Very romantic place....... Everything seemed to fit perfectly, and yet it didn't feel that way...

Very nice facility (goods in the garden). The food is beautifully prepared, but the quantity is a bit small for the price (here: Caesar's Salad). All in all, a nice stop in the middle of the large garden.

It's a beautiful place. Very stylishly furnished. And beautiful to dream about.

Even though there were 10 of us, a waitress made it possible for us to sit at a large table. Friendly staff who were able to fulfill our special requests. Thank you very much!

Even without a reservation we got a table for 2 people.

Best starting point for walking around the Three Peaks. However, a good level of fitness and endurance is advisable for these approximately 10 kilometers.

Went on a recommendation, unfortunately for the wrong food. Sunday brunch - not recommended at all, disappointing for us. 42.00 euros is a proud price, drinks on top except for a glass of Prosecco, not even a carafe of water on the buffet. Food, including dessert glasses, sits on the buffet for 4 hours without any refrigeration (these days there are good options even for home use) at very high temperatures inside and out. You could avoid queues at the buffet if there are other seating options. The selection and taste also didn't convince us. Still a very nice place, the service here is also really top! It's a shame that the two don't go together.

08/20/24 My visit in the afternoon was preceded by a table reservation for 3 people. We consumed drinks and ice cream. After a while we were asked by a service employee to pay because this table was supposedly reserved for other guests. However, at that time the majority of the tables in the outdoor area were free. We were not offered any of the free tables either. We left the restaurant with incomprehension and absolute outrage.

Very nice ambience in the outdoor area with a view of the lake. Friendly service and delicious food. The restaurant is worth a visit.

You only get space if you have the right nose. Apparently it was reserved. Others after me didn't reserve and got the table they wanted! 👎

There is no reasonable relationship between price and performance. The prices quoted suggest a meal of a very high level in terms of taste and appearance. However, only average restaurant food was offered.

My award of 5 stars says it all. Great service with wit and competence. Always up for a joke, yet technically perfect, friendly, committed and not a tiring person. Simply great. In a solution-oriented manner, the table reserved for us was repositioned at our request. The food is of high quality and very nicely decorated. Not just for the eye but also for the palate and for the heart. Plus the view of the lake with fountains, romantic willows, ducks frolicking on the pond. Here you can relax nicely. Only recommended. We like to come here again and again.

Nice place to stay. We only had a beer after a walk with the dog, but the staff were friendly and the beer with service and 0.5 l was the same price as another provider in the large garden with 0.4 l and self-service. We'd love to come back.

For me a very nice restaurant with an exceptionally great view. Very idyllic, the outside terrace is fantastic.

It may be that this is a nice place to stay. That the champagne elite meet there... but I found the service to be subpar that evening. A drink, then no one came, a ragout fin, quite tasty... but apparently there were no spoons. That's how it is sometimes with expectations and reality.

Beautiful restaurant right by the lake in Großer Garten. They had quite a few interesting menu, I ordered Tartar vom Sherrymatjes and it was really tasty! There were kids menu and kids enjoyed their food too.

The service was great and friendly, the atmosphere amazing. What I didn't like was the food. The fries were overcooked and dry. Expected more for this price and so many Michelin stars. To be honest, this looks more like a place for sweet and coffee/cocktail/wine and maybe some starters as far as I'm concerned. Maybe we made a mistake ordering the Schnitzel, but none of the other dishes attracted us. The dish with the chicken was too spicy and was a very small portion of meat. For that price, again, we expected more.

The ambience is really great, but you shouldn't rest on your laurels. The customer service question as to whether I would like my veal liver medium could have been avoided. You cannot fry the “thin shreds” until medium rare. Instead, they were killed by stewed onions, apples and pointed cabbage. A small filling side dish was sought in vain. Very weak for €27. Luckily we had a voucher, otherwise we would have been even more annoyed.

Unfortunately I can't agree with most of the good comments. We wanted to eat there today because of the extremely large number of wasps inside. This was rejected, which was incomprehensible to us, especially since the outdoor area was only about a third full. We always like to stop at the Carolaschlösschen because the cuisine is very good and therefore a little more expensive. Obviously you don't have to rely on customers there. The map is well stocked for a break on a hike through the Great Garden, but clearly too expensive! There is nothing here to suit the everyday palate and the prices for the drinks will make you sweat from your pores! The better-off should stay to themselves, which is probably what they want. Well then - enjoy your meal!

Quite a nice location for celebrating or just getting something to eat. I was told by colleagues that brunch should also be quite good. Personally, I can't say much about the culinary side as we're mostly there to celebrate. Thursday is reserved for this. In the heart of the Great Garden, the lungs of Dresden, you can party comfortably 🏰🌳🍹

The “Carolaschlösschen” restaurant in the middle of the “Great Garden” has a certain charm. When the weather is nice, you can sit comfortably outside and enjoy the restaurant garden directly on Lake Carola. The prices for food and drinks are certainly not suitable for everyone, as they are already in a higher segment. It's not a beer garden for large families and hikers, but you can chat in peace, the service staff is attentive but not "intrusive". Anyone who appreciates this and can/want to spend a few euros more will feel comfortable.

