I got two hot chocolates for the children and we watched the Christmas market from above. It's really beautiful here and super friendly – ​​top-notch!

Typical German cuisine...simply delicious

We were there on Saturday, November 15th, and received a very warm welcome. The menu offers a delicious selection, including some seasonal dishes. We particularly enjoyed the goulash in dark gooseberry sauce and the veal schnitzel. Everything was perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, and piping hot; we were very impressed. The evening was also capped off with a marriage proposal ☺️

We had lunch here for the first time today. Our daughter was given something to color in to pass the time while we waited – a lovely idea! The food was good, the prices were reasonable, and the view was truly beautiful. The service was friendly. Overall, a pleasant experience; we'd gladly come again.

We were there with a larger group. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was superb. However, the waitress (an older gentleman) was incredibly arrogant. He tapped you on the shoulder if you didn't respond immediately. Thirty minutes after arriving, our drinks orders were finally taken. In between, there was no response regarding reordering. Smug reactions to the guests' questions. He walked away during the order. Empty glasses were left unnoticed by him. I've never experienced anything like that before. Disgraceful for such a place.

Sitting here in the middle of Potsdam, on Broadway, so to speak, and looking out over the rooftops is truly wonderful. The food is very good, but also quite expensive. Unfortunately, it's usually full, and you have to make a reservation in advance. The opening hours aren't exactly consumer-friendly either. Otherwise, I'd happily recommend it.

We (two people) went there for dinner and had a lovely evening. Very pleasant atmosphere, great view of Potsdam. Attentive, friendly service, and the quality of the food and drinks offered was good to mostly very good. Some guests without reservations were still accommodated despite a family celebration. I absolutely cannot understand the whining in the negative reviews. Anyone familiar with the restaurant industry knows that without a reservation, you're in for a tough time, especially at popular, smaller restaurants. We give it full marks!

Very good Prussian goulash, accompanied by the Doppio Passo, and prompt and competent service. They've learned their trade. So, very high quality. There were eight of us, and everyone was satisfied.

A lovely restaurant perched above the rooftops of the city center with a fantastic view of Potsdam. The service was also very attentive. However, the prices are beyond the pale. €24 for a salad, almost €10 for a bottle of seltzer... eating out isn't really any fun anymore! And there are hardly any options for vegetarians. What a shame!

A mega restaurant in the pizza, pasta, sushi, and kebab desert. Unfortunately (or thankfully) hard to find.

In any case, the only thing to keep in mind is the issue of cold drinks: if I'm drinking cream or beer at 8°C, I have to chill it to at least 6°C. And the drinks shouldn't be lukewarm. It's a waste of time to argue about it.

The food is very good, and the service is friendly, with a Prussian heart and a Berlin "snout." I highly recommend a visit to the Loft.

The restaurant is located above a sports shop on the third floor and has two terraces. The view is beautiful on both sides, and you can choose whether you want to sit on the sunny or shady side. The menu is very small, but the quality was very good. Unfortunately, the dishes were very limited, and even the side dishes were skimped on, making the price-performance ratio poor.

Yes and no. The food was okay for the price. But nothing more! Something I've never experienced in my life: The waiter who took the money (he hadn't even served us) said the following sentence because, in his opinion, we didn't tip enough: Were we not worth more to you? In a cheeky tone...that's unacceptable!

Always worth a visit. Very exclusive entrance. It goes from a very inconspicuous entrance with the elevator all the way up to the attic. Once at the top, a very well-kept and modern restaurant awaits you with a spacious interior and a beautiful outdoor area with a view. This place looks like a local restaurant without too many tourists. Waitress cannot speak English but sweet. We are not force of to give a specific percentage tips like other tourist restaurants. Food is okay.

