What Hilko, Giulia and their team at La Mer are doing is extraordinary! We received such a warm welcome and felt like we were in good hands. The food enchanted us. Every course is a poem - including the wine and the other drinks. Simply an exciting game of flavors and consistencies. The way the food was prepared was also simply great. The service employee who looked after us was very warm, pleasant and unobtrusive. We felt perfectly cared for at all times. We are already looking forward to the next visit. See you soon!

La Mer is a restaurant that deserves stars. The greetings from the kitchen are a taste explosion. The main courses and desserts are delicious and very stylishly and appetizingly presented. The chefs know their craft and do a great job with first-class products. The service is very professional, warm and attentive. Last weekend I ate at La Mer for the first time. The service was excellent, you felt immediately welcome and everyone was extremely attentive. The motto seemed to be to read your wishes and make everything possible for your guests. Of course everyone has to and should see for themselves, I can only say that the meat was of the highest steakhouse quality and there were small individual starters or snacks where you could tell that the kitchen was letting its creativity run wild. Many thanks to the team for this hospitality!

We recently visited the La Mer restaurant, which is known for its fine dining offerings on the island. The evening started promisingly: we were informed by phone in advance that we would have to sit inside due to the weather - a very courteous gesture from the house, which seemed very organized and was exactly right. The space inside was also very nice and added to the atmosphere. The wine selection was very good: the person responsible for selecting the wines on offer did an excellent job and the wine we had was very good. Unfortunately, the wine was served far too warm. There were also some disappointments with the food. We originally considered a fish, but it couldn't be filleted - either in the kitchen or at the table. Even if this is a special request, in a restaurant like this I expect this request to be fulfilled. Instead, a steak (completely cooked) was chosen, which was unfortunately disappointing: it came across as very dry, even for a well-done steak, which was mainly due to the side dishes, which did not help at all to make the dish appear juicier. The 7-course menu, on the other hand, tasted very good and impressed us. One point that we noticed was that we had to refill our drinks ourselves throughout the evening, which is more than disappointing for a restaurant of this class. Although the service was objective and correct, there was a complete lack of warmth, which took away the personal touch from the experience. Overall, we had the impression that La Mer does not offer the level that is often communicated on the island or that is conveyed through articles on the Internet, especially in the area of ​​service. In addition, the restaurant has little event character and the experience does not offer the special setting that one might expect in this price range. An alternative on the island in the same price range is “Seesteg”, a restaurant with a Michelin star. Anyone who values ​​excellent service and is looking for a consistent experience should therefore consider the Seesteg.

During our vacation we visited what was probably the best restaurant on the island according to reviews and were not disappointed. The menu was absolutely excellent and definitely at star level. Here in the Ruhr area, three well-known TV chefs run their star-rated shops, none of which can compete here. Every course was excellent, the wine was appropriate, the young waiter was extremely attentive and competent, he deserves special praise. We couldn't help but make reservations again immediately for the next day, which unfortunately was our last day of vacation. This time it was à la carte, and once again one culinary hit followed the next. Finally, there are the very finest distillates here, a detail that is often neglected even in top gastronomy. The price-performance ratio is also excellent, we were really surprised. We wish the entire team continued good luck and success! Stay tuned and the awards will come by themselves...

Yesterday evening it was that time again - even on a short trip, La Mer has become a fixture for us and we really enjoy visiting. Hilko, Giulia and the entire team managed to turn the evening into a professional, warm, enjoyable trip. Thank you again for this. For the aperitif there were 2 sparkling North Sea spritzes, followed by greetings from the kitchen, which brought some very well-coordinated taste experiences. We continued with the heated beef and imperial caviar - excellent - that would also be a great idea as a main course. This was followed by the intermediate course with three kinds of seasoned vegetable ravioli and the saffron risotto. The taste is again incredibly fine with many nuances. To refresh ourselves before the main course, we were given a small glass of whiskey sour (from the dessert menu). With our taste buds now refreshed, we moved on to the main course - charcoal-grilled veal entrecote. Fried to perfection as requested and served with a nice, light Bearnaise sauce. Just great. We actually wanted to choose a dessert (unfortunately it wasn't possible - our stomachs didn't want to expand any further) but we ended up with Hierbas Dunas (herbal schnapps made from the herbs of the dunes) on ice. All in all - a great taste journey and a wonderful evening. We will be back.

