Restaurant HENRIKS in Hamburg

For me it was a very weird restaurant visit. Emotionally I was prepared for paying more money than I'd usually do on food I'd usually don't eat in a restaurant more fancy then I'd usually go to. So I entered the experience with some expectations. All because HENRIKS is mentioned in the guide Michelin. First of all: it was a nice experience!! Please don't consider my following comments as too rude. It's my German nature to state facts straight out. So here comes: When we arrived I was surprised about the noise. There were many people there talking and then there was quite loud music on top of that. The tables were very close to each other as well and they were large. So I sat closer to strange people at the next table then my boyfriend across from me. At the end of the night I knew where those strangers liked going on vacation and what their jobs are. But I didn't get to enjoy a lot of time with my boyfriend. The food was good. I felt it missed some spark here and there, but it was great. Not too many spices, just plain prawns and plain steak accompanied by saffron rice, fries and truffle mayonnaise. We had the tuna tartar in the beginning and the creme brûlée at the end. All good. Nothing crazy but good. I enjoyed the service mostly. They have weird chairs here and the waiter made a funny scene at the beginning of our stay to show us that they are safe (you'll understand when you go there some day) Also they took away our plates at the perfect moments. And asked if we needed breaks in-between our courses. That was very nice! Concerning the wine menu: we didn't even know it existed. Probably we should know that in an establishment like this there'd be a menu for that, of course, but still... You shouldn't have to ask? So we learned of it's existence by overhearing the conversation at the table next to us. But it only had whole bottles listed. So it wasn't an option for us anyways. Maybe they suspected? In the end we payed a little over 200€ for two very well stuffed stomachs, and we still had things to talk about on our way home. Even more since we both had opinions on the conversation of the table next to us. I don't think I'd do it again for this money. Just to sit with posh people. I prefer being able to talk to my company and maybe stay a little longe because it's fun to keep drinking the next glass of anything really.

Very charming but unfortunately somewhat uncoordinated and seemingly inexperienced service. The food was too expensive for what it was. The lobster soup, which cost over €70, came lukewarm to almost cold. The rest was okay but a bit overcooked. You can get better elsewhere. The clientele was sometimes abysmal. It's no longer worth it at all. A real shame.

Henriks is located very close to Dammtor station and can be reached within a comfortable walk. Despite the upscale ambiance, the atmosphere is relaxed. A great menu, and the quality of the food and drinks is outstanding. The service was very attentive, making it highly recommended. The only drawback is that some of the tables are very close together, which slightly limits privacy. Regardless, this definitely won't be my last visit.

The quality of the food was top-notch. So was the service. The chairs should be replaced. They're a disaster.

Not again. Incredibly expensive (bottle of water €14 - FOURTEEN!), very loud, chairs that slip out from under your butt, long waits, and the refusal to extend the reservation because a third guest was struggling with the inconveniences of the German Federal Railway are absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant of this quality. The bread and butter were okay, but we skipped the rest and drank only water and a cocktail, which was also prepared royally.

A fantastic evening at Hendricks in Hamburg! We ate at Hendricks today – and it was absolutely fantastic. The schnitzel was perfectly golden brown and buttery tender, the truffle pasta was a dream, and it was accompanied by a wonderfully fresh rosé wine. The three kinds of steak tartare were also a real highlight – finely balanced and perfectly flavorful. A very special thank you goes to Nathalie, our waitress: attentive, warm, and with just the right feel for her guests. Her service made the evening truly exceptional – friendly, charming, and simply top-notch! We will definitely be back – and hope Nathalie will be there again.

We had dinner there two nights ago. My husband ordered a lobster burger, and I ordered a chanterelle mushroom risotto. Unfortunately, the lobster meat in the burger was only lukewarm and a bit tough. The risotto was okay, but I didn't find it outstanding. We won't be going back to this restaurant, however, because the chairs slide apart so awkwardly on the smooth floor that you feel like they're about to give way. It was also quite loud, making it difficult to hold a conversation or understand the waiter.

