For the past four years, we've always come to this exceptionally good restaurant to end our North Sea vacation. The dishes are down-to-earth, but expertly prepared with finesse and beautifully presented. The portion sizes are also perfectly acceptable. Outstanding food, a wonderful atmosphere, and very attentive service – we're already looking forward to next year.

This upscale yet approachable restaurant is a perfect choice for dining in the Dornum area. The menu isn't extensive, but everything is freshly prepared. There's a permanent menu and a rotating selection, so everyone should definitely find something to their liking. Vegetarians and vegans are also well catered for. For our starter, we had the boiled potatoes with aioli. It's almost too much for one person, but it's easily shared. Then we had the Käthe and Karl fish platter with fried potatoes and a large salad with our choice of dressing. We also had the porcini mushroom ravioli with the option of lamb. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked. Fine dining, indeed. The portions were generous, and the food arrived quite quickly. The drinks selection was extensive, including long drinks and a wide variety of wines by the glass and bottle. I particularly appreciated that a drinks menu was always available at the table. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The service was excellent. The restaurant is conveniently located on the main street of Westeraccumersiel in an old blacksmith's shop. It has a lovely, cozy atmosphere. In winter, a real, beautiful fire crackles in the fireplace. Even though it was the off-season in November, the restaurant was quite full. Making a reservation is definitely a good idea and can easily be done online via their website. All in all, highly recommended.

A gem in this small town, it creates an authentically cozy fireplace atmosphere with lots of love and care. The dining room isn't overly decorated, and the food is delicious, demonstrating that the chef is passionate about his job and knows his craft. Before you head to other tourist traps, you should come here. It can fill up quickly in the evenings, though. The owners make every effort to offer everyone a table, so it's worth calling.

Last night, we were looking for a restaurant to round off our day of vacation and came across the Käthe and Karl restaurant because we wanted to bring our four-legged friend along. So, we spontaneously made an online reservation a few hours in advance and were able to get a table at short notice. Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome, and the rustic restaurant with its large fireplace immediately creates a truly cozy atmosphere. The restaurant is lovingly, warmly, and warmly decorated. I don't even know which adjectives best describe the food, because all the dishes, including the desserts, were truly superbly prepared and delicious. The prices for the individual dishes are completely reasonable, and the dishes and portions are absolutely perfect. The service was excellent. They kept asking us if we needed anything else, if everything was satisfactory, etc. We felt very welcome and well looked after. All in all, I can only say: It was a fantastic end to our first day of vacation, and we would love to come back. Everything was just right here. Many thanks to the entire staff for this wonderful evening. 🙂

The service was very friendly and not at all intrusive. The ambiance was quite special and surprising. The food was very tasty. My only criticism is that I would have preferred it a bit hotter, and there was a bit too much pasta water on my plate. Regarding the wine selection, I missed the off-dry white wines from Rheinhessen (Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc). Otherwise, I can highly recommend Käthe & Karl and would eat there again anytime. Good gastronomy doesn't need stars! What Käthe and Karl's team offers here is simply top-notch. The food, the service – everything is of a high standard, and has been ever since we discovered this restaurant a few years ago. And the espresso afterward – I haven't had a better one anywhere (but that's a matter of taste).
