In cold and wind the right escape to the Italian haut cusine, the service charges 6 ⭐, absolutely warm, humorous and polite.

We went here this evening to have dinner with friends (5 people in total). The waitress told us that we could only sit at the table directly in front of the kitchen since there were five of us. Since the table was right in front of the kitchen, we didn't want to sit there and asked if we could sit somewhere else. Unfortunately the answer wasn't particularly polite, but rather a resounding “no”. We understand that there may not be suitable tables, but the answer could have been worded more kindly and politely. After all, politeness costs nothing. We probably won't come again.

Grialdi completely convinced me! The linguine con cozze was to die for – perfectly al dente, with fresh mussels and a wonderfully spicy sauce. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, the service friendly and attentive. Here you can feel the passion for Italian cuisine. I'll definitely be back!

We were there for dinner this evening. The waiter greeted us very friendly, but his unfunny jokes were quite unpleasant. We then went to order pretty quickly, we ordered two Pilsners - here's another pretty unpleasant "joke" that wasn't funny. When these came and they simply tasted old, we kindly pointed this out to the waiter, but we were made to look unbelievable and laughed at a bit and said he couldn't exchange them. - well now! When our ordered tortellini arrived I asked if I could please have a little more parmesan, he again with an undertone that there was already parmesan on my food! (Unfortunately you had to look for it) I kindly insisted on having something extra. He stood provocatively next to me with a bowl of parmesan in his hand and asked where he should put it on it... I asked him to please do it himself, he said no?! The reason he is not allowed to give the guests the Parmesan??! Sorry, but I would be very interested to hear this explanation from the head of the house. This service person has definitely missed the job, but these unnecessary discussions are completely out of place and simply annoy the guest. It's a shame because the food was delicious. But we will not enter this restaurant again.

We stopped there spontaneously for lunch. The service seemed very cold at first, but quickly thawed out. The interior seems nice at first glance, but is very dark. There are carpets on the floor that cover loose stones, which you can feel when walking over them. But I also found the carpets to be a tripping hazard. Right at the beginning they said that you could only accept cash payment, that wasn't a problem for us. The tablecloth was dirty, there were crumbs everywhere. Apparently there was no change here after the last guests and we came straight to the restaurant opening. We received a small greeting from the kitchen, but the taste was very bland and the bread was very hard. Our salad came quite quickly and tasted good too. However, we had to wait a very long time for our pizza, about an hour, and there were two other people in the restaurant with us at that time. The pizza is quite large, but you can see that it is baked on a tray and unfortunately you can taste it too. The dough was cakey and dry, the topping tasted strange to me, and the cheese was overly salty. Unfortunately, not an Italian pizza like I have before. Also worth mentioning. If you order a large drink here, you get a 0.3l glass. If we had read the reviews beforehand we would have gone further.

A little out of the way, it's nicely located in the backyard of the pedestrian zone. The service - arrogant and snooty, the waiting time for food and drinks is miserably long (1 hour...) the food mostly consists of convenience food, the prices for it are overpriced.

We went to this pizzeria twice during our vacation. The first time we were very disappointed with another pizzeria in Heidelberg and since my husband was still hungry, we went there. He had spaghetti garlic/olives. A salad first. The salad is fresh, crunchy and with a delicious salad dressing. The spaghetti with lots of garlic and olive oil. Extra spicy upon request. That's what they were like! The second time we were there was to end our wedding day. Both times we had a very friendly and cheerful waitress who cared about the job! This time I had pizza 4 stagioni and my husband had lasagna, followed by a salad. Both dishes were very tasty! This is how pizza should be! Crunchy base, but not hard. Sauce seasoned and the toppings fresh and very tasty. The lasagna was hot and very tasty! Even though the restaurant was very busy, we didn't have to wait too long! I deducted a star for the ambience; cultures collide there, which makes everything a bit uneasy. The wood is very dark. Please also pay attention to the hidden corners. Chandeliers, window sills and radiator panel very dusty and full of cobwebs. Thanks to the waitress who served us as if we were at her home!!! If we are in Heidelberg again, we will come back!

I can only agree with the negative reviews. Nice outdoor area, service took a long time as did the drinks. I can't say anything about the food as it never arrived. If I had read the reviews beforehand, I would never have gone to this restaurant.

