Ein typisches Bergrestaurant, aber die Atmosphäre ist sehr entspannt und der Service ausgezeichnet.

Sehr leckeres Essen, schönes Ambiente und eine tolle Aussicht von der Terrasse aus.

Unfreundlicher Service, das Essen ist okay, nichts Besonderes. Der Kellner übte Druck aus, indem er Trinkgeld verlangte, was in Deutschland, insbesondere angesichts des Services, eigentlich nicht nötig ist. Die Aussicht ist der einzige Grund, dort zu Mittag zu essen.

Äußerst unfreundlicher Service, lange Wartezeiten und bestenfalls mittelmäßige Getränke. Unfreundlicher Empfang und ein unangenehmer Kellner; ich rate Ihnen zu einem Berufswechsel.

Schöner Ort und toller Service. Mit Blick auf Baden-Baden, besonders bei Sonnenuntergang, wenn man mit der Standseilbahn hinauffährt, ist die Aussicht atemberaubend. Unbedingt ausprobieren!

Das Ambiente vor Ort ist schön, der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen war allerdings nur mittelmäßig, wir hätten uns auch gewünscht, dass bei einem Steak die gewünschte Garstufe proaktiv erfragt wird. Um in seinen Wander-Sachen für einen Snack oder Stück Kuchen einzukehren absolut top, darüber hinaus leider unserer Erfahrung nach aber nicht

Einfaches Essen, schneller Service und eine wunderschöne Aussicht

Das Essen war grundsätzlich lecker, jedoch haben sämtliche Soßen nach Wasser geschmeckt. Das Essen kam auch bei großer Gruppe relativ zeitgleich. Guter Service. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt nicht ganz.

Na einfach, die Öffnungszeiten sagen: bis 21:30h Wir waren da um 19:00h: Lapidare Info, die Küche ist zu es waren jetzt 4 Tage Ostern. Kein Info unten an der Bahn, man lässt die Gäste erst mal rauf fahren. Sagt alles zur Haltung zu Gästen

Wir gingen voller Vorfreude auf einen kleinen Imbiss zu der kleinen Brasserie. Da alle Kellner mürrisch aussahen und wir uns ehrlich gesagt nicht besonders willkommen fühlten, bestellten wir einfach eine Portion Pommes (ich arbeite selbst in der Gastronomie, das dauert keine fünf Minuten). Der Kellner sagte uns ohne weitere Erklärung, dass wir nichts anderes bestellen könnten (es war 12:30 Uhr). Als wir bezahlen wollten, fragten wir einen anderen Kellner, der uns nur sagte, dass eine Gruppe da sei und die Wartezeit zu lang wäre. Das war wirklich überraschend, da ich fünf Minuten zuvor an der besagten Gruppe vorbeigegangen war und sie bereits fertig gegessen hatten. Nun ja, für einen Drink ist es ganz nett, aber wenn Sie Freundlichkeit, guten Service und gutes Essen suchen, sollten Sie sich woanders umsehen.

Heute war ich nach einer 10-km-Wanderung dort. Ich war so hungrig und durstig, dass ich dachte, ich sollte mir besser etwas zu essen und zu trinken holen, bevor ich wieder loswandere. Das Personal war leider unhöflich. Die Pommes (5,80 €) waren Tiefkühlpommes und innen hart. Die kleine Cola (3,40 €) war schal und nicht mal so groß wie eine Dose. Als ich dann bezahlen wollte, hieß es: „Tut mir leid, Mindestbetrag 10 € für Kartenzahlung.“ Also Vorsicht: Wenn Sie nur einen Kaffee für 4 € möchten und kein Bargeld dabei haben, zahlen Sie 10 €. Ich verstehe ja, dass es dort oben die einzige Möglichkeit zum Essen und Trinken ist, aber man könnte wirklich freundlicher sein, gutes Essen anbieten und nicht 10 € Mindestbetrag verlangen!

