Da Baggio in Heidelberg

The service was very nice. Unfortunately the food was inedible. Our appetizer platter was sparse and the catpaccion was brown in color instead of red. Something like that doesn't belong on any table. The lasagna with wild boar was ok. The salad is also inedible. A bunch of lettuce leaves that looked completely stale and the avocado was also not edible. In the reservation platform I was shown a great picture of a table by the window with a great view. I paid 12 euros for this. But the restaurant only has a view of the tram. I call this a rip-off and should be removed from the reservation platform immediately. Either you have a great view and offer something like that, or you don't. Just not worth the money.

Location and service are very good. The drinks were great. Unfortunately the food was too spicy. We were compensated with a drink. That was very nice.

Very good food and extremely friendly staff. Until the moment the manager entered the restaurant. You noticed the tension immediately. What I personally found completely wrong was that he loudly criticized his staff in the presence of the guests for everything they supposedly hadn't done. Hence the points deduction for service. From my point of view, his appearance was just embarrassing.

After 40 minutes of drinks, after over 2.5 hours still no food. Everything was registered and reserved in advance.

Always delicious, even if the prices are slightly above average. The dishes on the daily menu are often very creative and quite reasonably priced. The pizzas are delicious and with fresh mushrooms, the pasta dishes are not the standard ones such as cream / peas / ham but also sometimes with chard or fresh truffles (if desired with an additional charge). I can only recommend it. The service is really friendly and accommodating. Card payment is possible, parking spaces are in short supply in the western part of the city or if you have the courage to leave a gap, there are parking spaces for residents (you get the idea). Alternatively, you just walk a few meters (parking spaces at the district court or something like that). One of my top recommendations in Heidelberg.

Lecker, aber zu kleine Portionen. Wir hatten die Pasta aus dem Parmesanleib mit Trüffel. Die Nudelmenge ist recht klein. Meine Söhne wären nicht satt geworden, wären sie dabei gewesen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung.

Das Essen und die Getränke waren sehr gut, sowohl in der Beschreibung, der Präsentation als auch im olfaktorischen Erleben, d.h., es hat sehr gut geschmeckt und gemundet. We have been coming to Heidelberg once a year with a larger group for several years. There is no alternative for us! We always go to Da Baggio for dinner. No matter how large our group is (approx. 40 people), we are always warmly welcomed. The service is great - never overwhelmed, we never have to wait long. The food is super delicious! Absolute recommendation!!!!!

Es war ein schönes Mittagessen mit 2 lieben Freundinnen ! Es war alles lecker ! Leider war der Espresso nicht italienisch, lauwarm , kein Geschmack und leider keine Crema. Service sehr zuvorkommend und flexibel ! Die Gemütlichkeit hat uns dazu bewogen eine 2.Flasche Wein zu bestellen.

Zum Sylvester-Essen in einer größeren Gruppe mit Freunden und Kindern mit Reservierung zu Gast in diesem netten italienischen Restaurant gewesen. Essen kam schnell, die im Rahmen des Sylvestermenüs angebotenen Speisen waren durchweg sehr gut. Schön angerichtet und preislich im Rahmen. Die Bedienung fix und gut gelaunt, die Nachfrage ob es für die jüngeren Erwachsenen eine Möglichkeit gibt eine Pizza zu bekommen wurde nach kurzer Rücksprache bejaht. Uns hat es Gefallen!

Best tagliatelle with truffle eaten!

Great New Year's Eve menu with very tasty wine. Pleasant atmosphere, just the right service. We had a relaxing start to New Year's Eve here and can't really complain. All of the dishes taste really excellent, although certainly not suitable to satisfy an enormous hunger. We can still fully recommend Da Baggio to spend a nice evening there.

There were five of us in the restaurant yesterday. Unfortunately, due to the traffic situation, we arrived 15 minutes later than we had actually reserved. We were initially insulted, which is why I would love to leave the store again! But okay, we still gave them the “chance”. So neither the food nor the service was impressive. Even if I were starving, I wouldn't go in there again. Friendliness should be very important in a restaurant. It's a shame about the money we left behind.

