Despite the crowds, the service was very friendly. He also spoke good English. The food is very tasty with many different dishes. This way you can taste a little bit of everything. A nice extra: the napkins contain Greek words with German translations. This way we could learn German and Greek at the same time 😉

Spontaneously went to Delphi again today. We had never been there with a dog before, after a quick call everything was clear: 4-legged friends are warmly welcome and are immediately greeted with a drinking bowl - an absolute blessing given the temperatures and incredibly attentive. After we received a very friendly welcome from Dennis, we immediately noticed the new ambience. The floor and seating are new, everything is brighter, more modern and more beautiful. The new owners are visibly proud of the new look with the old charm. It's really well done and invites you to linger. Dennis is incredibly attentive, friendly, quick and simply loves his guests. This warmth radiates throughout the entire restaurant and the other employees simply do everything right. Friendliness, new modern and imaginative menu, great, super portioned and delicious food, definitely make the Delphi our favorite Greek restaurant 🥰 ....keep it up and all the best, until next time. 👍🐶

Great service, Dennis is just incredibly warm. The food is very tasty, but the gyros could be darker. The interior design of the predecessor was carried over and is probably several decades old, but that also has charm. All in all a great restaurant.

The host was very friendly, the food and drinks were very good and the price/performance ratio was also very good. Ambience could be a little more "Greek", more reminiscent of a normal German pub. But is negligible

There are many restaurants in Essen, also with good food. But here it's somehow completely different... I would just like to briefly mention the food - phenomenal!! ❤️❤️ We have now gone through the menu, whether with family or friends. The food is just great and incredibly tasty. But what particularly stands out here: You eat there 2/3 times and then you know your name there. Even without making a reservation, you can drop by spontaneously and the waiter knows you. But in a way that has nothing to do with making money but because they are just so warm there. And that makes the difference. The waiter remembers previous conversations, asks, knows what you ate...it's so hard to describe what I want to say. You just feel like family very quickly. But the whole thing without it becoming intrusive or unpleasant. I think it's because the employees there are just like that and don't try to slip into a role and then seem artificial. If you're looking for an incredibly friendly and honest atmosphere in addition to excellent food, you've come to the right place. Within a very short time it has become the entire family's favorite restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful hours with you 🙏🙏🙏

We regularly visit the Delphi restaurant with the family. You always feel warmly welcome there at any time. The service is unique! Denis radiates a sympathy that is well received by everyone. We like the food very much. Wishes are always taken into account or tailored to our children. Every visit to Denis is a highlight for us, especially for our boys 😍

I spontaneously reserved a table at the Delphi yesterday (Saturday), and it was a very nice conversation on the phone😊 After we were there today and received a very friendly welcome and were very surprised that everything was very bright and friendly (everything was very gloomy back then) and then found out that there was a new owner, we were even more surprised. It was just great 🥰 from the friendliness of Denis to the food. You've definitely gained regular guests 🥰....keep it up, Holsterhausen just needs something good like this. Greetings Katja & Jens

The Delphi restaurant in Holsterhausen is a place where service and quality are very important. We (and friends and family who have been there so far) always feel very comfortable and wonderfully looked after there. The ambience is in a traditional Greek style and absolutely harmonious. We have now tried a few dishes from the new menu and have always been impressed. The quality and generous portions are excellent and worth every euro. What is very positive is that our little dog is really welcome there. Dennis and his team do an excellent job there every evening (even in stressful moments). We really enjoy coming back.

The quality of the food was not recommended...we were there with 8 people and none of them really enjoyed it...the restaurant was pretty empty on a Sunday...the cherry on top was that our table was cleared without asking, even though there was 1 guest there The table was still eating. ..pretty rude and unprofessional...we had the impression that we should leave quickly..what a shame

Very tasty food, even after the change of ownership. Dennis's super friendly nature makes you really feel like a guest and not a customer. Now, after a few months, I would like to add that, as a repeat customer, I am still completely thrilled by the dishes on offer (unfortunately I cannot make any special recommendations because everything is delicious) and Dennis's unique, positive charisma. In the meantime, I have also attracted a lot of friends outside of Essen here and everyone was thrilled.