The la mer is a more upscale restaurant. Eat Unfortunately, not everything is perfect when it comes to food, so a risotto was not convincing, but after a complaint to the service, it was taken straight off the bill. It's a shame, because the other dishes we tested were very good! Prices As always on Norderney, you can't compare it with other restaurants. The prices at la mer are quite high, but here you also get very good, sophisticated service, which you cannot find in many other restaurants on the island. Furnishing For me, the tables are too close together and there is no longer any privacy. In this price range I would like more privacy. The somewhat overly spacious atmosphere could also be improved with simple intermediate installations. service The service is first class and is very attentive and trained! parking etc. Like everything on the island, walking here is probably unavoidable! ;-) CONCLUSION Good restaurant with good cuisine, very good service, the ambience could be made even clearer and more comfortable! Wir hatten das 5 Gänge Menü mit Weinbegleitung. Ein sehr gutes Essen mit vielen verschiedenen leckeren Weinen, welches sehr viel Freude gemacht hat! Die Speisenfolge war zeitlich sehr nah beieinander und hat im Ganzen weniger überrascht. Dennoch war es ein wunderschöner Abend.

Wir waren zu Zweit zum Abendessen und haben uns für ein Menü entschieden. Ganz unkompliziert konnten wir einzelne Gänge tauschen und auch noch hinzufügen. Wenn man einen Beweis sucht dass es abseits der bekannten Namen immer noch junge excelente Könner gibt dann wird man im La Mer fündig. Wunderschöne Atmosphäre, gute Beratung und excelente Küche sind hier zu finden. Wir waren beim Sylvestermenü 2023 und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Gänge wären von einer Geschmacksvielfalt welche man beim reinen Lesen der Menükarte nicht vermuten würde. Danke noch einmal an ALLE Mitwirkenden für den schönen Abend.

Norderney wird schon bald ein Sternelokal mehr haben! Die Küche hier im La Mer ist ausgezeichnet. Wir waren mit Freunden da und hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Die Gerichte, einschließlich der Grüße aus dem Haus, waren ein Feuerwerk für den Gaumen , dazu eine sehr gute Weinkarte! Nach dem Dessert kam unser Espresso Experte auch wieder zu 5 von 5 möglichen Punkten :) dazu ein Digestif aus dem Hause Hilgert (ein Genuss) Der Service war herzlich und sehr aufmerksam,die Gerichte kompetent erklärt! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder, wenn wir mal wieder auf der Insel sind !

Aussergewöhnlich aufmerksamer und kompetenter Service. Gute Beratung bei der Aufnahme der Bestellung. Wir haben das Menü mit den á la Carte Gerichten gemischt. Bei der Bestellung, mit der dazu passende Weinbegleitung, wurden wir charmant und außerordentlich kompetent beraten. Die Weinkarte lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die Seezunge sowie das Schnitzel von der Rehkeule wurden in der offenen Küche vom ebenso freundlichen wie kompetenten Küchenpersonal zubereitet. Wer etwas Besonderes sucht oder einen besonderen Anlass plant, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Es könnte helfen, wenn man sich zuvor mit der kurzen aber hervorragenden Speisekarte, die im Internet hinterlegt ist, vertraut macht. Schon beim Lesen der Speisekarte darf man sich auf einen unvergesslichen Abend freuen und vermeidet gleichzeitig eine Enttäuschung, wenn die gewünschten Speisen nicht auf der Karte zu finden sind. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Der Service war herausragend mit viel Sachverstand, Warmherzigkeit und Aufmerksamkeit. Die Speisen waren extrem lecker, kreativ komponiert und von höchster Qualität. In unseren Augen ganz großes Kino und im Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis mehr als fair. Also jeden Cent wert. Wir werden wiederkommen und empfehlen das La Mer uneingeschränkt weiter! 10 von 10 Sternen!

Wir waren am Dienstag dort und haben das 5 Gang Menü gegessen und es war fantastisch. Der Service war freundlich und sehr aufmerksam und die Gerichte zeigten, das man in der Küche weiss was man tut und wie man eine Menü richtig gut macht. Und zum Abschied gab es noch ein Glas Marmelade, war einfach gut.Wir hatten einen gelungenen Abend.

