We haven't been guests in this restaurant for a long time because we didn't like the intrusive nature of the staff. My daughter urgently needed to go to the toilet that day and asked very politely if it was possible. No, of course it wasn't on the offer you pay. They said we had our own guests here and she should go to the museum opposite (which was of course closed)... Hopefully the good woman doesn't have to go to the Toi urgently and be turned away so harshly! I immediately remembered why we don't eat there and I don't understand how good reviews come about here.

Almost empty restaurant, no guests are welcome who just want to have a drink with coffee. There isn't even cake on Sundays... Unfriendly service, you really noticed his “not in the mood” attitude. Ultimately we were sent out the door because we didn’t want anything “big” food… Worst experience in a long time...

Yesterday I wanted to go out on the terrace with my dog. You have to walk through the restaurant and wait until you are assigned a seat. There was a sign at the entrance stating that wet and dirty dogs were not allowed in the restaurant. The dog's legs were in the canal, still slightly damp in yesterday's sunshine, when we entered the restaurant. The lady pointed out to me that wet dogs were not allowed. I explained to her that I wanted to go to the terrace. That wouldn't work because "other guests could get the dog's crumbs if it shakes itself." Unfortunately, crumbling dogs are not welcome 🙃 So I can't judge the food. Interior furnishings are getting old, tables and chairs in the outdoor area are "chumbed together", service... well. It's good that there are enough other restaurants in Castrop-Rauxel.

The staff is very friendly. But no effort was made with the food. It looked like that us in the canteen, slapped schnitzel on the plate, slapped the sauce on the schnitzel and that was it. Appealing is different...

If you don't want to eat, you're not welcome, even though they advertise a beer garden online. You could have sat in front of the restaurant in the blazing sun... (27 degrees today). We had previously cycled 20 KM and were thirsty. It was made clear to us unmistakably and at the same time in an unfriendly manner that just drinking was not welcome. We then moved on without anything to drink. Really a shame.

We wanted to drink a beer and eat ice cream in the beer garden with a group of 10 people. Before we were all seated, however, we were asked not to block the tables as they were reserved for “eating” guests. I have rarely experienced such unfriendly behavior. We would certainly have made a decent turnover. If at all 1/3 of the places were occupied... A few meters further is the Langer Gastrobus. You can relax here.

We were there with 9 people and were not allowed to put 2 tables together because then there would be a lack of seats. You don't have to understand the statement. Since we couldn't immediately agree whether we wanted to eat something or just drink something, we were asked to leave the table otherwise we would take the place of the customers who wanted to eat something. At this point the restaurant was perhaps 1/3 full. It's better to go a few meters further to eat and drink. It's a shame that you have to give this one star, because it's already too much.

We made a reservation for yesterday evening and were greeted very warmly. The service is great and we felt comfortable. You can comfortably enjoy dinner on the terrace. The food was freshly prepared and we all enjoyed it very much. The prices are absolutely justified. Everything fits here. We will be happy to come back 👍👍👍

Were there on a hot day with 2 dogs and wanted to have a drink in the beer garden. This can only be reached through the restaurant (perhaps for fear of transient guests). We were denied access with the dogs because one dog was wet. We were then able to have a drink in front of the restaurant for immediate cash payment, but the dogs went away empty-handed and didn't get any water despite asking. We then ignored the food and therefore cannot rate it

I can't understand the negative reviews. Service super friendly, food super tasty and generous portions. We will be back!

I have rarely felt so unwelcome in a restaurant! First you are left standing at the entrance for minutes and ignored by three employees (a maximum of 15% of the tables in the restaurant and towards the back were occupied), only to be sent away in the end because we just wanted a drink - and the few tables in front of the door were occupied. These are then reserved for people who don't want to eat.

