Great farewell meal before departure from Weeze. We are “repeat offenders” and we like to go here when the schedule suits us. Everything is at a high level and consistently in its own ranking. Friendly and professional service, the seasonally updated menu, the cozy atmosphere and the timely catering are appropriate. You can't even complain about the price. In short: we recommend testing it yourself and having a nice break!

Went there today with a relatively large group. The service was very good, the food was great and came together almost perfectly. The prices are a little higher but the quality of the ingredients is really top notch! 😊

A TOP address for what is called home-style cuisine: e.g. boiled beef, roulades, gourmet schnitzel, kale (seasonal). Everything was delicious and prepared to perfection. The service is quick and unobtrusively friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant. Reservations are recommended on weekends.

It was once again an experience to eat there. The staff is incredibly nice and so is the small one. Bread portion with goose fat and fresh cheese were great. Well-kept atmosphere. Very tasteful food. Fine address in the pilgrimage site Kevelaer on the Lower Rhine.

The schnitzel was very dry and seemed to have been breaded several times before it went into the pan. The fries and salad were tasty and plentiful. A quickly brought chair was probably more of an emergency solution than a comfortable place to sit. Overall, the price here was significantly too high. Conclusion: despite the positive points - I don't need it anymore!

Incredibly ignorant and unfriendly service forced our entire group to leave the restaurant because we didn't want to be spoken to like that. The man spoke in a commanding tone and disparagingly. We immediately got up and left.

Sehr gute und solide bürgerliche Küche zu moderaten Preisen. Sehr freundliche und nette sowie aufmerksame Bedienung. Schöne und erneuerte Einrichtung mit einem deutlichen Plus: Gut gelegener Biergarten, ruhig. Die unterschiedlichen Hauptspeisen kamen gleichzeitig an den Tisch(!), findet man auch nicht oft. Leckere Desserts.

The Golden Swan has recently been renovated and shines in new splendor. I think it is now clearly the first house on the site. But what is really a joy is the food and the friendly and competent service as well as the young host family. We ate asparagus. And it was really prepared first-class. Really good. The light was perhaps a bit bright - but better than too dark. Good luck and God bless everyone who floats the Golden Swan!

2 hours. Reserved spontaneously beforehand with 15 people without any problems. The ambience is first-class, the service is second to none, absolutely accommodating, responds to all kinds of requests and is super friendly. The food is unique and absolutely perfect. The food came to everyone almost simultaneously and at a top speed from the service staff. All in all, a real insider tip.

Unfortunately, single people are not welcome in this restaurant. It's not called a "family restaurant" for nothing. The quality of the food is good, but as a single guest you are ignored for half an hour until a server comes and then you have to wait another half hour until the food is served to you. And only after remembering again. By then, you've already lost your appetite because of the irritation at the disrespectful treatment. You should not expect a gesture of compensation, for example in the form of a drink or a small dessert on the house. The staff also doesn't admit any mistakes. Despite witnesses at the neighboring table who noticed the long waiting time, it is also claimed that the waiting time only seemed so long to the guest and was actually shorter. I can still read the clock though. This was a decidedly clumsy and unprofessional reaction from the female waitress. To put it bluntly, this is a method of so-called gaslighting. My recommendation to the owner: put up signs from the outset that say "individual guests not allowed" so that only couples, groups and families visit the hospitable place. Or train your staff to treat individual guests with the same attention as couples and groups, even if you think you can earn more from the latter.

We were there for lunch with a total of 8 people and were very satisfied. Whether schnitzel, salmon or boiled beef, everything is very tasty and plentiful. We were also impressed by the soups for starters. Only the sweet potato with spinach wasn't that well received for the price. Otherwise everything was great, especially the service staff! Super friendly, quick and special requests were implemented without any problems. We'd love to come back!

Super cozy beer garden. Very good cuisine and nice staff. Bowling alley and large guest room with a very cozy atmosphere. Anyone who comes to Kevelaer should definitely stop here.