Nice rooms, good food, at a good price. The service was nice. For 5 stars, that certain extra is missing in all areas. I would recommend the restaurant to everyone. I had a tagliatelle with pistachio pesto and truffles. My colleague had the seafood spaghetti. These two dishes can be seen in the pictures. The location in the western part of town made it nice to take a walk afterwards. A reservation in advance could be important. We were there a little earlier than usual so we didn't need a reservation. Events also seem to be possible there.

Outstanding service, incredibly delicious food! At the end of our company trip to Heidelberg we chose Da Baggio for our dinner and made the absolute best decision! The team around Valeria, Johanna, Franziska and Jannis as well as the kitchen completely convinced us and the food was really excellent (we tried 9 different main courses and desserts). Particularly noteworthy is Franziska, whose open, communicative nature ensured that we will remember this dinner for a long time! When we are in Heidelberg we would love to come back!

An absolutely amazing restaurant! From the service to the food you will not find a better place in Heidelberg. The portions are a perfect size to leave you satisfied and not too full. The targetelli tossed in the Parmesan wheel topped with truffles is an absolute must have! We then got recommended an amazing local white wine that made us just want to sit and enjoy that moment. This is the restaurant that you go out of your way to be at! Even has a kids corner with books which our kids really enjoyed after they were done eating.

The gnocchi in the restaurant were good – nice and tender and with a delicious sauce. Not outstanding, but definitely satisfactory. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall, a solid dish that I'm sure you can enjoy again, but it didn't completely blow me away.

The truth is that we didn't expect that we would like dinner so much. The incredible Capresse rissoto and the Tagliatelle with pistachio pesto were AMAZING. They also have a huge cheese where they put the pasta to make sauce. Really 10/10

I always get pizza to pick up here. In short: TOP PIZZA!!!!! I can't judge the rest from the food. 1 star deduction for service because I'm always there on time but the pizza isn't ready yet. You can still optimize here, but you can also wait 10 minutes. ALWAYS find it DELICIOUS here. :)

The food is very good, I would say the best Italian in the region. Unfortunately, the portion size of the noodles does not match the price. It could be €2 more expensive, but the quantity just isn't right. Even with a starter, only the pizzas will really fill you up... The selection of drinks is quite good, but not cheap either. Plus you either need sharper knives, or you have to bring the pizzas cut (even if that's not quite as elegant), so it's a pretty nice arm workout ;)

We were there for lunch with 7 people. 6 of us had the lunch menu. Super tasty, large portion. 1 of us wanted a vegan dish. Wasn't a problem either. The staff was quick and attentive. All in all 👍.

We went to Da Baggio as part of a school trip! Since we were a very large group, it is of course always a challenge for the staff, especially when there are many extra requests and reorders! However, everything went smoothly from start to finish and the staff were always friendly and helpful and in a good mood! However, we don't think the price-performance ratio is necessarily right for every dish! Pasta was way too overpriced and the pizzas had just enough toppings!

Wow. Simply really good. We were greeted very nicely and were given a table without a reservation. Had a lovely evening with a great atmosphere and really good food. The day menu presented us with a challenge as everything sounded so good. Nevertheless, we managed to decide 😉

We were there with our bowling club (11 girls). The food was great, the drinks were cold and the service was excellent. We had a great time sitting outside and spent a few hours there. If we are in Heidelberg again we would love to go back!!!

If you always have to make a reservation in a restaurant, you can safely take that as a very good sign. Da Baggio and his team have become the “Italians we trust”. Excellent fish dishes and seafood: Branzino! Pulpo! great risotto. Great veal schnitzel etc. Every now and then something new on the changing menu. But the pizzas are also great! Beautiful selected wines. You can safely go there. In summer: great terrace - but also very cozy inside!

