Very nice service, food a bit greasy but still good

Unfortunately we had to wait a little longer than expected, but the staff is friendly and the restaurant is very comfortable and cozy. The food was, as always, very tasty. But you should always make a reservation just to be on the safe side!

I reserved a table for two people at “El Sombrero” two weeks before and also told them that it was my birthday. When I arrived with my mam on my birthday we were given a table opposite the toilet, I wanted another one but we were denied it by a rude lady on the grounds that other tables are for multiple people. There was nothing reserved and nothing decorated, even though I wrote specifically, there wasn't even a small birthday gift, very disappointing. The male waiter was nice and attentive. It was very cold in the restaurant. Food came quickly but it was almost cold. It used to taste better and the portions were bigger. We've been to this restaurant several times, but we won't be coming back.

Four of us were there for a cozy evening. The food was very good, tasty, and fresh. The service was prompt and really friendly. The spiciness of the food is adapted to the European palate. The ambiance was very nice; only the dust on the artificial plants hanging from the lamps could be removed. This is a big plus for the high tables, where tall people can eat comfortably. Unfortunately, paying with a debit card didn't work for us and a few other guests. The cocktails were well presented and very tasty. We'll definitely be back.

We had enchiladas. It was a filling portion with lots of salad. A little too much pepper for my taste, but otherwise very good! It is rather dark in the restaurant and the selection for vegetarians is very small.

It bothers me that you have to pay separately for the sauce with the tacos, without sauce the food would be too dry! You are also processed relatively quickly, so that you have the feeling that you should eat and then quickly make room for the next guests!

Es gibt keine Kältebarriere, nicht einmal mittels Vorhang. - Gesamte Lokal ist sehr kühl wodurch keine gemütliche oder romantische Stimmung herrschte. - Menükarte enttäuschend. - Das „Plato Mexicano“ & „Plato de Tacos Mixtos“ war enttäuschend: - Essen war nicht richtig heiß, sehr fettig und das Gemüse noch kalt. - der enthaltene „Taco de Queso“ schmeckte nach ungewürzten Analogkäse. - der enthaltene „Taco de Pollo con Verduras“ hatte sehr kaltes Gemüse und das Hühnchen war nicht zu entdecken. - der enthaltene „Taco de Chorizo“ war der einzige der einigermaßen warm und geschmacklich ok war. - Die Toiletten sind schon ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. - Waschbecken hatte einen Handwaschhinweiszettel, aber keine Handwaschseife weit und breit.

There is no cold barrier, not even with a curtain. - The entire restaurant is very cool, which means there was no cozy or romantic atmosphere. - Menu disappointing. - The “Plato Mexicano” & “Plato de Tacos Mixtos” was disappointing: - Food wasn't really hot, very greasy and the vegetables were still cold. - the included “Taco de Queso” tasted like unseasoned analogue cheese. - the included “Taco de Pollo con Verduras” had very cold vegetables and the chicken could not be found. - the “Taco de Chorizo” included was the only one that was reasonably warm and tasted ok. - The toilets are getting pretty old. - The sink had a handwashing instruction sheet, but no handwashing soap anywhere.

This is how enjoyment works! Top service; We didn't have a reservation on a Saturday evening and despite it being almost fully booked, the staff made the effort to find us a place. Ambiance - super cozy And the food. Wow. We just wanted something small and it was worth every penny. Clear recommendation for the shrimp as a starter! And nachos fans will also find what they are looking for here. Always happy, price/performance really great!

Top service, very nice, child-friendly. We have reserved a table for 6 people. Were there at 5:15 p.m. Unfortunately, out of 6 different dishes we wanted to order, 3 were out. Too bad! There was no espresso either.

We had dinner while exploring the Christmas markets. It's a small place that's easy to miss. The food is freshly prepared and was quite tasty. The chili con carne was very good. We live in an area with a large hispanic population, this was as good as many of our local restaurants. The waiter was busy, but very friendly, and took good care of everyone in the place.

Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten sehr eingeschränkt. Essen war in Ordnung, aber nichts besonderes. Obwohl der Laden nicht sonderlich groß ist, war die Bedienung fast nie da um „nach dem Rechten zu sehen“

Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert und waren extra dafür vor Ort als wir dann um die Uhrzeit kamen hieß es wann können uns den Tisch nicht geben weil wir kein Anrecht haben auf einen bestimmten Tisch sondern wir müssen uns dann auch zu einem achtertisch dazu setzen das fand ich echt unverschämt wir waren 15 Minuten vor der Reservierung da und in dem Moment wurde unser Tisch an einem Pärchen vergeben wenn man aus interessierungsliste geschaut hätte hätte man wissen müssen dass wir den Tisch reserviert hatten und ihn nicht vergeben dürfen man hat uns dann einen Tisch im Abstellgleis angeboten und da wir keinen Platz hatten weil der schräge Wände waren sollten wir doch unsere Kleider abgeben das fand ich dann der absolute höhepunkt. Wir kommen aus Mexiko und ich bin stinksauer dass irgendwelche Leute die überhaupt keine Ahnung haben in Regensburg oder wo auch immer ein mexikanisches Restaurant öffnen können und so Unfall sind das hat überhaupt nichts mit der Kultur von Mexiko zu tun eine Schande eine Schande dass solche Menschen den Ruf von Mexiko schädigen. Ich kann es keinem empfehlen und das angebliche Restaurant ist viel zu klein manche Kaffee ist bei Tchibo sind größer. Also reservieren hat gar keinen Zweck und man darf dann auch nur maximal zwei Stunden den Tisch benutzen weil der dann schon wieder für andere reserviert ist wie gesagt eine absolute Frechheit und dieses mexikanische Restaurant hat überhaupt nichts mit Mexiko zu tun in keinster Weise saludos

Wir waren zu dritt essen. Wir waren alle enttäuscht, die Portionen waren sehr klein und sehr fett lastig. Zudem waren die Bezeichnung „Tacos“ und „Burrito“ unpassend, da die Zubereitung nicht ansprechend waren, viel mehr erinnerten die Speisen an eine Teigtasche mit Reis und Börek aus der türkischen Küche. Für Kunden die authentische mexikanische Küche erwartet definitiv nicht zu empfehlen.

For me the best Mexican in Regensburg! I've been going there regularly for 5 years and really enjoy eating there. The shape of the tacos is a little different than what we usually know, but they are still incredibly tasty and highly recommended! The staff is friendly and the food is always quick, hot and freshly prepared. Prices are fair. A little tip: be sure to reserve, otherwise it will be difficult with the table :)

Very welcoming place, warm colors and Mexican setting. Each table has a lot of privacy thanks to the walls that act as booths. The menu is very rich and the dishes are tasty and well made. The service is courteous but a single waiter can have difficulty serving all the tables.

The restaurant is really well designed and has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the tacos I ordered have nothing to do with the original tacos and are more similar to spring rolls. The fajitas were very good though. Unfortunately, what made the evening very unpleasant for us was the service. From the start she was very snippy and rude. Paying by card was rather complicated. Guests were pressured to leave by asking them to pay. However, this was already at 9:15 p.m., even though the restaurant is supposedly open until 11 p.m. All in all, unfortunately for us it was a pretty unpleasant visit to a restaurant that we wouldn't like to repeat.

Very unpleasant experience with a very rude waiter. Tacos have nothing to do with tacos! On top of that, super overpriced and the NeoTaste coupon was not accepted. The waiters even became abusive at times, which is why I don't recommend this restaurant!

I really enjoy staying at El Sombrero! Recently, the new lunch offer surprised me so positively in terms of price/performance that I made several recommendations to my friends. Something like this rarely or never exists anymore. The vegetarian version was super tasty, beautifully prepared and definitely left me full when I left the store. I will now come for lunch more often and can recommend that everyone do the same. Thank you and see you next time

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with how this restaurant has developed in recent years. I have been a regular customer for the past few years. Unfortunately the service has become so bad and the food is so expensive. We waited 25 minutes for an iced tea and many dishes were no longer in stock (at 6:00 p.m.). We waited 45 minutes for food and at the end the waiter asked us if we wanted to tip him. A few years ago I could recommend the store, but not anymore. Never again!

It was my first time as a guest with my wife, at first it was a bit confusing but then it subsided. The food was very tasty and the prices are completely reasonable. The interior is cozy and pleasant. Small and nice fits, I would say. The outside area is in a great location. Staff very friendly and knew the dishes. I'd love to go there again.

Unfortunately, the enchilada tasted almost like nothing. A little more spice wouldn't have hurt. You should also think about the filling. Soft-boiled broccoli and cauliflower somehow don't work. The side salad on the other hand was fresh and crunchy. Service was friendly and food came to the table quickly. Unfortunately, instead of a small water, a large water was charged, which we noticed too late.

