A cozy place with excellent German food! Highly recommended!

The waiters are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is beautifully located in Besigheim. The food we ordered was freshly prepared, flavorful, and of high quality. The homemade raspberry lemon sauce was incredibly delicious! We've stopped by more than once on our trip.

The food was truly delicious. Beautifully presented and ready relatively quickly after ordering. Overall, though, it's a bit pricey in terms of price, not quality, but quantity. For just under €30, I think you'd expect the pork medallion from the "venison platter" to be a bit larger than your thumb's size – which was a bit disappointing. The piece of meat weighed less than 70 grams. The schnitzel and Maultasche weren't particularly large either. Not everyone will be full without dessert. I can also highly recommend the apple strudel. All in all, though, I wouldn't go there again. I don't think €70 for drinks and dessert for two people in Besigheim is appropriate. It's even a bit overpriced, given the rather traditional service.

A clear 5 stars for service and food. The choice was good. However, it could have been anything else on the menu (judging purely by the look of the menu). We were more than satisfied with the food and wine.

The service is a bit clumsy; not everyone likes being addressed informally. The food is okay, and the outdoor seating is nice, but the benches are a bit uncomfortable after a while.

Restaurant Hirsch is by far one of the best restaurants I've ever been to! Top-notch service, fantastic food, and a wonderful atmosphere, plus a super family-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended, and I'll happily return (every week)!

Our favorite place to take our guests is the Hirsch. Delicious food, very friendly service, and a lovely outdoor ambiance. The people in the upscale local restaurant industry should perhaps take a crash course in service there: all the waiters were very friendly, smiling, drinks were poured, plates were cleared promptly and not over the guests' heads. Please and thank you are standard here, and the dessert menu arrives promptly. You don't even get the feeling that you're being forgotten. The aisles between the tables are arranged so that waiters and guests can pass each other.

Everything was top-notch: excellent food (the cheese spaetzle is in a league of its own 👌🏼), fast and friendly service, and the atmosphere in Besigheim is wonderful anyway. 😊

overpriced...incompetent service girls

We've been to the Hirsch many times in the past. We've been back a few years ago and were very disappointed with how things have turned out. 1) We asked the waitress for a Kerner; she didn't even know what that was. We gave up after several attempts. 2) Ordered two wines and a small water, and the price was very, very (too) expensive! 3) We wanted a snack (soup)... Not available unless you order a main course! As nice as it is, they've lost us as customers... unfortunately!

Actually not a single star at all, but unfortunately that's not possible. Coffee guests are not welcome, which sounds different according to the website. We wanted to order apple cakes today, Friday afternoon around 4:15 p.m., whereupon the very unfriendly waitress more or less asked us to leave, either we eat properly, roast roast or something like that, otherwise there won't be any apple cakes. The tables are for guests who want to eat properly. We then left. Nothing like this has ever happened to us before. We've often come here to eat, but we probably won't do that again in the future. 3 years ago I was able to give a positive review

Very nice service. Knows well about allergens. Gluten-free was required and this was possible without any problems. Food came very quickly. It tasted very tasty. We'll be back. We recommend reserving a table in advance, as a lot of people come to eat here. I

An open kitchen throughout means everything is still available even after 2 p.m. Food excellent in quality and taste. Swabian and good!

Everything tasted good except for the red cabbage for the sauerbraten. Service was very nice and despite the store being full, everything worked and 5 people got their food at the same time.

The “Hirsch” in Besigheim used to be a very good address. I don't know...maybe we were just unlucky with the stuffed roast veal. This only consisted of the filling (which also tasted quite good) and a thin layer of fat; for me and my husband there was no veal. The spaetzle was ok but very salty even without sauce. The sauce though - really terrible! Extremely artificial tasting and extremely salty. My husband ate everything, I ate not all but some because we were just hungry. At the end, the waitress asked how the food was and we also gave our opinion, but unfortunately nothing came apart from a "I'm sorry" and whether we would like to order anything else. Well, that's too much to ask, what's supposed to happen?! All in all, it's clear to me that unfortunately I won't be going there again

Never had such a good Maultaschen salad

Sind spontan eingekehrt auf unserer Wanderung durch die Felsengärten und haben es nicht bereut. Hatten Maultaschensalat und einen Schwabenburger. Sehr lecker. Bedienung aufmerksam und super freundlich. Lockere gemütliche Atmosphäre. Kommen gerne wieder.