Es war ein richtig schöner Abend gewesen. Das Essen war mega gut (wir haben Pizza, Pasta, Schnitzel etc bestellt & niemand hatte was zu bemängeln). Wir waren als Team mit 12 Personen vor Ort gewesen. Alles verlief reibungslos, das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊

Comimos fuera, que es muy agradable. Los entrantes - Bruschetta y plato Anti Pasti eran muy sabrosos. Las pizzas estaban bien y delgadas, pero preferiría que se cocinaran un poco más, ya que prefiero que la base y las cortezas sean ligeramente crujientes, en lugar de un poco pálidas y ligeramente pastosas. The waiter was rude, unfriendly and arrogant, something I've never experienced before. Only gives out a maximum of 4 glasses per bottle of wine, because this is the rule and as a 'sommelier' he knows better, then divides the entire bottle (!!!) into the 4 glasses at once, far more than that usual amount and also uneven, so he can prove how right he is as a wannabe sommelier! So we preferred to forego a second bottle or desserts rather than stay in this restaurant any longer. Do yourself a favor and don't go there.

When we ordered a bottle of wine (0.75l) with six glasses, we were told that wine would be served with a maximum of four glasses. Offering the wine for tasting not to the person who ordered and paid for it, but to someone else, is a faux pas that can happen to a waiter, but should not happen if he tries to emphasize his outstanding skills as a sommelier in the next sentence. When we politely asked what the four-glass rule was all about, the waiter reacted maliciously and explained that a bottle of wine is just four glasses and that he was a sommelier and knew that. As if to prove this, he continued to pour wine into each of the four glasses, which he had already filled with the usual 0.1 liters, until the entire bottle of wine was distributed (not evenly, by the way), and said spitefully -triumphantly: “Here you go, exactly four glasses!” There is a different way to create a feel-good atmosphere, which is why we preferred to forego a second and third bottle of wine, which we would otherwise have ordered, as well as desserts. The pizzas were tasty, the courtyard is pretty, but couldn't make up for the waiter's demeanor. Fortunately, there are very good alternatives in the immediate area.

Average food but incredibly unfriendly waiter. He claims he has a clue, only gives out 4 glasses per bottle of wine and then divides the bottle completely so that he as a “sommelier” is right and has control over it. Dear untrained incompetent: the guest BUYS the bottle and the experience around it, but not your opinion. No sommelier would divide a bottle completely into 4 glasses because it gets warm... I was at Pizza Hut today and they have more competent service than this guy...

Delicious pizza, got a nice spot without a reservation

Sind über Tripadvisor auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Die Begrüßung war herzlich. Wir hatten einen schönen Tisch im halboffenen Innenhof. Die Anti Pasti und die Bruschetta waren sehr lecker. Die Pizzen schön knusprig und luftig und sehr gut belegt. Der Service war sehr flott und freundlich. Das Da Baggio kann ich wirklich weiterempfehlen. Es liegt zwar etwas abseits der Altstadt aber einen Besuch ist es wert.

Caña aquí para una comida sencilla. Caminar al lado de la estación no nos impresionó en cuanto al barrio. Mucha gente que podría hacer algo mejor de su vida. Pero en las últimas dos calles el ambiente cambió y el restaurante era, contrariamente a lo que se pensaba inicialmente, acogedor y sencillo teniendo un gran ambiente. El servicio fue muy amable, y la comida, las pizzas encantadoras, y entrantes servido extremadamente rápido. Según la alegre camarera, elegimos el momento adecuado : - ). Sin duda un lugar para aconsejar, nuestro pequeño también disfrutó de sus hijos pizza, para ser recibidos sin reservas en una noche de mucho trabajo, respeto y muchas gracias.

We had made reservations for people on a Sunday evening and wanted to sit in the covered beer garden. This was well attended, but there were still a number of tables free (5 tables for 4 people were free), but we still had to sit at a table for two that was about 65x65 cm in size and was in the middle of the room. In response to inquiries it was said that the other places were kept free for spontaneous guests. If we had both ordered a pizza that was large and very good, there would have been a collision. The remaining tables remained free all evening. There was a complete misjudgment and we felt disadvantaged - we had an “emergency place” despite having a reservation, but a feel-good atmosphere is different. Unfortunately there was no response to the feedback we sent afterwards - apparently there are enough guests in Weststadt. Too bad!

