Dear hosts, We were your guests today with our dojo from Stuttgart. We came with open hearts, in community, in the joy of eating together. But what we experienced disappointed us in this openness – and it would be important to us to share this with you respectfully and clearly. We were seated, but not welcomed. The first order was taken only after repeated requests, and even at the end, when we were about to leave, we were ignored for minutes – visibly, patiently, pointing, but without a response. Only when I stood up, as a guest and yet also as a representative of our group, and addressed your staff directly, was our request to pay even acknowledged. Even then: without a glance, without acknowledgment, without a sign of connection. I'm not writing this to assign blame. I'm writing it because it's important to us – not out of pride, but out of principle. In the dojo, we live by a simple code: mindfulness, respect, and sincerity. And we expect the same dignity when we enter a place that calls itself a "restaurant"—a place that bears the word "guest" in its name. What I didn't mention in that situation: I'm known as a restaurant; I manage a channel with over 20,300 people, many from the region, many from around the world. We visit restaurants, share stories, and honor places of encounter. Today, I would have liked to tell you how wonderful it was to eat with you as a community. But that wasn't it. That wasn't the first time. And it's not anger that makes me write—it's sadness. Because we enjoyed being with you for so many years. And because true hospitality is more than just a plate on the table. Perhaps this was our last visit. But perhaps this is also the beginning of a different kind of conversation. One that doesn't begin with volume—but with listening. If I don't receive a response from you, I may share my experience in another way—not to judge, but to highlight what was painful from a guest's perspective. However, I sincerely hope that we can have a real conversation first.

Liebe Gastgeber, wir waren heute mit unserem Dojo aus Stuttgart bei Ihnen zu Gast. Wir sind gekommen mit offenen Herzen, in Gemeinschaft, in der Freude, gemeinsam zu essen. Doch was wir erlebt haben, hat uns in dieser Offenheit enttäuscht – und es wäre uns ein Anliegen, dies in Respekt und Klarheit mit Ihnen zu teilen. Wir wurden platziert, doch nicht willkommen geheißen. Die erste Bestellung geschah nur auf mehrfaches Bitten hin, und auch am Ende, als wir gehen wollten, wurden wir über Minuten hinweg übersehen – sichtbar, geduldig, deutend, aber ohne Erwiderung. Erst als ich aufstand, als Gast und doch auch als Vertreter unserer Gruppe, und mich direkt an Ihre Mitarbeiter wandte, wurde unsere Bitte, zu zahlen, überhaupt beachtet. Selbst dann: ohne Blick, ohne Anerkennung, ohne ein Zeichen der Verbindung. Ich schreibe das nicht, um Schuld zu verteilen. Ich schreibe es, weil es uns wichtig ist – nicht aus Stolz, sondern aus Prinzip. Wir leben im Dojo nach einem einfachen Kodex: Achtsamkeit, Respekt, Aufrichtigkeit. Und wir erwarten dieselbe Würde, wenn wir einen Ort betreten, der sich „Gaststätte“ nennt – ein Ort, der das Gastsein im Namen trägt. Was ich in der Situation nicht erwähnt habe: Ich bin bekannt, ich leite einen Kanal mit über 20.000 Menschen, viele aus der Region, viele weltweit. Wir besuchen Restaurants, teilen Geschichten, würdigen Orte der Begegnung. Heute hätte ich gern erzählt, wie schön es war, in Gemeinschaft bei Ihnen zu essen. Doch das war es nicht. Das war nicht das erste Mal. Und es ist kein Zorn, der mich schreiben lässt – es ist Traurigkeit. Weil wir so viele Jahre gern bei Ihnen waren. Und weil echte Gastfreundschaft mehr ist als ein Teller auf dem Tisch. Vielleicht war dies unser letzter Besuch. Vielleicht ist dies aber auch der Beginn einer anderen Art von Gespräch. Einer, die nicht mit Lautstärke beginnt – sondern mit Zuhören. Sollte ich von Ihnen keine Antwort erhalten, werde ich meine Erfahrung womöglich auf anderem Weg teilen – nicht, um zu richten, sondern um aufzuzeigen, was aus Sicht eines Gastes schmerzlich war. A completely disinterested waiter. Only one table is occupied outside, yet we've been waiting for 20 minutes for someone to even take our order. It used to be different here. The food was simply no comparison to what it used to be. Unloving...

