Service and ambience good as always. However, Essen has declined significantly since the change in operator. Rice with a dollop of tomato sauce on it wasn't a hit... food was pretty mediocre. Gyros was very spicy… prices a bit expensive. It used to be better.

Were there for lunch with the daily menu. Food was very good and the price was reasonable.

The location is great, the atmosphere is very good, the service is good and friendly and the food is standard - nothing special, but not bad either. We liked it.

The food is great there, if you go there for lunch you can get it even cheaper. Unfortunately, drinks are too expensive there. Where you could change something would be to simply leave the spices at the table so that you don't always have to ask for them.

The “premium Greek” that the Asteria was recommended to us as could not meet expectations. The service was professional, but neither personal nor particularly attentive. The starter and main course came without any pause for breath. The food was okay, but obviously prepared and served without any passion. We were full, but fine dining is different. Conclusion: no recommendation - we know better and cheaper Greek restaurants.

Once again a place that I will not visit again. The price is quite high and the quality of the food is mediocre. My Greek restaurant in Berlin is a good 1/3 cheaper and has significantly better quality. Beer is Krombacher - okay, but boring. Before that they probably had duck stone - hence the lids - that would have comforted me better about my oversalted lamb fillet.

There is only one word: No! Where the positive reviews come from is a mystery to me. My impression in key words: Visit 08/24/24 around 1 p.m. Terrace operation. Zero table decorations. No seat cushions. No ambience. Ordered food. Bottled beer was poured into the glass by the waiter, no more carbonation. After a few moments the appetizer arrived. This half eaten main course. The waiter asked if he had to take it away again. No, leave it alone. Food hot. Taste bland and flat. Cheese not even browned. Left half on. Paid. Waiter angry because no tip. Conclusion: Never again!

A great restaurant with very tasty food. Very child-friendly and fast and friendly service staff. There were 17 of us there and everything went smoothly! We're always happy to come back!

The food didn't convince us. And especially the rice (normal rice with a dollop of tomato sauce or whatever it was supposed to be) was a joke. We have never experienced anything like this anywhere before. Then you should opt for the fries. I think that would have been the better decision in this case. The gyro was ok, but not great either. We were promised more based on the reviews.

We had our first ever Greek meal here while on an overnight stay, we were tired from travelling, but this restaurant and meal really perked us up, lovely food and very friendly staff 👍👍

So... the two of us were here for the second time and this time we were very disappointed. Predetermined reservations on the terrace, so that you were seated on the sidewalk where the table wobbled (was then corrected) so that 'special' guests could be given priority even without a reservation when they came. My husband's red wine was the same temperature as the heated street. Admittedly, the food came very quickly, but the gratinated gyro was completely salty. When it came time to pay, we were told that the EC device wasn't working. Information that would have been nice in advance. My husband was sent to the bank...it was around the corner. She wasn't. Well, broken EC device can happen... but when my husband came back completely out of breath it suddenly worked again... but no coffee on the house or a normal apology much. We were paid off and it was as if it were our problem and not the house's. Unfortunately, a nice, cozy dinner was not possible here, as you were simply dismissed to make room for the next people. The entire time we were there, the supposedly reserved terrace seats hadn't filled up and you constantly saw people sitting down without reservations who obviously knew the landlord well. Treating regular guests is all well and good, but other paying guests should not be treated with less kindness or appreciation. We certainly won't be regular guests anymore!

You can eat well here. Drinks and food arrive quickly. Everything was tasty, there is nothing to complain about here.

Der Grieche liegt in der Altstadt von Magdeburg. Wie immer sind die Speisen geschmacklich sehr gut. Nur sind im Zuge der Inflation die Portionen kleiner geworden. Der gegrillte Ziegenkäse war Dorina, das Bifteki ok. In Summe sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Fazit: Empfehlenswert, wenn auch nicht überdurchschnittlich!

Bereits zum zweiten Mal haben wir hier unser Abendessen genossen. Tisch-Reservation (vor allem an den Wochenenden) ist empfehlenswert. Die Speisen sind lecker, die Portionen grosszügig. Der Service ist zügig unterwegs und sehr freundlich.

We had ordered two seats and we were shown in the open area. Apart from the fact that we were surrounded by cigarette smoke from left and right and from behind and in front, the rest was okay. Next time we would insist on a different place.