We were introduced to the delivery service at the company today. To test we received 1x Maultaschen with homemade gravy, 1x lentils, spaetzle and string sausage and cheese spaetzle. Everything is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! We will definitely order one or two times. By the way, we also think the concept is brilliant!

We spontaneously came here for dinner and had the Jägerplatte, Kellerbier and an apple strudel for dessert. It was really delicious and everything was freshly prepared. The salad, the meat and the spaetzle were great! We were completely thrilled. In addition, the restaurant attaches great importance to regional products and has a list of all suppliers in the menu, very commendable and rounds off the whole meal! The service was also great. Highly recommended! Gladly again soon :)

First visit and absolutely thrilled. Large, very cozy, rustic guest room and a somewhat simpler side room. Very attentive and friendly service. The food came quickly and exceeded our expectations. Top quality, lovingly prepared and extremely tasty. Dogs are also welcome. We will definitely come back.

Was that once a great place to eat and drink? Yes, that was once. We follow this from year to year and have now been there for the last time. Service? No drinks service outside in the early evening. Prices? Pepper steak with a small side salad extra 38.80.Spätzle, far from homemade. Nobody ever asks if everything is OK. It would have needed some more sauce. This is all our feeling and our opinion. It's a shame about the beautiful restaurant.

We were at the Restaurant Hirsch at Christmas (review was not posted). The food was delicious as always. Unfortunately the restaurant is not baby friendly. Closed baby bottle was not heated, baby chair without safety belt. Portions OK for me. For a man who is hungry, a main course with a side salad is not enough.

The roast suckling pig and the tagliatelle with chanterelles were an absolute delicacy! I haven't eaten as well as I did here in a long time and it was absolutely to my liking. The service was also very courteous and attentive. We will definitely come back to eat such delicious food!

We head to this great restaurant at least once a year. The prices are fair and the food is excellent! One of the few restaurants where the standard is consistently high despite all the crises. The staff are always friendly and accommodating and don't let themselves be disturbed even when there's a lot of stress. Keep it up 😀

It was very tasty, just like grandma's. Reservations are only accepted inside, but we were able to sit at the next available table outside. The homemade lemonade is good, but it comes at a price... Gladly again.

Actually no points for food and service! My companion has health reasons and can only eat soup. “That only works in conjunction with a main course.” She only got a soup because I ordered a main course. My main course was a sausage salad, dressed with way too much vinegar and the bread that came with it was completely dry. When I commented, no complaint, they said, “there are people who like it that way.”

I didn't find it particularly good value for money. 30€ for a 200g steak?? For what? 20€ for a Maultaschen? What? Inflation is kicking hard on the mountain apparently. Or do the employees want too much salary?

We were guests at the school graduation Deer. Courteous and friendly we were served. On this hot Friday, the summer menu was on the menu More than helpful. Really an experience in this beautiful town center of Besigheim.

Unfortunately only 3 stars. Why? Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. But. We have pork tenderloin with one!!! Ordered a side dish for over €21. There were 3!!! Small slices with pepper sauce on the plate. Even the waitress said it only looked that way because there were no side dishes. No. 3 slices of pork fillet with sauce and salad or a side dish is totally excessive for the price. If I had wanted more fries, I would have been at almost €28. That doesn't make up for the ambience or the good service. This is blatant usury. The soup was delicious, dog friendly. Therefore still 3 nice stars. Adjust price performance, then there will be more stars. So unfortunately a 😕😢

I've been there twice, once in early spring and once in summer. Food was great both times. If you are looking for something local and well made, to enjoy, this is a good place. It is more on the expensive side, but the portions are decent. In spring it was less crowded and the service was good, the waitress took really good care of us. In summer, it was more crowded and more busy and our waitress forgot about us at a certain point. They place is in the heart of the old town. If you go in the warm season, you can sit outside and admire the old buildings and the plants that they grow around. If you go in the cold season, i would recommend sitting in the right side of the restaurant, it looks better.

Beautiful restaurant outdoor terrace in the middle of the old town of Besigheim with nice staff. My husband and I ate roast suckling pig there this evening. It was a soft rolled roast - briefly warmed on the grill - with a sloppy, light fat rind and sauce. There was no crust whatsoever. We've had enough. But overall it wasn't tasty. We should have been suspicious when the guests at the neighboring table complained about the food In addition, it was at the table in a flash. In response to our complaint, the staff assured us that everything was always made fresh. We had imagined something different. Too bad about dinner.