Unfortunately the coffee became a wannabe restaurant! If you ask for coffee and cake, you will be turned away and looked at strangely! It's a shame, it was always nice there! Unfortunately I can no longer recommend it!!! 😝

Sometimes I really can't understand these 1 star reviews. Sour? Thinking too short? Maybe restaurateurs in particular should be allowed to leave a review for “guests”. Now, let's dive in: and yeah, the decor isn't really great. Beech, oak, lots of playful accessories and plastic plants. OK. Nothing really fits together. The chairs (I haven't sat on all of them) are ultra comfortable. That fits. The menu has something for everyone. I think it's great that you can find something here for little money. The portions are generous, which speaks for a good price/performance ratio. But does it taste good? Clear answer: yes. Let's get to the operation/service: A man with a broken arm ordered a schnitzel. The three of them sat at the table. Since the food was served at the same time, he got help from the waitress. She just cut his schnitzel into small pieces and made him feel comfortable. Where should I start...the service was totally unfriendly and listless. You may already be overwhelmed with just a few guests. We wanted to stop on our bike tour for a cold beer and maybe some food. But since we had only ordered one beer, we weren't allowed to sit down in the rarely visited beer garden. It felt like we were put in the parking lot on the grounds that there weren't enough staff.🤔 I still don't know what the lady wanted to tell me...I definitely didn't feel comfortable when I was directed to the beer garden in front of other guests and was then allowed to sit behind the fence. The atmosphere there is also absolutely not inviting. The interior is more reminiscent of a pub from the 80s and the beer garden is pretty carelessly decorated (e.g. just close the shed door with the junk, no one wants to see that while eating and it's so easy). The three play equipment in the "playground" are old and unkempt (they need to be cleaned or repainted every now and then). The nettles are growing under the slide. Both the service and the ambience convey a feeling of listlessness. In any case, no one really makes an effort there anymore and that's what you get as a guest. I don't think the prices are too expensive for a well-located restaurant, but please make an effort and offer me as a guest a nice time. I just think it's a shame, because it's a really nice, well-located location that you can do a lot with if you want. I don't have to go there again.

Visited the Kortmann restaurant today. We went for a sporty bike ride. We wanted to have a coffee in the Kortmann restaurant. When we entered the empty restaurant we were looked at and assessed as not being appropriately dressed. When we asked for a coffee, we were offered it outside, as the Kortmann restaurant is a restaurant. Because of the weather we politely declined the coffee. Unfortunately we felt unwelcome. We were welcomed at Cafe Schnick Schnack in Waltrop and given our coffee.

We received a very friendly welcome. We had made reservations for 10 people and everything was well prepared. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good, everything was fresh and tasty. We can only recommend it. We'd love to come back.👍😀

We've been eating there every now and then for years when we're on our bikes. Very good food, very friendly and, above all, the price/performance ratio is right. As I said, quality also has its price.

Today we were guests here with friends and our granddaughter Mila. The food was very tasty and the service was also very nice and responsive to our needs. We were given both an extra plate and extra children's cutlery. Furthermore, the service was very attentive and everyone wanted to read from their eyes. The only thing I have to complain about is the car traffic next to the outside terrace. But that's complaining at a high level. All in all, this great restaurant can only be recommended. We were disappointed in every way.

We were traveling and 3 women (one of them pregnant) just wanted to quickly go to the toilet. They were very rudely rejected and told that you could go to the toilet in the museum opposite (which was closed). After trying again with the offer that you were willing to pay 1 euro per person, you were again rejected very unfriendly and even threatened with the police. We had the right on our side (not to help) but not the time as the ladies were starting to feel urgent. So we won't be entering this shed again.

I can't comment on the food as we only had something to drink. We were there with 10 people and bicycles. There are few suitable storage options for bicycles. Self-service but prices like first class service (wheat beer 5.20 euros). The drinks are also served very unfriendly. The ambience wasn't great either. We wouldn't stop there again. It's better to stop at the kiosk. Same service but with a reasonable price. I heard the same thing from other visitors.

However, when we entered the store we were immediately treated as lepers simply because we were traveling on the Santa Monica recreational boat. We were spat at emotionally and the waitress with dark, short hair made it clear to us that we were not welcome in this shop. We left this establishment immediately and had to endure spiteful comments from her! I don't know how you can treat people like that!