I wanted to have lunch with my partner at short notice and the restaurant “Asteria” in the city center caught our eye. We stopped there and sat down at a table on the outside terrace. Because the weather cooperated accordingly. ☀ The waitress was attentive and quickly brought us the menu, after which we chose drinks and food. Until then everything was fine. When our lunches were brought it all started. My partner chose the gratinated gyros with fried potato slices for lunch, everything was kind of boring and served without love. We would have been happy about a little tzatziki, it's just part of Greek food. The gratinated gyro meat was super dry despite the Metaxa sauce and it became more and more in your mouth. 🙄 It didn't feel good in your mouth and you lost more and more interest in eating. 😬 Then a lot of French fries salt was added to the cheese for gratinating and everything just tasted like this glutamate garbage. 🥴 Now to my dish, I chose the baked souvlaki with Metaxa sauce and the same filling side dish (fried potato slices) as my partner and we also ordered Cretan potatoes. This is actually always our highlight when it comes to Greek food. 😍 In my meal too, the meat was grilled to death and was becoming more and more and then a few words about the Cretan potatoes, which were the same fried potato slices as for our main courses, only that they were spread in warm cheap mayo and then like with our dishes Baked with cheese and lots of cheap French fries salt on top. All I had left was the taste of the glutamate mush in my mouth. Not even the non-alcoholic Hefeweizen could take away the unpleasant taste. Well, sooner or later we'll eat it up. Hunger drove it in. Nevertheless, the disappointment with the prepared food and the rather expensive lunch menu prevails. We explained to the waitress our disappointment and dissatisfaction with the food we received, but the waitress just said that they always prepare it that way and it stayed that way. No self-judgment to be discovered by the staff, no apology or a small gift in the form of a free drink or a dessert. He just brought us the bill and we paid accordingly. After this experience, we will avoid this place forever. If people ask us if this Greek restaurant is good, we will not recommend it. Conclusion from this lunch, clearly a waste of money and not worth a visit. 😔

I found the food to be very good, especially since the last real Greek one had failed for me. Meat was juicy and the tzatziki was homemade. At least it tasted like that. Nothing burned. We got a table straight away even though it wasn't reserved. If we lived here it would be one of my regular locals.

There were four of us, everyone got a drink, only one person didn't, ten minutes later. Starter, tzatziki, came without bread and when it finally came, it came with hair in the basket, no appetite for bread. A really great Greek restaurant! The decor made you feel like you were in Greece. There are a lot of tables, but also many waiters who ensure quick service. As a welcome, there was an ouzo liqueur on the house. The menu has everything you could want from a Greek restaurant at normal prices. I chose a mixed platter and was thrilled! My highlight: the gyros! It wasn't dry at all, not greasy and very very flavorful. The tzatziki was also super tasty! We ordered a plate as a starter and it was very plentiful for 2 people. The metaxa sauce was also delicious. The only drawback: there were champions in it that weren't written anywhere. At the end there was an ouzo on the house. Clear recommendation!

Service very friendly and pleasant, bright and attractive Mediterranean interior. If desired, a "short one" was given at the reception and farewell. Recommendations were given when choosing the dishes. Waiting time short to moderate, very tasty prepared food of good quality! We were in Magdeburg during the Easter holidays and ate at Asteria one evening. We hadn't reserved a table, but we were there relatively early, so we had no problem getting a nice table. The store is really big. It also became more and more crowded, there was a lot of coming and going. There was an incredible amount of staff on site, and other staff were constantly coming to our table. Most importantly: The food was good and tasty for everyone. The drinks were adequate and the price was right too. If you go there well, you won't go wrong. Recommendation.

Good Greek restaurant in the heart of Magdeburg. Inside you sit in beautiful surroundings reminiscent of Greece. There is also a nice outdoor terrace. The waiters were very attentive and the food was really tasty.

So you really can't complain about anything here. I had the chicken stir fry, garlic bread and various drinks. As a tall person, you have to keep your head down on the way up. The chicken was okay, the sauce and the croquettes (extra) combined were very good. All in all, recommended without reservation. There were 9 of us here :)

Sehr freundliches Personal, das sich sehr gut um seine Gäste (auch von größerer Zahl) kümmert. Das Lokal lädt zum verweilen ein, das Essen kommt schnell, macht satt und schmeckt hervorragend. Auch Extrawünsche sind kein Problem. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Vorab, das Essen ist total lecker und trotz Weihnachtsstress waren alle nett und freundlich. Die zwei Punkte ergeben sich aus der über eine Stunde Wartezeit auf den Hauptgang, kann man machen..... wenn man zwischendurch vielleicht dazu eine Info gibt ..... und die Nachbartische, welche bis zu einer halbe Stunde später kamen, nicht lange vor uns das Essen gehabt hätten. 🙈

Sehr schöner Grieche. Essen ist top, wenngleich etwas preisintensiver als bei anderen Griechen in der Stadt. Sehr lecker sind dort auch die Kretanischen Kartoffeln. Service ist top, alles schnell und frisch serviert.

Obwohl gut besucht, wurde es möglich gemacht, dass wir kurzfristig einen Tisch bekommen. Der Service war flott und freundlich und das Essen hervorragend. Pünktlich zum nächsten Reservierungsslot wäre wir satt und gut bewirtet.

