Restaurant Henkelmännchen in Köln

A few days ago, I went to "Henkelmännchen" for a tasting before a family celebration. The menu included at least one vegan option, among others. Excellent! The dining area is spacious, the service is friendly, and the portions are more than enough to satisfy any appetite. I tried the Solyanka myself. Absolutely delicious. The prices are very reasonable for the high-quality food and ambiance. Reservations are recommended for larger groups. A superb selection of music played unobtrusively in the background during our meal. I will definitely be back. In conclusion, I highly recommend it. Just go and try it out. It's worth it.

We booked the restaurant's buffet as an upgrade before a concert for over €50 per person. It included cold Spätzle with turkey breast wrapped in sage and bacon, tortellini, and a sauce. There was also the usual selection of salads with various dressings. A variety of cold finger foods were available as an appetizer. For dessert, there was fruit with vanilla sauce or chocolate vanilla cream. It's all a matter of taste, and it wasn't to our liking. The price, the quality, and the self-service aspect were all too good to be true – not ideal. You're better off in restaurants on the other side of the Rhine. The atmosphere had all the charm of a train station waiting room. Never again!

Event upgrade: I define delicacies at festively set tables differently. Artificial flowers and tissue napkins on a table without a tablecloth or at least napperons aren't festive for me. Pumpkin ravioli, spaetzle, and chicken breast saltimbocca are seasonal delicacies.

The sub-par canteen food is topped off by sub-par service where cash is refused.

A very large selection of dishes, and a hot meal is available for lunch starting at 12:00 PM. While it's a bit more expensive, it's definitely worth every cent—and certainly won't be the last time I'll be here.

We waited for our concert at LanXESS Arena and passed the time with good food and drinks.

Whether it's crispy rolls, fragrant scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, cheese and sausage specialties, or delicious hot dishes – there's something for everyone here. The homemade desserts and cakes are especially delicious! The beverage selection also leaves nothing to be desired: coffee, tea, juices, and a welcome glass of sparkling wine or orange juice perfectly round out the offering. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair, and the quality of the food speaks for itself. If you're looking to spend a relaxing Sunday in Cologne with family or friends over a delicious brunch, you should definitely visit Henkelmännchen. My conclusion: A lovingly prepared buffet, friendly service, and a great atmosphere – everything is just right here! I'll definitely be back.

We went to Henkelmännchen for brunch with a larger group on a Sunday. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet; there was a huge selection. There was always plenty of everything, and everything was delicious. Lunch, however, had a more cafeteria-style feel and didn't really impress us. We just continued eating the breakfast items and were all full :-) The service was very nice, though not particularly fast. We would come back just for the breakfast.

Überhöhte Preise zu schlechter Qualität. Die Preiserhöhung ist nicht gerechtfertigt, viel zu wenig Essen. Da helfen auch nicht die neuen Fantasieausdrücke für Hausmannskost und das Live-Cocking.

First of all, I can't understand the bad reviews. The staff is super friendly, very accommodating. I would like to be anywhere. The buffet was very well stocked, from normal rolls, grain rolls, bread, croissants, chocolate rolls, Franzbrötchen, etc. Everyone should find something they like. Various muesli, dried fruits etc. Fish fans also get their money's worth, as do vegans. There were different toppings for the rolls, whether savory or sweet. Scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, beans, etc. were available around the clock. At around 12 p.m. the main courses were added. Small various desserts and cakes were of course also available. In addition, you could always get juices as well as coffee and cocoa. As soon as something ran out, it was refilled. Everything tasted very good too. Absolutely recommended.

Wir haben in diesem Lokal in Verbindung mit einer Veranstaltung in der Arena ein Buffet gebucht. Die Qualität war nicht schlecht, allerdings gehe ich bei einem Buffet für das p. P. ca. 50 Euro gezahlt wurden von mehr als einem Hauptgericht (Hähnchenbrust mit Schupfnudeln und Möhren) aus. Was machen Vegetarier? Den Vorspeisensalat die Schupfnudeln und das Möhrengemüse essen? 1 Dessertvariation? Der Service ließ ebenfalls zu wünschen übrig. Zeitweise entstanden lange Warteschlangen, weil irgendetwas fehlte.... Fazit: Wir haben gegessen, es war lecker und wie sind satt geworden. Aber dieses Buffetangebot werden wir wohl nicht mehr wahrnehmen.

Third-class canteen atmosphere. Food average. Nothing is added either. When someone asked for a roll they said there was none left. In summary, an absolute failure.

It's better to go somewhere else if you just want to have a coffee. The staff is hopelessly overwhelmed, the menu is incorrect, the atmosphere is like a train station bakery. Never again.