We were there for the first time today. Unfortunately the reception was very unfriendly. We had reserved a table and the gentleman (slicked-back hair, glasses) at reception offered us a table outside. Unfortunately it rained and two chairs were left in the rain. A nice colleague reacted quickly and simply offered us another table. The gentleman at the reception came to us at some point and very, very rudely pointed out to us that the table was actually reserved and that this wouldn't work. Unfortunately this didn't make you feel very welcome... Unfortunately, the food overall wasn't convincing in all respects and it took a long time until the main courses were served. The atmosphere was very nice and it was comfortable to sit.

So who doesn't get enough? Ate for almost 3 hours Once through the entire buffet 😁

Food far too expensive for the small portions. 20 percent less and everything tastes great and ok. Well, you pay for the ambience...

I have been a guest here many times and have mostly had good experiences. The building is simply great and the operators do a solid job.

Nice place with a view of the lake, menu without prices, stressed service with rude comments even though there was nothing going on. Food is ok but the compositions take some getting used to. Prices are hefty and not in relation to the offer.

Ordered seats for dinner. These were directly on Lake Carola. Food and drinks prepared great and tasty. We would love to come back to the terrace garden.

Nice outside area and good food

Today my wife and I wanted to stop in the garden of the restaurant. There were several free tables by the water without reservation signs! When asked, in an almost GDR-like manner and tone, a waiter said that the table we were going to was reserved and showed us to a table that was already 1/4 in the sun. We thought we had left this kind of instruction behind us with the GDR. Of course we left and won't be visiting this restaurant again anytime soon. We are very sorry about this, especially because we celebrated my wife's big birthday with a nice brunch in 2023. Dr. J. Richter

Service unfortunately inattentive! would have liked to sit at the table/by the water, but was refused because one side was supposedly already closed. 2 minutes later others were seated at the table where we would have liked to sit. Has a very bitter aftertaste. They were also more likely to be served and other tables. After a while we had to call a waiter. It really doesn't work at all. How to place your own guests and then forget about them. Unfortunately we couldn't leave a tip for the service. Nevertheless, super nice location, we can't judge the food and will definitely try it again later in the hope that the service will be better next time. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance 😉

Romantically located at the Carolateich. Fine cuisine, but the waiting times can be improved. 45 minutes is hefty.

We were here spontaneously today. We wanted to sit by the water. Unfortunately we were directed to another table with the information that the places by the water were already “closed”. (The question is: what is the difference if I serve the customer at another table that is 5 m further away instead of just letting the customer sit at a table by the water and on a warm summer day I have to do it all the more expect this and also offer customers the opportunity to sit by the water…). Unfortunately we sat for ages without being served. Meanwhile, two other customers came and were allowed to sit exactly where we actually wanted to sit... At some point we approached another waiter ourselves. Even after our drink, no one came to us to ask whether we were satisfied or whether we would like another drink. Very disappointing and unfortunate. Especially as an owner, the whole thing would upset me if my employees were so unfocused, inexperienced and inattentive (at least in relation to this one MA). Last time, although the location is generally good.

We were there yesterday on June 23rd, 2024 and were not completely satisfied. Invoice number 40048. In our opinion, the price-performance ratio was NOT right. The ambience is really nice. The service was also quite nice. Only when we asked whether there was also mashed potatoes or mashed potatoes with the liver, the answer was, we don't have anything like that and we were offered French fries with it! Oh well … The quality of the food was partly/partly. The risotto (20.60 €) was really good, the veal schnitzel (29.90 € plus 0.80 € for the mayonnaise) not so much, and the fried corn-fed chicken (26.60 €) was also very well decorated and prepared, But the taste wasn't justified for the price, and the portion was also quite small. As for the drinks, the Sarti Spritz was very good, but the Cuba Libre was really bad. For €9 you had cola with ice cubes... We had called in advance and reserved a table and asked whether the European Championship soccer game Switzerland vs. Germany would also be broadcast. The answer was NO. At around 8:00 p.m. the boss turned on the big TV, but only for selected guests/friends, whatever. There were definitely enough seats, but probably no normal guests were welcome.

Very stylishly decorated restaurant. Map is clear, but no direction I can see. Food was very tasty and portions were large. Starter is more of a main course. I wouldn't order a starter and main course together in a restaurant. Prices are above average. Service was quick and informative. We went for lunch during the week.