Hoch oben auf dem Merkur thront das "Merkurstüble". Die Aussicht hier oben ist bei gutem Wetter wirklich gigantisch und es macht Spaß, im Außenbereich ein Glas Wein zu genießen. Allerdings ist es - wie leider sehr häufig in und um Baden-Baden - sehr touristisch ausgelegt und für die Qualität der Speisen und Getränke (Wein) werden zu hohe Preise aufgerufen. Wir saßen im Innenbereich (das Wetter war zwar für Februar überragend, aber dann war da doch der kalte Wind) und haben einmal Käsespätzle, einen Straßburger Wurstsalat und zwei Glas Grauburgunder bestellt. Der Service war etwas träge und meine Frau musste nach ca. 10 Minuten an der Theke nachfragen, ob jemand kommen würde, um unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen. Das Essen war "so la la" und ließ Raffinesse und Ausgewogenheit vermissen. Die Käsespätzle bei weitem zu "sahnig" und der Wurstsalat ganz hart an der "Sauer-Grenze". Der Grauburgunder war durchschnittlich. Die Portionsgrößen stimmen; deshalb gerade noch 3 Sterne. Was uns sehr negativ aufgefallen ist: Oben am Eingang zum Restaurant stand ein Schilde, dass heute nur bis 17:30 Uhr geöffnet ist. Unten an der Talstation der Merkurbahn davon kein Wort. Wir hatten gerade noch Glück, weil wir um 16:30 Uhr oben waren. Andere Gäste kamen gegen 17:00 Uhr und wollten etwas Essen. Die wurden abgewiesen und waren zurecht herb enttäuscht. Dabei hatte jeder schon ein recht teures Ticket für die Bahn (knapp 10 Euro) bezahlt. Man könnte mehr aus diesem wunderschönen Ort machen und sich von der Touri-Mentalität ein bisschen verabschieden. Es kommen viele Leute hier rauf, die nicht Urlaub in Baden-Baden verbringen, sondern im Umfeld leben. Schön ist es auch, draußen die startenden Gleitschirmflieger zu beobachten.

Als die Preise sind schon teuer (was in Ordnung ist wenn der Service stimmt) allerdings haben wir leider sehr lange warten müssen, andere Gäste wurde vorher bedient trotz das Sie später da waren. Am Ende würde ich hier nicht wieder einkehren.

Ein sehr gut gelegenes Restaurant mit generell guter Qualität. Es hat allerdings die typischen Nachteile eines Touristenlokals, je nach Saison: Die Bedienung kann bei großem Andrang etwas gehetzt und weniger freundlich sein. Bei meinem letzten Besuch im Februar war alles perfekt: aufmerksamer, ruhiger, diskreter, freundlicher und professioneller Service. Das Essen war köstlich und die Atmosphäre angenehm. Unbedingt hingehen!

Wir hatten einen Tisch für 6 Personen reserviert, als wir schließlich hoch gefahren sind und einkehren wollten, war das Lokal geschlossen. Wir hatten für Parkgebühren und Bergticket nahezu 50€ ausgegeben. Auf meine Mail wurde nicht reagiert. Für mich absolut unzuverlässig, nie mehr…

Nach einem anstrengenden Wandertag sind wir hier eingekehrt. Da wir die ersten Gäste waren, können wir die Servicegeschwindigkeit nicht beurteilen. Insgesamt waren wir jedoch sehr zufrieden. Das Essen wurde zügig serviert und die Steaks waren exakt wie gewünscht medium gebraten. Wir hatten den Salatteller „Merkur“ als Vorspeise sowie als Hauptgerichte ein Rumpsteak mit Pommes und ein Rumpsteak mit Bratkartoffeln. Bei der Preisgestaltung sollte man die besondere Lage des Restaurants berücksichtigen – schließlich gelangt das Essen nicht von selbst den Berg hinauf. Wir kommen gerne wieder, sobald wir erneut in der Gegend sind.

