A really great enjoyment experience! Very good service and an exceptional menu. Mom's/Grandma's food is not forgotten here. Definitely order dessert. Absolutely recommended.

Very good food, nice service from a Polish-speaking waitress. In my opinion, the prices are adequate to the taste and size of the dish.

The service staff could be more attentive. I tried to order something several times, but the young ladies aren't attentive enough and don't look around well enough when they're standing in the door, even though they're waving their hands to draw attention to themselves. It's a shame, otherwise everything is fine as always with Alt Derp.

Very high-priced gastronomy, but quality is good, the most expensive kale we have ever eaten. It was unbearable that despite the extensive drinking, it was not possible to get a small glass of tap water to swallow a tablet in addition to the final espresso. A disgrace for such a place.

We were there for dinner today and I have to honestly say I can't remember the last time I had such great food and the whole thing was served in a nice and courteous manner. So this is an absolute insider tip. Everything was really excellent 👍👍👍

We were barely sitting, there were four of us there, when everyone was attacked with three menus and a litany of drinks etc. was rattled off (there's no other way to describe it). It was easy to feel overwhelmed and not be able to take in the ambience etc. That's a point deduction and that the side dishes weren't really hot, and some of the two gentlemen had too thick a breading on the schnitzel and it wasn't quite hot.

There were two of us in Alt Derp. The service was super friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty.

Beautiful old house that was lovingly run by Mr. Stassen many years ago. That's why the people of Kevela still say today "let's go to Stassen". The middle-class kitchen and the pub had to give way and even the simple Kevela residents are no longer really welcome there. Wanted to dine there with a friend and entered the restaurant. My friend immediately went to the toilet after choosing a seat. I ordered 2 drinks from the waiter in advance because the choice of food had not yet been made. I was immediately told by the waiter that this was not a pub and that I should order the food immediately. I said no because my friend was in the toilet and (of course) I didn't want to/couldn't order for him. The waiter came back 2 minutes later and repeated his request for an immediate order ("we're not a pub here"). After my friend returned from the toilet and I explained this incident to him, we left the restaurant. We definitely won't be coming back. We ended up having a very good steak at a better price elsewhere. An impossible behavior on the part of the waiter, but I assume that he was "trained" to do this by the owner.

We went on a bike tour to Kevelaer and had reserved tables at this restaurant. We all agreed that we ate really well.

We were there last night. I had an undefined piece on my cheeseburger. Looked like fries that had already been in the hairdresser three times. When I asked what it was I was told it was onions. So that was all but no onions. Very unfortunate and not professional. The burger patti was much too thick, the fries were too crispy (they had probably been in the hairdresser too long. The staff was very friendly.

The location is beautiful. We sat outside so we didn't get a very detailed look at the inside, but it all looked well cared for. We were helped quickly even though it was quite busy and the food was delicious! Didn't use the hotel/rooms so I can't say anything about that. I would definitely come back here again.

Wij komen al jaren bij Alt Derp in Kevelaer. Nu waren de menukaarten met de handgeschreven en de prijzen dusdanig aangepast dat het niet meer leuk is om hier een normaal (Duits)gerecht van de kaart te nemen. De andere menukaart, menukaart met de steaks, te extreem hoog voor een dorp zoals Kevelaer. Ambiente, bediening en sfeer hiervoor te eenvoudig. Dit zijn prijzen voor een restaurant in Düsseldorf Königsallee. Wij zijn daarom maar voor het goedkoopste gerecht gegaan, extra om dit dan eens uit te proberen, 17,50 euro voor een (dunne) curryworst met frietjes, deze worst was OK. Ons even niet meer gezien!

I ordered a Cordon Bleu for €28.90. I asked for some mayonnaise for the accompanying fries. When this was added to the bill at €1.00, I felt a bit ripped off. Not a nice experience 😡

It's very clean there, everyone is friendly, the food is very tasty and freshly prepared. We have been guests there several times and are always happy to come back. Our group travels from East Frisia and Belgium. The journey is always worth it.

Also das Essen, sowie die "kleine" Aufmerksamkeit der Küche, eine himmliche Kartoffelsuppe, waren ausgezeichnet, DOCH der Service/das aufmerksame, gut gelaunte und freundliche Personal waren phänomenal. Nicht nur, dass unserem Sohn etwas zu malen gebracht wurde, damit die Wartezeit kurzweilig gestaltet werden kann, sondern es wurde so oft nach unserem Befinden gefragt, dass wir schon fürchteten, das Restaurant würde bald schließen. I've known this restaurant since the 70s and have always eaten well there. This time I didn't like it. Fillet strips in sauce, “de Paris”. The strips were fried too long and therefore hard, the sauce seemed very greasy to me and the cream on top was unnecessary. The Rösti (like ready-made products) were also too greasy from the deep fryer, unfortunately not to my taste.

Rustic restaurant with very good, down-to-earth German cuisine. The staff is very friendly, the food came to our table without a long wait, even though we were a group of 11 people. The Alt Derp is very centrally located and offers plenty of parking options in the immediate vicinity. The furnishings are rustic and at first glance have a nice atmosphere that invites you to linger. The service was attentive and friendly. You felt very well taken care of. The kitchen is known for its steaks and so it was clear what we wanted to eat. The fillet piece was very good, but the rump steak was unfortunately a little tough. The dessert was a delicious highlight at the end. Let's be honest - we were actually full, but the small appetizer from the expresso made us want to try the desert after all. All in all, a worthwhile visit.

Booked for 3pm as it can get busy I would recommend booking in advance on a Saturday evening,Food was amazing as always and the chef came out to chat I would recommend also downloading German translation app on your phone as no internet is available.The pork was perfectly cooked and the noodles were actually tagliatelle but still very good.The crème brûlée was amazing 10/10

Asked for a burger medium rare, got it well done and dry like Sahara desert. When asked to change they said not possible, when I asked why it's not medium rare they just kept saying you cannot make dry aged beef medium rare, honestly get some skills. Steak was good.

Zufällig standen wir hungrig vor dem "Alt Derp". Nach kurzem Online-Check sind wir (zum Glück) hinein und nach etwas mehr als einer Stunde begeistert wieder heraus gekommen. Neben den hochwertigen Steakspezialitäten gab es regionale und saisonale Spezialitäten. Alles war liebevoll angerichtet und einfach lecker. Dazu genossen wir einen sehr aufmerksamen, freundlichen und kompetenten Service sowie eine tolle Atmosphäre. Essen und Getränke waren sehr schnell am Tisch und das alles auch noch für einen angemessenen Preis. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe (18 Personen) zum Essen zu Gast. Unsere Tische waren sehr geschmackvoll eingedeckt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und nett, aufmerksam aber nicht aufdringlich. Die bestellten Getränke waren für alle schnell auf dem Tisch. Obwohl wir in der Gruppe a la Carte bestellten, kamen alle Gerichte in angemessener Zeit auf den Tisch. Die Speisen waren von hervorragender Qualität. Geschmacklich war es ein Genuss. Dieses Lokal ist auf jeden Fall zu Empfehlen.

Es war ein toller Abend. Vom Service bis zum Essen alles perfekt.

Die Pommes frites hatten das Wort „frites“ wirklich verdient, was in der Gastronomie nicht so oft vorkommt (Fett 170 Grad). Der Gruß aus der Küche ebenso phantastisch. Atmosphäre des Restaurants absolut top. Fazit: Ein gastronomischer Sternenblick !
