Restaurant Macionga in Berlin

Wir hatten das Restaurant André Macionga mehrere Monate im Voraus für ein wichtiges Geschäftsessen reserviert und die geforderte Anzahlung geleistet. Leider war das Restaurant bei der Ankunft unserer Gäste geschlossen. Fehler können zwar passieren, doch besonders enttäuschend war der Umgang mit der Situation im Nachhinein. Als wir am Abend unserer Reservierung im Restaurant anriefen, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass keine Reservierung vorliege, obwohl wir eine schriftliche Bestätigung hatten. Das Gespräch war wenig hilfreich und endete, ohne dass versucht wurde, den Sachverhalt zu klären oder eine Lösung anzubieten. Es bedurfte mehrerer Nachfragen per E-Mail und Telefon, bis wir endlich eine Antwort erhielten. Obwohl sich das Restaurant schließlich entschuldigte und unsere Anzahlung zurückerstattete, wurde uns keine klare Erklärung für den Vorfall gegeben. Unser Problem war daher nicht der Fehler an sich, sondern vielmehr die mangelnde Kommunikation, die fehlende Verantwortlichkeit und der unzureichende Kundenservice während des gesamten Prozesses. Angesichts des guten Rufs des Restaurants hatten wir eine deutlich professionellere Abwicklung erwartet. Insgesamt also eine sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung.

Für mich aktuell eines, wenn nicht das beste Restaurant in Berlin. Perfekter Service, großartiges Essen und tolle Weine aus eigener Kollektion. Danke André Macionga und Team

Wir waren am Montag, den 10. Juni da. Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Sehr nettes Team und der Chef ist ein toller Gastgeber. Auch ein später Änderungswunsch wurde perfekt umgesetzt. Das Essen war beim schwächsten Gericht immer noch gut, das meiste Essen hervorragend. Die Weinkarte zeigt nicht nur das Herr Macionga sich mit Weinen gut auskennt und in der Weinwelt spitzenäßig vernetzt ist. Die vielen Sonderpositionen auf der Karte, die man scheinbar nirgendwo anders findet sind ein absolutes Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Das alleine ist für mich ein Grund zur Rückkehr. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder!

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit ausgesprochen angenehmer Bedienung und gutem Essen. Insbesondere der Spargel und das Kalb waren wunderbar. Alles auf den Punkt perfekt zubereitet.

Die Idee ist super, nur der Service lässt zu wünschen übrig. Wir warteten 16 Minuten auf die Speisekarte und 30 Minuten auf den Wein. Ich arbeite in der Weinbranche in Barcelona und besuche wöchentlich Restaurants dieser Kategorie. Das Essen war mit 7 von 10 Punkten durchaus gut für Berliner Verhältnisse. Der Wein war nicht umwerfend, und ich hatte keine Lust auf ein zweites Glas. Ich fühlte mich aber auch nicht besonders willkommen. Die Bedienung ist nicht sehr aufmerksam (wir waren eine deutschsprachige Gruppe, es lag also nicht daran, dass wir als Touristen anders behandelt wurden), und es herrscht eine gehörige Portion Arroganz ohne jeglichen Charme. Wenn es Ihnen nichts ausmacht, auf Begrüßung und Bedienung zu warten, können Sie hier ein paar Gerichte genießen. Ich glaube nicht, dass dieses Restaurant jemals einen Gault-Millau- oder Michelin-Stern bekommen wird (falls sie das überhaupt anstreben), allein schon wegen des seltsamen Service.

Die Speisen waren einfach outstanding. Die Aromen, Gewürze, Essenzen, die Zubereitung, die Präsentation wirklich hervorragend. Z.B. der Rimderbraten so geschmackvoll und so weich. Man brauchte fast kein Messer. Der Service sehr nett, freundlich, entgegenkommend, sehr sehr angenehm. Die Weinbegleitung war überwiegend gut ausgewählt, passte meistens sehr gut zum Essen. Die Preise für den Wein empfanden wir als übertrieben. Es war ein Erlebnis, was zum Wiederkommen einlädt

Wir waren im Rahmen des Feinschmeckerfestivals "eat! Berlin" für ein festes 6-Gänge-Menü mit Weinbegleitung im Restaurant Macionga. Die Gänge und die Weine dazu waren gut bis hervorragend. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Ambiente ist ansprechend. Empfehlenswert.

