Es war sehr gemütlich und das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Essen war super.

Super leckeres, frisches Essen und hervorragender Service. Die Freundlichkeit und Professionalität waren bewundernswert. Wenn wir wieder in Essen sind, kommen wir ganz sicher wieder, um uns erneut so verwöhnen zu lassen.

Kamen um 21:00 Uhr um zu essen,wurden leider aber weggeschickt, weil bereits geschlossen, obwohl laut Google bis 22:00 geöffnet

Sehr gutes griechisches Restaurant mit super nettem Service. Die Karte ist sehr reichhaltig und es gibt auch noch eine Sonderkarte. Die Portionen sind sehr üppig - Vorspeise UND Hauptspeise sind schon eine Herausforderung, aber man kann die Reste auch mitnehmen. Wir waren nun zum 2. und bestimmt nicht letzten Mal dort und haben uns erneut sehr wohl gefühlt. Es waren auch merklich viele Stammgäste dort, was ja immer ein gutes Zeichen ist.

Sehr gemütlich, tolle und nette Bedienung, das Essen sehr lecker. Die Speisekarte sehr umfangreich, mit Gerichten die man nicht überall bestellen kann. Wir kommen wieder.

Es ist ein sehr schönes Restaurant. Wir drei Freunde haben griechisch gegessen. Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt.

War am Sonntag mit Freunden das erste Mal dort und kann ich nur empfehlen. Rundum alles super!!!! Kommen gerne wieder!

Leckeres Essen und superfreundliches Personal!

Familiär, sehr gastfreundlich und authentische griechische Speisen. Besonders empfehlenswert sind die Mezes (Vorspeisen) und Fischgerichte/Meeresfrüchte. Auch die klassischen Grillteller gehen immer. Jeder Besuch ist ein Genuss und wie nach Hause kommen. Ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ!

Es wird ein unvergesslicher Abend bleiben, den ich mit meinen Freundinnen gerne wiederholen werde.

Das Essen war ein Traum und somit Grund genug für mich das Restaurant weiterzuempfehlen und auch wieder zu kommen. Ich habe mir mit einer Freundin 2 Gerichte geteilt, und das wurde sehr gut umgesetzt. Es war jedoch sehr voll und damit sehr laut, sodass das Unterhalten teilweise anstrengend war. Zudem war die Heizung so stark aufgedreht, dass wir diese erstmal runterdrehen mussten, um angenehm beisammen sitzen zu können. Der Service war sehr freundlich und angenehm, nur am Ende war es schwieriger die Aufmerksamkeit zu erhalten (trotz leerer Getränke auf dem Tisch).

Sehr gutes griechisches Restaurant. Von frischem Thunfisch bishin zu Gyros einfach alles lecker. Bei Fragen steht das Personal kompetent und freundlich zur Verfügung. Auch bei vollem Restaurant kommt das Essen zügig. Der Service hat leider etwas nachgelassen daher Aktualisierung auf 4 Sterne. Es wirkt teilweise so, als ob die Tische unbedingt schnell wieder frei werden sollen. Die geht zu Lasten der entspannten Atmosphäre.

Fantastisch leckere vegetarische Vorspeisen und auch warme Gerichte. Beste Tsatsiki was ich bisher gegessen hab. Alles frisch und schön angerichtet. Chef und Service super nett. ❤️

Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal, das auch bei großem Andrang oder nervigen Kunden freundlich und ruhig bleibt. Gute Portionen und Preise, Gyros und Suflaki sehr gut. Gegrillte Peperoni als Vorspeise sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich kann die guten Bewertungen überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen, aber das ist wahrscheinlich so ein Rüttenscheid Ding. Das fing bereits beim Brot an, schmeckte wie Aufback- Baguette von Aldi und nicht richtig durchgebacken, Mezedes groß war geschmacklich nix besonderes, den Oktapodaki musste man suchen, nur kleine Fitzelchen. Salat vom Hauptgang wurde gleich bei der Vorspeise mit serviert... Weiter wurden mehrere Speisen, speziell Gyros, kalt bis lauwarm serviert, bei Reklamation wurde nachgebessert aber das neue Essen stand innerhalb von zwei Minuten wieder auf dem Tisch, Pommes waren überhaupt nicht knusprig, letschig. Kaffee nach dem Essen schmeckte, als ob ein Pad 3x aufgebrüht wurde, absolute Frechheit. Die sehr unangenehme Lautstärke und die unbequemen Stühle bieten keine angenehme Atmosphäre, die Karte enthält übermäßig viele Gerichte und die Speisen sind m.E. überteuert.

Fangen wir mal von vorne an..Die Stühle sind unbequem, der Service lässt zu wünschen übrig weswegen das aufgeben der Bestellung schon schwierig war. Die Vorspeisenplatte schmeckte nach nichts, und das Brot was dabei war hätte auch lieber durchgebacken werden sollen. Das Hauptgericht kam nach ca 1,5 Stunden und es war stellenweise schon kalt, weswegen ich es zurückgeben musste. Ein neuer Teller kam nach ca 5 min, was ich schon komisch fand. Die Pommes sowie das Lamm und das Gyros schmeckten absolut nach nichts..einfach laff...