Booking online worked well. We received a friendly welcome and the service was really good the whole time. The food was high quality and very tasty. We'd love to come back.

Absolute insider tip in summer, try eating outside, the old town has a wonderful medieval flair. Above all, treat yourself to the Maultaschen, which are by far the best I have ever eaten.

Quaint, beautiful restaurant in the middle of the town center. We had a very tasty meal - Italian. Because we came straight from a short hike, we were happily surprised when we got a table without a reservation

The online reservation worked without any problems. We were warmly welcomed. The map shows where each ingredient/meat comes from and how the restaurant optimizes its sustainability. The menu has something for every taste. We were there during asparagus season. All starters (asparagus cream soup and side salads) were fresh and delicious. The main courses were consistently excellent (steak with cognac sauce, chicken breast with asparagus and tagliatelle, steak with asparagus, schnitzel and fries), and the children also enjoyed it (children's menu available). For dessert we ordered Heiße Liebe and Kaiserschmarrn, both of which were incredibly good! We will definitely be happy to come again. We consider the price-performance ratio to be very good! Keep it up! There are public parking spaces nearby for a small fee - it's worth taking a walk in the beautiful old town afterwards! P.S.: The toilets were also clean and well maintained!

We ate at Hirsch on Ascension Day. Great weather, all the tables outside were occupied. We were offered to sit inside for the time being with the prospect of getting the next suitable free table outside. Menus have already been distributed. After a very short wait - we had just opened the cards - we were able to sit down. That worked really well. The order was then taken quickly and served quite quickly. We enjoyed the food very much, everything was beautifully prepared. The service staff were super fast and very friendly. Great. Overall, we found the prices to be comparatively high, although we are probably still in the adjustment phase ourselves after the high inflation with the corresponding effects on purchases of goods, energy and salaries as well as the VAT increase. Regardless of this and knowing that the Maultaschen were homemade and really, really tasty, we found the price (Maultaschen salad with 1 Maultaschen, Maultaschen in the broth with 2 Maultaschen + side salad) to be very high, even compared to the other prices. Of course, we understand the restaurant's pricing, but unfortunately we are less and less able to treat ourselves to something like this and we have often viewed Maultaschen as a cheap alternative compared to meat dishes, which we really enjoy eating. Overall it was still very nice, would come back, but maybe not eat any more Maultaschen dishes :)

Been there again today for a long time. Food was delicious. Despite the many family celebrations, we didn't have to wait too long. Particularly noteworthy is the super friendly and attentive service. The young lady was more than on her toes! Great!!!!

The asparagus we ordered was of good quality and tasty. Unfortunately our order was forgotten? I got my starter, which was followed by a 60 minute wait. 5 tables that arrived long after us had eaten their starters and main course and we were still waiting. It was only when we spoke to the waitress that she had the idea to ask in the kitchen. There was no real apology. Only the statement that she didn't know what was going on in the kitchen. We didn't get to order more drinks because the waitress didn't come over or ask proactively. Unfortunately, my request that the asparagus be served with butter instead of holondaise sauce could not be accommodated; only herb butter was possible? In the end I had no sauce. All in all, at lunchtime, when the place wasn't overly busy, we spent over 1 1/2 hours for 2 main courses and a soup. For me, the price/performance ratio doesn't fit in relation to the service quality. We will switch to other restaurants in the future.

Yesterday we were at the Hirsch for the first time...And we definitely weren't there for the last time. I haven't had such good service in a long time👍. The boss and her team live and breathe gastronomy and really enjoy working and it shows. 😊👍. As a starter there was an asparagus cream soup, which was very tasty but a bit too salty for my taste, but I have to say I'm a bit sensitive about that because my wife didn't like it. For the main course I had the onion roast with spaetzle, and it was very tasty😊. I can also recommend the house-made lemonades, they are really tasty and something different. We'll definitely be back, keep it up.👏 👍

Very good food. The offerings on the menu are extensive, but the menu itself is a bit confusing. A conversation with the service staff is always worthwhile and quickly brings the expected result. You can also sit in front of the deer in the "pedestrian zone", which is not a pedestrian zone. Advantage: historical surroundings, fresh air, sun. Disadvantage: vehicles roll past you every few minutes. Definition of motor vehicles: cars, sprinters, motorcycles, tractors.