We were there with a large group; it was otherwise quiet, but they had absolutely no interest in serving us. Instead, even though the last train leaves at 10 pm, we were asked to wait until 9-30 pm. The food was a solid 4 out of 10. The meat was tiny, and the vegetables were all frozen. When all the schnitzels look the same, what more can you say? For me, it was a waste of time and money. I don't need to eat there. If they're making such great money during the day, then at least open in the evenings; no one will be disappointed. The ambiance was nice, even though the tables were extremely small. It had a cozy atmosphere, but they could do so much more with it.

Excellent. Great food. Everything we ordered was delicious. The service was very good, and they spoke English without any problems. Dogs are allowed at the first few tables inside. We'll definitely be back!

Saturday, 3:00 PM The restaurant and terrace were sparsely populated. After 15 minutes, we politely inquired at the counter if we could order something. The response was that a server would come to our table... unfortunately, nothing happened. Upon asking again when a server would arrive and whether they weren't interested in serving guests, the curt reply was, "We're not interested." It's a good thing we asked. Very disappointing. Apparently, Merkur Gastronomie has other problems that can't be solved by a VAT reduction. This restaurant is definitely off our list.

I was there on a busy, sunny day. It was absolutely packed. As a result, the service was a bit slow, but the server was still incredibly friendly and frequently checked to make sure everything was alright. The food was hearty, good quality, and the portions were very generous. I would definitely come back.

We witnessed a situation at the next table where they were so rude to the guests. We definitely won't be going back; the food was nothing special and the waiters were incredibly unpleasant!

The restaurant was completely empty. We were a group of about 20 people and were initially seated at two different tables because it was apparently too much work to push them together. After asking three times, we were finally allowed to sit together. Extreme listlessness was already written all over our faces, and after the first order, the service was unfortunately nonexistent. The quality of the food unfortunately didn't match the price. We definitely didn't feel welcome. It was a short and last visit there.

We were there yesterday with a reservation at 2 p.m. The food was excellent, the service impeccable. Very nice ambiance (we ate in the dining room). The only downside: it took a very long time for the food to arrive, and the drinks were also slow. On the other hand, our server was completely stressed, which we understand on an unexpectedly sunny day. They could practice smiling! We'll check that out next time we're there.

Everything was great! The food was truly delicious and the service extremely attentive. I especially liked the comfortable seating, whether inside or outside – you feel completely comfortable and welcome here.

Unenthusiastic service staff. The potato soup was something indefinable, far beyond anything with potatoes. The soup pot and saucer were smeared. There were no napkins, spoon, pot, and that's it. Empty dishes weren't cleared away, and of course, no one even asked if you'd like anything else. The job of being a restaurateur seems to be a burden, and the guests are a nuisance. Sad! If you obviously have so little interest in the restaurant industry, why do this to your guests?

I would caveat this review by noting that when my friend and I arrived at the restaurant, we were extremely hungry having just walked 15km and climbed Merkur. However, we rank this as one of our favourite meals together and our favourite meal of our holiday in Baden Baden. While the food is not outstanding, it is tasty, with generous portions. We ate schnitzel, beef stew and Black Forest cake. All very satisfying. The view is amazing and we found the service friendly and welcoming. I would visit again.

We have been coming to this restaurant every single year for over 10 years and we loved it. This year, when we visited Baden Baden in September 2024, we were looking forward to have some usual food there too but unfortunately it was absolutely terrible experience. Beautiful salad with beef turned into nasty, tasteless, cheap ingredients something that was topped up with sweet chilli sauce to the point that all ingredients were flooded in the sauce. I’m sorry, if I wanted that amount of sweet chilli sauce, I would go to the Chinese restaurant, but I came to German restaurant to have my normal beautiful salad but alas. When I mentioned that to the waiter, he informed me that the kitchen has changed and the menu has changed. Please, do me a favour. Come back to normal standards because this is a shame what you’ve done. Changes have to be made in order to get better, not to ruin what was once good. You have lost our family as a client for now until you start serving good food again.