Hier stimmte einfach alles! Köstliches Essen, wobei jeder Gang in Erinnerung bleiben wird kombiniert mit der oerfekten Weinbegleitung. Alles vom kompetenten Service serviert und erklärt in einem sehr schönen Ambiente.

Das Essen war insgesamt in Ordnung, aber nichts Besonderes, vor allem für den Preis. Der Service hingegen war unterirdisch. Nach unserer Ankunft dauerte es etwa 15 Minuten und zwei Nachfragen, bis wir endlich eine Speisekarte bekamen. Für ein Restaurant mit Weinschwerpunkt waren die Weinempfehlungen sehr oberflächlich. Man hatte den Eindruck, der Oberkellner sei mehr daran interessiert, mit Freunden Wein zu trinken, als sich um die Gäste zu kümmern, und der jüngere Kellner war zwar freundlich, aber sichtlich überfordert. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert.

Wir hatten einmal das große Menü und einige Gerichte a la Card Zusammenfassung: gut, allerdings zu teuer für die Geschmackstiefe und für den eher geringen den Wareneinsatz. Trotz Menü habe ich mir - eine zierliche Frau - zu Hause angekommen noch ein Brot gemacht. Würden wir wieder kommen: vielleicht Service ist sehr freundlich, man sollte aber lieber nicht „widersprechen“ Ambiente: modernes Restaurant, allerdings roch es die gesamte Zeit nicht sehr gut Weine: gute Weine zu akzeptablen Glaspreisen, mitunter zu hochprozentig (14,5%) Essen: insgesamt gute Qualität mit Luft nach oben bei einigen Gerichten Positiv: das Hühnerfrikassee und Kabeljau; Negativ: das Tatar mit den Gurkenstücken ohne Brot, Insgesamt: Portionen sind zum Teil zu klein, etwas zu viel Chichi/ Getue beim Präsentieren der Gänge

This place completely redefines German food culture and makes it worth pursuing. The elegant balance and respect for each simple ingredient in each dish is world class. And the wine paring is cheeky but spot on. Not cheap but it’s an experience.

The food is very good, we definitely would go again. The good is you can choose our own dishes, in case you are not that hungry. We were there again and tried the chicken fricassee with truffles, it's wonderful, next time I'll order it 3 times.

It's a lovely restaurant with a small lunch menu. The service is very attentive, and the wine recommendations pair perfectly with the dishes. First, a tartare with gherkins, which provide that umami note, followed by a fish with crispy skin and a small cheese selection with good whole-grain bread. It's a shame the room is so dark... Don’t go. Rude service, slow, tasteless. Over charged for dessert as we wanted to take away given we were still hungry and service was too slow we wanted to go else where. Half the party left due to this. Food that was prepared but not eaten still charged for but we weren’t allowed to take with us. Manager was rude and started shouting at guests. Despicable.

The worst chicken I've ever tasted in my life. The rice is not just salty, it's just rancid. The chicken has some kind of unpleasant smell. My friends liked everything, I won't say anything bad about the other suggestions. But in my case - it was just awful.

If, like us, you're from Baden-Württemberg, where practically every building has a Michelin-starred restaurant, the Macionga seems a bit "modest" in comparison. We didn't have a bad meal, but the wow factor never really materialized. Furthermore, the wine pairing is "exorably" overpriced. Overall, this is the weakest of the restaurants we visited in Berlin.

