Restaurant Mesopotamia in Regensburg

Grundsätzlich ein sehr solides Restaurant für kurdische/türkische Küche. Ich komme halt aus einer Gegend wo sich die entsprechenden Restaurants geschmacklich überbieten und das Fleisch noch saftiger ist. Meine Spieße waren leider ein wenig zu trocken. Auch als Brot würde ich eher selbstgemachtes Brot bzw. Lavas-Brot bevor als Pide-Brot. Zu dem Fleich würde ich auch neben dem Zatziki auch Ezme anbieten was auch gefehlt hat.

Ich habe sehr gut gegessen. Es gibt 5 vegane Gerichte in einem separaten Abschnitt der Speisekarte. Ich hatte Sarya, die mit Spinat gefüllten Teigröllchen. Sie haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Portionen sind sehr groß. Ich hatte separat Knoblauch, was man zwar mengenmäßig nicht bräuchte, aber geschmacksmäßig sehr lecker ist. Dazu wird ein großer Brotkorb gereicht. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön renoviert, die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Vor dem Restaurant ist eine große Baustelle, deshalb ist es von der Donauseite her vielleicht nicht so einfach zu finden, aber die Suche lohnt sich.

Wir mussten über 1 Stunde auf unser Essen warten, Bedienung war freundlich.

Umzug 2 Häuser weiter. Flotter freundlicher Service. Da geht was vorwärts. Essen wie immer sehr gut und reichlich. Tolle Küche. Konstant empfehlenswert.

Wunderbares vegetarisches Essen und super nette Bedienung

Super Atmosphäre! Man fühlt sich sehr wohl und wird super nett empfangen , das Essen ist Qualitativ hochwertig und sehr lecker !

Leider sehr enttäuschender Restaurantbesuch. Wir wurden zunächst an einen offensichtlich schmutzigen Tisch gesetzt. Erst nach ca. 15 Minuten wurde dieser überhaupt abgeräumt und gereinigt. In der Zwischenzeit hatte man offenbar vergessen, dass wir neu angekommen waren – wir bekamen weder Karten noch Getränke. Die Vorspeise entsprach nicht der Beschreibung in der Speisekarte, was bereits irritierend war. Während des gesamten Aufenthalts gab es keinerlei Nachfrage, ob alles in Ordnung sei oder ob wir noch etwas möchten. Beim Bezahlen gab es kein Danke für das Trinkgeld – auch wenn es nicht hoch war, war es angesichts des Servicelevels ohnehin großzügig. Der größte Kritikpunkt kam jedoch erst danach: Wir ließen unser nicht aufgegessenes Essen einpacken. Nach längerer Wartezeit erhielten wir die Box ungeöffnet zurück. Erst zu Hause stellte sich heraus, dass uns offenbar Essen einer fremden Person eingepackt wurde. Das ist aus hygienischer Sicht absolut inakzeptabel und ein massiver Vertrauensbruch. Insgesamt ein sehr schlechter Eindruck in nahezu allen Punkten. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen. Nachtrag: Nach Kontaktaufnahme hat sich das Restaurant sehr zeitnah gemeldet, sich entschuldigt und den Betrag vollständig zurückerstattet. Das Problem wurde damit korrekt und professionell geklärt.

Riesige Portionen köstliches Essen, erstklassige Bedienung. Entspannte Atmosphäre und schnelle Zubereitung. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Das Essen war insgesamt sehr lecker!

Ich hatte ein vegetarisches Hauptgericht bestellt – aber es war die 15,60 € nicht wert. Selbst der einfachste Döner wird bei Imbiss besser angerichtet. Die Präsentation war enttäuschend! 👎🏼 Außerdem dauerte die Wartezeit über eine Stunde.

Absolut köstliches Essen! Man sollte unbedingt reservieren, sonst ist es fast unmöglich, dort einen Tisch zu bekommen. Das Brot, die frisch gerösteten Paprika, der Käse – einfach alles war superlecker. Die Lage ist charmant, es ist ein sehr altes Gebäude. Es sieht wunderschön aus. Sehr freundlicher Service.

Das Buffet war gut, es war von allem etwas dabei. Lecker und warm war es auch über den ganzen Abend. Leider wurde zu selten geschaut, ob neue Getränke gebraucht werden, hat den Gesamtrindruck aber nicht getrübt.

