Let me start from the beginning We made a reservation by phone and showed up at the appointed time. We were the first guests, and the restaurant was completely empty. We were shown to a table without being given the opportunity to choose where we wanted to sit (usually this is normal, but other guests who came after us were all given the opportunity to choose which table they wanted to sit at). A waiter came up to us and asked us to order drinks first, despite the fact that we did not have a menu in hand, and as it turned out later - there were no drinks on the menu at all. Having no idea what drinks they had, we simply ordered water (not knowing what kind and how much it cost). They brought us water, and then a minute later, a menu. The atmosphere was very strange. We were the only guests in this small restaurant, but there were 2 waiters serving us. One of them said that if we were hungry, it was worth ordering 4 dishes per person to get full. (As it turned out, to leave this place at least a little full, you need to eat all 8 or even 10 dishes at once). My girlfriend ordered 3 dishes (salad, main course, dessert). I ordered 2 main courses. Food: The portions are small. Just like they pour you a sip of wine in a glass so you can try it, that's how the portions are. Overall, it's tasty, but not exactly "wow." Interesting, beautiful, tasty, but not amazing, given that the prices are not cheap at all. The salad was just disappointing. By the way, there is no wine list either, or they didn't offer it to us, so I just skip the wine part. There was a board with some wines on the wall at the entrance, but it was in another room, and I didn't want to run around. Guests started arriving, and it became a little more comfortable since we were sitting alone in an empty restaurant, and the interior there was, to put it mildly, not very fancy. White walls, a couple of strange colored paintings, and that's it. In general, it's pretty dull. Different waiters brought and took away food and dishes from the table, again. Since there is no drink card, we ordered beer (yes, beer in such a place, because we were not offered wine, and beer is a sure bet). There was no coaster for a glass of beer, and the entire table was in wet "mugs" from a cold glass of beer. The bill was about 140€ including a 10% tip. We left disappointed. A very specific place, far from for everyone. We had been to other "similar" restaurants of the same level before, and it was always good. Unfortunately, not this time. not an unimportant factor: we were offered bread and butter, which we happily agreed to. In the end, it was never brought to us, and it was sad to see how everyone was eating delicious bread and butter, but we were not.

We went to Macionga for dinner with the family. There were 13 dishes in small portions that you could put together according to your mood as a starter, intermediate course, etc. We thought this idea was very good. The children chose 3 courses and my wife and I chose 4 including wine accompaniment. The food was excellent. Very boldly seasoned with great sauces and a very nice presentation. My favorite was the tartare, which was accompanied in 3 small courses with 3 corresponding wines. A dream ! My wife liked the Castelfranco salad best with its spicy note and the children especially liked the roast beef with the super tasty jus and the scallop. We were all very happy with this great evening. Service was top, the wines were all good accompaniments and the food was great.

We decided on the 5 course tasting menu with a wine pairing. Every dish was as delicious as it was beautiful. The staff was welcoming and helpful and every pairing was well explained to us. One course even unlocked a childhood memory for my fiancé. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any one looking for a lovely dining experience with amazing food and wine.

It is better to check the bill carefully, because we had no bread and butter; however, they are listed on the bill. The wine accompaniment is generally much better than the food itself.

Exceptionally good food, very good service, outstanding wine selection

The chef definitely knows how to build flavor in a dish. The service was average, three people served our table chaotically, I don't like it. Restaurant decor - we need to work on lighting to create a better atmosphere. For the taste of the dishes you should definitely visit this restaurant, for the rest you need to work on it.

