El Sombrero in Regensburg

War heute mit meiner Freundin essen und es war fabelhaft! Sowohl das Essen als wir auch der Service ! Nachos waren 1A Gerne wieder !

Haben nach einem kurzen Aufenthalt gesucht, um was zu essen und Bierchen zu trinken. Sind dann den ganzen Abend hiergeblieben, da der Service einfach herausragend war! Nachos waren super, immer wieder gerne!

Der junge Kellner hatte etwas Mühe mit den Empfehlungen. Das Essen war aber gut. Leider waren drei Hauptgerichte ausverkauft. Ansonsten ist an dem Lokal nichts auszusetzen.

Hola a todos, muchismas gracias :) Sehr freundlich und super essen. Ich habe dort sehr leckere Fajitas gegessen und wurde sehr freundlich bedient. Auch nochmal ein herzliches Dankeschön für die kleine Mexiko Figur mit der Kerze die ich geschenkt bekommen habe und einen tollen Platz in meiner Wohnung gefunden hat! Alles sehr zu empfehlen, dort einmal vorbeizuschauen! Vielen Dank und Saludos Jens

Viel Geld für frittierte Tacos, die mehr an schlechte Frühlingsrollen erinnern und definitiv nichts mit mexikanischen Essen zu tun haben. Die Bedienung hatte anscheinend auch einen schlechten Tag. Mein Fazit: Trotz schönem Ambiente sehr enttäuschend! Nicht empfehlenswert!

Wir sind enttäuscht von unserem Besuch heute und möchten das Lokal nicht weiterempfehlen. Die Bedienung hatte offensichtlich keinen guten Tag. Das Essen war teils in Ordnung, teils sehr salzig, so dass mein Mann es nicht aufessen konnte. Das Ambiente ist ganz nett, aber alles in allem gibt es für uns keinen Grund, nochmals dort zu essen.

Dieses Restaurant ist einfach toll! Das Essen ist lecker und man schmeckt, dass die Zutaten frisch sind und mit Liebe zubereitet wurden! Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und der Kellner war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Tolles Ambiente mit mexikanischem Vibe und schnellem Service. Solide abgeliefert. Kann man nicht meckern. Essen passt. Portionsgröße lässt Platz für Vor- oder Nachspeise.

Wir hatten mal Lust mexikanisch essen zu gehen, und hatten uns El Sombrero ausgesucht. Das Essen ist der Wahnsinn. Wir gehen seitdem nur noch zu diesem Mexikaner.

Einfach sehr gute Küche und ein tolles Ambiente. Vom überaus freundlichen und schnellen Service bis zu den Speisen alles richtig top. Danke für ein gelungenes Hochzeitstagsessen bei euch. Kommen sehr gerne wieder

Das El Sombrero in Regensburg ist ein Geheimtipp für alle, die authentisch mexikanisches Essen schätzen. Der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam und man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Das Essen überzeugt: würzig, frisch und mit Liebe zubereitet. Die Location strahlt echtes mexikanisches Flair aus, von der Einrichtung bis zur Atmosphäre. Insgesamt eine sehr lohnenswerte Adresse, wenn man Qualität und Authentizität sucht.

Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen. Kleines Restaurant und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Essen kam schnell und beide Gerichte waren sehr sehr lecker. Würde eine Reservierung empfehlen.

August 5, 2025 The young lady who served us belongs more in a military facility than in the restaurant industry. I have 30 years of restaurant experience, and I've never experienced anything like this. I'd rather not say anything about the food.

Das „ El Sombrero“ ist seit den 90-iger Jahren unser Lieblingslocation!!! Selbst als es in Regensburg zeitweise nicht mehr möglich war, war uns kein Weg zu weit ( in Amberg gab es auch einen El Sombrero der Familie) zu unserem „ Lieblingsmexikaner“ zu fahren!!! Wir hoffen, dass uns unser Favoritenlokal noch lange erhalten bleibt!!!

My fiancé's food was extremely spicy, even though it shouldn't have been spicy according to the menu and when asked. Overall, our dishes didn't taste particularly good. Mine was very bland, lacking in seasoning, and his was just spicy... A small bowl of guacamole costs an extra €3, which I find very disappointing that the dishes don't come with a dip, as it would otherwise be very dry. The restrooms were incredibly dirty, and the benches were generally very old and musty. All in all, a disappointment for us. The service was nice, though.

Sehr, sehr schönes Restaurant und köstliches Mexikanisches Essen. 🤌 Es war sehr gemütlich und entspannt. Wir waren 7 Personen und wurden wirklich toll bedient. Super Personal, alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen und auch die Cocktails waren hervorragend. Wir empfehlen den Sangria und Margarita. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Im Sommer kann man auch draußen sitzen. 💚

Unfortunately, both the food and the service were disappointing. The tacos were deep-fried, making them very greasy, and the filling tasted below average. The chili con carne filling only contained ground beef without kidney beans, the quesedillas were very dry, and only the enchillada tasted good. The service was quick but a bit snappy for my taste. The reservation was also omitted from the notice that payment was only accepted by cash. There was only a sign at the entrance, which we didn't see because we were seated outside. There was no personal notice, so we had to go out again to withdraw cash. Our dog, however, was well-supplied with water.

