The price/performance ratio is okay, the service is very attentive, and the food is delicious. Highly recommended!

We ate here twice during our vacation, and both times it was truly excellent. Should we ever find ourselves in Norddeich again, we'll be happy to return.

The pollock was delicious, the zander was dry. Otherwise, it's a cozy place.

Although the house specialty, it was absolutely terrible. My husband's fish dish was OK. The staff were so lacking in attention that you only got drinks by shouting. After complaining about the food, they just stared at me and didn't respond at all. Not recommended.

There's really nothing to complain about. Extensive menu (there should be something for everyone). Attentive service. Clean restaurant. What more could you want?

So the Wattlooper deserves more... One of the best restaurants here in the north. In our opinion, it's among the top three. The ambiance is good to very good. The service is also very good. The food is excellent, very delicious. Highly recommended, a must for anyone who wants to eat well here. Because it's so good, we went back. The staff is super friendly, always up for a joke. (A tip to the bosses. You have a great team there, keep them together.) We ate on recommendation. Baked redfish and plaice with mushrooms and leeks. Sounded unusual at first! But it was absolutely delicious.

Good food, generous portions (stuffed plaice fillets), friendly service. And I think the value for money is absolutely perfect. I'd be happy to go back...

Great service, we had the vegetable pan and the goat cheese version, which was also vegan-friendly and delicious! Sea buckthorn spritz is also typical here and highly recommended ;)

Excellent food, friendly staff. At first glance, the restaurant seems a few euros more expensive, but considering the portion sizes, it's definitely the best. I'm always full! The outdoor terrace is a wonderful place to sit in the evening sun.

No, there is better in town for a reasonable price. The food was carelessly arranged, meat was dry on a greasy Rösti with very little Camembert and even less cranberries, supposedly gratinated according to the menu, but it was just melted. No good seasoning and no roasted flavors, not even a small salad bouquet How can a trained chef offer something like this at such a high price? Has he ever tried his own dishes? That was a really bad kind of joke, just underground. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Als wir in der letzten Woche im Restaurant zu Abend essen wollten waren wir sehr enttäuscht über die Qualität des Essens Es war völlig geschmacklos. Als der Kellner fragte ob alles in Ordnung wäre haben wir ihm gesagt dass das Essen völlig ohne Geschmack wäre. Daraufhin drehte er sich um und ging ohne ein Wort Wir mussten das Essen komplett bezahlen Sicherlich gehen wir dort nie wieder hin

We (2 people) were there on three evenings. The food was very tasty. You could season it with pepper and salt, which was at the table. The portions were large. Maybe think about bigger plates!? The waitress (blonde, possibly Polish) was very friendly and attentive. We would come back at any time.

After every highly recommended restaurant in Norddeich had its day off on Tuesday, we gave this restaurant a chance - and were bitterly disappointed. The schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fries tasted like fish (!!) and the tagliatelle in lobster sauce and salmon were a single pile of dry noodles - with no taste and no sauce. The salmon was dry. Only because we were starving after walking over 20km that day prevented us from returning the food and leaving the restaurant. We paid almost €60 for two dishes and two drinks and feel ripped off by the poor quality. No recommendation

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here and the service was quite rough. The outside area is directly on the street. There are a few dedicated free parking spaces

The BBQ bacon burger with fries was super tasty. Very tasty fries. You would have to pay extra for mayonnaise, ketchup or tartar sauce. Ordered fries as a children's plate and discovered that the fries were unfortunately just as salty on the children's plates as on the large plates. I think it could have been done differently. Rather expensive.

Excellent food, incredibly fast, attentive, friendly staff!!! The cordon bleu was handmade, very, very tender and delicious! The fried potatoes are nice and crispy and browned. The potato is very large with creamy quark. It wasn't the last time we were there! Great! The location on the main street is a bit noisy, but the operators can't help that. Dogs welcome.

The food was ok. If you compare the price/performance ratio with the surrounding dining establishments, you pay quite a lot for what is on offer. Regarding the service, it can be said that one service was perhaps a bit too little. At least you had to wait accordingly and actively express your wishes at the counter.

Delicious food and nice service

Sehr lecker zum Genießen. Wir hatten an einem Abend die Fischplatte für 2 Personen, die sehr reichlich an verschiedenen Edelfischen war. An einem weiteren Tag hatten wir Seelachs mit Senfkruste und Bratkartoffeln, sowie gefüllte Scholle mit Frühlingszwiebeln, Champions und Bratkartoffeln. Wieder sehr köstlich nach unserem Geschmack. Fleischgerichte hatten wir keine, da es für uns im Urlaub an Nordsee und Ostsee nur Fisch gibt. Schmeckt eben anders als zu Hause.