A very successful evening. While looking for a place to have dinner, we came across the Loft online. When looking for the restaurant, you have to realize that the outside appearance is absolutely unfortunate and inconspicuous, but our courage to enter the restaurant anyway did not disappoint us at all. I went to the Loft with my family. It's not that they treated us poorly, it's that we have never had such bad service. It took them two hours to bring us the food and when they brought it to us, they brought it wrong and argued when we told them about it. They changed it twice and the third time my partner refused to eat it because it was still bad. To make matters worse, they charged us for extra food, adding the most expensive thing they had (steaks) to our bill, and were reluctant to change it when we told them about it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT, especially for tourists, they will try to take advantage.

Yesterday we once again had a very nice evening in the loft. All drinks and dishes have fantastic value for money and are extremely tasty. There is real craftsmanship and attention to detail in everything we ordered. What we particularly liked, among other things: 1) Pasta is NOT made with cream. We had the pasta with chanterelles and it was incredibly tasty and prepared in a way we have never eaten before. A real pleasure. 2) Zander fillet and side dishes perfectly presented. 3) Starters like chanterelle soup and goat cheese were great. 4) Desserts: The two of us ordered four in total because they were incredibly delicious. 5) The “portions are very decent”. Of course someone who reads this review won't get fed up, but 99% certainly will. There is NO saving here...! Added to this was the excellent, always friendly and attentive service from Ms. Vogel. The entire team and "the kitchen" do a really excellent job in this restaurant, so we are looking forward to our next visit. And also important: The tables are set up in such a way that you don't sit close to each other, but really have "peace and quiet".

Because of the good reviews, we decided to visit the restaurant. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Outside it didn't look like the pictures. The tables were not set and the tables were sticky. The food also disappointed us in terms of taste. For the price you can expect more. All in all, not recommended. Too bad for the restaurant.

Nice restaurant and nice ambience. We only drank here, so we can't rate the food. Visiting is only possible with a reservation. After we told the waitress that we just wanted to drink (which is actually OK in a restaurant/bar) we were already downstairs with the waitress. We ordered drinks and when I wanted to order another drink, I asked the waitress if she could recommend anything. Then I said a mushy: "I'm just running around here today, but I can bring you the card." That finished me off and I left. When it comes to service, I don't like it again.

We had a truly crowning conclusion to our stay in Potsdam in the loft. The waitresses are worth their weight in gold, we didn't have a reservation, but we got a table on the roof terrace facing the courtyard, with a time slot that was completely sufficient. The drinks and food came to the table extremely quickly. We were served attentively and kindly throughout. The food was really a poem. Brucetta and goat cheese as a starter - highly recommended. And the main course with veal liver and beef goulash according to the house recipe was a poem. Recommended without exception 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Das Restaurant war mässig besucht, dennoch warteten wir 1 Stunde auf unseren Hauptgang. Hier waren wir sehr enttäuscht, da uns niemand fragte ob alles in Ordnung sei während des Essens. Leider waren die Pfifferlinge total versalzen, das Wiener Schnitzel zäh, Das Würzfleisch hatte keine gebundene Sauce sondern war sehr wässrig und überhaupt nicht gewürzt. Die Weine waren nicht gut gekühlt und die Erdbeerbowle ebenfalls lauwarm. Wir haben uns mehr versprochen da wir im vergangenen Jahr hier sehr zufrieden waren. Es gab keine Entschuldigung vom Personal. jedenfalls kommen wir so schnell nicht wieder.

Went for the 90th birthday. Great ambience, very tasty food and very attentive, friendly top service. The staff was great, everyone liked it and most people would like to come back. We spent our first date there yesterday and were completely blown away. From the first impression when you come in to the moment you pay, it's just a great experience. The nice lady who served us was just lovely, the food was simply delicious and beautifully prepared. We will 100% come back and recommend it to others. BTW you have to try goat cheese as a starter. By far the best I've ever tried. A really big cinema!

We were there yesterday with 20 people. Despite our delay, we had an excellent meal. The staff is professional and super friendly. We recommend! Every time again, the view over Potsdam is also very beautiful.

We waited a ridiculous two hours for our dinner, and they messed up the meat twice, so we had to cancel our order. Then, they actually overcharged us twice, including for the dish we didn’t even eat, racking up over 250€. On top of it all, we kept getting into arguments with the staff over their mistakes. Despite all the hassle, they offered no compensation whatsoever. It was a really frustrating and disappointing experience.