Das Lokal ist sehr schön und das Essen ist ziemlich gut; man kann es für türkische Grillgerichte wählen :)

Die Zutaten bei der Vorspeise wie die Bohnen und auch die Weinblätter waren alles von . Konservendosen bei dem Preisverhältnis ist es ehrlich sehr traurig.

Türkische Küche mit tollem Geschmack und Service

Stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet, freundliche Bedienung, gute Auswahl - auch an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten. Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Preise absolut fair.

We love oriental cuisine, so we tried this restaurant. The friendly, attentive, and prompt server took our orders. Drinks and food arrived very quickly. My granddaughter and I knew immediately that we wouldn't be able to finish the portions, but Grandpa ate them all up nicely. The plates were beautifully presented, the meat was cooked to perfection, and the bulgur was delicious. Prices were reasonable for Regensburg. We'll definitely be back.

The food truck operated by Mesopotamia is a disappointment. (It's not actually a truck, but a tent.) At lunchtime rush hour, only half the dishes were ready, but when I ordered, there was no mention of the food being served. I had to wait 15 minutes in the sun. Guests who ordered after me were served first (same order). Only after repeated (and vigorous) inquiries was my plate prepared. The plate then passed through several hands: the butcher only put meat on it, a colleague took over, but had no idea and basically just let the meat cool on the plate until the colleague took the plate from his hand and arranged the vegetables on it. Unfortunately, the price was incorrect. Firstly, it was incorrectly advertised, and I had to pay more. Secondly, the portion was much too small for the price. And unfortunately, it didn't taste that good.

We were very satisfied at Mesopotamia. The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was courteous and prompt. We'll definitely be back!

The food here is excellent, they serve very good local beer, the service is exemplary, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for something different, something oriental.

Just a quick 5 minute walk from the Stone Bridge, this place is a must try! I first came here in 2021 and couldn’t wait to return; 4 years later it still delivered one of my best meals in Germany! The interior decor is very authentic and cozy, but a bit warm in the summer months. However, their outdoor seating areas are just as lovely. Ask for Karina - she provided fast, friendly, and top notch service! Highly recommended!

Looking for something that both adults and children would enjoy and that wasn't Italian or German after a week in Bavaria, we found this place, just five minutes from the busiest part of Regensburg. We ordered salad, kebab (delicious chicken skewers), and moussaka. And nuggets for the little one. Everything was delicious and quickly served.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't good at all. It was probably just reheated (old grease) and was very tasteless. The flatbread that came with the side dish was very old and accordingly hard. The prices are far too high for the quality of the food. I can't recommend it.

We came all the way from England, and this restaurant made me and my family feel super welcome. The food is probably the best you’ll ever have, so definitely make time to come here!

We were positively impressed yesterday. While looking for a Greek restaurant—actually for a Greek restaurant—we discovered this restaurant with a very good vegan and vegetarian selection. Because of the community festival, it was pretty empty inside. Although the food is rather expensive, I haven't eaten this well out in a long time. The spicy salad wasn't as spicy as expected, but it was really refreshing. The warm bread and the pastry rolls with soft cheese and bulgur were simply fantastic.

Overly salty food, friendly service, good location. The durum we ordered was cold. The tzaziki on the plate tasted like plain liquified yoghurt with little additional taste. Very disappointed in the food quality, I am used to a lot better food when it comes to Syrian restaurants.

The food was okay, but nothing more. The prices for vegetarian dishes are relatively high, and at €18 for a main course, the feta should be made from sheep's or goat's milk and not cow's milk. The dishes on the menu are all similar; there's not really any noticeable difference. The service was very inexperienced and clumsy. The plates and drinks were cleared away without proper consultation with the guests.

The food was great! It tasted really delicious. It was also something different that you don't get that often in Regensburg. The service was super friendly and even asked if we wanted to share the starter and then brought separate plates. All in all, a great experience. It's a bit more expensive, especially the vegan and vegetarian dishes, which cost the same as the meat. I'd definitely go back!

We preferred this restaurant for dinner. We tried mixed kebab, Urfa kebab, children's menu with nuggets and a vegan dish. Firstly: the food was cold when it came to the table. All dishes and even the children's menu were too salty. The Urfa kebab was like rubber, it didn't fall apart in your mouth. This shows that the kebab is prepared with a machine and not with a knife as is traditional. Unfortunately, the fact that the meat is so salty shows that it is not fresh and is salted so that the meat does not smell. Chicken skewers and meat skewers were hard, perhaps because they came to the table cold, unfortunately we couldn't eat them. The children's menu was frozen ready meals and was not prepared in the restaurant. In addition, the most famous dishes in Turkish and Arabic cuisine do not become Kurdish dishes if we give them Kurdish names. In summary the food was very poor and very expensive. I recommend you stop messing with food names and start making good food instead.