Es ist der zweite Besuch. Ich finde die Athmosphäre des Restaurants angenehm. Den Service empfand ich aufgesetzt und überheblich. Die Portionen zum Essen sind mini. Die Fischsuppe fand ich wenig überzeugend, eine kleine Scheibe leicht versalzenen Weißfisch, 1 ! Muschel und etwas Austernschaum in einer unspektaulären lauwarmen Suppe, die mit Fisch wenig zu tun hatte. Die Papada belotta war sehr gut, zu wenig. Etwas Beilagen wären sicherlich sinnvoll. Die Schokoladentarte schmeckte mir nicht, zu fest. Die Mousse schmeckte nach nichts und die Brombeeren waren geschmacksneutral. Kritik interessierte nicht. Die Weine wie beschrieben sehr hochpreisig. Insgesamt ein hochpreisiges Weinlokal mit kleinen Snacks.

the food was mostly OK, but nothing special and the tomato salad was bad- it was drowning in tamarind sauce that absolutely overwhelmed any flavor of fresh tomatoes. the dishes were tiny and cost a lot. we ended up ordering bread and butter, which they don't even make themselves, in order to be full after 100 euros per person. I will not return and expect the restaurant will not be around in another year.

Excellent food with outstanding wines. The wine list is very well curated and the number and variety of wines available by the glass are certainly almost unique in the capital, especially in terms of quality. Here, wine and food definitely meet on equal terms, which is unfortunately far too rare. In the end, as a guest at the Macionga restaurant, you only face one problem: you want to eat more and more and, above all, drink more and more ;) We were very impressed and will always be happy to come back.

We ate very well and received a very friendly welcome. The service was attentive. The ambience is tasteful. Interesting pictures in the guest room and especially in the toilets provide something to talk about in the evening. If people visit the restaurant accompanied by little people, they may have questions for their grandparents after using the toilet. We thought it was great. Whether our stay was nice overall, there was one point: We do not consume alcohol, not even in food. It is completely clear to me that with long cooking times the alcohol is essentially no longer in the dish. What some other people probably don't realize is the fact that, especially in addictions, taste can be a massive trigger for a relapse. Any person who has ever fought a battle with active addiction knows how important it is to stay away from these trigger points. I think it's a shame that this awareness is still not present today and that the "the alcohol is gone" approach is so common in the catering industry. So when people come to the restaurant and ask specific questions, please simply indicate the dishes that are prepared without alcohol.

...so ist der Name eines der vom Betreiber André Macionga höchstpersönlich in Zusammenarbeit mit dem fränkischen Spitzenwinzer Horst Sauer kreierten Weins. Nachdem Macionga ja zuvor lange Jahre als Sommelier bei Tim Raue tätig war, wollten wir das in Wilmersdorf neu eröffnete Restaurant natürlich unbedingt mal ausprobieren. Und wir waren begeistert: ein hervorragendes Menü (sie sollten keinesfalls das Rindertatar versäumen!) und eine spannende Weinkarte. Auch der aufmerksame und freundliche Service darf hier nicht unerwähnt bleiben. Wir kommen sicher wieder, vor allem da man auch nur auf ein Glas Wein an der Theke des Restaurants willkommen ist. Wir hatten uns übrigens nicht für den "Es ist wie es ist" entschieden, sondern für eine Flasche Viognier vom Château de Montfaucon, den wir wärmstens empfehlen können!

I had a great champagne lunch at André Macionga's. The pairing, the service and the quality of the food were perfect. His own wine creations are particularly recommended.

There were four of us. Maybe first the positive. The service was very nice, helpful and spontaneous. The waiter's comment that it would take at least four courses to fill you up was correct. The food that was served was really great. The cauliflower and the bee sting will never be forgotten. Terrific. And why only four stars? We decided on the wine accompaniment. We didn't really take note of the price information. But it said “from” €10.00. You don't want to be petty, but it should be possible to be more precise about what to expect. Admittedly, the wines went well with the food, but considering it was over 30 degrees outside, couldn't they have found something lighter? We were glad we only had 4 courses.

We had 2 courses each, meaning 2 tapas. The tartar did not taste like tartar. The chicken sauce was quite salty. The red sauce by the pork neck was such salty that we couldn't even taste it. Best part was wine, bread and butter.