Schade. Das war's für uns im Ilysia. Wir waren jahrelang Stammgäste und dem Restaurant sehr verbunden. Aber ein Teil des Servicepersonals ist inzwischen dermaßen unfreundlich, dass wir uns als Gast nicht mehr willkommen fühlen. Die Lage und das Ambiente haben uns immer angelockt, inzwischen aber eher Massenabfertigung, je nach Laune lieblose Zubereitung der Speisen und der Service (vor allem von zwei Kellnern) unterirdisch und zum wiederholten Mal wenig gastfreundlich. Am vergangenen Wochenende haben wir dem Ganzen noch einmal eine Chance gegeben. Doch wieder wurden wir genervt bedient und beim Bestellvorgang regelrecht angepampt, weil wir Vorspeise und Hauptgang in einem Atemzug genannt haben bzw. es ein kleines Missverständnis bei der Zuordnung der Getränke gab. Leider keine Empfehlung mehr, da kann man noch so schön auf der Terrasse sitzen, aber von Gastfreundschaft keine Spur mehr. Hier sollte der wirklich freundliche und zugewandte Besitzer seine Leute endlich in die Pflicht nehmen!

Disappointing experience on the wedding day - despite the great food, unfortunately the last time at Ilysia Yesterday, May 2nd, in bright sunshine and 30 degrees, we wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a nice lunch at the Greek restaurant Ilysia. I have been a long-time and actually enthusiastic customer - we have ordered food or enjoyed it on site over a dozen times. When it comes to the food, I've never been disappointed - it's simply delicious. Together with my parents, my wife and our three-year-old son, we arrived at our reserved table on the terrace at lunchtime. The mood was great – until the service began. Since we had a short walk to the restaurant, we first ordered two bottles of water. The waiter brought us five stemware. Worried that our son might knock over his glass, I politely asked for a child-sized, sturdier glass. Although the waiter subsequently passed our table several times - he brought the obligatory ouzo and took the order - he did not comply with my request. It wasn't until the third time, when I asked again in a friendly manner, that I received a one-minute lecture in response. They explained to me in a didactic tone that he would only bring the glass when it was convenient for him - that is, when he happened to be passing through the interior where the glasses were. From that moment on, the mood was understandably depressed. We found it difficult to keep our composure so as not to let the special occasion be completely ruined. The waiter's tone remained unfriendly, grumpy and cold throughout the entire duration of around 1.5 hours. A smile? None. “Please” or “Thank you”? If anything, then in a depressed mood and in a visibly bad mood. The food was – as usual – really very good. We paid around €150 for food and drinks, but consistently left a tip of €0. We went elsewhere for dessert and coffee. As sorry as we were, that was our last visit to Ilysia. To be fair, the other two waiters who came to our table sporadically were friendly and attentive. One even noticed that our bottle of wine was getting warm in the heat on the table and independently brought us a bucket of ice - a real sign of hospitality. And also: When we asked for food to be brought to our hungry son as quickly as possible, this was promptly implemented. An express thank you for that. But none of that could save the extremely poor overall impression. With a minimum of cordiality, the waiter in charge could have easily doubled his tip that day. Instead, we were served by a bad-tempered bear who – as harsh as it sounds – doesn't belong in the guest area. Some of the comments here suggest that our case is not an isolated one. Too bad. A place that we had enjoyed supporting for years left us permanently disappointed on one special day.

Our first visit was a year ago - disappointing at the time, but we wanted to give the restaurant a second chance. Unfortunately completely free. Nothing has improved, on the contrary: the service is miserable. The waiters, three older men, give the impression that friendliness is beneath them. No smile, no greeting, no trace of hospitality. The low point: All the other tables received a small dessert after the main course - only we were ignored. Apparently we just didn't fit into their picture. An absurdity. Anyone who behaves like this towards guests has no place in the catering industry.

The food was really great, but unfortunately we felt forgotten. We had to wait 45 minutes for our main course after the starter, while other tables that arrived later had long since been served. The waitress responded to our inquiry only briefly and without apology. In addition, everyone around us was offered ouzo - except us. It's a shame, because a quick apology and a little attention could have saved a lot.

A great and humorous service. We were there for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised by both the quality and the portion size. There is an ouzo beforehand and another afterwards. Cheers!

Service was good and the ambience was also ok. Starters were very tasty, only the fish platter and the lamb chops were very dry. The other dishes were probably very good. The prices for the dishes are quite expensive and the portion sizes absolutely do not match the price. Otherwise it was very nice there.

I ordered the Delphi plate and garlic bread and loved it! The delivery arrived extremely quickly and the food was still hot. The portion was generous and very lovingly prepared. The taste was excellent and the delivery person was very friendly.

Hello everyone, We had a voucher that unfortunately expired 9 days ago. Due to many personal matters we were unable to redeem it in time. We politely asked if there was a way to still redeem the voucher, but unfortunately the operator refused. It's a shame that no goodwill was shown here, even though it was only a few days over the deadline. This experience was disappointing.

We had a Christmas party there. Service was available, but could be much friendlier. The food was partly very good and partly very "exotically" seasoned and therefore hardly edible for us. A colleague's glass cracked when she was stirring with the straw and the entire drink spilled over her. All the staff said was “what did you do?” no apology, no paper, nothing.