We love eating at El Sombrero! We always get the four tacos with salad on the side. The cream curry dressing on the salad is very good! I can also recommend the Chili Con Carne. The only thing I really regret now is that you no longer implicitly get the two good sauces with the tacos (a hot and a garlic sauce), but you have to order them explicitly. In my opinion, they are making a mistake here, because these sauces for the enchiladas are the icing on the cake! If you want to save on sauces, you should increase the price of the meal a little so that these sauces are always included! This is in no way intended to be an attack, just some well-intentioned advice. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The place is quite small, but has a nice, cozy atmosphere. What's also worth mentioning in my opinion is that this is not a classic Mexican. So an American shouldn't expect to get Taco Bell-like food here.

Unfortunately it didn't really convince me personally. The ambience is good. Just like the service. But the food could be better.

Service was very unfriendly and we felt really out of place as a group. Vegetarian options were almost non-existent, and the cheese tacos were basically inedible because you kept choking on the massive amounts of cheese. The tacos say more like spring rolls. And at a price of €18 for 4 tacos, I would at least expect sauces to be included. The only dishes that looked good were the enchiladas and salads, as these seemed to me at least as if they hadn't been warmed up from the freezer. In itself a nice restaurant, the music was good too but unfortunately everything else was a failure.

Unfortunately we had to wait a little longer than expected, but the staff is friendly and the restaurant is very comfortable and cozy. The food was, as always, very tasty. But you should always make a reservation just to be on the safe side!

I reserved a table for two people at “El Sombrero” two weeks before and also told them that it was my birthday. When I arrived with my mam on my birthday we were given a table opposite the toilet, I wanted another one but we were denied it by a rude lady on the grounds that other tables are for multiple people. There was nothing reserved and nothing decorated, even though I wrote specifically, there wasn't even a small birthday gift, very disappointing. The male waiter was nice and attentive. It was very cold in the restaurant. Food came quickly but it was almost cold. It used to taste better and the portions were bigger. We've been to this restaurant several times, but we won't be coming back.

Four of us were there for a cozy evening. The food was very good, tasty, and fresh. The service was prompt and really friendly. The spiciness of the food is adapted to the European palate. The ambiance was very nice; only the dust on the artificial plants hanging from the lamps could be removed, a big plus for the high tables, where tall people can eat comfortably. Unfortunately, paying with a debit card didn't work for us and a few other guests. The cocktails were well presented and very tasty. We'll definitely be back.

We had enchiladas. It was a filling portion with lots of salad. A little too much pepper for my taste, but otherwise very good! It is rather dark in the restaurant and the selection for vegetarians is very small.

It bothers me that you have to pay separately for the sauce with the tacos, without sauce the food would be too dry! You are also processed relatively quickly, so that you have the feeling that you should eat and then quickly make room for the next guests!

My favorite place to eat in Regensburg! Delicious Mexican food, cozy and warm atmosphere and very nice staff. Totally recommend it :)

Es gibt keine Kältebarriere, nicht einmal mittels Vorhang. - Gesamte Lokal ist sehr kühl wodurch keine gemütliche oder romantische Stimmung herrschte. - Menükarte enttäuschend. - Das „Plato Mexicano“ & „Plato de Tacos Mixtos“ war enttäuschend: - Essen war nicht richtig heiß, sehr fettig und das Gemüse noch kalt. - der enthaltene „Taco de Queso“ schmeckte nach ungewürzten Analogkäse. - der enthaltene „Taco de Pollo con Verduras“ hatte sehr kaltes Gemüse und das Hühnchen war nicht zu entdecken. - der enthaltene „Taco de Chorizo“ war der einzige der einigermaßen warm und geschmacklich ok war. - Die Toiletten sind schon ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. - Waschbecken hatte einen Handwaschhinweiszettel, aber keine Handwaschseife weit und breit.

There is no cold barrier, not even with a curtain. - The entire restaurant is very cool, which means there was no cozy or romantic atmosphere. - Menu disappointing. - The “Plato Mexicano” & “Plato de Tacos Mixtos” was disappointing: - Food wasn't really hot, very greasy and the vegetables were still cold. - the included “Taco de Queso” tasted like unseasoned analogue cheese. - the included “Taco de Pollo con Verduras” had very cold vegetables and the chicken could not be found. - the “Taco de Chorizo” included was the only one that was reasonably warm and tasted ok. - The toilets are getting pretty old. - The sink had a handwashing instruction sheet, but no handwashing soap anywhere.

This is how enjoyment works! Top service; We didn't have a reservation on a Saturday evening and despite it being almost fully booked, the staff made the effort to find us a place. Ambiance - super cozy And the food. Wow. We just wanted something small and it was worth every penny. Clear recommendation for the shrimp as a starter! And nachos fans will also find what they are looking for here. Always happy, price/performance really great!

