tasty food, short waiting time, reasonable prices, very friendly staff!

I have known the restaurant since 1995. I now live in Hamburg. When I visit family, a visit to this restaurant is a must. The service is great. Attentive and friendly. The food is as it should be. Everything fresh and delicious. The lamb dishes are particularly recommended. Keep it up!

We spontaneously visited Asteria on Saturday. The visit to the Christmas market and the weather "forced" us to... At 5 p.m. we asked for a table for two in the already busy restaurant. The friendly staff asked us to wait a moment, the boss looked at the book and said we could stay straight away. We then made a reservation for 6:30 p.m. Shortly before half-past the boss greeted us personally, addressed us directly by name and led us to our table. Small round table, cozy, perfect for 2. The restaurant invites you to linger with its Mediterranean charm. White and with tiled roofs in some areas, pure cosiness. An aperitif came with the menu, which has everything your culinary heart desires. A portion of tzatziki, a grilled sheep's cheese as a starter, a must on every "Greek" visit. The starter arrived at our table promptly and tastefully. DELICIOUS AND PERFECTLY SEASONED. For the main course there was a plate with gyros, souflaki, sousoki, tzatziki and fried potatoes (unfortunately from the deep fryer), but they still tasted good. Food was perfect, gyros were nice and crispy but still very juicy. My wife had gyros with Metaxa sauce and she also loved them. The friendly staff were never intrusive; the service was quick and routine. All in all, this Greek really has everything you could want wishes a “Greek” visit. So, off to the “best Greek” in town! We'll be back, then with our children!

We are passing through and stopped here. The food was excellent. So is the service. The store was packed, but you didn't have to wait long for anything. If we are in Magdeburg again, we know where we will go out to eat.

Spontaneously looked for a place to eat and came across this restaurant. It was very busy and after a short wait we were assigned a table. Everyone was very friendly and always with a smile. Rather inconspicuous from the outside, but very nice inside. Food was very good. Highly recommended. It's best to book a table in advance.