We always enjoy staying at Ilysia. The food comes quickly and is delicious, and the price-performance ratio is also good for Stuttgart standards. Even though it feels like it's outside the core city, it's easily accessible by subway and offers a special view of the city nearby. So always very happy.

Today on November 15th, 2024 I ordered dish number 410 from the daily menu to take away. When paying outside the front door, the employee asked if I could please pay in cash instead of with a card. After I agreed, the man demanded 1.50 euros more than the stated price. The real price was 11.50 euros. The man boldly demanded 13 euros. Impudence and deceit. Rip-off of tips you don't deserve. Never again! No more desire to visit this restaurant.

We ordered the gyros and the Corfu plate, one with rice and the other with fries, one with a normal side salad and one with a farmer's salad. On the Corfu plate, the bifteki was delicious and good, the rice was tasty, simple but well made. Gyros juicy, large and thinly sliced, great. Could possibly be more strongly seasoned, but criticism is on a high level. Onion also fresh. Salads were both good, although the Greek one was a bit better. Fries good. Tzatziki delicious. I would describe the quality and quantity as good, one serving will fill you up overall. There was also a small free dessert, a yoghurt with fruit. Delivery was from the restaurant itself, everything was well packaged and the delivery person was very friendly. The prices per main course were around 15 euros (farmer's salad costs 2 euros extra) (September 2024) I also had a promotion through Wolt, which is why I only paid just under 20 euros plus received another 10 euros in credit, which is of course very good. I can't judge on site, but everything seems to be modern and slightly more upscale, which you can tell from the food. I appreciate that in any case. Overall, everything was perfect!

We have just come out of this restaurant and are truly stunned by the dispassionate, arrogant and overwhelmed service. Everything was loveless and you had the feeling that you were a burden as a guest. The first impression that supposedly decides to come back was bad. Since I worked in service for years, we gave the first negative impression a chance and stayed. We were there early in the evening and wanted to order a starter first and then the main course later and that didn't work. We should order everything right away. When I saw that there was a tuna steak, I wanted to change the main course (€10 more) even though the starter hadn't been served yet. Waiter: That's not possible because we've already ordered. The starter was okay and the main course was solid, but not a highlight either. The side salad is topped with ready-made dressing. We had to order our second drink “with a hand signal”. As I said, everything was loveless and not hospitable. Then we had already asked for the bill 3 times (although not our waiter) didn't pass it on and on the 4th attempt our waiter, instead of reacting appropriately, preferred to discuss the entire terrace area. oooh tone "You don't need to come back" Because I also said the service is catastrophic. So not open to criticism. From start to finish the hospitality was missing. Yes, we won't be coming back and I can't recommend it.

I had dinner there with a larger group a few days ago. We were lucky and got a great spot on the terrace. Really nice to sit there and in the evening you can even see some of the sunset. The card reads wonderfully. The taste is also very tasty. I think the price performance is right too. The only negative was that we weren't asked again for drinks or dessert after the meal. Unfortunately, one drink was forgotten and something was brought to the table twice that we hadn't ordered, one of which was even on the bill. Despite all of this, I would come back. It's just too nice to sit on the terrace and the food is really good.

Para conocimientos de fondo, he estado trabajando en la hospitalidad durante más de 35 años y crecí a unos 500 m de distancia de este restaurante donde me gustaba ir por un buen plato griego. Obviamente, muchas cosas han cambiado y no para mejor. En los viejos tiempos, el personal era rápido, bien informado y realmente orientado al servicio, siempre con una sonrisa en la cara y broma en los labios. Las personas que están esperando allí ahora (al menos los dos camareros mayores) son gruñones y antipáticos y no tienen sentido del significado del servicio a t a l . Estuve allí solo después de un largo día en la ciudad y solo quería relajarme, disfrutar de la rica comida griega que recordaba de tiempos pasados y dejar los eventos de los días atrás. Decidí tomar primero una bebida sin alcohol y el plato de arranque frío y luego ver si aún me quedaba espacio para más. Según "Gruñón - calvo" eso no era posible y tendría que pedir todo a la vez, porque tenían poco personal y no podían correr entre las mesas para tomar pedidos posteriores. Esto fue confirmado por "Gruñón - Barba blanca". . . En el momento en que estuve allí, había seis mesas con un total de probablemente 25 invitados y por lo que pude ver de camareros. En todos mis años de espera / barman y gestión - Nunca he oído más excusa coja para no querer servir. Pagué mi bebida y me fui y seguramente no volveré. El restaurante no tiene competencia por un radio de una milla, y ese parece ser el problema. Si hubiera competencia estoy seguro de que estarían fuera del negocio en cuestión de meses con este tipo de actitud. Como me fui sin comer no puedo decir nada sobre la comida, pero viendo lo mal que se ha vuelto el servicio no quiero saber cuál debe ser la comida ahora.