Very nice atmosphere, I've never been to Greece, but I think it reflects Greece very well. Which extends to the food, which is simply incredibly tasty and of really great quality. If you haven't tried the garlic potatoes yet, it's your own fault. The atmosphere is very familiar and very, very warm. I'll be eating here more often now.

Great service, Dennis is really something special. The food was okay for the price, but what was really impressive was the warm service and the answer to special requests: “but of course it works” :)

Sooooooooo, today was the first time I went to Delphi after the new owners took over. Thank God I didn't wait any longer 😀. I don't have to explain my 5 stars for the food to guests who have eaten here... the garlic potatoes alone are a real treat!!! The 5 stars for the staff of course belong to the magicians in the kitchen and the tireless Dennis, who treats every guest like a dear friend!!! You just don't want to leave at all 😉..... And finally the ambience with its “old charm”. You have the option of sitting back in a corner, but a larger celebration with many people is also possible as there is enough space. And the opening times are very important to me. I don't have to wait until 5/5:30 p.m. on a Sunday to finally go out to eat!!! It is open all day on Sundays. Great, I'm thrilled. Great service, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The new, reduced menu is simply great. Now new: the interior design has been upgraded with ❤️, new, bright tables and a newer ambience make the restaurant visually more modern and beautiful.

Service is top, Dennis is very accommodating and friendly. The food is average, I've had much better Greek food. The portions quite small. Everything tasted okay. The menu contains a lot of spelling errors. The prices of some dishes are difficult to understand. Greek starters with cooked ham? It's not Greek. Where is taramas, feta, seafood salad? The restaurant was very cold, we were all freezing. The ambience and furniture is very old. Conclusion, you can go. Anyone expecting culinary delights here is in the wrong place.

The food is really very good and special requests are also implemented. The service is outstanding and Dennis is the soul of the restaurant. We feel very well looked after there and are happy when we come back there. Although there are other good restaurants in Essen, this has become our favorite place and Dennis is not innocent of it. But as always with such subjective impressions, everyone can feel it differently.

Were there on Saturday and are very satisfied. The welcome and the stay were very warm. The starters and the main course were a dream, I have never eaten Greek so well. Dennis is amazing, you can tell straight away that he does his job with heart and passion. Thank you very much and see you at Christmas.

"Der Grieche" auf der Ecke, einfach gut (und Kult)! Essen von Qualität und Preis/Leistung top. Service selbst am Samstagabend mit Ausreserviert und Gruppen/Familienfeiern aufmerksam und freundlich (Selbst wenn im Stress) Einzig Ambiente, zwar sehr urig und gemütlich. Aber leider keine gute Lüftung/kein Klima und somit sehr warm und stickig (im hinteren Teil).

Essen bei Delphi schmeckt nicht nur super sondern macht auch noch gute Laune! 😉

Seit 3 Monaten sind neue Pächter im Delphi. Das Essen war sehr lecker 😋. Denis, der Kellner war wie man sich Eibe aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung wünscht. Kommen gerne wieder.

Unglaublich 😍 Dennis hat uns sooo herzlich empfangen und die ganze Zeit sooo zuvorkommend behandelt (hat man heutzutage sehr selten)💖. Das Essen absolut TOP🔝🔝Preis/Leistung geht nicht besser👍 Wir waren noch nie sooo gut griechisch Essen und der Service war unbezahlbar 🥰

Wir waren am Wochenende das 1. Mal dort...das Essen vom Geschmack, ganz toll..aber ganz besonders der Service war eine Wucht ,so etwas von zuvorkommend und höflich...aber auch bei jedem Kunden der rein kam...weiter so,wir werden uns bestimmt wieder sehen

Seit dem Wechsel ist der Laden viel besser geworden. Wir waren am Samstag dort und die Kellner sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Service und das Essen kann ich durch meine Erfahrung als hervorragend betiteln. Wir wurden bestens bedient und man kann über die Service nicht meckern. :) Nur was ich nicht toll fand ist, dass einer von 3 Mitarbeiter arbeitet und die anderen ignorieren das finde ich unprofessionell! Wir werden trotz kleiner Kritik im Herbst wiederkommen. :) Ach ja, die Nummer 8. auf der Speisekarte ist echt lecker und kann es jedem weiterempfehlen. :) Beste Grüße Familie Kaval - Trappe