Great ambience and delicious food

Just don't go there. Too expensive for the service and the food. Service is terrible, I've never experienced anything like that. First, the fries were missing with my dish, and there was no longer any service staff near the table, so I could have complained promptly, so I had to eat my schnitzel without a side dish so that it didn't get cold. And when someone finally decided to serve us again (about 30 minutes later) and we complained, they said that the chip key (which had been placed between two other guests at our table) was for everyone involved and that I should go first Eat the fries (which are still around 10 cold) before fresh ones are delivered. Sorry guys, for over 20 euros per person, I expect a full meal and not just a schnitzel and the leftovers from others at the table. For 5 adults who ordered a dish with fries, only 2 small bowls, even the children had more fries on their children's plates (why did they actually have the fries directly on the plate and not a bowl too????? ). And then the subterranean reaction to the complaint that I should eat the cold fries first and get in touch earlier (which, by the way, I would have liked to have done if you hadn't been hiding), thank you, I'm more than served. You've lost me as a customer and I can't in good conscience recommend anyone to eat here, even though the food is actually good if you get everything you order........ My opinion, if after a meal worth over 20 euros in a home-style restaurant you then have to go to the nearest chip shop because you're feeling under the weather, then it's better to save your money for the restaurant.......

This visit will be remembered. We unexpectedly ended up in the Golden Swan because we were attending the induction of the new pastors in Kevelaer. The menu reads coherently and offers a logical and unobtrusive look at vegetarian dishes. The offer leaves nothing to be desired. From classics (schnitzel) to unusual ones (lentil curry). I would particularly like to highlight the service from all the employees, which we enjoyed during this visit. is. Teamwork is noticeable here. At the table it is immediately clear to those serving what needs to be put where. A friendly question or hint is always ready. We'd love to come back.

Ein wirklich solides und bodenständiges Restaurant das man getrost und im besten Sinne gut bürgerlich bezeichnen darf. Freundliches Personal, leckeres Essen, gutes Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. Es wird gekocht wie in der ländlich geprägten Region üblich, nahrhaft, herzhaft.

Sehr leckeres Essen welches von der jederzeit freundliche Bedienung in einer sehr angemessen Wartezeit serviert wurde. Hier gab es absolut nichts zu meckern und wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Jedesmal wenn ich in Kevelaer bin. Ein Muss Tafelspitz im Goldener Schwan von Clemens der Chefkoch des Hauses.

Wir kommen schon seit Jahren in absoluter Regelmäßigkeit extra aus Duisburg. Da es immer gut besucht ist, empfiehlt sich eine Tischreservierung. Wir sind bis jetzt jedes Mal begeistert wieder nach Hause gefahren. Jedes Gericht war bisher super lecker. Auch Extrawünsche wurden immer möglich gemacht. Das Personal ist einfach super nett und man fühlt sich immer willkommen. Man bekommt hier wirklich sehr leckeres Essen von guter Qualität zu absolut fairen Preisen. Ich denke auf der Karte ist für jeden etwas dabei (für den kleinen oder großen Hunger, Fleischesser oder Vegetariar) Das Restaurant wurde vor nicht all zu langer Zeit renoviert und etwas moderner gestaltet. Wir haben uns aber auch schon vorher immer sehr wohl gefühlt. Kann hier wirklich absolut bedingungslos eine Empfehlung aussprechen.

Unscheinbares Restaurant von außen mit sehr gutem Essen. Von der Fußgängerzone aus sieht es klein und düster aus, was jedoch überhaupt nicht der Wahrheit entspricht. Das Restaurant ist sehr modern und hell innen eingerichtet. Nach hinten raus sogar mit einem großen Biergarten mit vielen schattigen Plätzen. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Hier schmeckt man noch die handgemachte Jägersoße, die Salate sind lecker und auch die Schnitzel. Die Gerichte sind im Durchschnitt vielleicht 2€ teurer, es schmeckt aber auch echt gut.

Es stimmte einfach alles. Vom hervorragenden Service über ein leckeres Essen bis zum angenehmen Ambiente. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Mitten im wunderschönen Örtchen Kaevelar. Super Service und ein Ambiente indem Tradition und Moderne harmonisch vereint sind. Es ist für alle etwas dabei: von Hirschgulasch, oder dem klassischen Schlemmerschnitzel bis hin zu einer wirklich guten Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten. Der Biergarten mit Blick auf den Kirchturm sah auch toll aus. Wir kommen im Sommer bestimmt wieder!

Heerlijk gegeten met zeer goede bediening Wij waren met 4 personen die allemaal iets anders namen (ik had het grill gerecht). Alle personen waren het erover eens dat het eten uitstekend was. De bediening was zeer attent en behulpzaam Ik zou er zeker weer gaan eten

Schönes Restaurant mit guter überwiegend deutscher Küche. Aufmerksames und freundliches Personal. Mein Dry Age Kotelett an Portweinsauce mit feinem Wirsinggemüse und Kartoffelgratin hat mir ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Die Kombination eines Espressos mit einer kleinen süßen Dessertüberraschung zu einem wirklich fairen Preis war ein gelungener Abschluss.