Shameful and unacceptable! We came to Henriks for lunch, clearly stated that, and ordered. Instead, we were sold a Wiener Schnitzel at full price – €38 – without any warning, even though we specifically wanted lunch. This is disrespectful and seems like deliberate deception of the customer. The highlight: Employee Olaf spoke to me in an aggressive, loud, and condescending tone – right in front of my child. Although I remained calm and polite and asked him to speak more respectfully, it only got worse. Apologies? No such thing. Instead, only accusations. Other guests watched in shock. Lunch should be a relaxed meal – here, our mood was completely ruined. Hospitality and respect apparently do not exist at Henriks. For us, it's clear: Never again Henriks – absolutely not recommended.

The perfect dinner in Hamburg. We'll definitely be back when we're in Hamburg. Both the vegetarian and meat and fish dishes are highly recommended. Our selection: Vegetarian: - Beetroot Tartare - Truffle Spaghetti Meat: - Classic Beef Tartare - Grilled Salmon in Teriyaki Sauce Drinks: - 0.75 l Bottle of Sparkling Water - 0.75 l Bottle of Pinot Gris Cost: €179.00 It sounds like a lot at first, but for the quality you get, it's definitely worth every euro.

Very good food! Not exactly cheap. Excellent service, but those uncomfortable chairs, please. I was initially going to deduct a star for that.

I tried the porcini mushroom risotto – it was truly delicious! The food (including that of the other guests at the table) was excellent, and the service impeccable. However, the music was a bit too loud, which slightly spoiled the ambiance.

Wow. Rarely, truly rarely, have I experienced such efficient service. Perfect in every detail. The food was delicious, but some restaurants can do that. This one also stands out with its wonderfully attentive staff. They keep an eye on absolutely everything. That's what makes you feel good 😻👍🏻.

The food was good but far from great for the price. Felt the service was very underwhelming for a €100+ meal. We waited roughly min before before we were greeted by a waiter. Then had to wait another 10 min for them to return with the wine menu. We were considering getting a bottle of wine and were rushed by the sommelier. He didn't bother asking our price point and returned with a €120 bottle of wine. After expressing what we would like to spend he returned a second time with another bottle outside of our range. Because of this we opted for pre dinner cocktails and glasses of wine with dinner instead. Finally, when choosing a glass of wine, I asked which of the wines by the glass were closest to my liking. I made my choice thinking it was the varietal on the menu. However, unbeknownst to me, they brought a glass that was not on the menu that was significantly more expensive than the one listed. I am ok with paying more but I like to know what I am getting before hand. All in all I felt the experience fell short of the price and will not be returning.

To be honest: It was okay, but not a highlight. The service was good and attentive, nothing to complain about. The clientele seems to be 90% real estate people and bankers – if you like that. The atmosphere is quite loud, which isn't really suitable for a relaxed dinner. The menu sounded more exciting than what actually arrived on the plate – solid in terms of taste, but nothing more. Okay for a business lunch, but for a special evening, I'd go somewhere else.

The food was hard to beat, but the service still has room for improvement (just a tiny bit). The chairs inside are a definite downside. They definitely need replacing (several guests mentioned this independently of us that evening). Unfortunately, these chairs aren't comfortable to sit on.