The promising dish “De Wattlöper” did not convince us. The highly praised lobster sauce was like pudding and had no taste. The fine fillet pieces from the fish platter were very dry. You didn't get the feeling that the fish products were fresh. The curry soup beforehand was far too sweet, as if a pot of sugar had been added. All in all very disappointing as we drove 30 minutes to eat there and it ended up being very expensive.

Sehr nettes u aufmerksames Personal. Hatten Trotz der Saison Plätze noch frei Großzügige Karte, für jedermann etwas dabei. Essen kam schnell und hat super geschmeckt! Kann man auf jeden Fall empfehlen - auch mit Kindern!

Food at its best. There were two of us eating, we had a salad plate with salmon and North Sea crabs as a starter, the main course was a gyro pan and a chicken BBQ burger with fries. Reasonable waiting time, very courteous service and very tasty food. Portions were also large. Price - performance top

Food was good, my pike perch was a bit dry

Unfortunately we weren't happy with the food. We had the Wattlöper platter with game fish fillets, parsley potatoes, lobster sauce and extra fried potatoes. All fish fillets were tender/dry and tasteless. The lobster sauce was more like pudding in consistency and had zero flavor. The parsley potatoes had butter and parsley but no salt. Unfortunately we were disappointed and said so. They apologized and said they had passed it on. However, we don't think that sichtetest will change. Hopefully though. The restaurant occupancy (very low) allows some conclusions to be drawn. Shame, shame, shame! We regret not being able to rate it more positively!

Attentive and friendly, food OK, had the regionally well-known Frisian dish HUNTER SCHNITZEL PLAICE. It's been fine so far.

We had been here once last year and were very impressed by the quality of the dishes. Local products, lovingly prepared and of high quality. The prices are higher than usual in the area, but justified for the service. The service was attentive and quick, reserved but polite. This year I was convinced again. Recommended in our case. The cordon bleu and the fish plate were eaten :)

Went here two years ago and was very happy with the food and service back then. Same portion size (more than enough), a lot of homemade food, like the cordon bleue in the photo, nice and attentive service. Unfortunately, many restaurants in Norddeich have suffered a significant decline in quality in recent years, especially when it comes to the increasing use of convenience products. This store is definitely not one of them. Gladly again.

We received a warm welcome here at 8:30 p.m. Warm food would still be possible. The food was so so delicious. The beef steak was very tender and tasty! And I have rarely eaten such delicious and crispy sweet potato fries. Not everyone gets it. Here already! My pasta was enough for two days. Breakfast buffet is offered from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. We didn't attend as we had other plans. Thanks for the friendly service!

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here at all. The food was overall tasteless. Given the price, you would at least expect some love in the preparation. Fried potatoes didn't seem seasoned at all and the 2 mini pieces of onion were lost. The fish with the supposed herbal mustard sauce was also nothing special. The drink prices are also very high. The staff is untrained but nice.

The price of the food offered is disproportionate. The schnitzel is placed on the almost entirely black side in the hope that the guest won't notice. Furthermore, the Viennese style schnitzel was dry for almost 20 euros. The pork fillet was almost only grilled on one side and was very dry. The fillet was completely gray inside. The fried potatoes were mushy and saw little to no salt or pepper. Over 7 euros for a small salad consisting of 80% iceberg lettuce, a few carrots, coleslaw and cucumbers is too much. A dressing is served with it, which couldn't be more boring. The Hollandaise sauce tastes like the well-known product that everyone uses to quickly conjure up a sauce. After being asked whether they were satisfied, the staff was unable to address or respond to the criticism mentioned. The employee just left the table and never came back; instead, someone else came with the bill. A few years ago the quality of the food and service was significantly better. The only positive thing was the situation - but nobody can do anything about it.

We enjoyed being here every holiday - but not anymore. First of all, it was said that high chairs were not allowed outside. After a long wait for the food, my dish arrived wrong, that can happen, but I then waited over 10 minutes for my new dish. Steak was well done and tough, baked potato only lukewarm. Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time for everything. Unfortunately no recommendation (anymore).