A fantastic evening at Macionga Berlin Restaurant. Hand-carved beef tartare with sesame, white radish cream, pickled cucumbers, and sensational beef essence. Simply perfect! Yellowtail mackerel lightly treated with honeydew melon, buttermilk lettuce broth, and a crispy finish was hard to beat in this combination. Stuffed sourdough calzone with hazelnut mushroom duxelles and grape shiitake mushroom consomme was a full-blown explosion of flavor. Confit Iberico pork chin with roasted chorizo ​​and cream, smoked paprika, and blood orange sauce. All the senses of smell and taste were stimulated, a dream. Sea bass with shellfish foam, lentils, and confit tomatoes. This dish was so harmonious in itself, I can't add anything, as was the wine recommendation from owner André Macionga. Unique chicken fricassee by chef Christopher Wecker with fragrant rice, walnut, and truffle. The poultry Madeira sauce alone was a poem, accompanied by the perfectly cooked guinea fowl breast, juicy and crispy. Sensational! Thai basil sorbet with rhubarb, strawberry, and lychee. A summery, fresh dessert for foodies, or those who want to become one, simply delicious. Conclusion: An exceptional gourmet restaurant without a Michelin star (Hard to believe), you should definitely order the six-course menu for under €100. This was my second visit to eat and drink here in a very short space of time – and I have to say: I'm thrilled! Given the name Macionga, it's easy to assume that the focus is primarily on the drinks. And indeed: The drinks are outstanding – but the cuisine is also absolutely impressive. Christopher Wecker's cooking style undoubtedly bears the signature of his mentor, Tim Raue – the spicy Asian influence is particularly unmistakable. At the same time, a very unique and exciting culinary direction is developing here, especially in conjunction with the excellently matched drinks. Whether it's the evening menu with thoughtful wine pairings or the creative events like the champagne lunch – the overall concept is convincing across the board. It appeals to a broad target audience: from ambitious gourmets who want to experience the restaurant before it's awarded a star, to connoisseurs who simply want to enjoy outstanding cuisine with great wines, sparkling wines, and original in-house creations. Great! — I'm looking forward to the next time!

Außergewöhnliches Menü, optisch wunderschön angerichtet. Schönes Ambiente, sehr netter Gastgeber. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend mit wunderbarem Essen. Einziges Manko: Die Portionen könnten etwas größer sein, bzw. es könnte mehr Brot gereicht werden. Wir gehen oft sehr gut essen (auch in Sterne-Restaurants) und die meisten haben es sehr gut im Griff, dass man nicht hungrig nach Hause geht. Hier kann das Macionga noch optimieren. Ansonsten war alles top, wir werden wiederkommen wenn wir in Berlin sind.

Super cozy atmosphere, like sitting in the living room. The staff is super attentive and friendly. I think the basic idea of ​​putting together your own menu using a modular system from a selection of dishes is great and is certainly a good option for some people with extra wishes. There is also good advice in which order it should be served. But the menu designed by the kitchen was also really well coordinated and you can notice the attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of everything. The accompanying, professionally selected and presented wine accompaniment completed the experience and crowned the evening. Thank you very much, we will be back.

Wonderful evening, every course a pleasure. I didn't take any photos on the first visit, so here are my detailed impressions on the second visit. The “Mushroom Calzone” is super original and is a cross between a dumpling (shape) and a spring roll (texture). Very tasty in combination with the consomme and sherry of the wine accompaniment. The fricassee chicken has a perfectly crispy fried skin and in combination with the truffle and the incredibly delicious Madeira sauce it is a great upscaled comfort food course to eat. And also the confit Iberico with the three "toppings" which was wonderful, tender, crunchy, spicy, creamy and flattering. The wine accompaniment was of course again a bench and there was a nice mix of our own cuvees and third-party wines at the table. All in all, it was a great evening and (rightly!) I think I can see clear ambitions here. We would definitely like to come back.

Let me start from the beginning We made a reservation by phone and showed up at the appointed time. We were the first guests, and the restaurant was completely empty. We were shown to a table without being given the opportunity to choose where we wanted to sit (usually this is normal, but other guests who came after us were all given the opportunity to choose which table they wanted to sit at). A waiter came up to us and asked us to order drinks first, despite the fact that we did not have a menu in hand, and as it turned out later - there were no drinks on the menu at all. Having no idea what drinks they had, we simply ordered water (not knowing what kind and how much it cost). They brought us water, and then a minute later, a menu. The atmosphere was very strange. We were the only guests in this small restaurant, but there were 2 waiters serving us. One of them said that if we were hungry, it was worth ordering 4 dishes per person to get full. (As it turned out, to leave this place at least a little full, you need to eat all 8 or even 10 dishes at once). My girlfriend ordered 3 dishes (salad, main course, dessert). I ordered 2 main courses. Food: The portions are small. Just like they pour you a sip of wine in a glass so you can try it, that's how the portions are. Overall, it's tasty, but not exactly "wow." Interesting, beautiful, tasty, but not amazing, given that the prices are not cheap at all. The salad was just disappointing. By the way, there is no wine list either, or they didn't offer it to us, so I just skip the wine part. There was a board with some wines on the wall at the entrance, but it was in another room, and I didn't want to run around. Guests started arriving, and it became a little more comfortable since we were sitting alone in an empty restaurant, and the interior there was, to put it mildly, not very fancy. White walls, a couple of strange colored paintings, and that's it. In general, it's pretty dull. Different waiters brought and took away food and dishes from the table, again. Since there is no drink card, we ordered beer (yes, beer in such a place, because we were not offered wine, and beer is a sure bet). There was no coaster for a glass of beer, and the entire table was in wet "mugs" from a cold glass of beer. The bill was about 140€ including a 10% tip. We left disappointed. A very specific place, far from for everyone. We had been to other "similar" restaurants of the same level before, and it was always good. Unfortunately, not this time. not an unimportant factor: we were offered bread and butter, which we happily agreed to. In the end, it was never brought to us, and it was sad to see how everyone was eating delicious bread and butter, but we were not.