Excellent restaurant. I thought all of the dishes that I ate and shared with the other two people I came with here were all very balanced, and significantly hearty for a fancier restaurant. The beef tatar had a slight kick that was very satisfying when eating, although it was served with a quail egg that I thought was very overcooked and some pieces of salad and cream that felt a bit wrong. The beetroot tatar with goat cheese was excellent due to its pairing of sweet and sour so it would be the starter id recommend to a friend. The wild shrimp were very well cooked, which is a hard job to do, and I felt that the saffron rice was legit and definitely able to taste the saffron. It came with aioli and tomato sauce that gave options of balancing the heartiness of the meal with some creaminess or acidity. The filet mignon that my friend had with truffle mashed potatoes also was very well cooked, to my friend’s medium rare wishes, and had a good light texture to it. The spaghetti ice cream was half melted upon arrival, but considering we were one of the last in the restaurant, I cannot blame that on anyone except our late stay. The service was excellent, and I really respected the restaurant for not kicking us out or being upset with us for our extended stay. I also found the staff very nice and funny, and thought it helped the atmosphere. The lighting and volume in the room was my only complaint. The lighting tended to be too dark for my food and to properly read the menu, and when we arrived, the restaurant tended to be difficult to hear in. Ultimately, this is personal preference. This is definitely a restaurant to visit. I very much enjoyed it, and it’s a good place to bring your friends visiting Hamburg and need some international cuisine.

Top service and food, gladly again

I ordered food for pickup. While I was waiting, the chef in the open kitchen, clearly audible to me as a guest, got upset about my order: "It's much too big, how are you supposed to package something like that, how can you order something like that, etc." Unworthy of a high-quality restaurant and totally inappropriate. The entire team is averagely friendly, as you'd expect. But this experience was a disaster. I'm appalled and won't be coming back.

I was here a while ago and it was excellent even back then. You can sit outside if the weather permits. Cool, chic location, combination of space and narrowness, subtle feel-good style with a touch of Nordic special. The welcome is refreshingly warm, we were given a table in the right wing, with a good view of the entire room, between two larger parties. The small 0.1 cl Mini Stauder beer is a special feature, the Mini Aperitif. Afterwards a small Blanc de Blanc, which is also available here. Wonderfully lively, not too dominant. Dangerously good. The oysters plain or gratinated with bleu and garlic and refined with truffles are a first culinary highlight. The “Jamon Iberico” does the rest and clearly shows the way to the main course. Here we were impressed by the “wild prawns in garlic broth” and the “pasta with lobster” - a small special request that was elegantly mastered by the kitchen - which was completely convincing. A deliciously delicious fresh lobster pasta variation with fresh asparagus and a slightly spicy note, enriched with fresh herbs cut to micrometer lengths. Full flavor broadside. Crazy, you can only get them this good in Italy - or here. The Chardonnay from Sicily is an excellent, worthy companion. Thanks to the top service - always calm and professional, very accommodating. As the level of saturation increases, the location noise level also increases. Good mix. Discreet, not too loud, somehow a trattoria gourmet feeling near the Alster. The “Affogato al Caffe Henriks” was a must and with dessert I was able to end my culinary tour of Europe satisfied with Creme Brulee. The espresso macchiato barked with delicious crema - top quality - and of course an amaretto on ice and a limoncello rounded off the program. The mood is now great for the subsequent “Zwick” visit - ideally within walking distance. What a perfect day. Thank you to the Henriksers.

Great ambience, good service, expensive but price/performance definitely fits! Wishes are fulfilled - whether drinks or food. In the right place in the restaurant, has a good view of the kitchen. A small round bar. In summer it is also possible to dine outside. Definitely worth a visit.

Noisy atmosphere and service was not good. We are a married couple on valentine's expecting good and attentive service. For the x amount paid for such a fine dining experience they should make the atmosphere better by being friendly or nice to guests and not move around so much in haste. Food was well prepared.. but again the service

Henriks simply has the best carpaccio in Hamburg! My boyfriend and I really enjoy coming here - the food is great, it's always really nice and fun, and we love spending long evenings here. Absolute recommendation!

We had a very successful business lunch with a total of six people. The waiter was very attentive and put together a starter variation for us that was excellent. The Chateaubriand as the main course was very tender, we were all thrilled and would certainly recommend HENRIKS.

I can only recommend this beautiful restaurant, excellent service, very tasty food. We'll definitely be back.