After a nice island vacation, we felt hungry and thought my wife would do something good for us and we would go to the wattlooper to eat something. The starter was a gem salad which consisted of 90% iceberg, accompanied by a spoonful of carrot salad and cabbage salad. Since you're not stingy, you get two slices of tomatoes and 2 cucumbers on top for the low price of €7.20... The conclusion will probably still be an organic winter salad. Also a tasteless dressing. In the main course the grill pan. A piece of loin, neck and back. All in all 150 grams. Beaten flat and pre-fried at lunchtime. In the evening it was in my grill pan. Luckily for me, the beans were quite juicy and the fried potatoes weren't crispy, otherwise I would have suffered from mild dehydration. The aperitif lasted throughout all courses because the service was so concerned about its guests that it was able to set up the breakfast dishes in the empty restaurant. He was so considerate not to disturb our conversation that he didn't even ask if everything was okay. When I was clearing away the food, I was told that the meat was dry, but I didn't take any notice of it so as not to bother the kitchen. Not again so soon

Poor value for money and old-fashioned

Das Hähnchen-Curry schmeckte verdorben, das Obst und die Soße schmeckten muffig. Der entsprechende Hinweis wurde schweigend von der Bedienung zur Kenntnis genommen. Es erfolgte auch keine Reaktion oder Nachfrage.

Plaice Finkenwerder style: The potatoes resembled projectiles and were rock hard. The plaice had a watery, slimy consistency and tasted like water (probably thawed frozen goods). Overall, it was an expensive disappointment, not recommended.

Wir waren innerhalb einer Woche 4 x dort essen , das sagt wohl alles über das hervorragende Essen aus . Bedienung schnell und sehr freundlich , Reservierungen klappten sehr gut und das Essen unglaublich schmackhaft , immer !

Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend. Das Essen (Holzfällersteak mit Bratkartoffeln) ziemlich fettig, ansonsten einigermaßen o.k. Aber was sich eine der Bedienungen geleistet hat, geht mal gar nicht. Kein Gruß am Anfang. Als sie mir die Vorsuppe brachte kein „Guten Appetit“. Das Hauptgericht brachte mir dann ihr Kollege, für den dieser Wunsch augenscheinlich das war, was er in der Gastronomie immer sein sollte, nämlich eine Selbstverständlichkeit. Als ich dann mit Essen fertig war, räumte sie wortlos ab. „Hat es Ihnen geschmeckt?“ - Fehlanzeige. Außerdem war sie die ganze Zeit permanent am husten und gehörte offensichtlich nach Hause ins Bett und nicht an ihren Arbeitsplatz, erst recht nicht in einem Gastronomiebetrieb. Sollte ich nochmals nach Norddeich kommen weiß ich jetzt zumindest, wo ich nicht mehr essen werde.

Essen und Service wirklich top. Sogar unser Hund durfte mit. Eine Reservierung würde ich aber vorab immer empfehlen.

Das Essen war gut. Es war kein Problem Bratkartoffeln anstatt Kartoffeln mit Holo zu meinen Schollenfilets zu bekommen. Durch die sommerlichen Temperaturen war es schön abends noch draußen zu essen. Der Service war sehr gut, trotz der vielen Gästen draußen.

Das Restaurant mit einem interessanten Konzept. Erst die negativen Sachen: Essen geschmacklich okay (nichts besonderes). Die Soßen haben teilweise nicht hausgemacht geschmeckt. Das Hähnchen geschnetzelte war recht schnell kalt, da kalte Dosen Ananas auf das Gericht gegeben wurde. Das Ambiente ist leider garnicht schön. Der Service ist dagegen jedoch sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant könnte trotz der Kritik auch für den ein oder andere das richtige sein. Es verfügt nähmich über eine sehr breit gefächerte Speißekarte, bei der jeder das richtige findet. Gerade wenn man auf die Fähre nach Norderney wartet und ein zwei Stunden aufenthalt in Norddeich hat, kann man hier gut einkehren, auch mit Familie und Kindern. Wenn man normales Essen erwartet ist man daher hier gut aufgehoben.

Vor Jahren haben wir schon mal dort gehalten, da war das Essen dort lecker. Dieses Mal war es leider kaum gewürzt und sehr fettig, geschmacklos und lag uns auf der Rückfahrt von Norderney schwer im Magen.

Sehr lecker und reichhaltiges Essen. Terrasse und Innenbereich sind angenehm zum sitzen. Mit Decken bei kühleren Wetter auf der Terasse lässt es sich gut aushalten. Preise sind durchschnittlich, die Speisekarte hat eine gute Auswahl. Parkplätze sind am Straßenrand und Behinderten gerechter Eingang ist gegeben.