Since my wife has a dog allergy and a group with a dog sat right next to us, we wanted to go and have the drinks we had. Of course I wanted to pay for the food we had ordered wasn't there yet, but the boss wanted us to eat it I also had no idea how to pay because it hadn't been served yet. They wanted to give us another table that was right next door - that wouldn't have helped. The boss was extremely unfriendly because he couldn't get rid of his food. He asked us not to come back and we would never enter again without being asked. Of course we paid for our drinks. Apparently dogs are more valued there than guests and there is no understanding for my wife's allergies. Enter once and never again

We were in Heidelberg today and stopped at the restaurant. The service (one waiter and one waitress) were very friendly and took appropriate care of us. It's certainly not their fault that it was very full and that there were only two people serving. We got a starter from the house, which tasted very good, and the pizza was also very good. Unfortunately the lasagna wasn't to my taste, the noodles were too soft for me. However, since I hadn't finished eating, I was given the price, which I didn't want to do because I had seen how much there was to do with the small cast. Spaghetti was OK, just a little underseasoned. Overall, a nice stay in a beautiful city.

We were just there and wanted to have a nice drink. We were greeted very disparagingly. Meanwhile, the other tables around us who have ordered something to eat enjoy the best and friendliest service from the same waiter. Every now and then people would ask if everything was OK and if there was anything else they wanted, other than with us. It's actually a shame about the beautiful location. As is often the case when you walk along the pedestrian zone, you find a rather inconspicuous sign in front of a gate that leads to the Electoral Palatinate Museum. You come to a spacious, green, park-like courtyard, away from the hustle and bustle of the street. Very nice staff and good cuisine.

I spontaneously went to this restaurant with my wife and child on Friday afternoon. We wanted to have a leisurely lunch "away" from the busy pedestrian zone and just tried it out here. We immediately liked the outdoor ambience. What can you say? It was busy and we were lucky to get a free table for three people. The food was really EXCELLENT!!! Our order of pizza, salad and schnitzel was served in a reasonable time and we enjoyed it very much. The portion size was really good. We were more than full. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine! I can warmly recommend this restaurant!

Pizza and Vongole Pasta are seasoned just right for Korean tastes. It's better than schnitzel.

The pizza margherita is not a pizza margherita and completely tasteless. Lasagne is too big and tasteless. When I didn't want to give a tip, waiter wanted more explanation after I already told him that the food was just not good. Don't be fooled by the beautiful terrace, better avoid this place.

As residents of this city or old town, the garden area of ​​the "Garibaldi" was always a pleasant place for us to have a coffee or cake. That is a thing of the past today. The cafe/restaurant opens at 11.30am. We sat down under one of the umbrellas set up at 11:45 a.m., expecting to be asked what we wanted. Although the Signore Cameriere was present within sight, he preferred to converse with two gentlemen. I went and asked if it was open or if there was no staff available. A little later he stood at our table and explained to us that we couldn't actually order coffee at that time because it was a restaurant here. (We were the only guests until then). For once we received our drinks. I won't reproduce the discussion and theatrics here. That was a NO GO, and in a week in which the German Tourism Association is calling for more hospitality. (Smile) Maybe Garibaldi is too full due to the huge amount of walk-in customers? Luckily, as Heidelbergers we find plenty of other places.

In addition to repeated rudeness and a double mistake in ordering, we also got an upset stomach from the seafood salad. The salad was not natural. And from canned food. The toilet is very dirty. Only the garden is good.

The atmosphere was really nice, but you had to wait ages for the food and drinks. It was very busy but you also had the impression that the waiters were rather busy with themselves. We didn't finish the food because the pizza was like frozen.

Deplorable welcome and service. When the waitress finally deigned to come see us, there were 5 of us with 3 children, she put us at a table of 4 plus a chair even though there were tables of 6 free and the place was not full. We are waiting for the menus which do not come. She puts the cutlery back on another table close to us and still doesn't bring us the menus. And on the other hand, other people who arrived after us have the menus and this idiot takes their orders. We got up and left. When I see the other negative reviews, I can only congratulate myself on not having stayed. We were better received in a less pretentious pizzeria with much better service. I rarely get up to leave, but now it was no longer possible.

Great food, great service and nice ambience.

If the food was made by a 14-years old cook, that would be excellent. The pasta was al dente, but the sauce was overcooked and the ingredients poorly chosen. The waiter was incredibly rude for no reason at all (he was nicer with locals it seems) and it was impossible to drink or eat there without a swarm of wasps and flies with it. They take advantage of the fact that non-locals are attracted by the quiet, cosy location of the restaurant... well, forewarned is forearmed.

My wife had a side salad with her main course. How the salad dressing was prepared is a mystery to me. The salad really didn't taste like anything. The dressing made the pure salad worse. Some side salads were returned to the neighboring tables. The main courses were quite ok. My wheat was warm. Ambience really great.

We went inside and immediately received angry looks from the employees. They didn't help us with a table, we had to make our own plans. We had found a seat, waited about 15 minutes until they brought the menu and then another 10 minutes before they came to write down everything. We had to wait half an hour for our drinks. And it took us about an hour to eat our food. For that money you can find better and tasty restaurants. My lasagna just tasted like the store-bought one. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!! The staff is also unfriendly

Good food but too much waiting time...