Never again! I can understand why many only gave 1 star. The waiting time until you get the food takes forever and doesn't taste good either. Inside it looks more like a canteen than a restaurant. And the prices are way too expensive. I'd rather go to McDonald's and get a menu where you get more for your money.

We went for brunch on Sunday before the Kölner Haie game against Augsburg. The food was very good and it was always refilled immediately. The service is unbeatably friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is just right where the Haie fans meet before the game, what more could you want. Simply a MUST before every game but always nice even when there is no ice hockey. Price-performance ratio is TOP, you can eat as much as you want. Coffee, tea and juices are also free. Toilets are super clean! And the children are also catered for with a large play area!

Never again Opening hours on the website are incorrect. We waited for 30 minutes in the rain, with other concert goers, and were not allowed to sit down. Unfriendly staff. There were a lot of seats available, but anyone who didn't want the 45 euro menu had to go back out into the cold and rain.

Mega buffet at brunch and great childcare

Yesterday my wife and I were at the event buffet before the start of an event. I rarely give just one star, but here there was just nothing wrong. Theoretically the buffet would be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. but when we arrived at 5:45 p.m. most of the food had already been eaten. This wasn't refilled until we left at around 6:30 p.m. However, there were still enough starters available. But it wasn't a highlight in terms of taste either. The usual roast with sauce and convenience dumplings. The whole thing was rather lukewarm. There was wine to drink that was reminiscent of a mid-range all-inclusive hotel. The atmosphere was like a large canteen. For over 50 euros per person I would have expected much more.

Went to the event buffet before Night Of the Proms. Not recommended. No atmosphere. Food tasted OK. But buffet completely empty and in disarray. Unfortunately not quality as promised. Service underground, felt like in a canteen. It's a shame, unfortunately it's a shame. We are just disappointed. 😥

It used to be a great address, but now unfortunately it's always something different. Closed, only event buffet or private society. We weren't able to eat here for the last 3 events in the Lanxess Arena.

We were there before an ice hockey game and wanted to eat something, had to order at the table using the app and pay immediately with a card. Drinks were NOT received and FOOD was then canceled but still debited. Once and never again. Now I'm running after my money so I can get it back.

The staff was completely overwhelmed by the number! You had to order at the table, which wasn't a problem, but when the drinks arrived we were more than disappointed. The Lillet tasted like raspberry soda and didn't look like a Lillet

Overall a unique experience. Comparable to a fever dream. As of today there is probably a new GREAT mass processing idea: Find a table, scan the barcode, pay online and off you go. Good plan, poorly implemented. Drinks were brought very close to the guest (or even poured over their clothing); Alster was brought instead of Kölsch as a substitute. Can happen. Instead of french fries sauce there were two portions of mustard with the burger and fries. And the food was easy to eat, you couldn't burn yourself because the food was always cold. You have to give them one good thing: the portions are very large and if you're really hungry and like the market hall atmosphere, you can do that.

What happened here in the Henkelmännchen today on November 22nd, 2024 is an outrage for those parked and the guests. Waiting an hour for food is just too long. What idiot came up with this system and didn't hire twice as many people? And the poor employees have to suffer You really did a bad job there. As of today, you have lost me as a guest

WHAT IS THE NEW “SERVICE”????? Is it actually still possible??? By November 21, 2024, people lined up to get food and received the food they ordered within a few minutes. Wonderful👍 AND NOW??? Some bureaucrat came up with something "GREAT"🤦‍♀️🤦🤦‍♀️🤦 Since November 22nd, 24, you sit down at a table, order your food online and......wait...wait...wait ...wait.SUPER IMPROVEMENT🤪🤪🤪 And immethim 3(!!!) employees bring it the food to the table. PEOPLE, is it still possible??? What previously took a maximum of 10 minutes now takes easily 45 minutes!! The “satisfaction” of the customers will certainly “pay off”🤑🤑

Es war mein 2ter Besuch zum Sonntags-Brunch und ich wurde wieder nicht enttäuscht. Natürlich muss man bedenken, dass dies in der Woche eine Kantine der Stadt Köln ist und somit ist die Größe gewöhnungsbedürftigt. Aber dies wird durch die Vielfalt an Speisen wettgemacht. Ich finde die Auswahl sehr groß und es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Getränke (Filterkaffee und Tee, sowie ein Glas Sekt) sind inbegriffen und nur für Kaffeespezialitöten, Softdrinks und Dom-Kölsch fallen extra Kisten an. Also ich würde auch ein drittes Mal herkommen!

We ate here before an event at the Lanxess Arena. It was perfect for that! Sat here and ate/drinked until shortly before the event started and then just a few steps to the entrance to the arena shortly before it started. We had booked the restaurant visit as an update to the event, so there was a menu and drinks at a fixed price. The tables were assigned and you couldn't choose. We found the food to be delicious without exception, no waiting times at the buffet, even though the restaurant was busy, everything was refilled immediately. The ambience had a bit of a train station feel, which didn't bother us as our table was somewhat sheltered, but we wouldn't have liked sitting at the long rows of tables near the buffet.