There are definitely two stars for the location and the nice service. The rest was unfortunately disappointing. We had made a reservation for 6:15 p.m. and well after 8 p.m. our partially cold food was served one after the other. A dish was forgotten and prepared later. The reason for the delays was the wedding party. We were later told that the food is of course freshly prepared and therefore takes a certain amount of time, apparently two hours for 8 people. The following note: The beer garden was half empty and there were still a few free tables inside. The exquisite menu and the considerable prices gave hope for a feast. Unfortunately the food was nothing more than okay.

What a beautiful place and what a great balanced menu. I was here for work with colleagues and we really enjoyed our stay and the food. The service was good, friendly and uncomplicated, as well as attentive. The ambience inside and outside is very nice. The water sounds of the fountain in particular conjure up a relaxed atmosphere. The menu changes regularly and offers regular guests a pleasant variety, although the offering is manageable but impresses with its high quality. We were all very satisfied and enjoyed the food very much. Highly Recommended!

Today we had the pleasure of being able to visit Carolaschlösschen branches. It was sensational. Everything was great, service totally relaxed, nice, courteous. The only thing I noticed was that you had to wait a long time for the coffee, but otherwise everything was perfect. Keep it up!!!👍🏻

We haven't been here for a long time and will definitely come back! There was a large company in the restaurant, and everything outside was full, but the service staff still gave us a table. The strawberry lemonade was very refreshing, the food was very tasty and prepared with a lot of creativity. The service was busy but still very friendly! The outdoor area was decorated with a lot of love and it is wonderful to sit there with a view of Lake Carola. Everything in the restaurant is also stylishly furnished. The cake at the buffet looked delicious, but unfortunately we were already full. Afterwards a little round in the large garden... a wonderful evening! Thanks!

I can highly recommend the brunch, very nice selection and nice atmosphere. Yesterday I was there with friends at lunchtime and was very disappointed. After we ordered drinks we were not noticed for at least half an hour to order something to eat. All other guests in the area without a reservation outside felt the same way. After we ordered, we waited between half an hour and an hour for our food, with our food being brought to each one individually, with long intervals in between. None of us had ordered a main course. Not even the cake could be brought at the same time. The highlight was that I ordered cake, as it said in the display, and got cake. At first the waiter didn't even know why poppy seed cake was suddenly there and then I was fobbed off with the excuse that the display only said "almond poppy seed cake" because there was no sign for the poppy seed crumb cake. There was clearly a cake in the display with almonds on top and not a poppy seed crumble cake. If it could take longer, you could say so in advance and not avoid the table like the dirty dishes. We didn't feel welcome. Apparently we were also forgotten, because between our order and the serving we were asked again by another waiter whether we would also like to order something to eat, to which we replied that the order had already been placed three quarters of an hour ago. The waiter replied that all the chefs were smoking and that all the dishes were made with love. It was about two starters.

After today's - very negative experience - in the "Sommercafé am Palaisteich" (without ordering food and being thrown out!), we stopped at the Carolaschlösschen. Many thanks to the restaurant manager for the friendly welcome, which we desperately needed. The food was fresh, tasteful and of very good overall quality. The staff is more than aware of their important role with the guests and is friendly. We would like to come again! Highly recommended.

We celebrated our daughter's birth with 16 people in the Carolaschlösschen. The table was beautifully set, lunch and coffee were delicious. Our personal waitress was very nice and took great care of us! Everything was great and we can warmly recommend the Carolaschlösschen!!! Thank you very much ☺️

Before the concert in the young guard we stopped here to have something to eat and drink. We were able to sit outside nicely. The first look at the menu revealed that it would be a bit more expensive. But you have to say that the dishes tasted great and were well prepared. Otherwise the service was very friendly and quick. Even where the heavy rain came, we were allowed to stay until it stopped.

The ambience is really nice, but you're looking for an upscale class and the toilet paper is subpar, single-ply newspaper is fine. Food isn't worth much for a 40€ brunch, for that kind of money you can definitely eat better and have more choice and higher quality products. The decoration is nice, but there are a lot of cheap products. A pity!

Wonderful place to have a little drink in the evening. There was an event going on when we visited. Nevertheless, we were not sent away but served as normal. That was very pleasant.

Because of the many people in the The restaurant was a bit chaotic at times, but the service staff had everything under control. The huge buffet was beautifully prepared and the food - whether warm or cold - tasted great.

My parents had booked a table here. We went straight to the restaurant specifically for this and ordered directly on the spot. But the table wasn't reserved when we got here. That was okay because there was still a lot free and we were allowed to choose the table. The staff was really nice. The drinks came very quickly. But everyone around us got their food, even though some of them arrived after us and therefore ordered later. Then, after over an hour, our food finally arrived...however, I had ordered wild garlic ravioli with green asparagus and pine nuts and only found a piece of asparagus on my plate and zero pine nuts. In my opinion, for 14.80, 8 pieces of ravioli on the plate is not really a reasonable price. The waitress was very understanding and offered us coffee in return. That was still the last time for me. We were always here in the warm months when I visited my parents. I'd rather go to another restaurant in the future.