We were on the way to another restaurant and then spontaneously “stuck” here. The menu is classic and extremely varied - different types of meat, many vegetarian dishes, which you can also order as a vegan variation. Our meal (Mesopotamia platter for 2) was very tasty and absolutely fair in terms of price. We just wish there had been a little more vegetarian components on the plate. The mocha and baklava for dessert are also a clear recommendation.

We have eaten at the restaurant several times and are always thrilled. The service is very friendly and quick, the food is excellent. There is also a large selection for vegetarians and vegans. The restaurant is large and you can get a table even without a reservation. The only downside: the prices are relatively high.

Es gibt auch eine große Auswahl für Vegetarier und Veganer. Das Restaurant ist groß, man bekommt auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch. Einziger Wehrmutstropfen: Die Preise sind relativ hoch.

One of my favorite restaurants! I've been eating there for several years and have tried almost the entire vegetarian/vegan menu and have never been disappointed! Everything is super delicious. All time favorites are the Delal Moussaka, Firat, Helin and spinach in general. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer for the food, but that's the exception and it's definitely worth the wait! The portions always look a bit small considering the high price, but I am always taught better and always go home full and satisfied. Thank you dear Mesopotamia team! :)

Eine wunderschöne Liebesgeschichte wird in der Karte erzählt und diese Liebe hat sich auf das Essen übertragen: die Lamm-Gerichte waren sehr sehr fein und g'schmackig und so gerne wir auch gewollt hätten, für Vorspeisen wäre gar kein Platz gewesen - Holen wir aber beim nächsten Mal auf alle Fälle nach, versprochen!

Visited as part of a business meal in December. All the food that our party ordered was excellent, particularly the mixed kebab and the baclava. The service was food, although not outstanding. Pricing was very reasonable. Overall I’d recommend visiting and would certainly return when in the area in the future!

We went here for dinner today and loved it! As a starter we had the mixed starter plate, which was impressive both visually and in terms of taste. The main courses were all excellent too - we had four different ones and each one was a delight! The ingredients were fresh, the preparation was perfect, and the spices were well balanced. It was my first time in a Kurdish restaurant and I was impressed by the tasty food and the friendly service. Keep it up!

We came here on a Sunday evening without a reservation and got a spot straight away. The ambience is beautifully and authentically furnished, the light is slightly darkened, which I personally really like for dinner. The service was always quick and very nice. The food came very quickly and I have to say that I was absolutely impressed by the food. It was very, very tasty and all the dishes (see pictures) were special in their own way! We had the starter plate (No.9) for 2 people and the main course Pir Kebab (No.34) and Beritan (No.28). I can definitely recommend the restaurant and the dishes with fresh bread (included) if you like Arabic cuisine!

One of the few restaurants in the city center that you can visit more often. The staff is very attentive and drinks and food come very quickly. Be sure to try Ayran and a dessert too, it's really worth it!

The restaurant is more than worth a visit. We were warmly welcomed and the selection on the menu was great. The food itself was served quickly and was simply delicious. If you are in Regensburg and are looking for a change from home cooking and pizza, you have come to the right place! The rooms with the cross vault are also great.

We visited the restaurant and really appreciated the atmosphere and the entire experience. The food was of good quality, although my previous experiences have set my expectations a little higher. The price-performance ratio was okay, although I understand that the central location influences the prices. I ordered a lamb skewer, it was very tasty, the bulgur salad and tzatziki were all fresh and crunchy, as was the delicious spinach with sheep's cheese!

The food tasted good (apart from the tomato soup, which obviously only consisted of pureed canned tomatoes), but the price-performance ratio was not appropriate. For example, according to the menu “..aubergines stuffed with minced lamb…” - a small slice of aubergine with some meat is served. The rest of the plate is topped with salad and bulgur - €21 is not appropriate for that. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was rather rustic. We probably won't come back.

The plate is really clear and the price-performance ratio is absolutely not there. We were still hungry after the meal and if you pay a whopping 20 euros, that's not possible. Lettuce and bulgur were spread over a large area and you could count the pieces of meat. Sorry, we won't be coming back

Unfortunately not that tasty, portions very small. Side dishes such as hummus have nothing to do with hummus. Nice service, nice atmosphere.