We wanted to have a drink at the Merkurstüble today. All the seats were taken except for a table for 6. We sat down there and waited for a while for the waiter. When he finally came and asked what we wanted, he told us straight away in no uncertain terms that if we only wanted a drink, we should sit in the sun at a table for 2 that had just been free. However, since we had specifically booked the only free table in the shade, we didn't want to sit in the sun in the almost 30°C heat. He then said we were taking someone else's seat. We wouldn't have minded if someone had sat down next to us. And we wouldn't have sat there long for a spudel and espresso either. We left and will not be visiting this place again. You can't advertise there when the atmosphere is this rude.

Based on other reviews here, we were very skeptical. We had two salads and the vegetable side plate. Actually, everything was fine.

Incredible location. We took the funicular up, and it was the perfect place to have a snack and take in the magnificent views. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is charming. It has a very German atmosphere. Fast service and decent food. Being the only restaurant at the top, you have to wait for a table, especially during peak hours (1:00 PM to 3:00 PM). We had a Paneer Steak and a Linseneintopf with Spätzle. The price was reasonable: €46.40 for two people.

It's wonderful to sit on the terrace when the weather is nice. However, the wait time for service with food and drinks is far too long.

It's nice out but unfortunately they don't open the umbrellas even in the sun at certain tables where the view is the most beautiful, with the excuse that within 5 minutes there will be a 13 km/h wind. Unfortunately, after waiting for 30 minutes, I didn't even feel a little breeze. The food I ordered from the menu and what was served was not the same. I've eaten it several times already, that's why I know that it can only be prepared in 3 ways, and when I mentioned this to the waiter, he still said to me that it was prepared exactly that way. He didn't even acknowledge it when I showed him the food left on my plate.

Great cafe bar with incredibly hard working, engaging and attentive staff. Lovely place atop the hill overlooking the town. Good beer and broad and very well priced menu. Cakes were popular. Nice atmosphere. Exceeded expectations.

Solid restaurant with a café I was only there for a coffee and a beer, but the view was impressive. €3.20 is also a really good price for a coffee in this location.

We wanted to have lunch there. We immediately noticed that there wasn't much emphasis on cleanliness. The high chair was really dirty, so we had to give it a thorough cleaning, and even then, we didn't want to put our daughter in it. The menu was very sticky. When we asked if we could get two Maultaschen for our 1-year-old daughter, the answer was "No"... Since they serve Maultaschen salad, I wonder why that's not possible. When we asked, the answer was that they could only serve Maultaschen salad. The waiter spoke so quietly and unclearly that we could barely understand anything. We canceled our order and left.

Here's an email I sent to the restaurant. I'm very disappointed; I didn't expect such a welcome!! I came to your restaurant yesterday before 12:45 p.m. with my children. I was greeted very unpleasantly by one of your servers who, without even looking at me, told me that they were no longer serving meals at that time (12:45 p.m.) and that only drinks were left! In a contemptuous tone, even though I spoke to him respectfully and even with a smile. I think other people arrived afterward and were served (meal and drink). A little later, around 2:00 p.m., I wanted to sit down with my children to have a drink. There were three servers walking back and forth on the terrace without even paying any attention to us. After almost 30 minutes, I asked a server for a drink menu, and he curtly replied, "Wait, please!!" » I'm truly disappointed with the welcome at your restaurant, especially since your website clearly states: "In our restaurant 'Merkurst-ble,' a comfortable atmosphere meets a magnificent view. Let our team pamper you. Take a look at our menu. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to your visit." It doesn't mention that you stop serving meals at 1 p.m.! We didn't come to a comfortable atmosphere; on the contrary, we weren't welcome, we weren't pampered, and our questions were answered curtly and with dislike. I'm glad I didn't give money for such disrespect!