That wasn't the case, we were definitely completely ignored, even though we were sitting within sight of the bartender and waitress. After about 10 minutes we went to the counter on our own to ask for a glass of wine and were told they were about to close. The other guests sat in front of their glasses and probably watched the football game to the end. This ignorance and unfriendliness really bothered us -

Der Biergarten hat eine ansprechende Atmosphäre - gut besucht, familiär dennoch modern & gepflegt. Die Bruschetta sind tomatig/kräutrig-lecker. Das Pilzrisotto sowie die Rigatoni mit Lachs, geschmacklich wie handwerklich sehr gut, lediglich der Beilagensalat war etwas fad & latschig. Bepreisung der Speisen war fair, Getränke hingegen deutlich zu hoch - das gibt der Laden nicht her. Service war freundlich, präsent & fix, hatte jedoch das eine oder andere vergessen. Trotz kleiner Mängel ein schöner Abend & eine klare Empfehlung.

The garden here is delightful. You may need to make a reservation to sit there as it was fully booked when we arrived. Our choice was fairly basic - we had two pizzas, but there are more sophisticated dishes on the menu. We enjoyed our pizzas. The staff are great — they kindly spoke in English as our German is limited and were really pleasant.

So I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time, it was an absolute disaster. The waiter behaved so badly. Even though he speaks English fluently, he spoke super quickly in a fake Italian accent. Apparently he wanted to sail out. When it came to paying, he simply didn't let people pay for their wife's food and scheduled bongs the way he wanted. The only thing missing was that he poured red wine on every guest. I had a pizza that was underbaked and tasted okay, but definitely not up to par for pizza quality.

We were with our family 2 years after the last visit and unfortunately we were disappointed with the taste of the dishes. All the ordered dishes were nicely presented, but the taste of the dishes was very poor and we did not like them. The taste used to be really good and it's a pity that it has changed. Nice service .

I looked for the bathroom and didn't found it. Then, I asked a waiter that had just finished to serve a table: "Excuse me Sir, where is the toilette, please?". Suddenly, he was totally crazy! He shouted at me, at a very high volume, that I would have to wait, because he was serving another costumers. He was very rude and aggressive, and yelled at me in front of the whole restaurante, and also my wife and kids. I felt terrified and just replied: "Calm down, man, calm down...". He shouted that I had no manners, that he wouldn't have to calm down, and a lot of bad things to me. Finally, he pointed with fury the direction to the toilette, without specific orientations. I was really shocked by the unexpected situation and just went to the bathroom. The other waiter (that was a nice guy) was also shocked with what happened and apologized to us later. But the waiter (later I found that his name is "Dimitrius") didn't apologize, looked or talked to us during the dinner. We tried to talk with the owner/manager but he wasn't there. We came back the next day and talked with one of the two owners. He was really nice and apologized for all that happened. We are very sad and hope that no one experience the same humiliating situation. But we wish all the best to the restaurant and the owners, who seem to be nice guys and worried with the customers.

I've been coming to DaBaggio for many years. During my visit today I noticed that the quality has decreased a lot, but at the same time the prices have increased generously. 9€ for a homemade lemonade just to give an example…. It's a shame, we won't be coming back for a while.

Excellent service from a very charming waitress and waiter. They were very attentive and managed our allergy requirements quickly and with no fuss. The restaurant even rang us in advance to explain gluten free options which was much appreciated. The food was very tasty and good sized portions. Plenty of options. A very pleasant experience in a quiet street away from the tourist venues. Highly recommend.

Very tasty authentic Italian food. Had pizza and salad. The pizza is topped with a delicious, fruity tomato sauce and mozzarella and, above all, lots of basil. We have often been to da baggio but this time it was terribly bad. We had reserved for twelve people and the table was in the “draughty area” between the garden and the restaurant. The service was arrogant and rude and the busboy wasn't familiar with the menu. He didn't know what was on the menu and we even had to show him where the bottle for the degestive was in the restaurant. The brandy was not served to us at 4cl as described on the menu, but at 2cl in a grappa glass 🙈! Some of the food was not the standard we were used to. It was poorly seasoned and the fish with the linguine was mini, dry cubes that you had to look for. We will no longer visit this restaurant. Our complaints were responded to cheekily and impudently. We no longer have to spend our money! Definitely not recommended for larger groups. It's a shame it used to be good!