The taste is average - every Kurd I know says sola / not so original but it suits my wife and me. A little cheaper than exile, for example. I like to eat there every now and then

We really liked it here. I ordered vegan this time, but the lamb dishes also sounded super interesting. What was exciting was that I made a reservation online, but they didn't know anything on site. But it wasn't a problem.

We felt very comfortable in this restaurant, the service was very friendly. The food was also very good, we had a small starter plate together and a main course each, we were full and happy. If you are open to new things and like to try food from different countries, this is the right place for you.

We went to Mesopotamia this evening because of the good reviews and were unfortunately disappointed. The restaurant looks outdated and in my opinion the price/performance ratio isn't right. I had a vegetarian dish (Dürüm stuffed with eggplant and bulgur with it). The portion size was very manageable and the dish was blandly seasoned and only lukewarm. There was dry flatbread as an accompaniment. The whole thing for €17.50. My husband had chicken with bulgur, which didn't really fill him up either, and that for €19.50. We won't go there again.

We visited the place to have a special dinner for our anniversary. The best part is they have a lot of vegetarian options.The food is amazing and tasty. The staff is too friendly and cooperative. We really enjoyed our time out there. Looking forward to visit again 😃

Very tasty food and dessert! I've ordered the Ararat Mix-Kebab, as the main dish, and the Baklava as the desert (they need to be ordered separately.) The dish includes 4 kind of grilled meat: lamb meat on stick, chicken meat on stick, kebab and a piece of grilled chicken, along with potato (not fries) a special yogurt sauce, grilled tomato and paprika. As for the Baklava desert, it is about 2 pieces of Baklava (wallnuts and pistachio) and a scoop of vanilla ice cream: I really liked the idea of combining the Baklava with ice cream. The service is also nice and friendly. The atmosphere is fine; the outdoor seating is a bit crowded, and I couldn't stand to stay indoors, because of the heat (no ventilation of air conditioning.) Overall, I really enjoyed the food! The restaurant is located in the old city (to the West) directly at the Danube river, few minutes by walk west of the Stone Bridge. The price is somehow expensive, but worth it, for like one time per week of month.

Very tasty for the whole family. Attentive and friendly service. The children had chicken nuggets with fries, the meat was very good and my vegan meal was super fresh, tasty and varied. The spinach rolls, a dream. Dogs welcome, got water straight away. It's easy to book using the online form.

Since I already had a good experience in the restaurant, my partner and I thought it would be an idea to order there via Lieferando. Unfortunately, this assumption was an absolute failure! The main courses here cost around 20 euros, so we were hoping for a portion that was commensurate with the price. But that was a mistake. When we opened the food that was delivered, we couldn't believe our eyes. The amount of food was so small that it passed off as an appetizer. I find paying a total of 56 euros in order not to be even remotely full to be a complete impudence!! We immediately called the restaurant to describe the situation, but unfortunately we were only consoled by an employee. That was the only and last time we ordered here or visited the restaurant. I can only advise everyone not to throw their money out the window here. The only positive point here, the food was okay.

Food was excellent and lots of it. But it may be, after all, the portion costs just under €20. Service was quick and very friendly, all in all the visit was really worth it and we will definitely come back when the opportunity arises!

Locality The restaurant is quite dark and a bit old-fashioned. You feel set back 20-30 years in time. Judging by the reviews, it is obviously perceived as comfortable. Staff and service The staff is extremely friendly, but probably unskilled and seems quite unprofessional. Both the drinks and the dishes arrive at random over a period of time, i.e. H. not at the same time and sometimes only upon request. It's disturbing when half have finished eating and the rest haven't even seen the food yet. I can't say whether it's the kitchen or the service. I was invited there in the evening by friends and didn't want to cause any stress. Otherwise I would be... the waiting time is long gone. food and drinks The beer was slightly chilled or it sat for a long time after being poured. Several dishes are offered for vegetarians and vegans, largely different combinations of the same ingredients. The starters are certainly country-specific, but they are not very seasoned and sometimes have little taste. Salt was completely missing; However, everyone can add salt themselves. The dishes came on plates that were not preheated and/or had been in the kitchen for a long time. As a result, the food was only lukewarm. The main courses are also average at best - I tried four dishes in total. The lettuce is roughly chopped and the outer leaves are not removed. The price/performance ratio is simply not appropriate for the dishes with little use of goods. Conclusion A return visit is not likely.