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe da und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Aufmerksamer, perfekter Service, erstklassiges Essen zu fairen Preisen - was will man mehr?

Essen war okay, ab einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt wurde unsere Gruppe ignoriert und vom Getränkenachschub abgeschnitten.

Super nette Leute, das Essen war gut. Am ersten Abend war es etwas ungewiss. Und obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten, bekamen wir einen Tisch. Das Essen ist fantastisch. Als ich fragte, ob man auch etwas mitnehmen könne, war die Antwort ja. Wir holten es ab und aßen im Hotel, das nur 50 Meter entfernt war. Es war sehr sauber und gepflegt, besonders die beiden, die das Restaurant führen.

..kann den vielen positiven Bewertungen nur zustimmen: schön mediterran eingerichtet, super Essen und sehr herzlicher Service = ein gelungener Abend. Auch die Preise sind völlig in Ordnung, da Qualität nunmal bezahlt werden muss. Vielen Dank - wir kommen wieder !

Dennoch kann man auch hier lecker Gyros und Pommes essen und mit Metaxasoße genießen. Diese ist allerdings als Beispiel deutlich schmackhafter als in anderen lokalen.

Es war super lecker! Ambiente Top! Ebenso der Service überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend! Schöne Atmosphäre man fühlt sich wie im Urlaub auf einer griechischen Insel! Wenn es am Wochenende sehr voll ist und alle Tische schon voll bzw. reserviert sind, dann sollte man auch Verständnis haben nach 5-10 Minütchen wird dann eigentlich auch wieder was frei. Nur zu empfehlen! :))

Wir waren auf der Durchreise und wollten Einkehren. Drinnen waren Tische Reserviert,aber einer war scheinbar nicht Reserviert. An den Tisch setzten wir uns und wurden gleich auf Unfreundlichste Art und Weise vom Wirt in Empfang genommen. Dieser bornierte Wirt setzte uns Praktisch sofort vor die Tür. Nachfrage weil der Tisch nicht erkenntlich Reserviert war,wurden mit "hier Reserviere ich "Beantwortet. Nie wieder ! Ein Stern ist noch zu viel !!!

Heute zum ersten Mal spontan eingekehrt. Sehr lecker. Glutenfrei war möglich. Sehr netter Service. Garantiert wieder. Ich hatte Auberginen Röllchen (Vorspeise). Köstlich.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Haben gestern wieder einen Termin für Weihnachten reserviert und freuen uns jetzt schon darauf. 🍹

An absolutely top-notch restaurant! The owner is simply outstanding – warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about his work. You immediately feel welcome and completely at ease. The food is fantastic: fresh, lovingly prepared, and full of flavor. Every course was a delight! I will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

A definite recommendation. We were actually already late, and the kitchen was just about to close. Nevertheless, we were still served. The food was absolutely delicious. One star deducted for the steak, which was supposed to be medium, but was still very rare, a bit too rare. Very nice ambiance, and the owner and his wife were very friendly. All in all, we would definitely come back.

Enjoyment with Greek flair – perhaps a real insider tip! It was our first time in this small, charming Greek restaurant and we loved it! The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive - you feel welcome and in good hands from the first moment. The ambience is lovingly designed and the small details are actually reminiscent of Greece. The interior is a bit cramped and you sit quite close to the other guests, but that also gives the whole thing a bit of the feeling of a convivial evening in a tavern on the Mediterranean. In terms of cuisine, the restaurant stands out from many other Greek restaurants: there is much more here than just the classic Santorini plate. The menu also features surprising and creative dishes that you don't find everywhere - and everything we tried was absolutely delicious! We particularly recommend ordering several starters to share – a real treat and a great way to start the evening. Conclusion: A wonderful restaurant with heart, taste and personality. The repetition factor? Clearly 50% – we will definitely be back! (50% because we don't like sitting close together)

Tasteful mezes! Chicken with onion and red pepper was delicious! Half Levreki portion was really small, price may be reduced. It is really nice to have fries and salad as menu. Genereally prices are reasonable but must be discussed to reduce them. Non-English menu is not tourist-friendly!

We visited Odyssia for the first time today and we were thrilled. The garlic bread was extremely fluffy and simply delicious. My boyfriend had his best gyro with a gratin, and I had a delicious pork fillet with spinach and cheese. The meat was extremely tender and juicy, and everything was perfectly seasoned. The ambiance reminded us of a taverna in Greece. We simply felt at home and will be back. ❤️

Too bad. As is so often the case in restaurants these days, it's at least half a mess. When we arrived, we were told we were expected "yesterday." Stupid. Because we were given an improvised table combination facing the wall. Great. That's exactly how I imagine a nice evening. The place was barely full, but the glasses were all the emptier. I had to "ask" three times to come to the table with eight people and offer them something to drink. That's incredibly annoying. The guest wants to have a nice evening, with their thoughts on their friends, not on their minds, "When the hell will the waiter finally come by and ask if everything's OK!" Horrible. My bifteki was delicious. The ambiance was typical. You have to raise your voice to even reach person number 6 at the back... Annoying. Welcome to soundproof ceilings made in Germany. That would be progress.