Nevertheless, we actually wanted to have a coffee in the empty Butze. By the way, a steak costs 42 euros in the slightly better chip shop without a special ambience. That's usury... Today we wanted to drink coffee and eat cake. Unfortunately, cake is no longer offered on Sundays. Very unfortunate.

Completely satisfied. I stopped here with my father on the motorcycle to have a coffee. Very friendly handling, beautiful surroundings and above all nothing to complain about. I didn't try the food, but if you want to stop by for a coffee or cake, you certainly won't be disappointed here.

Wir waren schon mehrfach dort essen. Tolle Schmorgerichte. Super Schnitzel. Sehr leckere Nudeln mit Pilzsauce und Filetstückchen. Auch die wechselnde Saisonkarte ist Klasse. Außerdem sehr, sehr nette Betreiber, freundliches und aufmerksames Personal und faire Preise. Kommen immer wieder gerne hierhin. Und der selbstgemachte Kuchen ein Gedicht. Fühlen uns sehr wohl 😊

Sehr lecker! Die Buttercreme ist ne Wucht. Schmeckt wie bei Oma. Außerdem sehr zu empfehlen sind die Schnitzel echt und lecker. Einfach top.

Leider finde ich die Freundlichkeit gegenüber den Gästen sehr unfreundlich. Widerwillig würde uns ein Mitteltisch abgeräumt und wir wurden auch nicht gefragt, wo wir gern sitzen wollten. Das Restaurant war sehr leer( kein Wunder). Nach uns kamen viele Gäste die Kaffee und Kuchen wollten. Allen würde erklärt, sie wären von den Gästen beschimpft und angegriffen worden,die Leute würden immer schlimmer und deshalb gibt es keinen Kuchen mehr. Aber wenn das passiert, sollte man sich mal fragen, warum? Wenn man sein Personal vernünftig bezahlt, bekommt man auch genug Kräfte. Hat man genug Personal, sind die Gäste zufrieden und keiner muss angewiesen werden. Zufriedene Gäste bringen gutes Geld, wovon man sein Personal wiederum gut bezahlen kann. Eine win win Situation für alle... Das was heute in dem Laden abging geht garnicht. Man macht nicht die Gäste vor anderen Gästen schlecht, nur weil man selbst nichts ändern will. Der Laden könnte auch mal der heutigen Zeit angepasst werden. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall nicht mehr... Die positiven Bewertungen hier sind wohl nur von guten Bekannten gemacht worden, damit der Laden nicht ganz so schlecht da steht...

Wollte nur ein Kaffee, durfte aber NICHT auf der Terrasse, kein Wunder das dort nichts mehr los ist.

Ein echter Geheimtipp! Nachmittags gibt es leckeren Kuchen in großen Stücken. Bei den warmen Gerichten und Salaten merkt man noch das Handwerk! Hier werden keine convenience Produkte eingesetzt, sondern selbstgemachte Soßen und handpanierte Schnitzel. Futtern wie bei Muttern und das zu mehr als fairen Preisen! Der sehr nette (und schlagfertige) Service macht das Paket perfekt!

Das ganze vor Ort ist nicht sehr einladend....(Geschmackssache) Aber als die Bedienung meinem kleinen kleinen Sohn die Toilette verweigert hat ist mir der Kragen geplatzt. Es kann einfach nicht sein, dass solche Leute so einen Job ausüben. Am liebsten hätte ich die Polizei gerufen. Unmöglicher Umgang mit der nie wieder kehrenden Kundschaft.

So etwas habe ich noch nie erlebt: Wir (4 Erwachsene) waren mit zwei Kleinkinder dort, um Eis zu essen und um etwas zu trinken. Nach kurzer Zeit kam die Chefin zu uns und bat uns "nicht aufzutischen" (wir hatten für das 2,5 und das 1,5 jährige Kind eine Dose mit Äpfeln, ein halbes Laugenbrötchen und ein Fläschchen mit Wasser auf dem Tisch). Wir wären schließlich in einem Restaurant und sollten Speisen und Getränke dort kaufen. Eine absolute Frechheit bei zwei Kleinkindern. Ein wenig verstehen könnte man dies, wenn der Biergarten voll besetzt wäre und wir eventuellen anderen umsatzstärkeren Gästen den Platz "wegnehmen würden. Aber dies war nicht der Fall. NIE WIEDER!