We went to Macionga for dinner with the family. There were 13 dishes in small portions that you could put together according to your mood as a starter, intermediate course, etc. We thought this idea was very good. The children chose 3 courses and my wife and I chose 4 including wine accompaniment. The food was excellent. Very boldly seasoned with great sauces and a very nice presentation. My favorite was the tartare, which was accompanied in 3 small courses with 3 corresponding wines. A dream ! My wife liked the Castelfranco salad best with its spicy note and the children especially liked the roast beef with the super tasty jus and the scallop. We were all very happy with this great evening. Service was top, the wines were all good accompaniments and the food was great.

We decided on the 5 course tasting menu with a wine pairing. Every dish was as delicious as it was beautiful. The staff was welcoming and helpful and every pairing was well explained to us. One course even unlocked a childhood memory for my fiancé. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any one looking for a lovely dining experience with amazing food and wine.

Die Weinkarte ist grandios. Leider sind die Portionen der Speisen nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Die Zeiten, dass man nach einem Restaurantbesuch noch eine Currywurst essen muss sollten vorbei sein

The chef definitely knows how to build flavor in a dish. The service was average, three people served our table chaotically, I don't like it. Restaurant decor - we need to work on lighting to create a better atmosphere. For the taste of the dishes you should definitely visit this restaurant, for the rest you need to work on it.

Es ist der zweite Besuch. Ich finde die Athmosphäre des Restaurants angenehm. Den Service empfand ich aufgesetzt und überheblich. Die Portionen zum Essen sind mini. Die Fischsuppe fand ich wenig überzeugend, eine kleine Scheibe leicht versalzenen Weißfisch, 1 ! Muschel und etwas Austernschaum in einer unspektaulären lauwarmen Suppe, die mit Fisch wenig zu tun hatte. Die Papada belotta war sehr gut, zu wenig. Etwas Beilagen wären sicherlich sinnvoll. Die Schokoladentarte schmeckte mir nicht, zu fest. Die Mousse schmeckte nach nichts und die Brombeeren waren geschmacksneutral. Kritik interessierte nicht. Die Weine wie beschrieben sehr hochpreisig. Insgesamt ein hochpreisiges Weinlokal mit kleinen Snacks.

Das kulinarische Erlebnis war gut, allerdings durch den Service stark eingetrübt. Daher in Summe leider nicht Preis-leistungsgerecht.

Es war ein tolles Essen, sehr gemütliches Restaurant und eine unglaubliche Vielfalt an Weinen. Sehr bemühtes und freundliches Personal. Preis Leistung ebenfalls toll.

Exzellent wines, wonderful food and very kind and competent service. Unfortunately the portions are very small. And under the low ceilings it gets very loud, especially at the end of the evening when everyone had two or three wines.

We had a wonderful evening in the Macionga restaurant. The food was perfect and the ambience was really nice. We were very happy with the service staff - they were very knowledgeable about the food and wines and gave us very good recommendations (wines, digestif, number of courses). I recommend the 5-course menu. We will recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back!

The service was very friendly. The food was excellent , even though one of the jus was a little to salty for my taste. The wine selection was great . Esp the Macionga Cuvée #9 was amazing.