Alles super soweit. Das Restaurant war sehr voll, ich hatte echt Angst das wir über eine Stunde auf unser Essen hätten warten müssen. Dies war nicht der Fall, schneller, warmes und leckeres Essen. Super. Die Nachspeisen Karte könnte ruhig etwas erweitert werden ;)

Jedzenie jest wyśmienite. Byliśmy tam w 6 osób i każde danie było wyjątkowo smaczne. Obsługa cudowna, tworzy klimat w którym człowiek czuje się jak w domu.

Wir hatten bereits ein Abschiedsessen dort als gesamte Familie aber auch in einer kleinen Runde. Das Essen war BOMBASTISCH und gleicht einer Geschmacksexplosion. Das Service ist sehr aufgeschlossen und kinderfreundlich. Als sie mitbekamen, dass das kleine Kind unruhig wurde, liefen sie mit diesen durch das Restaurant und haben ihn eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Klasse Arbeit!

Es gibt wohl wenige Restaurants, die ich sofort und ohne zu Zögern empfehlen würde. Dieses gehört definitiv dazu. Ambiente, Service, Küche, einfach alles ist hier großartig. Einfach alle Speisen sind zu empfehlen. Fazit: Empfehlenswert.

Immer sehr lecker und die Portionen ausreichend, die Kellner sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, im Sommer kann man schön draußen sitzen, drinnen bräuchte es mal eine Renovierung, aber ansonsten ist alles super.

The restaurant is clearly catering to German market thus most of the dishes are modified. I wont be calling it authentic Greek. The salmon was yummy but the salads are bland in taste. Plus they lack vegetarian dishes somehow in the menu, which is the main backbone of Greek food!!! I found that strange. Service was friendly and prices are good. It was fine but nothing so memorable.

Reservieren lohnt unbedingt. Die Nachfrage ist aus gutem Grund sehr hoch. Wo wurden zügig an unseren Platz geleitet, erhielten schnell einen Begrüßungsrede-Ouzo und die Speisekarte. Nach 15 Minuten kam das Essen - lecker!!! Was will man mehr?

The waiters are very rude and bring you drinks without even greeting the costumers. I asked for the list and chose a bier (Flaschen Weizen Bier) and a Tonic Water (Schweps). They bring the Drinks already on the glasses and don’t bring the bottles. At this time you can only guess what is inside. When I asked for the bill the waiter showed me his mobile phone with a final value charging more money than it was announced on the list. I asked for a ticket and he was very surprised and unsatisfied but did bring the ticket. The value was higher 0,30€ only on a drink. I showed him the ticket and the atitude was of total indifference. I left immediately. This is unacceptable, this is dishonest and it was no mistake, his behavior was wrong from the beginning. I am there to have a quiet moment of pleasure and spend my money fairly. Never coming back again.

Restaurante especializado en gastronomía griega. Comida sabrosa, raciones abundantes y buen ambiente. Buen trato y correcta relación calidad-precio.

Wir schlemmten hier in vollen Zügen griechisch. Qualität der Speisen stimmt, sie wurden frisch zubereitet. Der Service war zuvorkommend, obwohl das Lokal total voll war. Eine Reservation lohnt sich bzw. ist am Wochenende nötig.

Aufgrund der guten Bewertungen einiger sind wir hier zum Abendessen gegangen. Mit etwas Glück konnten wir noch einen Tisch im außenbereich bekommen. Die bestellten Gerichte waren zu unserer Zufriedenheit. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Konnten uns aufgrund der Pandemie nur Essen auf das Hotelzimmer holen. Sehr freundliches Personal beim abholen und später ein Super Abendessen. Wirklich lecker !

...grundsätzlich ein gut eingerichtetes Restaurant mit umsichtiger und freundlicher Bedienung und den üblichen Standardgerichten eines deutschen "Griechen". Was mir aber doch sehr zu denken gibt: Volles Haus und kein Hygienekonzept.

Trotz das das Lokal voll war, bekamen wir unser Essen super schnell. Geschmacklich war es super. Kellner sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ein richtig gelungener Abend.

Wir sind eher durch Zufall auf das Asteria gekommen. Wir gingen in der Mittagsruhe vorbei und dachten uns: Das wäre doch was für heute Abend. Als wir dann gegen 19:30 kamen, war das Restaurant sehr gut belegt, aber wir hatten Glück und bekamen bei sommerlichen Temperaturen draußen noch einen Tisch. Es gab original Mythos (griechisches Bier) und diverse Vorspeisen. Alles war fantastisch und wurde durch den hauseigenen Ouzo abgerundet. Wir tranken natürlich auch noch ein paar zusätzliche Ouzo. Der Grieche wird uns jedenfalls wiedersehen, wenn wir mal wieder in der Nähe sind.

Trotz aktueller Corona-Einschränkungen sehr gut, die Pfannen-Gerichte sind etwas fleischlastig (die Ausgewogenheit zu den Beilagen fehlte) - qualitativ aber absolut hochwertig. Tolle Vorspeisen!

Wir waren in diesem Jahr schon mehrmals in diesem guten griechischen Restaurant und wurden nie enttäuscht. Für uns eine Entdeckung...