We went for brunch on October 27th, 2024, we are almost regular guests. The entire staff is extremely competent, helpful and very friendly. The selection and range of dishes are very large and beautifully presented. Everything is very tasty. We will visit the Henkelmännchen again. Thanks again for the lovely time.

Had a really good time with a wide variety of food for brunch buffet. The food were tasty and you even had free juice and coffee for the 27€.

We were in business here and were served courteously. I found the atmosphere very nice, there is also a children's area for the children. The staff there put a lot of effort into it and were very nice. The brunch menu was perfectly fine and there was also a children's buffet for children. All in all, I thought it was a very nice idea as a gift for Mother's and Father's Day.

Were there for Mother's Day brunch. The employees were nice and friendly. There were enough cold and warm dishes and these were constantly replenished. A small minus point for the juice machine. Unfortunately, in the end it no longer dispensed chilled juices, so we ordered ice cubes from the waiter. There was a play area for our little one that was even supervised. We liked it very much. The reviews from other visitors on the Internet repeatedly emphasize the high quality of the currywurst and the Balkan schnitzel. Guests rave about the spice and taste of these dishes. It seems as if the chefs here have a special knack for hearty dishes. In addition to the food, I would also like to mention the staff. The service lady, who has been working here for over 20 years, is always friendly and courteous. She knows many of the guests personally and manages to make everyone feel welcome. Unfortunately it's no longer the cool brunch we remembered. If meatloaf is served instead of pork medallions, then you already know that something is wrong. The quality and selection of the food is no longer what we were used to. For our family it was always a special highlight to meet at the Henkelmännchen. Also not very hospitable if you have to wait outside until the last minute in sub-zero temperatures instead of being let into the anteroom. No faults with the staff, who are quick and very friendly. There were also no labels on the individual cold meals and desserts.

Wanted something to eat there. I asked before if I could eat at your place? They said yes! Then I chose my dish and ordered a drink. When I had everything I wanted to pay. A waitress said that the buffet was closed. But people still picked up food after me. And they paid and were able to eat without any problems. I have a conscience about it. She insisted that I go. Then I gave her the tray with food and I left. I overheard her walking to a table with the tray and eating my food there. I just find it distasteful how they treat customers there. Should have paid 28.89 euros. That's too expensive. I will never visit this restaurant again. I just felt uncomfortable. Avoid it and it's expensive.

I don't think I've ever eaten such bad convenience food at such an overpriced price. We had booked the event buffet before an event. Save yourself the trash and go somewhere else first. The only bright spot were the ladies who cleared the tables.

We were invited to a really good brunch. Good selection of food and everything was plentiful! The atmosphere resembles that of a canteen, because it probably is one! Drink service good and quick.

I didn't like it that much. The food is good home cooking, I didn't find anything bad but nothing exceptional either. The dining room was too big for me. Way too crowded. The service was good, unfortunately the glasses were touched on the rim with their hands. But I told you straight away. It's great for children as there is a supervised children's corner. Highly recommended for people who like brunch and lots of food, but if you prefer something quieter and more personal it's nothing.

Kann die meisten Kommentare absolut null verstehen. Der eine oder andere sagt es schon richtig, hier wird keine Sterne Küche erwartet, aber dennoch war das Essen klasse. Gleiches ist über das Personal zu sagen, selbstständige Arbeit (zb. ohne das man Mitarbeiter auf leere Teller o.Ä. hinweisen muss) werden abgeräumt, stets am lächeln und SEHR freundlich. Für weitere Wünsche reichte lediglich Augenkontakt mit Kellnern, die sofort auf einen zu kamen. Zusätzliche wünsche wurden über Zeitgemäß, teils binnen von 30 Sekunden zum Tisch gebracht. Alles in allem super gewesen, keiner von uns (4 Personen alle samt mit verschiedenen Geschmäckern) war weniger Zufrieden als ich selbst, kommen definitiv wieder! Nur zu empfehlen. :)

Heute waren wir zum Brunch im Henkelmännchen und wurden richtig enttäuscht Selten solch ein liebloses Buffet gesehen. Es gab kein Brot, nur Brötchen. Der Rest des Frühstücks war in unseren Augen einfach und zum größtenteils vorgefertigte Produkte. Was jedoch vollkommen unterirdisch war, war das warme Essen. Ein Gulasch, der eher einem Hundefutter glich.. als Gemüse gab es nur TK Rosenkohl, der sehr verwässert war. Echt schade, denn der Brunch war echt mal ein Highlight in Köln. Hier muss echt was passieren, wenn man uns als Gast zurückgewinnen möchte.