It took them 1 hour and half to serve us the entry and the beers then 1 additional hour for the main course. We ate poorly. They took us for fools with the cooking of the meat. We ordered it rare and they served it well done. Instead of making it again, they just put the same meat back on the grill, making it even more overcooked. And to top it off, the waitresses claimed it was our fault? Then the bill was incorrect increasing the price of some dishes. The worst restaurant in Potsdam. If you want to have a good night, do not go to this restaurant.

Wir hatten am 14.05.2024 kurzfristig ein befreundetes Paar zu Besuch und wollten im Restaurant Loft, in Potsdam, essen gehen. Wir betraten die Gaststätte gegen 18.20 Uhr und sahen, dass einige Tische reserviert waren. Wir warteten am Eingang um platziert zu werden. Ich ging rechts auf den Balkon, wo einige Tische reserviert waren. Zwei Tische hinten links waren noch frei. Auf meine Frage hin, ob wir uns dort hinsetzen dürfen, wurde mir durch eine jüngere Kellnerin gesagt, dass auch diese Tische reserviert seien und zwar für eine Gruppe, welche schon im Innenbereich saß um dort zu speisen. Die Begründung durch die betreffende Kellnerin war, dass, wenn jemand aus dieser Gruppe rauchen wolle, doch auch dafür Plätze bereitgestellt werden müssen. Mir wurde dann auch mehrmals eine Visitenkarte angeboten und geraten doch das nächste Mal rechtzeitig eine Reservierung vorzunehmen. Während dieser Zeit bedauerte eine weitere Kellnerin, dass ihre Kollegin uns die freien Plätze auf dem Balkon nicht angeboten hatte. Sie ging davon aus, dass wir nur im Innenbereich platziert werden könnten. Die hinzukommende jüngere Kollegin betonte jedoch energisch, dass auch im Innenbereich keine Plätze mehr zur Verfügung stehen würden. Wir gingen sehr enttäuscht und verärgert raus und können als Resultat nur von weiteren, nicht reservierten, Besuchen dort abraten . Hätte diese Angestellte irgendwie angedeutet, dass eventuell zu wenig Personal vorhanden ist, wäre ein gewisses Verständnis unsererseits bestimmt dagewesen. Peter G.

Reserved a table with friends today. Everyone ate the house specialty - the Prussian goulash. We weren't promised too much. Was great. Disadvantage, "Greetings from the kitchen" came at the same time as the main course. But everything was still worth 5 stars. I wish the restaurant lots of nice customers.

We came in the evening in March and sat inside. There was nothing with a view, a shame. The service was smooth 1! I found the food for the 3 of us very different. I tried all three times and found it to be between 2 and 4 (according to school grades). I would love to come back again in the summer with the terrace open.

Food was good, service was very good and very friendly!

Anyone who enters the loft hopes to have a pleasant stay thanks to the pleasant ambience. The service staff then reinforce this impression with their friendliness. This impression remains until the ordered food arrives. The “greeting from the kitchen” in advance consisted of four thick slices of dried baguette served with a garlic dip, which of course tasted of garlic, nothing else. We couldn't think of anything more than a shrug of the shoulders. Certainly meant nicely, unfortunately not convincing. Then followed the main course, which for us consisted of a “steak au four” and a “beef fillet ala Strindberg”. Neither the steak nor the beef fillet impressed with its taste and sophistication in its preparation. The steak was extremely dry and the casing of the beef fillet left a rather mushy impression. The side dishes for both dishes consisted of frozen croquettes and frozen peas. Both side dishes were hard to beat in terms of simplicity in their preparation. On the positive side, the food was served on preheated plates. I would also like to point out that the online menu differs in some respects from the physical menu on site. In summary, all that remains for us to say at the end is that you have high expectations of yourself when it comes to ambience, service and price, but the food is far below this. Unfortunately, the loft is not an alternative for us in the future. Yvonne & Frank
