Restaurant Dreimäderlhaus in Potsdam

We were passing through today and were looking for something "local," which wasn't easy with all the Asian shops and tourist bars. But the Dreimäderlhaus is super quaint, with good, home-style cooking and delicious food; for us, it's authentic Potsdam. The owners have a Berlin charm, are very warm and direct. Always open to our requests. We felt at home. So, if you want typical German food, this is the place to be.

If you're looking for a rustic restaurant with traditional German cooking, this is the place for you. The host is a one-of-a-kind, incredibly friendly and relaxed. A huge compliment, of course, to the kitchen. The food is fresh and prepared with love. The portions are really generous. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable dinner in an incredibly wonderful atmosphere.

My companion and I discovered the small, cozy restaurant by chance and were warmly welcomed and assigned a table. The beef roulade with red cabbage, brown sauce and dumplings with brown butter (served nice and hot) that we ordered were “delicious” and very temptingly presented. We have already recommended you to others and will continue to do so. Many thanks to the team for this culinary delight! We'll definitely come back when we end up in Potsdam! The BEST schnitzel and blutwurst I’ve ever had, living in Germany for two years and traveling like a tourist for the best schnitty. Potatoes out of this world, blumenkohl (cauliflower) insane with the butter crumb. Eat here!!!

I got this from Google reviews, it’s really delicious! The boss speaks fluent English and is very kind and cute☺️. The meal was so big that I couldn’t finish it but couldn’t bear to give it up, so I took it away and planned to continue eating it with beer in the evening😆

It is a traditional German family restaurant. The menu is in German, but the boss can speak English, but mainly in German. If you really don’t know what to order, you can ask the boss with pictures. This time I ordered German pork knuckles and Italian The noodles also come with draft beer, and overall they are quite delicious. The pork trotters are very poorly prepared and need to be eaten with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes on the side to avoid them being too salty. The pasta is delicious both in the sauce and the pasta. It’s the kind of pasta you want to eat. If you need to visit during the meal period, it’s recommended to make a reservation first. I walked in by mistake that day. After I took my seat, I found that all the surrounding seats were fully booked. It’s a perfect place to visit after visiting Sanssouci Palace. Come and dine at the restaurant.

One of the best restaurants in Potsdam, the landlord made it possible for four of us to get places for our birthday dinner at relatively short notice, despite the closed company. The food (we had schnitzel, Königsberger meatballs and liver) was very tasty, obviously homemade and very plentiful. The service is extremely warm. We'd love to come back

I share the experience of the others who wrote the owner is rude. While the restaurant was open we were approached outside by the owner who just said it's closed without any explanation. Would have sufficed to say it's a reservation only restaurant.

Family restaurant, small but well decorated and very cozy. The best of all the German restaurants I have known, the dishes were spectacular, very well cooked and excellent presentation with reasonable prices for the quality of the cuisine. The man who served us was also approachable and pleasant. We left delighted, I will recommend it to everyone who visits Potsdam

The service was excellent - attentive and fast, making for a smooth dining experience. Despite the high quality, the prices were reasonable. The restaurant's lovely, cozy atmosphere added to the enjoyment of the meal. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine German food or looking for a charming spot for dinner.

A place you have to visit in Potsdam

German home cooking like you know from grandma.

Best pork knuckle I've eaten in 12 years. From my point of view, everything was homemade and according to the host, the pork knuckle weighs 700g with bones! The liver was also great, although a little sauce would be nice or the liver wasn't cooked quite as well.

Today we (mom, dad and two teenagers) were at a super nice innkeeper with excellent German cuisine! We are already looking forward to the next visits. See you soon the Thuringians.

Was very disappointed having read such positive reviews of a friendly owner. We approached him outside the venue to enquire about a table (where there were other diners eating) and he ignored us. We headed inside and tried again, using our best novice German and were told ‘Closed society’. Other diners inside just blinked and stared. Was a humiliating experience and our first (attempted) dining out in Potsdam. Such a shame given we were seeking good hospitality and local cuisine.

Owner was very polite with us. He even spoke some Spanish words with us, and gave us a free cup of coffee at the end of our meal

Roughly friendly service, as you would expect in an old German restaurant. The prices are appropriate for the food, which is very good, slightly rustic and, above all, a decent portion. If you don't get enough here, you'll probably just have to order more.

Top landlord with a Berlin snout, but rustic and nice. We ordered two original Berlin dishes (liver and bratwurst with cauliflower) and a salad with chicken breast. Everything was like at mother's home. Super tasty and freshly prepared. Thanks again for the good hospitality and deliciously prepared food. When we are back in Potsdamm we would like to come back. One of the best German meals I've had while visiting Germany. The restaurant is cozy and is elegantly decorated, run by a husband-wife duo which is impressive given the quality. The host is extremely hospitable and accommodating, even to tourists like me. I ordered the bratwurst which was excellent, I wish I could try out more of the menu, alas I was in Potsdam only for a day trip. There is no separate menu in English but Google Lens does the job well and the host is patient with it.

A beautiful, small German restaurant. We were welcomed and seated very friendly. The food is amazing. We had pork knuckle and liver with mashed potatoes. A small menu ensures that the home-cooked food is still fresh and tasty. The innkeeper is a real one-of-a-kind, up for jokes and he really makes sure that the guests don't lack for anything. My conclusion is: wonderful food, great host. Keep it up!

We had lunch here while touring Potsdam. A traditional German restaurant. I had a dish (?) from the Brandenburg region called Königsberger Kropse. It was delicious and the quantity was large. I was thinking of ordering soup, but the owner advised me not to order it because the portion was too large. Other dishes such as Schweinehakse and sausages also looked delicious.

No children allowed, even if the inn is empty.