Unmöglicher und unhöflicher Service. Einmal und nie wieder!

Sehr freundliches Personal. Essen sehr sehr gut. Preis / Leistung für heutige Verhältnisse, Daumen rauf. Ambiente sehr gut. Rundum zufrieden Ich habe gerade gelesen was andere so schreiben. Einfach fürchterlich. Es spiegelt die heutige Mentalität einiger Leute wider, oder sogar der Mehrheit. Ich bekomme nicht das was ICH WILL und schon wird kein gutes Wort mehr geschrieben. Jetzt muss ich dem Restaurant einen rein drücken, herzlichen Glückwunsch.

Habe dort mit meinem Mann zu Mittag gegessen in einem kleinen sehr einladenden Biergarten, wir wurden freundlich bedient und das Essen war vorzüglich. Ein großes Lob an die Küche.

Ich habe dort nur einen Latte Machiato getrunken, aber der war sehr gut und die Bedienung sehr nett.

Unfreundlicher Service, absolut unmöglich

Ich bin ins Restaurant gekommen und wollte auf die Terrasse. Habe nett gegrüßt und wurde sehr unfreundlich gefragt, ob ich auch essen möchte. Habe das bejaht und ich durfte durchgehen. Ich habe mich nicht wohl gefühlt, da die Bedienung sehr unfreundlich und überheblich war. Essen war o.k.

Nur etwas trinken, auch auf der Terrasse, geht nicht. Sehr unfreundlich.

Vorab ich gehöre nicht zu den aktiven Rezensionsschreiberinnen, aber was uns heute Mittag bei Kortmann wiederfahren ist, GEHT GAR NICHT. Das alteingesessene Restaurant Kortmann, mit seiner guten Lage, für Auto-Motorrad oder Fahrradfahrer sollte eigentlich seine Gäste freundlicher empfangen. Wir waren mit den Rädern unterwegs und wollten eine kleine Pause machen, um etwas zu trinken, wir waren noch nicht ganz im Lokal, stellte sich direkt ein Mitarbeiterin in den Weg, fragte was wir möchten, mein Mann sagte ihr, das wir gerne auf der Terrasse, ein Getränk verzehren wollten, dieses wurde uns verwehrt, NUR für ein Getränk, KEINE Terrasse. HALLO, wie arrogant ist das denn. Wir sind wortlos gegangen, weil uns diese Überheblichkeit echt die Sprache verschlagen hat.

Leider können wir weder Essen, noch Kuchen bewerten . Bisher waren wir immer zufrieden mit dem Service, Ambiente und der Kuchen war super. Heute hat man uns erst gar nicht auf die Terrasse gelassen, obwohl wir extra wegen Kaffee und Kuchen dorthin gefahren sind. Mit den Worten, dies sei ein Speiserestaurant, wurden wir auf die Holzbänke vor der Tür verwiesen. Dort ist Selbstbedienung mit Sicherheit zu den gleichen Preisen wie im Restaurant. Dies ist an Arroganz nicht zu übertreffen, zumal es 15.30 Uhr, also keine Essenszeit war. Das war unser letzter Besuch dort, wir werden künftig dorthin gehen, wo man als Gast geschätzt wird.

Wir hatten wieder einmal einen sehr schönen Nachmittag im RESTAURANT Kortmann. Super Essen, zuvorkommende und ausgesprochen freundliche Bedienung. Die Umgebung lässt einen zur Ruhe kommen. Das einzige was ihn und wieder stört sind Gäste, die sich nicht benehmen können. Das Leben könnte so schön sein😊

Superfreundlicher Service. Die Empfehlung des Hauses , Wolfsbarsch mit Gemüse und Bratkartoffeln war geschmacklich top!!! Im Restaurant war es trotz des grauen Regentages hell und freundlich.