I wrote the following email about a week ago, but unfortunately I didn't get a reply! Ladies and Gentlemen I am contacting you to describe an extremely unpleasant experience I had in your restaurant on August 10, 2024. When we arrived, the waiter in charge was visibly overwhelmed, but we accepted this with understanding as the place was quite busy. Right at the start of our visit, we pointed out to the waiter that we wanted to use a coupon. Unfortunately, at the end of the meal there was a misunderstanding as the waiter informed us that the coupon could no longer be redeemed because he had already entered the amount in the cash register. To my astonishment, he claimed that we had not informed him of this in a timely manner, even though this had happened. When I tried to solve the problem, the waiter wouldn't let me finish and reacted extremely unprofessionally. I then asked him to let me finish, to which he replied "no" and accused me of treating him disrespectfully because I was disturbing him at work. At this point there were only 3 tables outside with 2-4 people each, which made me feel very unwelcome. To top off this inappropriate behavior, he pushed me aside, which I found to be extremely disrespectful and also drew the attention of other guests. He also told us that such a misunderstanding had happened before and complained about your cooperation with NeoTaste. I would like to emphasize that I have been working in the catering industry for five years and therefore have a certain understanding of stressful situations. However, the waiter's snappy answers and his irritable manner are absolutely unacceptable and are by no means the manners that should be displayed in a professional catering establishment. I really hope that you take this matter seriously to ensure that something like this doesn't happen again in the future. Such behavior not only spoils the experience of your guests, but also damages the reputation of your establishment. Finally, I would like to emphasize that I am not writing this message primarily because of the misunderstanding regarding the coupon, but rather because of how it was responded to. It's a shame that we got a rather negative impression, even though the food was excellent. I am of course available to answer any questions you may have at any time.

It would actually be a great shame, but a great restaurant doesn't accept our Neotaste voucher. We have already redeemed around 30 Neotaste vouchers, it always worked, but not this time. Very tasty food in the old town. We were here as a family and tried different dishes. The homemade iced tea and the Plato Mexicano were particularly recommended. We'll definitely come back.

The homemade ice tea was very tasty with fruits in it. They were good portions. I had the Enchilada Vera Cruz €16.50, my partner had Fajita de Argentina €23.20. The enchiladas tasted very delicious and the salad was also tasty. Unfortunately the Argentina was disappointing, it was very spicy and not special in taste. Beforehand we had bread "Pan Con Ajo" €6.00. Just a great sandwich. Together with the Ice Tea €5.30 and a beer €4.50, this came to a total of €55.50. However, we received a bill for +-€87. When we asked for the specific bill we were told that it is "just" 87 euros. We were briefly shown the receipt, but we were not given time to read it. It seemed quite menacing. In short, excellent food, but not a pleasant feeling about having to pay this bill, which is a shame.

The atmosphere here is of course fantastic with the old houses and the old town hall in the background. I've never sat inside so I can't judge it. The seating is not very comfortable, but OK. It is a typical tourist restaurant and the food and drink menus are prepared accordingly, which is not particularly appealing to me. food and drinks We had different dishes, but they were all very “Germanized”, i.e. H. with typical German vegetables and the dishes were very lightly seasoned. The starter Gambas al Ajillo was – considering the price – very straightforward. Just a few shrimps in the broth with 2 small pieces of baguettes. I would like to leave it uncommented as to whether they were actually prawns (due to their size). The main course was fajitas in various variations. The chicken was okay, the beef was very well done, it had definitely been left on the oven or in the convection oven for too long. Everything is VERY LITTLE seasoned. We came here because of neotaste and couldn't redeem the voucher because we didn't let them know beforehand. In all other restaurants this is not a problem. Food was really not convincing. Guacamole is a better choice if you want to eat Mexican food.

The meal was okay. Not the best Mexican I've ever eaten, but not bad either. Price was high, but still ok. The atmosphere is very nice, even with the outdoor seating. But what really bothered us was the service staff assigned to us. She was very snippy and extremely stressed. Drinks were forgotten twice, but they ended up appearing on the bill, which seemed to lead to endless discussions. In addition, our voucher was not accepted because we should have said this beforehand because the service staff would have to enter this differently into the cash register. A subsequent cancellation and retyping was refused by the boss; he was friendly but extremely uncooperative. We won't be coming back.

Had ordered a table for 3 people, which can accommodate a maximum of 2 people. We were then brought a very wobbly chair. When we asked why we got such a small table despite making a reservation, the young man who served us and seemed very annoyed said that we don't have to eat here. We then changed the restaurant and were able to get to know the very nice and attentive service staff.