Excellent food prepared by an ambitious kitchen, exceptional selection of great wines, mostly appropriately priced, though there are some at the lower end of the price spectrum and a large number in which the restaurant owner has taken a personal interest in its production; attentive and polite service. The atmosphere is ideally suited to invite people for long winter evenings. There aren't that many restaurants in the world that offer this range of wines, and for connoisseurs, who want to enjoy the wine over and above the food, this is a clear reason to come here. That is not to diminish the food, just to say, that wine lovers' eyes will glaze over with anticipation when they consult the wine list, and they would wish that both their lives and their pecuniary resources would last long enough to enjoy a small part of what is on offer.

Based on the other reviews, we must have had a bad day. In terms of taste, the food was okay but not special. The portion sizes are an absolute joke. 100 euros (just for food) are unlikely to fill you up. Reordering is no fun at all because the waiters don't feel like doing their job. I asked for wine 7 times and still left the restaurant without wine. Mind you, the store should have its own winery, so the passion for wine should definitely be there and therefore the desire to bring this wine to the customer. In a store that's "schicki micki" and exclusive, something like that simply can't happen. However, my overall impression of the restaurant was significantly lowered by the poor service.

Kreatives und sehr gutes Essen auf Sterneniveau, fantastische, genau auf das Essen abgestimmte Weine und tolle alkoholfreie Getränkebegleitung. Service perfekt. Unbedingt hingehen!

Wir waren insgesamt zu viert. Das Lokal zeichnet sich durch ein evtl. etwas zu dunkel geratenes, aber ansonsten angenehmem Ambiente aus. Der Service war allenthalben freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen kam in absoluten Miniportionen, noch kleiner als in mancher Tapasbar. Auch vom qualitativen Wareneinsatz hält man sich vornehm zurück. Edles vom Rind, Wagyu, oder Kaisergranat etc. sucht man vergebens. Auch Brot gibt's vorab nur auf gesonderte Bestellung und wird zusätzlich berechnet. Vorab als Supplement kommt nicht aus der Küche. Auch geschmacklich konnte die Küchenleistung nur bedingt überzeugen. Tatar war noch der beste Gang, neben einem Seehecht. Das Angebot an offenen Weinen; auch fur die sog. Berliner Verhältnisse preislich einfach exorbitant. Um nicht falsch verstanden zu werden, das Essen war keinesfalls schlecht, es fehlte aber insgesamt der Wow-Effekt. Wir werden einmal die weitere Entwicklung abwarten, und zwischenzeitlich die in Berlin ausreichend vorhandenen Restaurants mit Stern besuchen, um auf der sicheren Seite zu sein.

It was our first time with friends to go to the generally friendly-looking restaurant, which may seem a bit too dark to some people. The "Welcome" was friendly and remained attentive throughout the evening. There is no classic division of the dishes into starters and main courses. Everything has the same portion size, to put it bluntly, at most the size you would find in a tapas bar. If the restaurant ever gets into financial difficulties, it can absolutely not have been due to the use of goods. Products such as Wagyu or Carabieneros etc. are completely avoided. Bread and butter must be ordered separately, and the "greetings from the kitchen" that is otherwise obligatory in many places is not available Ultimately, only the tartare and the hake with black pudding were convincing in terms of taste. With the other menu items, such as the braised veal shoulder (approx. 60g), you get the impression that you already want it, only with the taste implementation you have it. The wine accompaniment is brought to you by the patron, so to speak, by "Ordre de Mufti"; there is no explanation as to why this particular wine should go with this or that menu item. The price level of the wine tour is also “exorbitant”. Conclusion: Attractive ambience, pleasant service, mini portions with sometimes only average presentation in terms of taste, and together with an exorbitant price structure for the open wines, only "average" in terms of price/performance ratio. There are far better places in Berlin for the same or even less money.

Zuletzt im Februar drinnen gesessen. Nun, am bisher heißesten Tag des Jahres in Berlin, draußen ein viergängiges Überraschungsmenü genussvoll verzehrt. Begleitet von 2 Fläschchen der süffigen „Madame Gigi Blanc“, im Eis liegend, die sehr köstlich waren und zudem budgetfreundlich kalkuliert. Sehr, sehr angenehmer Service. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Schönes Restaurant mit toller Weinkarte. Gutes kreatives Essen, jedoch kleine Portionen. Unaufmerksamer Service. Wir waren zu eher später Stunde mit Kindern da und mussten sehr lange auf das Essen (und etwas Brot im Voraus) warten. Schade.