Hallo liebe Geniesser und Gaumenfreuden-Enthusiasten ! An sich ist es jetzt schon auf Norderney zu einer Freude geworden , sich den allabendlichen kulinarischen Erlebnissen ausgiebig zuzuwenden . Mögen wir dabei in Gedanken an den Orten verweilen , die Kochen noch als Herausforderung betrachten und selbst eine Beilage noch zu einem sinnlichen Erlebniss werden lassen . Die Beurteilung des Gastes über ein Restaurant ist in vieler Hinsicht eine Leichte. Man riskiert sehr wenig und erfreut sich dennoch einer Überlegenheit gegenüber jene , die ihr Werk und sich selbst unserem vermeintlichen Urteil überlassen. Gäste reagieren oft ungnädig und skeptisch über neue Talente und deren Kreationen. Fakt ist - Das NEUE braucht Freunde ! Vor Kurzem durfte ich etwas Neues erleben . Meine gute Freundin Marianne empfahl mir das Restaurant " LA MER " ( am Thalassohotel in der Bülowstraße ), für mich ein neuer Ort der hohen Kochkunst !! Angefangen von einem sehr netten Empfang der Mitarbeiter und des Chefs des Hauses , einer sehr kompetenten Beratung am Tisch und damit verbunden einem wirklich sehr gutem Service, bis hin zu einem kulinarischem Highlight auf unserem Tisch ! Sowohl das Team , als auch die Schöpfer des Mahl`s verdienen ein großes Dankeschön von uns ! Nicht jeder ist zu einem großen Koch geboren aber große Köche werden überall geboren ! Ich werde mich nicht der Suche nach Kleinigkeiten hingeben und mit Akribie " Nicht Perfektes " finden wollen , nur um meiner Überlegenheit als Gast über die Wertigkeit diesen tollen Restaurants entscheiden zu können.. Ich bezeichne es als das für mich was es ist : Klasse ! Und , wir werden definitiv wieder kommen !

Hier wird Gastfreundschaft gepaart mit exellenter Küche ganz groß geschrieben… Bereits bei der telefonischen Buchung wird danach gefragt, ob man seinen 4 Beiner mitbringt, damit ein Platz mit viel Raum für den Hund reserviert wird. Das Essen ist absolut köstlich und den vom pfiffigen Kellner empfohlene Apfelschnaps könnte man Flaschenweise konsumieren. Dieses Restaurant hält mit jedem Edelrestaurant mit. Hier MUSS man hin

Unerwartet, unglaublich gut! Wir waren zu dritt und das schon zum dritten Mal. Hier stimmt nicht nur die auf den Punkt perfekte Küche, die dringend einen Stern verdient hat. Auch der guttuend dezente, professionelle Service sucht seines Gleichen im Umkreis von hunderten von Kilometern. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis steht in jedem Fall für die Qualität, die hier dargeboten wird. Es erwartet Sie nicht weniger als eine Sensation. Viel Spaß bei der Vorfreude. Es lohnt sich. Ohne Zweifel das beste Restaurant der Insel!

Absolut fulminant leckere Speisen, Geschmacksexplosion beim "Gruß aus der Küche", sehr netter Service. Empfehlenswerte gehobene und qualitativ sehr gute Küche!!

Im Rahmen des Summertimes Festivals waren wir mal wieder beruflich auf der schönen Insel Norderney und sind Abends auf Grund von Empfehlung in diesem schönen Restaurant eingekehrt. Direkt dazu, es handelt sich hier um ein Restaurant mit Sterne-Niveau. Wer billig sucht, sucht direkt woanders. Der Empfang war freundlich und das Servicepersonal suchte direkt einen Tisch aus und das auch ohne Reservierung. Die Speisekarte ist klein und übersichtlich aber dafür von höchster Qualität. Typisch Küste ist die Karte Fisch lastig. Trotzdem findet sich auch etwas ohne Fisch auf der Karte. 3 Gänge wurden verputzt. Dazu eine tolle Flasche Weißwein. Es wird hier viel mit 'molekularen' Elementen der Küche gespielt Geele, Schäume und Emulsionen fanden sich in jedem Gang wieder. Ein sehr gelungener Abend in diesem tollen Restaurant. Nicht günstig aber guter Service und gute Küche samt equisiter Weinkarte mit vorwiegend Deutschen Weinen sind jeden Penny wert. Gerne wieder! Wir haben gerade gegessen! Das Essen war rundum sehr gut! Die offene saubere Küche sehr gut! Das Ambiente mit weit auseinander gestellten Tischen hervorragend!! Der Service nett, aber „geduzt werden“ möchten wir nicht („hat es EUCH geschmeckt?“). Deshalb 1 Stern Abzug. Wir kommen wieder.

Spitzenrestaurant mit schöner Terasse, wo die Tische nicht so dicht beieinanderstehen, dass man dem Nachbarn schon fast auf den Schoß sitzt. Sehr angenehme und zuvorkommende Bedienung, man fühlt sich wirklich ernstgenommen als Gast und gut betreut. Essen sensationell, nicht billig, aber jeden Euro wert, zumindest in unseren Augen. Hihe Flexibilität in Bezug auf Änderungen oder Einzelbestellungen von Menuegerichten ohne gleich das ganze Menue zu nehmen. Hat und super gefallen und war bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal hier!

Ein wirklich sehr schönes Restaurant, geführt von einem sympatischen jungen Paar. Das Personal fachkundisch, motiviert , sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Tolles Essen, künstlerisch und aromatisch auf die Teller gezaubert. Wir sehen uns auf jeden Fall beim nächsten nächsten Besuch auf der Insel wieder.