Auch wir haben hier sehr schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht. Zur späteren Mittagszeit kamen wir hier an und hätten gerne einen Kaffee und ein Stück Kuchen verzehrt. Wir wurden dann aber schon auf dem Weg auf die Terrasse abgefangen und äußerst unfreundlich abgewiesen obwohl noch ausreichend Plätze vorhanden waren. Wir haben dann unser Geld woanders ausgeben und kommen auch garantiert nicht mehr wieder. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert der Laden!

Wir waren zu dritt und wollten „nur“ etwas trinken. Mit dem Hinweis, dass man ein Restaurant sei, wurde uns der Zutritt auf die Außenterasse verwehrt, obwohl noch genügend freie Tische vorhanden waren. Ich würde sagen, wer es sich in der heutigen Zeit erlauben kann die Kunden derartig zu vergraulen, der darf sich nicht wundern, wenn die Umsätze in den Keller gehen.

Mit etwas "Entgegenkommen" wäre schon viel erreicht Bleibt man dort so abweisend und unfreundlich war das die letzte Saison Man weist keine Gäste ab nur weil es 14.00 Uhr ist. Die setzt man auch nicht nach draußen in den SB - Bereich. Machen Sie dieses Seil in der Gaststube ab. Um Himmels Willen wo haben Sie das denn schon einmal gesehen? Und es gibt jetzt an Sonn und Feiertagen keinen Kuchen mehr. Toll. GANZ TOLL Grauenhaft.

Leider wird hier Sonntags kein Kuchen mehr angeboten. Eine liebgewonnene Tradition findet somit ein Ende. Wirklich schade!!!!

Sehr unfreundliches und arrogantes Personal. Wer als Fahrradfahrer dort hinkommt ist von vornherein Kunde Dritter Klasse. Das Essen oder Trinken muss im Voraus bezahlt werden. Die Qualität des Essens war minderwertig. Die Benutzung der Toiletten ist unerwünscht, aber auf Nachfrage mit einer abwertenden Geste möglich. Kuchen gab es nicht, obwohl das Restaurant ja auch ein Café sein soll. Nie wieder Restaurant Kortmann. Wir haben uns sehr darüber geärgert, dass wir nach dem unfreundlichen Empfang überhaupt noch etwas verzehrt haben.

Wir wollten am Sonntag eigentlich nur Kuchen essen und Kaffee trinken. Allerdings hatten wir nicht vor unserem Besuch die Homepage gesehen. Hier steht, dass es Sonntags keinen Kuchen gibt. Sorry, das wir so dumm waren und einfach im Restaurant gefragt haben. Die große Unfreundlichkeit der beiden Damen hinterm Tresen ist also völlig gerechtfertigt. Damit Sie sich zukünftig nicht mehr über uns ärgern müssen, kommen wir einfach nicht mehr wieder.

Das Essen wahr hervorragend, frisch zubereitet und sehr lecker. Des Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Mit verschiedenen schönen Blumen geschmökter Birgarten und was unz sehr gefallen hat der aus Hecke gestaltete Lokal nahme, mit Liebe zum Deteil und mit Liebe gekocht.

Schöner Ort, rundherum sehr schön gemacht Haben hier rast gemacht bei einer Motorradtour. Haben 2 Fruchtschorlen getrunken. Getränke waren super top, super Mischung, noch nirgends besser gehabt. Das Personal jedoch sehr flippisch zu anderen Gästen die dort gegessen haben und nur nach der Toilette gefragt haben. Auf unsere Frage hin, was es denn hier zu trinken gäbe, da nichts ausgeschrieben war am Empfang, wurde auch nur schnippisch geantwortet " was es in einem Restaurant eben so gibt...". Essen hatten wir nicht, dazu können wir nichts sagen. Wenn noch am Service und der Freundlichkeit gearbeitet wird, kann man dort bei gutem Wetter mal hin. Im Keller ist ein kleiner basar aufgebaut wie zu Omas Zeiten, gibt es auf dem weg zur Toilette einen Flohmarkt mit alten Sachen...