Lunches in Germany is very satisfactory. This restaurant is no exception! Great big portion of snitzel including salads combine with German beer. Perfect combination! The interior inside is more like a hospital canteen. On the contrary the garden is very cozy and inviting. Dog friendly, good service too. They provide a pair of scissors to open the mayonaise :) how thoughtfull!!!! Everything is okay...but i do think they need to put some new sun umbrella ☺️

Sehr leckeres Essen. Die Karte ist überschaubar aber ich denke jeder Geschmack wird bedient. Erwähnenswert ist definitiv die größere Auswahl an vegetarischen Speisen. Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe dort essen und alle waren sehr zufrieden. Der Service ist top und sehr freundlich!

Es war sehr lecker. Toller Service. Ambiente einfach gut. Waren mit einer grossen Gruppe da. Alles war sehr lecker. Keiner hatte etwas zu beanstanden. Wir können das Restaurant "Goldener Schwan" nur weiterempfehlen.

Bedienung freundlich, schöner Biergarten und super Bratkartoffeln. Aber die Championrahmsauce bestand fast ausschließlich aus Maltodextrin (Saucenbinder), schäumte und schmeckte nach nichts. Eigentlich ne Unverschämtheit für knapp 20€. Werde diese Bewertung bei meinem nächsten Besuch noch mal bearbeiten...

Sat outside and had a lovely meal. my wife and I had Schweinescnitzen Champignon and the children settled for chicken nuggets and chips! All plates cleared, 2 Pils, 2 Radlers, 2 Orange juice, 4 colas and Peach schnapps to finish and the bill was 88 Euro. The waitress was very helpful, there was no English menu but she took the time to translate for us.

Am Essen lässt sich wirklich viel dran meckern, normale Hausmannskost! Gut gekocht, jedoch auch nichts Neues! Der Service jedoch muss noch deutlich verbessert werden! Flaschen werden nicht eingeschüttet, auf Extrawünsche wird nicht eingegangen. Wir werden es auf jeden Fall nochmal probieren.

Das Restaurant ist viel größer als es von außen den Anschein erweckt. Gute deutsche Küche zu moderaten Preisen. Freundlicher Service und für den Sommer ein Biergarten den man von außen nicht sieht. Das Gesamtpaket ist sehr gut, Speisen soweit OK.

Waren mit zwei Erwachsenen, einem Kind und einem Hund dort. Das Lokal liegt in der Fußgängerzone. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen kam schnell und war lecker. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich. Es gibt nicht zu beanstanden.

In verband met een verjaardag in dit restaurant met familie gegeten. Aangenaam restaurant met vriendelijke bediening, uitgebreide kaart en gerechten van goede kwaliteit. De Schlemmerschnitzel is echt geweldig. Klassieke Duits restaurant, zeker een aanrader. We hadden een hond mee en er werd onmiddelijk een bakje water voor hem gebracht.

Das Restaurant ist frisch renoviert worden und hat ein tolles Ambiente zwischen urig und modern. Der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend und das Essen war wirklich lecker! Man bekommt gute Deutsche Hausmannskost, die aber einen modernen/frischen Touch hat. Auch Vegetarier und Veganer kommen auf ihre Kosten. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

This place had a very nice service which were patient and attentive. It is half of the restaurant to have good employees. The place filled up quickly and had good hearthy german food. A splendid choice. We were happy we did not go to Hollandia, which had a bad atmosphere and not so nice service at all. Good good choice!

Wir sind auf dem Weg zum Flughafen Weeze mal wieder hier eingekehrt um in diesem wirklich authentischen, gut bürgerlichen Restaurant zu speisen. Schon die Rinderkraftbrühe vorweg war super, die Hauptspeisen großartig und der nicht auf der Karte steihende Kaiserschmarrn der krönende Abschluß. Also wer hier sich nicht wohlfühlen kann, der geht auch zum Lachen in den Keller und hat hier auch nichts zu suchen. Eigentlich nicht überraschend, der Service ist an Freundlichkeit und Professionalität nicht zu überbieten. Super empfehlenswert!!!
