Top, very well eaten and the service was top. The fried veal boiled beef, absolutely unique. We will be happy to come back the next time we visit Freiburg.

We had a lovely girls' evening with delicious seasonal food and great wines. Very courteous, unobtrusive service. Pleasant atmosphere. Only the guest room and the toilets could use modernization. Otherwise everything was great.

Superb restaurant with friendly staff and a very good/varied menu. We enjoyed our first visit so much we came back a second time. On our first visit my husband had the whole seabass which he said was one of the best he had ever had. I had the zander fillet which was also very good. On our second visit my husband had the chicken breast with pumpkin risotto and I had the orange polenta with goats cheese and ratatouille, both were excellent. The apple strudel and blackcurrant sorbet were also excellent.

A very good restaurant away from the main arteries. Ideal for an intimate or family meal. I recommend the risotto or fish dishes in particular. Also taste the local wines.

Es gibt eine kleine Mittagskarte mit drei Gerichten zum Preis von 17,00 EUR bis 19,50 EUR inkl. Suppe oder Salat und Kaffee sowie 3 verschiedene Salatteller zwischen 22,50 EUR und 26,50 EUR. Gerichte von der Karte werden nicht angeboten. Es gibt 2 Desserts zur Auswahl (gutes Tiramisu und Apfelstrudel ohne Vanillesauce aber mit Vanilleeis). Es ist im kleinen Restaurant sehr eng und der Geräuschpegel ist hoch. Der Service ist freundlich, aber etwas laienhaft. Kreditkartenzahlung war aufgrund eines Defekts des Gerätes nicht möglich.

We loved the place, very authentic and friendly service. A great place for a long conversation with a good meal. The dishes were special, and it was clear and well-received that the chef likes to experiment and give something special to their customers.

Beautiful location, great food, good wines. The very friendly and professional staff had a challenge providing us thirsty guests with wine and water, but that is criticism at a high level. Every now and then there was a loud schnitzel knock coming from the kitchen, but we found it very nice in the restaurant.

If you’re an American person of color, especially a female solo traveler I do NOT recommend coming here! I went to have lunch and saw 6 empty tables. I stood waiting for a good few minutes while the waiters ignored my existance. When I asked for a table for 1 I was turned away and was told they are all reserved and they cannot serve me. How are 6 empty tables reserved yet no one is sitting there? I wasn’t planning on having an hour long lunch! I’m appalled at the service as I’ve never been turned away before by a restaurant and this feels very discriminatory.

Excellent lunch in an excellent location. Good value and original menu

Our family had a very pleasant dinner on a Saturday evening. The waiter and waitress were very friendly and accommodating. We were initially inside but when a table outside became available, they allowed us to move. The food was very well prepared and especially the salad with semsame chicken was delicious, juicy and soft. The highlight of our experience was with lost and found: we forgot our (quite expensive digital mirrorless) camera with lots of vacation pictures on a chair outside and only realized a day later; the waiter had found it and when we contacted the restaurant, they immediately sent it to us via DHL. They did not even ask for reimbursement of the shipping cost!

We were there spontaneously on a Saturday and were given a very nice table by the window. All the staff are extremely nice, the food is a real pleasure experience, sophisticated combinations, beautifully prepared. The selection of wines and drinks is also very appealing. The prices are appropriate for what is offered. We were thrilled and will be visiting again soon. Update: Even after repeated visits, the staff and food are always top notch. Simply class.

I've never eaten as bad as tonight!!! The salad was an absolute disaster!!! Too much oil No vinegar Salt or pepper!!! There was no bread either!!! I was offered something new... but I didn't want anything more because I was very, very disappointed!!! The service staff was great!!! But I certainly won't be back because of the bad food!!!

The “Lichtblick” is located in a beautiful old town alley in Freiburg. Nomen is omen? Rather: We experienced the Lichtblick as a highlight: great food, great ambience, super friendly and expert service! Our return is guaranteed.

We were looking for the Freiburg/Breisg area. Something suitable for lunch! After all, it's hard to get something with 9 people without a reservation! The friendly waiter put a few tables together for us and we were served the best 300g steak anywhere! Excellent cuisine, very nice, friendly staff and a rustic atmosphere! There a few words to describe our experience here, let’s star from the beginning. It is not cheap but affordable, aperitivos are good, we had as starter bread with goat cheese, 100% recommended, ask the waiter for suggestions on how to pair your wine with the, food, we always do this and we haven’t regretted our selection. They also offer a special menu which could be a good option if you want to try different things. Looking for finest cuisine in Freiburg, this is a good one.

From the outside the restaurant is quite inconspicuous. Everything outside was occupied/reserved. Upon request (we wanted to sit outside) an additional table was quickly brought outside for us. Service personal, careful and friendly. Food / 3 course menu very tasty. Simple menu, but something for everyone. We would be happy to recommend this “ray of hope” in Freiburg.

Wir haben zu Abend gegessen. Ich hatte Kalbstafelspitz „Medium“ gebraten dazu Rote Bete-Meerrettich-Risotto. Meine Frau bestellte Maishähnchenbrust mit Kräutern gebraten dazu Spargel-Risotto. Gute Portionen und sehr schmackhaft. Sehr empfehlenswert. Stoffservietten runden den Besuch ab.