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my girlfriend. Although the courtyard is very nice, we were still disappointed. For one thing, the wait for a pizza margarita and a portion of pasta was almost an hour, even though it wasn't too busy. The pizza was ok, unfortunately the pasta wasn't. Described as tagliatelle with chanterelles, shrimp and tomatoes, we ordered this dish, which costs €19.90, with great confidence. However, there was no sauce with the tagliatelle and they were also very oily. When I asked for a sauce, the waiter immediately refused. Rather unacceptable for the price, therefore only 2 stars.

Restaurant located in the courtyard with a bubbling fountain. We sat outside as the weather was fantastic. The restaurant was very busy and when we ordered we were told that food would be served in an hour. The dishes were well prepared, but the pasta dishes were bland in taste. The service was stressed but still friendly. Please pay more attention to the toilets, they were very dirty.

Spontaneous visit to the restaurant, hadn't looked at the reviews beforehand for a long time and just walked in as I walked past. When we arrived in the courtyard, the first waiter came towards us stressed with two plates in his arms and just called out to us: "UP!" ....he probably meant that we should kindly choose a free table in the upper area on our own ;-) After we changed seats again to sit closer to the rancid fountain, we ordered drinks and food straight away. The drinks came after about 20 minutes (no problem at 30°C :-)) The drinks were drunk after a short time and you constantly walked past the empty glasses without offering anything else. It would certainly have made our wait for the food of around 1 hour easier... Unfortunately, with the food (the friendly waitress gave us at least a brief update that it was almost ready) came the disillusionment. The pasta was completely overcooked and absolutely bland. Even a lot of salt didn't make it any better. Cooked carelessly. The Margherita pizza was okay. I complained about the pasta and it wasn't charged for either. All in all, an unfortunately very bad visit to the restaurant. Next time we'll look for reviews again, unfortunately anything else is a waste of money and time.

Very happy with our dinner I had: Insalata Garibaldi for 17.90 euros and my partner chose: Fritelle alla Erbe from Chiodini for 16.90 euros, absolutely great. The service was also great! We recommend.

The pizza dough wasn't really my thing and the toppings could have been more, at least the ham.

My son got his spaghetti Bolognese quickly, unfortunately that was the only thing that was served quickly. The pasta wasn't served to my wife and me as quickly, but to the people sitting next to me it was the same as it was to us. The waiter said after we spoke to him that it would take five more minutes and even then they couldn't do it. We had to wait over an hour for our food. The food was delicious but not too delicious. The ambience is very nice, it even has a fountain, the toilets weren't nice and smelled. I write that for myself, my family and my very friendly table neighbors.

Although we received a very friendly welcome, we quickly noticed the tense atmosphere between the waiters, which worsened as the evening progressed and gave us as guests a very unpleasant feeling. The beautiful location in the garden of the Kurpfälzisches Museum is the only thing we really liked here. There were problems at every table around us, which were caused by the waiters and which we also experienced. Be it problems with payment (note: apparently no card payment is possible and you have to follow the waiter to a nearby bank), there were problems with taking the order (long waiting time, entire table orders were mixed up) and as soon as the money came up the waiters unfriendly and greedy. After all, we didn't get a bill and apparently "fees" are charged per person. There is no prior notice of this. To eat: We had pizza and lasagne. The pizza was very dry and the base was way too hard. In terms of taste, it's below average. The price is definitely too high. Not worthy of an Italian. The lasagna was OK, but not particularly flavorful. Bottom line, not really good food. We felt quite uncomfortable right from the start, and this feeling grew stronger as the evening went on. You can really take the bad reviews here seriously, not worth a visit.

Hmm, what can you say... there are better restaurants, certainly in Heidelberg too. The location in the small park is really great, the waiting time for drinks is a bit borderline, waiting for the food was ok, the pizza was good. My request for payment was quickly met, but without an invoice. I was quoted an amount which I paid. It was only when I asked that I received an invoice, which was actually less than the amount I paid 🤔 It's a shame that they don't calculate correctly or is this an "intentional" scam.....?

We had lunch at the Garibaldi restaurant in Heidelberg this afternoon. Very nice garden, good food... Guests at the neighboring table complained (a hair??) - but the plate was actually almost empty! The service staff reacted quickly and friendly and also gave in to the guest's request that the whole meal not have to be paid for, "of course it will be canceled". We would love to eat there again!

The inner courtyard of the museum is a bit old but still invites you to linger. But not the restaurant. Since the staff obviously has no interest in the guests staying, I can't comment on the food. We received such an unfriendly welcome that we decided not to look elsewhere. Definitely not a recommendation in Heidelberg!