Wer Top Service erleben will sollte ins Delphi gehen und ja das Essen ist auch top . Dennis ist mega fleißig und wenn es mal länger dauert verzeiht man es ihm gerne . Daher unser neues Stammlokal auch wenn es altmodisch wirkt fühlt man sich hier sehr wohl . Das macht der gute Service . Danke dafür und wir kommen wieder und jeden den ich mitnehme stimmt mir zu .

Ich bin sehr sehr traurig. Delphi war über viele Jahre mein Lieblingsrestaurant. Die neue Karte gefällt mir überhaupt nicht. Viele Gerichte, für die ich extra 1 Stunde Fahrweg auf mich genommen habe, gibt es überhaupt nicht mehr auf der Karte. Die Qualität des Essens ist leider auch nicht mehr wirklich gut. Das bricht mir echt das Herz. Der Service ist ganz anders und nicht mehr das, was es mal war. 🥺

Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den super netten und bemühten Kellner. Er hat sogar an unseren Hund gedacht und ihm Wasser gebracht. Das Essen war auch lecker und kam schnell. Ist zu empfehlen :)

Das Essen war sehr lecker, super Qualität. Bei der großen Auswahl bleibt kaum ein Wunsch offen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen bestimmt wieder.

Super zufrieden, essen sehr lecker.

Die Speise war gut, das Fleisch war auch sehr zart gegrillt! Aber es gab nur für uns gar keine Ouzo als Begrüßung oder am Ende, obwohl es bei anderen Leuten, die viel später als wir ankommen waren, auf den Tischen schon mal oder mehrmals Ouzo gab. Es war etwa unverständlich, da wir in unterschiedlichen Städten mehrmals griechisch gegessen haben und noch niemals zum Schluss oder inzwischen keine Ouzo bekommen haben. 🥲Der Kellner sollte zumindest mal fragen, ob wir Ouzo haben wollen. Es sah aber unangenehm und unprofessional aus. Ich verstehe das jetzt aber nur, dass wir mit uneuropäischen Aussehen sind. Ich sah hier in anderen Kommentaren, dass es doch freundlicherweise Ouzo gibt. Auch noch, der Kellner fand wahrscheinlich lustig, als es das Bierglas aus Versehen auf der Gabel stand, aber er hat das Bierglas nicht gleich danach richtig auf dem Tisch gestanden. Solche unaufmerksame Verhalten sollten lieber verzichten, es ist schon nicht schön, besonders falls das Bierglas nicht richtig auf der Gabel paar Sekunden geschaukelt hätte, sondern gleich auf dem Tisch gekippt hätte. Schade…Dafür kann ich leider nur 3Sterne geben.

Seit Jahren in 2. Familien-Generation, mit gleichbleibend sehr guten Speisen, geführtes griechisches Restaurant. Wer die griechische Küche mag, ist hier an der richtigen Adresse

Sehr nettes Personal. Getränke und Essen wurde schnell zu Tisch gebracht. Selten so heißes Essen im Restaurant erhalten. Geschmacklich einfach Top, 10 Sterne. Zaziki nicht mit Knoblauch überwürzt. Fleisch zart und auch nicht in Kräutern ertränkt. Gyros zerfiel im Mund ( fantastisch). Ganz zu Schweigen von der Metaxa Sauce, einfach nur perfekt. Kein 08/15 Grieche. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Wir haben euch durch Zufall entdeckt auf dem Weg ins Kino. Weiter so, dann macht ihr viele Gäste glücklich. Preis Leistung ist auch vollkommen okay. Trotz Preissteigerung der letzten Monate hat man hier das Gefühl, sie wurde fair umgesetzt. Grosses Lob an den Chef und sein Personal.

Eine in die Jahre gekommene etwas altbackene Einrichtung, aber ich mag sowas. Aber das Essen war wie immer hervorragend.