Today we were guests in Freiburg and around lunchtime we asked about a restaurant on Google maps that had many good reviews. We came across the Lichtblick restaurant. The sign at the entrance showed three different price ranges, meat, vegetarian and fish. All included soup or salad and an espresso or cappuccino. You couldn't tell that the menus only offered one dish... it's a shame! When we were given a seat in the very back corner of the restaurant that was actually completely reserved, it didn't matter! Small Daughter is hungry. Unfortunately, there was no option to order something à la card, according to the waitress. What bothered us the most was that the waitress didn't feel welcome but rather like a troublemaker. We didn't get the espresso or cappuccino that came with it. Maybe the manager of the restaurant can take the review as constructive criticism and have a conversation with his employee. Good luck for the future 👍

To the kitchen: Food was very good. Beef fillet tender as butter, asparagus risotto with plenty of asparagus. Hand-beaten Zabaione to kneel down 😍 Everything is finely seasoned and of very good quality at a reasonable price. About the service: Friendly welcome, very nice. But unfortunately some of the attention could still be worked on. Background noise is very high with many guests. Nevertheless, we were satisfied and would come again.

Wir haben draußen gesessen und vorzüglich gespeist. Risotto, Kalbstafelspitz, Creme Brûlée, Gutedel …. Alles super !!!! Unbedingt ausprobieren und verwöhnen lassen. :-)

We were at Lichtblick for my birthday dinner for two. Cute, great restaurant with few seats. So reservation is a must. Great, attentive and cheerful service, you remember what you order without paper or pen, which I find extremely impressive. The food is fresh, seasonal and prepared with heart. The individual components are definitely homemade and with a great sophistication. The 3 course menu costs around €50, which is super fair and really appropriate for the end products. There is also a 4-course menu and a “normal” menu. We were completely satisfied and would really, really like to come back. Thanks!

The food was very good as usual. Unfortunately, we (group) had the feeling that evening that the staff were slightly annoyed or at least not motivated... and to be dispatched in order to be out again as quickly as possible.

Ein Freund hat das Lokal ausgesucht, es war mein erster Besuch! Als Vorspeise hatte ich Ziegenfrischkäse auf Ciabatta, Hauptgericht Zanderfilet kross gebraten mit Blattspinat, sehr lecker. Als Nachtisch 2 Kugel Sorbet im Porzellanschiffchen, es sah nicht nur gut aus, es schmeckte auch so. Die Preise sind der Qualität angemessen. Schade fand ich nur, dass einige Tische nicht besetzt waren.

The best culinary restaurant in all of Freiburg

Five of us went for a business lunch. Everyone was excited. I had the marinated salmon - a dream! The main course was the pike perch fillet. Wonderful!

Small but nice resto, the seating is quite tight, so there is a bit of a loss of “intimacy”…. But… we were able to experience a sensational evening. Fantastic food, very good wines and really sensational service from Gabriele!!!! Gabriele looked after us perfectly, was extremely friendly, always had a humorous comment and very good recommendations. On top of that we got a tailor made dessert from him which was simply heavenly. Thank you Gabriele for the experience, we will definitely be back.

The service was evident that evening, as well as the kitchen overwhelmed. We were there with 4 people. 2 fish dishes were served almost raw, although according to the menu they were fried until crispy. A corn-fed chicken was also not cooked through inside. Service was extremely slow. However, wine was OK. Unfortunately the evening was ruined!

This afternoon in random streets. 3 different dishes every day. We chose the beef which was cooked to perfection with sweet potato puree and fried parsley… little sauce… with salad and complimentary coffee with the dish. 18€50…perfect. A bit noisy room

Not the cheapest place, but SO worth it. One of the few places in Fr where you can still eat well, if you don’t want to go really deep in your pockets as in Chez Eric or Wolfshöhle. Very friendly and professional staff, excellent food, well combined menus and great wines. A lovely experience all over, which has become the exception in this town’s gastroscape.

Wir hatten das 3-Gänge Menü vom Chef empfohlen mit auch dessen Weinempfehlung. Es war hervorragend. Ein sehr genussvoller Abend. Danke dem ganzen Team.

Der Abend war perfekt. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das 4-Gänge Menü hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Leider wohnen wir nicht in Freiburg, sonst würden wir sehr gerne wiederkommen. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen.

An einem normalen Samstagmittag kommt man da ohne Reservation gar nicht rein. Schade!

Es war ein wunderschöner Abend. Wir hatten uns für das 4 Gänge Menü entschieden und es war einfach überragend. Es war alles unfassbar lecker, alles war auf den Punkt. Die Portionsgrößen waren genau richtig. Der Service war top, alle waren sehr aufmerksamen und freundlich! Ein Runderabend. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Das Rindercarpaccio war noch leicht gefroren, z.T. sehnig und wenig gewuerzt; Salz und Pfeffer wurde ungefragt(!) an einen anderen Tisch gegeben... Gibt es hier nicht mehr davon??? Der Service ist sehr nett/vertraulich, aber planlos. Konnte u.a. nichts wesentliches zu den Weinen sagen... Die Seezunge fuer fast 40,-- € war mini und ohne Geschmack. (Fleisch-und Fischgerichte sind in der gedruckten Stammkarte zu finden. - Gerichte wechseln hier wohl nicht oft. ...Eher TK statt frisches ?) Ich esse nie viel, aber davon war ich nicht satt - Auf Dessert und Kaffee haben wir dann trotzdem verzichtet.

Das Essen war top, das Weinangebot sehr gut, der Service nicht so freundlich, nachdem wir nur je ein Hauptgericht und kein Menü gewählt hatten. Insgesamt war die Situation (Tagesform?) etwas angespannt. Das geht sicher besser.
