The gurnard and other varieties are very tasty. The staff is friendly and competent.

We discovered it by chance and think it's simply fantastic 😍 We think it's great that the animals and the children are served first. The animals are given water, and the children are given something beautiful to paint 👍😍 We had a school enrollment in Brandenburg today and went there for dinner. Everything was just super, super nice. We had a beautifully decorated table, and our little girl even got a little school cone as a gift 😍 Thank you so much again to all the staff there who contributed to our unforgettable day 😍😍

This family-run restaurant is ideal for enjoying local and German cuisine. It offers a good selection of food and drinks. The service is very friendly and attentive. All the dishes taste delicious. One small point for improvement would be the presentation of the dishes, but this is really only minor. The value for money is definitely good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The people who work there have a very unfriendly attitude towards customers. We tried to get a table there four days ago. We were turned away each time. Today on the phone, we were told that if we could get a table, we should come immediately. We arrived in five minutes and were turned away again. There were several tables available on site, but there were no reserved signs. When we called yesterday, the person on the phone laughed and said in a very rude tone that there were no spaces left, that we should have booked much earlier, and simply hung up. I don't think it's right to treat people like that. Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food, as we couldn't try it because there were no seats available.

We've been coming here for years. The food is modern and really good, with a clear focus on fish dishes.

When I asked if a table for 8 people was available, Instead of a simple, friendly answer, I was laughed at and asked if I was "teasing" the gentleman. I found this reaction extremely disrespectful and condescending. I would like to emphasize that a simple "Unfortunately, no" would have been perfectly sufficient.

As mentioned in other reviews, we weren't able to eat there either. We arrived shortly before 8 p.m. The restaurant closes at 9 p.m. There were several free tables inside and outside, all with "Reserved" signs. We were told everything was reserved and nothing was available...incomprehensible. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, even during the season. Some people can probably afford it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The website is no longer up to date.

It's highly recommended. The service was very humorous and friendly, and we were very well looked after. The food was excellent. There were delicious dishes for vegetarians and vegans, as well as a varied selection of meat and fish. We all enjoyed our meal.

I'd also like to review the food, but the restaurant seems to have a luxury problem. You have to make a reservation four days in advance; dropping in spontaneously isn't an option. If you make a reservation three days in advance, the most you'll get is a blunt "No, it's not possible." We only found out about this when we were there, were turned away, and then called back a day later. The website says NOTHING about this! Important for anyone who wants to eat there: Google says the opening time is 12 p.m. But it's actually 5 p.m., because we saw a sign at 1 p.m. that said exactly that. Is that just Wednesday? Or an exception? I have no idea; the restaurant is incredibly opaque! Very disappointing.

Very inflexible. We would have liked to try it out, but it wasn't possible to get a table for our desired time within three days, and when we called, a voice in the background said, "You have to tell us we're out of stock." If you can afford it, it's fine. We would have loved to go there with five people, with food and drinks, but that's not the case.

A very cute restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is super friendly. They knew us by name by now. The menu offers something for everyone: fish, meat, and vegetarian. Highly recommended, but make a reservation early, as it's very popular. They're also very dog-friendly.

We've been here many times on vacation. The food is excellent! The owner and staff are very friendly, attentive to their guests, and try their best to accommodate them. We've already made reservations again. The "Pup a la Pup" dish is a must when eating there! Children get one or two lollipops as a farewell gift. Dogs get water and even a treat as a farewell gift.

The food was very, very good. We were lucky to get a table; otherwise, the restaurant was fully booked. So, it's best to make a reservation in advance. The only criticism: when we arrived, there was no waiter to be found. We had to stand at the counter for a long time, and we were already getting stares from other guests. This restaurant is one of my personal favorites when we vacation on Usedom. The selection of dishes is perfect for a wide variety of needs and tastes. Whether we had meat, fish, asparagus, or desserts, everything was expertly prepared and delicious. The service is also excellent. It's best to make a reservation in advance!

The "Knurrhahn" is a must-recommend! Excellent service and very friendly staff. At this point, a huge compliment to the kitchen. They know their craft. Whether it was zander, cod, or plaice—we enjoyed it immensely. Every fish was expertly and perfectly prepared. First of all: The food was, as far as we can tell, very tasty and therefore no reason for the mediocre rating. We had the farmer's breakfast, and it was very well prepared, reasonably priced, and the portions were very generous. Unfortunately, the room we were seated in (we were seated in the basement) was more than problematic. We had been told we'd be given a separate room in the basement because there was no room available upstairs. So far, so good. However, we hadn't expected the real cellar atmosphere down there and the acoustics to be absolutely catastrophic. There was a large group at the next table, and you could barely hear yourself. We spontaneously decided to order a cheap dish and left after 30 minutes. We weren't the only ones who felt this way. There was another couple at the next table who also found the noise catastrophic. What we would have expected: A warning about the problematic acoustics when we made our reservation, at least a little understanding of the problem when we mentioned it to the waitress, and, overall, at least an attempt to make the room a bit more cozy and, above all, soundproof. It's probably very nice to sit and eat upstairs and outside. Unfortunately, we didn't make it there.

A cozy atmosphere invites you to linger. The fish platter (zander, cod, and gurnard) is highly recommended. The host here lives his profession and is a one-of-a-kind! If you bring your dog, you're always welcome!