Rarely have I experienced such insolence. We had reserved a table for 3 people. When we arrived, the waiter showed us to our table, which was actually only for 2 people. For the 3rd person he brought a rickety chair. When we asked for another table, he said in an extremely unfriendly manner that we could just leave if the space didn't suit us. We actually left because we didn't want to be treated like that. Never again !!

The restaurant is cozy, especially on warm summer evenings when you can sit outside. The menu is clear and well structured. The service was friendly and the food was ready fairly soon after ordering. The food was very tasty, the salad perhaps had a little too much dressing for my liking and the quesadillas had a little too much sauce. But it was all within reason and overall the taste was very tasty. Portion sizes are good and the price is appropriate.

We had dinner today with a teenager, a toddler and a dog. The service was top. Everyone enjoyed the food very much. Not a long wait. The dog got some water. Price-wise, completely okay.

Leider muss ich eine eher schlechte Bewertung hinterlassen... Das Personal ist nicht besonders freundlich, als wir bereits beim hinsetzen nach den Getränken gefragt wurden und ich entgegnete, dass wir noch ein paar Minuten benötigen ist das bei der Bedienung nicht gut angekommen. Meine Vorspeise (chilli con carne klein) hat zwar sehr gut geschmeckt allerdings muss ich bemängeln, das Hackfleisch ist sehr fest und klumpig gewesen... Ist kein schönes Gefühl im Mund. Der Hauptgang hat sehr gut geschmeckt nur der Hauptgang ist in Fett geschwommen. Bei meiner Begleitung hat soweit alles gepasst bis auf den Sangria aber das ist Geschmacksache und kann daher nicht gewertet werden. Was allerdings nicht okay ist, dass die Preise im Lokal nicht mit den Preis online übereinstimmen. Das Essen ist für die gebotene Menge und Qualität zu teuer.

Nettes, kleines, mexikanisches Restaurant im Zentrum der Altstadt von Regensburg. Höfliche Bedienung und gemütliches Flair. Das Essen war sehr lecker und wunderschön angerichtet. Preise sind auf Regensburger Altstadtniveau.

Unser Lieblingsmexikaner, schon seit Jahren! Die Plato Mexicano mit vier verschiedenen Tacos, den einmaligen zwei Saucen und das köstliche Chilli, drapiert auf einer Tacoschicht in Kombination mit dem knackigen Salat - ein Gedicht! Gibt auch Veggie Alternativen, die dem geschmacklich in nichts zurück stehen. Freundlicher Chef, der flexibel auf die Wünsche von kleineren Gästen eingeht. Ambiente wie in einer urigen mexikanischen Cantina. Tequila Sorten vom Feinsten!

Absolut tolles Personal …ABER leider war das Essen gar so besonders gut. Unflexible Küche - fertig Gemüse in den Tacos - Preise viel zu hoch für die Qualität des Essens! Keine reines Rindfleisch nur gemischt (wenn ein Gericht fast 17,00 Euro kostet kann man wenigstens reines Rind erwarten) -Tacos waren sehr sehr ölig absolutes NOGO! Hatten es dann doch bereut dieses Restaurant ausgesucht zu haben. Wir werden leider nicht wieder kommen aber wünschen euch das Beste.

Gutes und hochwertiges Essen. Tacos etwas fettig - natürlich Geschmackssache, wie man's mag. Typische Preise für Großstadtverhältnisse. Laden sauber und Personal nett. Wer die Kost noch nicht so kennt und mal was neues probieren möchte, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Das Lokal an sich ist altstadttypisch leider nicht barrierefrei.

Mein Essen (Fajitas) war sehr gut, dass Essen der anderen sah etwas lieblos aus (Salat) Richtig schade war, dass wir nach dem Essen ca 1 h keine Möglichkeit hatten Getränke zu bestellen. Die Lage ist super und das Restaurant innen wirklich gelungen.

Wir sind 20 minuten zu spät zur Reservierung gekommen und es war gar kein Problem. Fantastisches essen super Gewürzt und voller Geschmack. Die Tacos sind sind geil aber das Essen allgemein, ist dort sehr qualitativ und man kriegt ne große Portion!!! Das Guacamole dip ist perfekt und schön säuerlich, man schmeckt die frische raus. Unglaublich liebe und lustige Mitarbeiter/innen die die Atmosphäre sehr angenehm machen. :) Drinnen sieht es genau so gemütlich aus wie es ist und die Klos sind sauber! Safe 10/10 von mir, wahrscheinlich auch mein neues Lieblingsrestaurant. Noch nie gemacht aber einfach so gut das ich ne Google-Bewertung hinterlassen musste.
