I was absolutely thrilled with my visit! From the moment you enter, you're greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you want to spend an enjoyable evening. The service was outstanding, attentive, friendly, and always with a smile, without being intrusive. You can tell that they truly care about hospitality. The food was simply divine! Each course was prepared with such attention to detail, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. Great food. 1AAAAA. There were seven of us there. The staff was super accommodating. The evening was just great.

Digital menu, ordering via the waiter, an iPad is available if needed. The food was very, very good across the board. The zander fillet was boneless. The schnitzel was excellent. The tapas platter was very well presented and very tasty. The fish and chips were also very good; perhaps a small side salad could have been added. The apple strudel with ice cream was apparently homemade and also very good. Each dish was served on a different plate and was always perfectly presented. The prices are high, but rather normal for Rügen.

We ate here two days in a row. It's a shame we're leaving tomorrow and won't be able to try the rest of the menu. And I usually write that rather sarcastically. On the first day, I had the bread with olives and aioli. That was good, but then: I had two grilled fish fillets, dorado and sea bass. It came with grilled vegetables and boiled potatoes. It sounds simple at first. The fish was boneless, cooked all the way through, and still juicy. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. Cooked with a slight bite, everything perfectly seasoned. My conclusion: I was thrilled. My wife had fish and chips. Many chefs mess up their meals there, too. The fish and chips were very good. The homemade, fresh renulade turned the dish into a feast. The Crema Catalana was freshly caramelized at the table and tasted excellent. I had the Crema Soeller. An orange mascarpone cream. Slightly fruity, not too sweet, just the perfect ending. We were served by the truly pleasant Nettie. A wonderfully friendly woman who enjoys her work. On the second evening, I had the bread again – simple and delicious. This time, my wife had the schnitzel with fried potatoes. She really enjoyed it. I had the spaghetti del mare, and my mouth is still watering. It was so fantastically prepared and seasoned. A solid A+ in both appearance and taste. And I don't say that lightly. Unfortunately, very few can still prepare something this high-quality. Many more can't even capture this flavor. Thank you for the culinary experience. Thank you to you and your crew. We're happy to pay the appropriate price for it. Oh, and the tiramisu was also delicious!

Highly recommended!!! We had a very nice and humorous waitress, "Netti," and the food was delicious. Additional note: We went there a second time and it was wonderful again. The crema Catalana is carmelized at the table.

Everything is just right here. From the lovingly rustic welcome from the waitresses (which I absolutely love) to our dishes, the evening was a true highlight. The veal liver was absolutely amazing, as were the Duroc pork loin and the Wiener Schnitzel. Before that, a mixed appetizer platter and the obligatory Pimientos de Padron left nothing to be desired. This is definitely a restaurant that can be recommended with a clear conscience. We'd be happy to return...

This is truly a little insider tip. The restaurant isn't located down by the harbor, but up on the main street. It's small but perfectly formed, with a cozy atmosphere and very attentive staff, where you can tell they live and love their job. The food is simply 🤤 mmmm 🤤 and everyone will find something to suit their taste, whether it's German cuisine or a delicious Spanish dish. It's freshly prepared with great ingredients, and you can taste it. The price/performance ratio is perfectly acceptable 👌🏻

We spontaneously came here as a couple with our dog. We quickly got a nice table. The food blew us away. We've rarely had such good cutlery. I definitely recommend it. The girls who serve here are super friendly and in a great mood.

Super friendly service, great ambiance, and excellent food. We started with aoili and olives and a tomato cream soup—we haven't had such good soup in a long time! Afterward, we had fire-roasted pork with a superb BBQ sauce and veal steak with chanterelle mushrooms. The steak was excellent! The two girls at the counter are incredibly friendly 🫶, cheerful, and always have a witty joke or two on their lips/backs 😉👌. We went there spontaneously, for the first time, felt completely at home, and it certainly won't be the last time 😉. Our dog was also warmly welcomed. Thank you for a wonderful end to the day 🫶

The food here was truly delicious! The service here is a real highlight. It should be noted that we were here during the SailGP. Accordingly, the prices were higher, and the street-side terrace was a bit noisier. Overall, we were satisfied.