Today, we went to the Merkur restaurant for lunch with 100 Horb seniors. Excellent service, a friendly welcome, and pre-ordered, selected dishes and drinks were very tasty, wholesome, and delicious. Reasonably priced, with large portions—you'll never be full! We'll be back!

Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. My visit to Merkurstüble was a bitter disappointment. The dish, advertised as an "Argentinian steak," didn't even remotely resemble the quality or taste of real Argentinian steaks – tough, poorly seasoned, and overall barely edible. The turkey steak was also very dry and completely tasteless. It came with a "Coke" that was obviously a cheap imitation – no comparison to real Coca-Cola, barely drinkable. Even the beer was of extremely poor quality. As if that weren't enough, even the fries were soggy and bland – McDonald's is a gourmet temple by comparison. €140 for nothing. All in all: a restaurant that has absolutely nothing to do with quality. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

My fiancé and I came here for the panoramic views. He enjoyed a cappuccino and I enjoyed Johannisbeerschorle. The restaurant has a very rustic mountain‑hut feel. In interior is cozy with velvet chairs. Then there’s a terrace, which is perfect on sunny days. I didn't use the food offer, so I can't rate the food. We stopped for something to drink - the selection was okay, the drinks were tasty. The service was quick and polite, you can pay by card on site, which is convenient. An additional advantage is the access to a free toilet right next door. A nice place for a short stop during a walk or trip.

We were up there yesterday in stormy weather and stopped off at the Merkurstüble for dinner. It wasn't busy, so we were served quickly. Our two portions of sausage salad with fried potatoes also arrived quickly. However, the fried potatoes were very greasy, and there was quite a bit of oil on the plate. The sausage was more from a discount store than a good butcher. The price wasn't right, though; it's more for premium sausage. Otherwise, it's a very nice place to enjoy the sunset.

After the funicular, we stopped for lunch at this restaurant with a beautiful view and fast service. We really enjoyed our break at the Merkurstüble. The view from the terrace is truly superb, with a magnificent panorama of the Black Forest. It's a perfect spot after a walk or the funicular ride. The service was fast and efficient, perhaps also because it wasn't too busy that day. The dishes are simple but good, in the spirit of mountain inns. A great place to enjoy the setting, relax, and eat well without too much waiting.

The food was too salty for my taste and the taste was not convincing. I thought it was a bit of a shame given the price. But it's nice that people asked twice how it tasted. Maybe the feedback will be implemented.

The service is terrible. If you want to take your food with you, you have to pack it yourself - they only bring you a box. The behavior is simply disgusting.

Nice restaurant with good food, we try the goulas soup, the spaetzle with chees and spaetzle with ragu sauce. Also, the traditional desert apple strudel. The service was good and the palce is very nice.

We had reserved three tables in the Merkustüble but when we arrived without delay, one of the tables had been given to other guests even though there were still enough free. The food is ok but nothing more. In my opinion, a restaurant called Stüble des Baden-Baden's local mountain deserves decent Baden cuisine. As a guest with extensive experience in gastronomy, from snack bars to star-rated cuisine, I don't like to speak badly of service staff because it is a very strenuous job and there are always guests who cannot be satisfied at all. But what I was able to experience in this restaurant destroys any reputation of a restaurant, apart from the food, premises, etc. When you are yelled at at the entrance that this is not self-service just because you stand briefly at the counter to make room for other guests who want to walk past. When you are “ordered” in a harsh tone by the waitress to wait with your food order until she completes the drink order and runs away again. (Not everything fits on one piece of paper, I assume) If you don't feel welcome overall, then management should give it some thought. But I assume that due to the constant influx of visitors and tourists, the people in charge don't have to make any effort, which is a shame because it's not rocket science to be a good host. The cherry on the cake is that...ATTENTION...even though this is clearly a tourist magnet (the mountain) CARD PAYMENT IS NOT POSSIBLE. Apparently time passes more slowly in the Stüble than elsewhere and the 21st century has not yet been reached. This would also explain why the tenants Google, TripAdvisor and co. do not know and unfortunately the situation in this restaurant will not change for the time being. Conclusion: OK for a cold beer on the terrace thanks to the beautiful view, but only if you have enough cash ;)

0 stars because there was also 0 food. “Due to overload” operations were simply stopped and the guests were chased away!!! And that at the excessive price level. You simply don't need it anymore! An affront to all the poor restaurateurs whose existence was taken away during Corona and those who are also having a very difficult time these days because of the immense costs in this country....