Good location near the tram stop. We just sat in the beautiful beer garden and everyone was very happy with the food. Attentive service.

There should be minus stars for the service! As soon as it is full, you are only offered a table in the blazing sun (other tables were still free!). Ultimately, I was happy to have an excuse for my colleagues not to go there, as the food is really bad now anyway.

Very good Greek restaurant with an interesting menu and a beautiful garden. With the nice weather, the beer garden was very busy, which pushed the service men to their limits. Nevertheless, they all remained friendly. Gladly again!

We made a reservation with a group of 9 people on Saturday, July 6th at 7:00 p.m. We were able to order drinks, but we couldn't order food until 8 p.m. We spoke to the waiter several times and at some point he said rather unfriendlyly that it made no difference whether we ordered now or later, as other groups would get their food before us anyway. The food came with a delay, so that the last two meat plates were at the table shortly before 9 p.m. The food was ok. There were 2 waiters at our table, one was very attentive and friendly, the other was very grumpy and almost unfriendly. If I don't have the capacity in the kitchen for this number of guests, then I can only occupy fewer tables.

Classic selection adapted to Germans with many meat-based dishes. I didn't feel welcome as a Greek. The waitress insisted on ONLY taking the drinks order first and then the food later. We were assured that fried potato slices were fried potatoes - strange.

On March 23rd, 2024 there were three of us and we ordered two dishes. And that's exactly why the waiter only left two sets of cutlery on the table for us! totally rude! I asked why, he answered: "yes! two dishes for three people!" We also got our garlic bread too late.

We became aware of this restaurant through a voucher that we received as a gift. The atmosphere is very nice and modern and the food is very tasty. For starters we had a warm mixed starter plate. For the main course we had the Paros plate with gyros and calamari, the gyros was not dry and tasted very good, unfortunately there were only 3 small calamari which was a bit small. We can also recommend the lamb stifado with potatoes and a very tasty sauce. After paying, we got a small bowl of yoghurt on the house as dessert. The waiters were very attentive and nice. We'd love to come back!

Man wird hier wirklich wie ein Gast empfangen und behandelt. Selten einen so guten Service gehabt. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und kompetent. Wir waren eine Gruppe von 9 Personen und alles lief einfach top! Alles was man bestellt wird sofort gebracht, man muss auf nichts lange warten. Der Tisch wurde immer im richtigen Moment abgeräumt und man muss nie ewig nach einem Kellner suchen, sie sind immer in der Nähe und haben alles im Blick. Man bekommt authentische traditionelle griechische Gerichte, alles ist frisch und schmeckt auch sehr gut. Vielen Dank für den tollen Abend!

Eine reine Katastrophe. Essen 0 . So viel Salz nicht mehr normal. Teilweise Bedienung nett. Wurde Essen bestellt und wurde es wieder in 2 Minuten abgeholt. Wir haben alle gegessen und ein Kind musste noch längere Zeit auf sein Essen warten. Das ist nogo. Der schlechteste Grieche überhaupt

Perfekt gegrillte Gerichte. Sehr schönes Ambiente. Hebt sich deutlich ab von "gewöhnlichen" Griechen.

Super Mittagstisch. Der Service war sehr schnell und das Essen lecker. Gute Auswahl aus annähernd der gesamten Karte mit etwas angepasster Größe.Der Ouzo aufs Haus ist auch zum Mittag dabei.

I went with my cousin, in-law and their daughter and it was my first time in Germany. To begin with, I definitely loved their welcoming. Despite having no reservation they managed to accommodate us into a bigger seating space. The service personnel were awesome. The menu had a lot to serve but I was the only was who couldn't speak German , but looked stuffed with various dishes. Prices looked moderate. The dishes were delicious. They began their servings with shots and vegetable platter. And their presentation looked amazing. The place is ideal for family groups friends with occasions. However finding a parking place could be trouble but can be checked with the restaurant for suggestions when you arrive over a call. Nearby attraction could be the view of Stuttgart to offer, which is opposite to this restuarant.

Nicht zögern, hingehen. Beim Griechen macht man nichts falsches, z. B. Lamm Spieße sind gut gewürzt und gut gegrillt. Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm, Bedienung arbeitet gut coordinert und natürlich freundlich

Wer ein gutes griechisches Restaurant sucht ist hier genau richtig.

Restaurant ist sehr schön ausgestattet, tolle Atmosphäre. Im Hintergrund spielte entspannte Musik. Service sehr zuvorkommend, u hilfsbereit.Wir mussten nicht lange aufs Essen warten, alles hat geschmeckt. Nur zu empfehlen, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ein Maracuja Saftschorle bestehend aus mehr als Sprudel,,ein Fertigsalat und das vegetarische Moussaka war das Gemüse total verkocht.

Gesamtpaket stimmt. Bin immer wieder gerne dort.