We ended up here completely spontaneously. We received a very friendly welcome. The food was delicious. The staff was attentive and courteous. What I also liked, and unfortunately, it's never talked about, was the restroom. Aside from the fact that it was clean, I noticed something at the sink. There were two bottles of deodorant, pads, and tampons. As a woman, I felt very comfortable, even though I didn't need them. We should take this as an example. (Anywhere there is a restroom.) The fish soup is indescribable; it was a dream, and I've had the pleasure of trying many fish soups. The main courses, one fish and one neck, were all fresh and incredibly well prepared. The chef is in a class of his own. He even came to the guests' tables and asked if everything was okay. Yes, and it was. A very pleasant and delicious evening. We'll definitely be back.

I don't understand the good reviews. The staff's emphasis on the fact that everything is freshly cooked is completely normal. In any case, the food we received was okay, but nothing to rave about. Additionally, the kitchen must be a bit overworked during peak season, as we had to wait almost an hour for our food.

We visited the Royal Gustav twice last weekend. As walk-ins on Friday, we were very hungry and, after a very short wait, we got a table for two and were warmly welcomed by the two waitresses. The cozy atmosphere and the almost perfect food surprised us so much that we spontaneously requested a table for 10 on Saturday lunchtime (after our booked table at another restaurant was canceled). The head chef himself quickly reorganized his schedule and was able to confirm the table. It was a fantastic evening, which the ladies and the kitchen team put together for us. There was even a surprise dessert and birthday song from the entire team for our grandma's 80th birthday. Happy, full, and delighted, the restaurant left a lasting, positive impression on all of us. If we're in Sassnitz, a visit here is a must for us. Many thanks for the two wonderful evenings, especially to Magda for the great service. You are a fantastic team!!!

There was a miscommunication - I was feeling indecisive & asked if I should go with the fish pot. But the waitress suggested sea bass something & I said sure, thinking it was part of the fish pot. When the bill came, I realized I got a completely different order that was ~10€ more. However, the sea bass with veggies was delicious & I didn’t mind the miscommunication so much 🤤 While waiting, I got a complimentary asparagus soup in the cutest lil’ pot & complimentary tropical shot with the bill (I don’t drink alcohol but was still a nice gesture). Overall great, attentive service & lovely interior 🫶🏽

Royal enjoyment in Sassnitz! The König Gustav restaurant impresses with its cozy ambiance and a well-coordinated, attentive team. The service is friendly, warm, and simply puts you at ease. The culinary offerings here are a wonderful blend of German and Spanish cuisine – from fresh plaice to a genuine Wiener schnitzel to paella, everything is there, and all of it at a truly excellent level! Spanish beer and delicious cocktails round out the experience. If you want to eat well in Sassnitz, this is the place to be!

Konig Gustav is definitely my favorite restaurant in Sassnitz ! I am not so often posting evaluation but I came few times in 3 years and always the best food and perfect owners in this city ! Try the fish and chips, it's amazing ! Take care ! A french worker

We came across the small but very fine restaurant on our last evening, from the ambience to the background music, everything is just right here. The service is very courteous and friendly. Now we come to the important thing, the food... I had the rib eye, what can I say, that was by far the best piece of meat I had on the plate medium.....😍 In short, this evening was absolutely successful in the port city of Sassnitz.....😊🙏🏼 We'll definitely be back.....😊☀️🍀🙏🏼

Today we spontaneously went to König Gustav. It was one of the best ideas we had on vacation. From second onwards a very friendly atmosphere. The waitresses are super nice and exude wonderful serenity. The food came quickly and was great, neither of us had any complaints about it, we'll be back.

My meal (tapas plate) looked good and was also good average. Why is there never a dressing when salad is served as a filling on the plate??? My husband had the chicken with garlic and rice and he was a little disappointed with the bland seasoning. We could look into the kitchen: ...and we ask ourselves, why is the cook allowed to smoke in the kitchen and we had a smoking ban?!