The menu was so delicious, the price was absolutely affordable, and the wine accompaniment was absolutely great! We were very satisfied and would like to come back. We came as a party of 6 with a Sunday night reservation. The staff were impeccable, especially Pascal. The food came out on-time, extremely well-presented, and the staff took the utmost care in making sure all of our dietary needs were satisfied. The beers kept their heads, the wine was supreme, and overall, this was one of he best dining experiences I've had in Berlin. Small, intimate space with adjustable lighting. Thank you!

Food, wine and service were very good. However, the portions were noticeably small. In a fine restaurant you don't expect to eat your fill. But a main course eaten with two spoons is very poor, even in fine dining. In any case, it tasted good.

We're probably not the target group, but for us it was way too expensive for what you get. The portions are tiny and there are no real main courses. We paid €130 and weren't nearly full. The taste was also average.

André Macionga ist ein wundervoller Gastgeber. Das Essen ist sehr gut, die Weine sind ein Traum!! Raritäten, fair bereits. Vieles steht nicht auf der Karte, einfach fragen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Es war fast perfekt, nur am Ende dauerte es zu lang bis zum Dessert. Dennoch unbedingt muss man dort hin, ein Erlebnis was Essen und Wein angeht. Freu mich auf das nächste Mal!!!

Andre Macionga (a Berliner with supposedly Andalusian ancestors) has found space for his restaurant not far from the Ku’damm. That was a good decision for me. After I had made the last phone calls, the lovely person who poured me more wine and water went to the stelee and didn't let that stop him during the evening. It was a lovely five courses, with a fine tartare, the onion with the finest sauce, the glassy prawns with a fine sauce (can also be used as a soup) and finally the fluffy almond ice cream (and almond panacotta). You can get involved with the surprise menu. The origins of AM are evident in the wine list, or rather the wine book - simply great - even if I haven't tried the cuvées that the host makes with a variety of winemakers. The fact that I had chosen two wines on the menu that were drunk was worth it when a fine Burgundy ended up on the table and then in my stomach. The atmosphere is relaxed/casual and you always feel comfortable.

Tolle Weine, leckere ambitionierte Küche, aufmerksames nettes Personal, absolute Empfehlung.

Alle Gerichte schmeckten hervorragend und wurden mit guter, kurzer Erklärung serviert. Wir stellten die vier bzw. drei Gänge selbst zusammen, um auch verschiedene Gerichte zu probieren. Die Portionen waren sättigend, nur für das Verkosten durch den Anderen leider etwas knapp, um alle Nuancen der Soßen Kombination mit Fleisch bzw. Beilage voll zu 'erhaschen'. Man möchte ja mehr Erschmecken beim Taste/Testen an einem Abend. "Sauerkraut Soße/Sauce" sehr gut zum Kräuter-Schwein. Schade, dass ein paar Komponenten zur Karte ohne Erwähnung beim Erklären/Präsentieren im Gericht ausgetauscht/ersetzt wurden, vielleicht saisonal bedingt. Himbeeren statt Brombeeren, Johannesbeeren statt .. Es hat trotzdem gemundet und war gut, und auf Nachfragen angezeigt.