Small but fine restaurant. There is a large selection of German cuisine. The price/performance ratio is right here. Dogs are allowed to be brought in. The staff is also super friendly, the children get something to paint and the dog gets something to drink. Due to the size of the restaurant, reservations should be made even in the low season. We would like to come a second time :-). Edit: In the end it was 3 times, we always enjoyed it.

At the end of our holiday we had dinner at Gurnrahn and were very satisfied. Friendly, authentic staff and great food. Questions about the selected food were answered immediately, which means that the waitress knows what is being served😉. There were four of us for dinner and all four of us were completely satisfied. Everything was great from the welcome to the farewell. A very extensive menu has something for everyone. The food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The price-performance ratio is great. Clear recommendation. We'd love to come back. 2024/25 Ate dinner at the Gurnard again on 3 evenings for New Year's Eve. What can I say!? We were completely satisfied again. Great restaurant. Always happy. But be careful!! Great restaurant in a location close to the beach, with its own parking lot, with the most dedicated and friendly service, and excellent fish dishes!!! The fried potatoes, mmmmhjamh, the fish, mhjammieh, the remoulade, starters salad with the delicious dressing, and an alcohol-free Störtebeker Weizen will make your mouth water 😋and if it still fits in, a dessert, here a delicious cream puff 😋 Thank you very much for that!

The service we received with our baby was extremely friendly and courteous. They immediately provided us with a high chair, helped us park the stroller and provided toys. The food came quickly, was very tasty and the prices were okay too. Thank you for the warm hospitality. We'd love to come back!

Food is fantastic and the landlord is an original and straightforward and I can understand him well if he doesn't necessarily want to use the limited space for "coffee guests" - dear people, the landlords also have to cover their expenses and pay their staff , you also have to make sure that it's worth it in the end. And since they definitely don't skimp on the quality or size of the portions, I think that's more than justified. Great fish and you'll definitely go home full!

Guests like us who just wanted something to drink were turned away. So much for guest numbers declining. It's also a shame for the Baltic Sea resort of Trasseenheide. It's not a good showcase.

We had a fantastic meal there today, everything was delicious, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The best thing was that our daughter with celiac disease could eat everything (she couldn't order 3 things: croquettes, cordon bleu and pickled herrings...all other things could be cooked gluten-free for her. It was clear that they knew each other very well there It looked good, even when it came to dessert, they made sure that she didn't have a waffle, it was pure luxury, she couldn't really decide what to eat, unfortunately you rarely have this choice.

We were at Gurnrahn for dinner on September 26th, 2024. Luckily we had made a reservation by phone as almost all the tables were occupied. After a short wait we were served by a friendly waitress. Our ordered drinks were quickly at our place. The selection of dishes was diverse. Despite the restaurant being full, we didn't have to wait too long for our food. The quality and quantity of the food we ordered left nothing to be desired. ( Great ) The Knurrhahn restaurant in Trassenheide is a must on our next visit to Usedom. Many thanks to the Gurnard team.

I, as a single guest, was sent away because I didn't reserve a place. 😢. A group after me, with 10 people registered, came with an additional 2 people, because the 2 were more okay.😠 Spontaneity was a thing! First time in Trassenheide and also the last time.

We were deeply disappointed with our visit to the Knurrhahn restaurant. As soon as we arrived we were greeted in an extremely unfriendly manner. When we asked if there was a place available for 6 people, a waitress greeted us with a smile and said: “We are full, you have to make a reservation four days in advance.” We rarely have such a condescending tone and rude behavior experienced. The staff overall seemed unfriendly and uninviting. Such service is unacceptable and leaves a bitter aftertaste. We had high expectations of the Knurrhahn restaurant, especially since the menu seemed really inviting, but we were completely disappointed. We definitely won't go here again and can't recommend it to anyone. There were far more inviting restaurants in the area, where we received a friendly welcome. Actually worth 0 stars!

When we asked in a friendly manner whether there was a place available for our family, we only received a short, succinct answer that we had to make a reservation 4 days in advance. A table even became free at that moment, but the waitress wasn't interested either. There is probably no interest in families with children here. If the food is as good as the service, it was probably better that we went a few places further. At least we received friendly service there and the food was great and cheaper too. In any case, the snarl won't see us anymore.

Reservations are recommended in the evening. When I went there early, I got a reserved table that was still available for 90 minutes, very friendly staff. Fresh cream mushrooms with potato rostis and a salad bouquet worked like this. The salad bouquet was obviously already prepared or bought that way and was very small. Too bad.

So I can truly confirm the unfriendliness of the operator. Hard to be outdone in terms of arrogance, he also threatened to throw us (5 people) out. We just asked if we wanted to drink 2-3 beers after eating... Two fellow patients from the neighboring rehabilitation clinic had enough and left voluntarily before eating. The dishes were great and tasty, but there was a problem with my order, it wasn't what I ordered...! Since I wanted to eat with the other remaining people, I skipped it and ate this. The waitress, who works full-time at the clinic and therefore knows us, went out of her way to look after us. Much to the dismay of the operator, who whistled at them in front of all the guests in a tone that bordered on being a serious insult! I think because of the really good location he is so sure of his income that he can perform like this...? I fell in love with Usedom during my rehabilitation stay and will definitely vacation there too. However, the gurnard will never see me again!