Can't go wrong here. On point entrecote with great wine pairing. (Maitre should ask for a price point though rather than suggesting a €120 wine) Terra di Montevero was a wonderful bordeaux like Tuscan that matched perfectly! Very attentive service always keeping glasses poured and ensuring all is up to expectations. One small improvement would be the legibility of the menu in such low light environment. Everyone used there mobile phone light. 😏

Dieses Restaurant gilt als gehobene Adresse! Ist es meiner Meinung nach nicht! Es ist Systemgastronomie ! Sehr enttäuschend. Der Tuna war ertrunken in Sojasauce. Die Udonudeln verkocht. We went this restaurant for dinner with our guests at 20/12/2024. Foods was excellent. But servis was not good. There was one person who was take food orders and she was ineligible.. End of the dinner we want to eat some deserts and she bring deserts cards but she never come back to take desert orders for 10-15 minutes back. finaly I waked up and be obliged to warn her to help us. Also there was noise too much in the restaurant. We never heard each other good. Every body was shouting to talk.

That's not how it works! Very good food, nice waiter, but after starter and duck. The main course then came with a nasty surprise: the duck took 45 minutes to prepare. While we were eating it, it was said, “Unfortunately, you have to pay now.” The table will be reassigned from 8 p.m.! Even the waiter was uncomfortable. At this price, you can't continue out in the cold with the leftover food and the remaining bottle of wine!!!

So this is how criticism is dealt with... Unfortunately, as in the restaurant, there is no apology and even better, the first review is deleted! As already written in the first review, now only in the short version, ambience is great, food and service unfortunately a flop!

A great place to eat quality food

The fillet steak boscaiola served with mushroom sauce and puréed potatoes…I highly recommend, I cannot fault it! It was cooked perfectly. Care is taken to the finest detail of brunoised vegetables for the sauce. Just lovely. The interior design creates a beautiful and refined ambiance at night, but the acoustics lets the whole experience down. When the restaurant is at capacity it is very noisy and difficult to converse. The service was professional.

A really nice evening for four...unfortunately we sat in the most terrible chairs the world has ever seen. When we sat, the chairs gave way at least 10-15 cm...we were sitting like frogs at the table. The ambience, the service, the food…excellent!

I recently dined at Restaurant Henriks while visiting Hamburg, and unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the restaurant's upscale image or pricing. While the food was well-prepared and tasted good, the service and atmosphere fell short. From the moment we checked in, the tone from the staff was overly casual. The most interesting part of the evening was the couple seated next to us with a dog on their lap. At this price point and in a fine dining setting, this is absolutely unacceptable. The staff seemed fine with it. The rest of the process from getting the bill to retrieving our coats at the end of the night felt really disorganized. I shared my feedback privately with the restaurant after my visit but received no response, which was disappointing. For a place with such high ambitions, these service issues should be addressed to provide an experience worthy of the price and reputation Henriks is trying to build.

Ambiance: From the outside, the Henriks presents itself as an inviting building that impresses with its attractive lighting design. The first impression is positive and raises high expectations. Service: Unfortunately the reception was not optimal. The organization seemed chaotic as guests waited in the entrance area and there was a lack of clear structure. After a wait of about 5-6 minutes, our reservation was finally found. Unfortunately the table wasn't chosen well at all. After 10 minutes we received the cards, which is not acceptable in a restaurant. Food: The wait for the starters was about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, various types of bread were served without seasonings such as salt or pepper, which diminished the overall impression. - Starters: 1. Tuna-Tataki: Visually appealing in a caviar tin, but tastes good. 2. Tempura shrimp: The taste is also good, but the presentation is rather simple. The main courses took another wait (35 minutes). - Main courses: 1. Surf and Turf (beef tenderloin and 1/2 lobster with truffled mashed potatoes): The beef tenderloin was ordered medium but arrived rare. After grilling, it was brought back as medium rare in the form of medallions. Although the mashed potatoes were flavored with fresh truffles, they lacked basic spices, which made the entire dish disappointing in taste. 2. Grilled Octopus: Again, the taste was bland and uninspiring, which is unacceptable in a restaurant of this price range. Value for money: For a total of €220.50 (excluding wine) you would expect much more in terms of both the quality of the food and the service. Conclusion: Overall, the visit to Henriks was disappointing

Rebecca does a great job and has the place under control even though the kitchen was completely overcrowded that evening.