Hervorragend kuratierte Weinkarte mit sehr vielen Neuentdeckungen, verschieden Stilen, zwischen attraktiv bezahlbaren bis hin zu hohen Preislagen der Ausnahmeweine. Für jede/n Geschmack und Geldbeutel findet sich hier etwas Passendes/ Gutes. Der Weiße und Rote von Maciongas „Madame Gigi“ haben uns sehr gefallen, wie auch die offene, weiße Cuvee Monfort vom Disibodenberg. Die kleinen Gerichte sind äußerst fein und lecker und ein 4 Gang Menü sollte es sein, z.B. haben uns Carpaccio, Wildfanggarnele, Lamm und abschließend eine Apfeltarte sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Atmosphäre ist äußerst angenehm und ergibt sich aus einem gelungenen Ambiente des Restaurants, der leichten Musik im Hintergrund, in Kombination mit einem wunderbar entspannten Service, der gekonnt die perfekt temperierten Weine und die Speisenfolge erläutert und sich als freundlicher Gastgeber erweist, dem das Wohl der Besucher ein aufrichtiges Anliegen ist. Ein Wohlfühl-Restaurant, das ab jetzt auf unserer Berliner Favoritenliste weit oben steht.

Delicious food, amazing wine list and impeccable service. Love that you can choose between a menu, several individual courses and sharing. Absolutely worth a star!

After reading an excellent review by Jürgen Dollase in the FAZ, we tried our luck and were not disappointed! The atmosphere is warm and uncomplicated, and the wine accompaniment is always appropriate and of a wide variety. The glazed kohlrabi and the ox cheeks were particularly memorable, the cheese plate perfectly rounded off a complete taste experience, the service was impeccable and helpful and humorous in a very pleasant way. We felt transported to another, relaxed world for three hours. Thanks to the efforts of the entire crew, we were also able to have a wonderful evening on our second visit - it was a complete success and we went home happy! What more could you expect from an evening like this?! We will definitely come back!

This eatery exudes elegance in service, interior, and cuisine. With small tasting plates, 2-3 per person recommended, each dish presents a flavorful and distinct experience. The beef tartar and skrei were outstanding and highly recommended dishes. The dining journey is exciting and surprising, complemented by highly recommended wines from their vineyards—complex, elegant, and easy to drink. A truly enjoyable and refined culinary escape.

Wow! The food was lovingly and artistically prepared and tasted excellent. We also had the wine accompaniment, which went very well with the individual courses and was presented in a friendly and interesting way. For a moment we were mentally on the French Atlantic coast. Thanks!

Tolles Restaurant mit toller Weinkarte und guten Weinempfehlungen

Fantastisch! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall bald wieder!

Es war ein rumdum gelungener Abend: schöne, entspannte dennoch elegante Ambiente, sehr nette Bedienung, hervorragende Weinauswahl mit kompetenter Beratung und sehr kreatives Essen. Allerdings war ich mit dem Sellerie-Gericht nicht ganz zufrieden, weil der Chilli-Geschmack zu dominant war. Wir kommen wieder!

What a beautiful evening! This was our second time at Macionga and we liked it even more than the first time! Not having to decide whether to have a starter makes the evening very varied. Every dish is the same size and so there can be one more course ☺️ This time we also had an excellent wine pairing from a very nice and competent “sommelier”. Since Mr. Macionga usually makes the wine selection himself, I don't know whether there is a second sommelier. We were served in a very friendly manner throughout the evening; no wish remained unfulfilled, apart from the 1 liter of jus 😉. Every course tasted excellent, so I can't recommend it. We would love to come back!

In between, André asked whether the walk had been fun - you're only briefly surprised at the wording, because that's exactly what it was - fun. Great fun, in fact, every single course with the matching wine was an experience. Be sure to drink wine with your meal and trust the recommendations. I can't remember the last time I had such a well-rounded, relaxed, hospitable and exorbitantly good restaurant experience. That was also due to the nice service. At the same time, the price-performance ratio is very good; we also didn't ask for the prices of the recommended wines and in the end they were very reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

Wir hatten einen tollen Abend mit sehr leckerem Essen. Wir haben zu zweit 5 Gerichte plus Nachtisch gegessen und es hat sehr gut gereicht. Ein Highlight war die Sellerie, die geschmorte Rinderschulter und die individuelle Weinbegleitung. Wir waren selten in einem Restaurant, in dem jeder einzelne Wein (wir haben nur offener Weine probiert) so unfassbar lecker war. Vielen Dank!!!