We spontaneously reserved a table here because we were still looking for a place for dinner. Just in case, we reserved a table with an extremely friendly lady who very kindly squeezed us in. When we got there, we stood in front of the lady, and here too, she was just super nice. So, kudos to her! You could tell she loves her job! A table was then made for us outside, and we immediately started ordering. The selection on the menu left nothing to be desired. We were "forgotten" twice when it came to drinks. I think the young man was still a bit overwhelmed with his job. But let's turn a blind eye. He politely apologized. The food was delicious. However, the wait was a little "long," but still acceptable. However, it shouldn't have been much longer. The atmosphere was inviting. Apart from the wait and the several forgotten drinks, everything was fine.

An authentic Greek tavern with friendly family-run owners. Plenty of choice of food and drinks. Despite the restaurant being full, the drinks and food came promptly. Even Greeks eat there, which is a good sign. We enjoyed it. What is, however, a small drawback: fairly high prices (like everywhere else these days), the menus were tattered and needed to be redone. The starter platter for two people (€40) was enough for the seven of us. Everything your heart desires and delicious. My lamb skewer was tender and the gyros were good. The fries were a bit too thick for me, which is of course a matter of taste. The side salad was ok. Leaf lettuce with a piece of tomato and some cucumber with vinegar oil, that would also work better. The tzaziki with the gyros was good. The district in Rüttenscheid is popular, reservations are mandatory.

Greek food, dishes are filling and very good, very rich, you can feel the good taste, and the customer service is excellent. Highly recommended the truth, they have good music and they gave us some snaps before we left.

Excellent Greek cuisine and top service in the heart of Rüttenscheid. We have been guests at the Odyssia several times and always enjoy coming back. The selection of dishes is typically Greek, of excellent quality and with very decent portion sizes. Our favorite is the large appetizer platter for two as in the photo from February 2024. The service is very attentive, unobtrusive and very friendly, you feel very welcome. Since it is located in the middle of Rüttenscheid, parking is an adventure and due to the high occupancy, a reservation is recommended. Update 10.2024 - as can be seen in the second picture, the quality of the mezze plate is consistently excellent. And another big compliment - five of us spontaneously went to the Odyssia on a Friday - even though almost all the tables were occupied and there were only two of the team in service, we got a table and were served reasonably quickly and, as always, very friendly. Simply great, such a service concept!

Authentic Greek restaurant with friendly service and very good food. It also offers dishes that are not available in other Greek restaurants. Unfortunately it's a bit noisy and finding a parking space is difficult due to the location.

Very nice *Greek summer house* ambience in white with warm accents and indirect blue lighting. Well coordinated. The service was excellent. Even though it was very full, we still managed to get a seat without a reservation. The appetizers and drinks were good. The main courses too, unfortunately the quality of the meat is somewhat inferior. Gladly again, but then other main courses. The portions were also a bit too big, but you can have the leftovers packed up. And I found the prices a bit excessive.

Mal wieder sehr lecker, das Personal wie immer sehr bemüht. Aber ab 19.00, wenn es richtig voll wird, ist es unangenehm laut hier. Auch Gäste, die aus verschiedenen Gründen, am Eingang auf irgendwas warten fallen unangenehm auf. Fühlt sich an wie Haltestelle oder Bahnhof. Wie man das anders lösen kann weiß ich nicht. Gemütlich ist leider anders.

The ambience is nice, but unfortunately the gyros were far too dry. Last time it was much tastier and juicy. At almost 17 euros you can't ask for good gyros? The older gentleman didn't want to let us finish the cappuccino we had taken with us, which was still two sips full in the restaurant...sorry?

Very nice shop. The food is typically Greek and, as usual with the Greeks, you get decent food on your plate. I can recommend.

Today I ordered chicken breast fillet with vegetable rice for the first time, with a sauce on it. Plus a bowl of salad 🤤. I couldn't get enough of it. My order took a while, but it shows that the chef makes the effort to prepare the food carefully. I will come again.

Simply a place like Greece! You feel like a guest! Everyone is very friendly, customer oriented! The food is consistently, very good quality. We were there for dinner, the atmosphere was good! Unfortunately, that was also the most positive thing. The starter, shrimp in butter and garlic, was 3! Individual shrimps for €12.90 we found that to be cheeky. The oil for the fries later at the gyros needed to be changed urgently and tasted old, the portions were actually large as many people have described here, but you don't get any use out of it if it doesn't taste good. We were charged individually for each change in order, for example I didn't want Metaxa sauce, which cost an extra €2.5. Ketchup for the fries was also charged at €1. Absolutely petty.