We came to this restaurant spontaneously on a Friday evening and were warmly welcomed. The food was simply fantastic. I had the lobster salad for starters, which was the best lobster I've had in years. For the main course I had a beef ragout, it was excellent. The service was very nice and the entire evening was a success. We will definitely come back!

Really good restaurant with a nice atmosphere and brilliant service. I think visiting that place is a must. Every dish is fresh and delicious. When they promise a truffle in your salad or pasta, there is a lot of it freshly shaved. 😋 The meat melts in your mouth, and the beef tartare is just perfect. 👌 In my opinion, they could use slightly less salt for people like me who don't eat that much of it.

The Henriks restaurant is always worth a visit when you are in Hamburg. On a mild summer night, the best place to enjoy your stay is on the restaurant's terrace. The staff is always extremely friendly and accommodating, even if we take our time and sit at the table beyond the opening hours because we forget the time. A dessert is sometimes even possible even though the kitchen is actually closed - I would want to give more than 5 stars for that alone if I could. The food is always a taste highlight and I can only warmly recommend it to everyone. The starters such as tartare or carpaccio and the steaks as the main course are particularly convincing. On my last visit I also had the beetroot salad, which tasted fantastic and I would have liked to order it a few more times. I would even prefer the Corn Crispy Fries over regular or Sweet Potato Fries and the dessert was the icing on the cake. The combination of warm cherry cake with the chocolate sorbet on top that melted was to die for. I can only warmly recommend a visit and it is one of the highlights for me every time I am in Hamburg

La comida no es nada especial, pero el mayor problema era el servicio. La señora mayor era bastante grosera cuando queríamos pagar me dejó esperar de pie a su lado mientras hablaba con sus colegas... tan grosera para un restaurante de ese nivel por ese precio. Así que normalmente doy un 10% de propina pero esta vez 0% de offcourse, así que no fue inteligente de su parte. El camarero obeso está dando un servicio como si fuera amigo de todo el mundo no de una manera que debería ser en un restaurante de este nivel... Así que en general el servicio no es bueno en absoluto, aunque la cocina es bastante buena, pero necesita un buen gerente de restaurante muy pronto. Estuve allí el 2 de agosto para almorzar.

HENRIKS is one of my favorite restaurants in Hamburg. EVERYTHING is delicious here. My favorites are the appetizers and the tomahawk steak. The wine selection is also extremely good. For dessert we always eat a scoop of homemade salted caramel ice cream (even if we can't fit any more). Not a bargain price but worth every cent!

Un lugar agradable y muy ocupado, donde nos trajo por nuestros amigos locales y que tenía una mesa vacante en un corto plazo de aviso, mientras que un par de otros restaurantes que estábamos ansiosos por llegar estaban llenos. Había un poco de lío con los camareros tratando de estar en todas partes al mismo tiempo, pero lo hicieron bien, y la comida era impecable: ya sea gazpacho o sarro de res y el filete con chanterelles al lado. Pero mi favorita era la ensalada de langosta, que era rica y muy sabrosa.

Everything all around great. A safe bet for the finest food, wine and great service right from the start. In contrast to many others, a good beer is also poured into good tulips here - for a wonderful aperitif from the bar. Our guests from the Heinshof riding stables in the Lüneburg Heath and we are always happy to come back! And we are also happy to take advantage of the catering. Top class. A very good restaurant in the center of Hamburg! If you want friendly service, a nice ambience and delicious food, then eat HERE! The restaurant not only offers delicious dishes in the evening, but also a great selection of weekly changing dishes at an attractive price for lunch (Mon-Sun)!