Fertige Schupfnudeln und Tortellini, fade Sahnesoße, fade Pilzsahnesoße und Schweinesteaks Natur, Wurzelgemüse. Highlights die kleinen Desserts. Wir haben weitaus mehr erwartet- die Gäste am Nebentisch - ebenfalls aus der Gastro stammend- auch. Schade.

Ich entschied mich für das Eventbuffet zum Preis von 38 Euro, das Vorspeisen, Hauptgänge, Desserts und diverse Getränke umfasste. Die Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken war solide und bot eine gute Grundlage für den Abend. Der Service war freundlich und effizient, was angesichts des oft geschäftigen Treibens vor den Events in der Arena besonders positiv auffiel. Insgesamt war mein Besuch im Henkelmännchen eine angenehme Erfahrung. Es ist ein praktischer Ort, um sich vor einer Veranstaltung zu treffen, ohne allzu weit entfernt suchen zu müssen. Wenn Sie nach einer unkomplizierten Möglichkeit suchen, sich auf ein bevorstehendes Event einzustimmen, ist das Henkelmännchen eine gute Option.

Als Frühstücks Buffet zu empfehlen, es gibt sogar eine vegane Ecke...als Brunch mit Mittagessen eher nicht...leider gibt's das wohl nur komplett...da ich eingeladen wurde kenne ich auch die Preise nicht...Granini Saftbar kostenlos...alle anderen Getränke müssen bezahlt werden...beim Kaffee bin ich mir aber nicht sicher...im hinteren Teil gibt es auch eine große Spielecke für Kinder...unterscheidet sich ansonsten nicht von dem Angebot was man bei "all inklusive" aus dem Urlaub kennt; bis auf die Hauptmahlzeit (drei Gerichte zur Wahl), die mir nicht geschmeckt haben. Ist aber wie alles Geschmackssache. Um 14:30 ist dann Schluß mit dem Brunch.

Super für Osterbrunch & Weihnachtsbrunch. Hier gibt es alles was das Herz begehrt und der Gaumen.

Kann man nicht meckern! Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam. Euro 24,90 pro Erwachsener und Euro 15,00 für unsere 14 jährige Tochter für den Sonntagsbrunch waren absolut gerechtfertigt. Essen war gut gewürzt, es gab viel Auswahl, auch veganes bzw vegetarisches. Lediglich etwas wärmer hätten die Hauptgerichte sein können. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Der Sonntagsbrunch ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Bei einem Besuch der Lanxess-Arena kann man sich entscheiden, vorher hier vernünftig was zu essen oder aber in der Hektik drinnen. Wer Sterneküche erwartet ist hier sicher nicht richtig, aber das ist doch auch nicht der Anspruch. Große Portionen und angepasste Preise.

Wir haben gestern dort nur was getrunken um die Wartezeit vorm Konzert etwas zu verkürzen. Die Preise sind ziemlich gesalzen. Und die Einrichtung stellenweise richtig ramponiert das ist sehr schade,den Tische sind mit sehr schönen Blumen dekoriert. Das Personal ist allerdings sehr freundlich das hat mir sehr gut gefallen

Weiberfastnacht. Es war leerer als in früheren Jahren. Dieses Jahr gab es vernünftige Kunststoffgläser. Das Thekenpersonal war leider überfordert. Fachkräftemangel ????

Brunch ungefähr wie in einem Hotel der oberen Mittelklasse. Für das Gebotene teuer.

Im Internet wurde mit der Aussage geworben man könne in die LANXESS Arena schauen was überhaupt nicht stimmt, da das Restaurant in einem komplett anderen Gebäude ist. Unser Konzert (Robbie Williams), begann um 20.00 Uhr, auch hier unterschiedliche Angaben im Internet wegen der Öffnungszeiten, einmal um 17.00 Uhr dann wieder 18.00 Uhr, vor Ort wurde dann 18.15 Uhr gesagt und 18.30 wurde dann geöffnet. Das Essen war gut, gut das es Buffet war denn die Bedingungen waren mit den Getränken überfordert. Geschmacklich und Auswahl war okay. Aber als Event Buffet darf man sich hier nicht bezeichnen da ihr mit der LANXESS Arena nichts zu tun habt.

Der Frühstücksbrunch war für 24,50 Euro ok, aber nicht überragend; was aber ein absolutes no go war: im Preis war kein Wasser enthalten. Es gab Kaffee, süße Säfte und zu Beginn ein kleines Gläschen einfachen Sekt. In Frankreich wird zu jedem Essen oder auch nur wenn man ein Kaffee trinkt, immer eine gratis Karaffe gereicht- hierzu sollte man sich mal Gedanken machen.