Very nice view from the terrace over Baden Baden. The inside is also very nicely decorated. Food was good. Portions are right. Price/performance fits. Staff friendly and quick. Easily accessible by cable car. Children's playground nearby at the Merkur Tower.

Went to the Merkurstüble restaurant today. We have never found a mini cappuccino like this for €4.20 anywhere. Catastrophic price-performance ratio. The staff was also quite disorganized. Otherwise the restaurant is nice.

I have now had 3 larger celebrations in the Merkurstüble: department celebration, team celebration and the day before yesterday Christmas dinner with family. It was very good every time: Friendly staff Large selection Fair prices and above all: very tasty. Thank you Mario Jung

Great place great coffee but you can't get anything to go unless you have a seat. You can't even get a coffee at the bar.

Only place when you arrive at the top of the funicular. The setting is very beautiful, everything is made of wood. However, a regrettably neglected service, the waiter was very dismissive. It seems that the house differs in its treatment of the head, (and color?) of its clientele.

Cozy with living room character. A good opportunity to take a break high up on Mercury. The coffee was good and the price was okay.

We “only” had coffee and apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. Delicious would be an understatement.

Cakes are from the shopping center or industrial food transformation. The site seeing is wonderful. The prices are for home made high quality cakes.

Super nice experience arriving at the top of the funicular! As it's a very touristy place, and it's the only restaurant, we were a little hesitant, thinking that the quality might not be there. Well it’s quite the opposite! The dishes were generous, tasty, really well prepared. Our son loved the salmon with butter and lemon sauce. This is also my first experience of Apfelstrudel, and really great. There is the choice between being outside with a magnificent view or inside. A little further on, there is also a small children's play area, much appreciated by our son after the meal. On the reception side, I saw the other opinions concerning the sometimes neglectful or cold contact. Generally speaking, we did sometimes notice coldness during our stay in Germany, including in this restaurant, but that in no way took away the pleasure of eating there.

Is my second husband in this restaurant. And everything here is very good and everything is very friendly.

The cakes and coffee are very good. The service is an absolute disaster. Three service staff try their best, the cleaning lady doesn't understand a word and does everything half-heartedly. We asked for the bill when the food came and still had to wait 30 minutes.

At the end of the day we took a lunch break here on the Merkur. Very tasty and good portions. We really liked it.

The food is decent but you really come here for the view, which is stunning! Waiters were kind and helped us get a table out of the sun and under an umbrella. A lovely place to spend the evening or just grab a drink.

From the terrace I had a wonderful view of Baden-Baden and the Upper Rhine Graben. I then ordered a regional dish: lentils, wienerle and homemade spaetzle. What a disappointment! The red lentils were swimming in a sauce that reminded me of English white beans in tomato sauce (canned). The spaetzle glowed an intense yellow, which made me wonder where this color came from! All in all, not a bit unimaginatively arranged! Too expensive for the asking price of 17.50!

Food was good, but ordered a special that was diluted with water. I've never experienced anything like that, how can you offer that to your customers?

So far I've only eaten the goulash soup there and it was great. The service is also ok. But what tops everything is the magnificent view! That alone makes it worth going there.

A fantastic spot to relax with a drink and some food, the views are breathtaking and watching the paragliders was great fun. They take card payments now and the prices were cheaper than i expected them to be.

The location and view are the best thing here, ideally as a starting point for hikes or for sunset. Tables dingy, menus worn out, toilets almost unreasonable. As a precaution, I didn't eat anything. Very unfortunate.