Das Henriks ist ein hervorragendes Restaurant. Wir waren heute Abend das erste mal auf Empfehlung dort. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr zuvorkommend, jeder Extrawunsch wurde uns erfüllt. Wir hatten als Vorspeise das Tatar und als Hauptgang das Chateaubriand für 2 mit Pfifferlingen und Trüffelsauce. Wenn es möglich wäre würde ich hier sogar zehn Sterne vergeben. Es war sogar insgesamt besser als im Grill im Hotel Vierjahreszeiten. Zusammengefasst absolut empfehlenswert. Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder. Lieben Dank an Sven für seine Geduld mit uns und ein Lob an die Küche.

Great selection of dishes! Super idyllic location. We sat on the sunny terrace! Service seemed a bit overwhelmed at times; we sometimes had to remember to order drinks and the bill. First there was an incorrect bill...that should have been noticed as there were 5 main courses and there were only three of us, i.e. about twice as much! Given the prices, I expect top service and, above all, a clean tablecloth, so only 4 stars for the service! Room for improvement!

Very nice restaurant with a great ambience. The service on site was extremely good and courteous. The dishes were beautifully presented and really tasty, shout out to the chefs, it was absolutely delicious! First class work! Fine workmanship down to the last detail. I would be happy to recommend this restaurant, with its staff and excellent cuisine, we will definitely come back when the time comes. All in all, a very enjoyable evening and a lovely visit to the restaurant. Thanks! :)

Excellent food and great service. The only problem: the steak was so good that I didn't want to cover up the taste with the Bearnaise sauce I ordered :-)

Moin Folks, nun, letztes Jahr hier gewesen und jetzt aktuell zu Pfingsten, die Hütte war ganz gut besucht und selbst Sylvie Meis war gestern da. Es war gut, die Speisen sind ein Traum, der Service ganz gut, könnte immer etwas besser sein, nun Claas hat auch was, dort waren wir bereits in der kurzen Eröffnungszeit schon zweimal. Hier im Henriks ist es schon geil, richtig geil, guten Appetit.

Cadre, ambiance, deco très très sympa. Repas excellent et haut de gamme. Ce restaurant est au guide Michelin et c’est totalement justifié.

Food tasty, not cheap but quality costs money. Service good, very nice and friendly. Location is ok, nothing special. But €11 for a 0.7 water… sorry but what is that? Am I here in St Tropez? 😂

I've already visited a few restaurants in Hamburg, but Henriks, right next to the Grand Elysee Hotel, is one of the best. The menu is constantly being supplemented with seasonal dishes and is also diverse in other ways. The tartare with quail egg is a perfect starter. The asparagus with fillet tips was really great. The very extensive wine list covers many well-known growing regions in Europe and also offers wines from overseas. Quality has its price and this quality is worth it.

The restaurants is well designed and decorated. Professional and friendly staffs. Food are diversity and amazing. Fresh seafoods.

SAP canteen, which is also part of the restaurant, is great, super nice employees and very helpful.

Fantastic dinner, friendly, competent, extremely customer-oriented service - a wonderful evening - we'll be happy to come back!

Perfect ambience, exciting menu with small highlights and always super polite staff. I always enjoy going to HENRIKs. The outdoor area is particularly recommended in warmer temperatures. Wine list is very extensive.

Spaghetti Vongole (with olive oil, parsley and garlic) = €31.00. Cost of goods estimated at €1.00. At first I thought these prices were a joke. Not recommended for a private visit (without expenses), even for the wealthy, because the price/performance ratio is not right here and as a guest you just feel like a milk cow! I lost my appetite pretty quickly.

This place is the real deal and the food was spectacular with a wide array of dishes and all hit the mark I must say. Service could lift !!

It's a nice restaurant but unfortunately very noisy. I've been there three times so far and I ate there twice, but both times it was loud. However, it is nice outside (summer). Can be highly recommended

The steaks were perfectly prepared and a real culinary delight. The starters were very tasty and rounded off the culinary experience.