Wir kamen mit den Motorrad an und wollten uns einen Kaffee trinken und auf dem Weg ins an einen freien Tisch zu setzen.Wir würden sehr unfreundlich begrüßt und verweigert in den Garten zu gehen. Der Ton der Bedienung oder Chefin war ,kann man nicht beschreiben . Das Caffee werden wir nie wieder betreten und es ist nicht zu empfehlen.

Kaffe und Kuchen kann ich leider nicht bewerten. Dazu kam es erst gar nicht. Wir sind durch den Haupteingang rein, wurden mit erhobenem, verneinendem Zeigefinger des Außenbereichs verwiesen. Wir sollen uns anstellen, wie alle anderen auch. Maßregeln kommt bei mir nicht an.. Wir sind wieder gefahren und kommen auch nicht wieder.

Hier kann man sehr gut essen, sehr leckere Gerichte und super leckeren Kuchen 😋🍰 Top. Außerdem wird man hier sehr nett und freundlich bedient 👍

Wir waren am Pfingstmontag gegen 14h dort. Nach dem ersten "Anpfiff" durch die Bedienung ( wir sind einfach eingetreten ohne auf die Platzierung zu warten) dürften wir im Aussengelände Platz nehmen. Auf unsere Frage nach Kaffee und Kuchen wurde uns zur Antwort gegeben: " Das ist ja wohl nicht Ihr Ernst?". ( Uns war leider entgangen, dass Kaffee und Kuchen erst später angeboten werden. Hätte man vielleicht freundlich mitteilen können). Wir sind dann gegangen. Vielleicht sollte man einfach mal als Srtvice nett und freundlich sein!!??

Tja was soll Ich dazu sagen. Man brauch ja nur die alten Gardinen anschauen und das uralte Mobiliar trägt wahrscheinlich zur Unzufriedenheit der Mitarbeiter dazu. Wir werden dieses Restaurant auf alle Fälle nicht mehr betreten. So ein System habe ich noch nie gesehen und diese Unfreundliche Bedienung ist wohl auch einzigartig in dieser Branche. Ich kann die Positiven Bewertung garnicht verstehen. Haben in der Zeit wo wir den Kaffee getrunken haben bestimmt ein Dutzend Gäste gesehen die nur Kopfschüttelnd wieder gegangen sind. Einfach nur grauenhaft. Wer sich da wohl fühlt war wohl noch nie in einem anderen Restaurant. Den einen Stern nehme Ich natürlich wieder weg.

Man sollte dort schon eine Notdurft verrichten können, ohne zurecht gewiesen zu werden und ohne auf eine "Gäste-Wartereihe" verwiesen zu werden. Wirkt übelst nach Massenabfertigung. Schade, in den 90ern war dort mal ein schönes kleines Kiosk mit drin, an dem man auch ein Eis für die Kinder kaufen konnte. Wenn aber nun meine 8 Jährige Tochter und mein 7 Jähriger Sohn schon am Eingang angepflaumt werden, nur weil man nach einem Eis fragt, dann will man dort ganz sicher nicht mehr einkehren.

Wollten heute um 14.25 Uhr Kaffee und Kuchen essen. Waren zu dritt. Mussten durch den Haupteingang rein, durften nicht sofort auf die Terrasse. Drinnen eine Absperrung mit dem Schild, man werde plaziert. Wurden gefragt ob wir warm essen wollte. Wollten wir nicht. Der Kuchen war noch nicht in der Theke. Sollten dann draußen warten. Die Dame war sowas von unfreundlich. Kein Guten Tag, nichts. Das Café war so gut wie leer. Was mich bei dem Personal nicht wundert. Sind dann in ein anderes Café gefahren. Wo wir nett und freundlich bedient wurden. Nach Kortmann gehen wir nicht mehr

Leider muss man um Bewertungen zu schreiben einen Stern geben! Dieser Laden bzw die heutige Dame dort ist sowas von unfreundlich und frech!!! Kundenfreundlich ist wohl ein Fremdwort!! Kinder werden Sofort rausgeschmissen in einem unfassbar frechen und unfreundlichen Ton! Die Kinder wollten sich nur ein Eis holen! Unfassbar! Ich wünsche ihnen Durchfall und kein Klopapier!!!