Top service, very nice, child-friendly. We have reserved a table for 6 people. Were there at 5:15 p.m. Unfortunately, out of 6 different dishes we wanted to order, 3 were out. Too bad! There was no espresso either.

Cozy atmosphere and the staff is friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn't convince me at all. The vegetarian enchilada had no flavor to me other than a bit of heat. The filling was reminiscent of frozen vegetables.

We had dinner while exploring the Christmas markets. It's a small place that's easy to miss. The food is freshly prepared and was quite tasty. The chili con carne was very good. We live in an area with a large hispanic population, this was as good as many of our local restaurants. The waiter was busy, but very friendly, and took good care of everyone in the place.

Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten sehr eingeschränkt. Essen war in Ordnung, aber nichts besonderes. Obwohl der Laden nicht sonderlich groß ist, war die Bedienung fast nie da um „nach dem Rechten zu sehen“

Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert und waren extra dafür vor Ort als wir dann um die Uhrzeit kamen hieß es wann können uns den Tisch nicht geben weil wir kein Anrecht haben auf einen bestimmten Tisch sondern wir müssen uns dann auch zu einem achtertisch dazu setzen das fand ich echt unverschämt wir waren 15 Minuten vor der Reservierung da und in dem Moment wurde unser Tisch an einem Pärchen vergeben wenn man aus interessierungsliste geschaut hätte hätte man wissen müssen dass wir den Tisch reserviert hatten und ihn nicht vergeben dürfen man hat uns dann einen Tisch im Abstellgleis angeboten und da wir keinen Platz hatten weil der schräge Wände waren sollten wir doch unsere Kleider abgeben das fand ich dann der absolute höhepunkt. Wir kommen aus Mexiko und ich bin stinksauer dass irgendwelche Leute die überhaupt keine Ahnung haben in Regensburg oder wo auch immer ein mexikanisches Restaurant öffnen können und so Unfall sind das hat überhaupt nichts mit der Kultur von Mexiko zu tun eine Schande eine Schande dass solche Menschen den Ruf von Mexiko schädigen. Ich kann es keinem empfehlen und das angebliche Restaurant ist viel zu klein manche Kaffee ist bei Tchibo sind größer. Also reservieren hat gar keinen Zweck und man darf dann auch nur maximal zwei Stunden den Tisch benutzen weil der dann schon wieder für andere reserviert ist wie gesagt eine absolute Frechheit und dieses mexikanische Restaurant hat überhaupt nichts mit Mexiko zu tun in keinster Weise saludos

Wir waren zu dritt essen. Wir waren alle enttäuscht, die Portionen waren sehr klein und sehr fett lastig. Zudem waren die Bezeichnung „Tacos“ und „Burrito“ unpassend, da die Zubereitung nicht ansprechend waren, viel mehr erinnerten die Speisen an eine Teigtasche mit Reis und Börek aus der türkischen Küche. Für Kunden die authentische mexikanische Küche erwartet definitiv nicht zu empfehlen.

For me the best Mexican in Regensburg! I've been going there regularly for 5 years and really enjoy eating there. The shape of the tacos is a little different than what we usually know, but they are still incredibly tasty and highly recommended! The staff is friendly and the food is always quick, hot and freshly prepared. Prices are fair. A little tip: be sure to reserve, otherwise it will be difficult with the table :)

Very welcoming place, warm colors and Mexican setting. Each table has a lot of privacy thanks to the walls that act as booths. The menu is very rich and the dishes are tasty and well made. The service is courteous but a single waiter can have difficulty serving all the tables.

The restaurant is really well designed and has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the tacos I ordered have nothing to do with the original tacos and are more similar to spring rolls. The fajitas were very good though. Unfortunately, what made the evening very unpleasant for us was the service. From the start she was very snippy and rude. Paying by card was rather complicated. Guests were pressured to leave by asking them to pay. However, this was already at 9:15 p.m., even though the restaurant is supposedly open until 11 p.m. All in all, unfortunately for us it was a pretty unpleasant visit to a restaurant that we wouldn't like to repeat.

Price-performance is not fair, for €16 not a single sauce is weak

Very unpleasant experience with a very rude waiter. Tacos have nothing to do with tacos! On top of that, super overpriced and the NeoTaste coupon was not accepted. The waiters even became abusive at times, which is why I don't recommend this restaurant!

Super nice restaurant with very, very tasty food! You immediately feel as if you were in Mexico, as the ambience is super beautiful and lovingly detailed. Price-performance ratio is completely consistent. Gladly again!

A restaurant as you would imagine. The food and drinks are super delicious. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Although almost all of the seats were occupied, there was never the feeling that things were hectic. Simply recommended. Keep it up.

I really enjoy staying at El Sombrero! Recently, the new lunch offer surprised me so positively in terms of price/performance that I made several recommendations to my friends. Something like this rarely or never exists anymore. The vegetarian version was super tasty, beautifully prepared and definitely left me full when I left the store. I will now come for lunch more often and can recommend that everyone do the same. Thank you and see you next time
