Restaurant Carolaschlösschen in Dresden

We have always experienced very good service here, thank you to the service. We have always eaten very well here, unfortunately this time it didn't work out so well, my veal schnitzel was tough... yes, my complaint was accepted accordingly and the service responded very well. We also understood that we had an unusual wait for our food. We apologized, it was fine with us, we wanted to spend a lot of time enjoying the evening here. I liked the previous menu and food offerings better.

Eleven of us went to the Carolaschlösschen for Sunday brunch at 11 a.m. and it was a thoroughly successful day. The buffet was perfect, there was also enough choice for vegetarians. The only note about the process: we had to wait several times for the service staff or then speak to them ourselves. Towards the end, around 1 p.m., the staff were busy cleaning up all around, which was quite disturbing.

We had reserved a table for a larger celebration on Saturday. The kitchen and service staff were hopelessly overwhelmed with the reservations and day-to-day business. From the time we ordered the food, we had to wait around 1 1/2 hours (!) for it... In addition, reservations are only accepted if we guarantee a minimum purchase of 35 euros, which is not a problem given the high price segment of the food, but that should be the case the quality is right (risotto with truffles, but these were missing, strawberry-mint lemonade sometimes with 1 strawberry, sometimes none, sometimes 3-4 pieces) and of course the service in general. There wasn't even an excuse for all of this... Conclusion: Never again!!

Nice historical place. A bit far from the city center. Very well maintained and friendly service as well as very tasty food. Upscale price range.

Great imaginative and high quality food, in a very nice atmosphere, with a friendly and very attentive staff. We regularly have dinner here with our business partners.

About drive-in, that's complete nonsense and where are there free parking spaces nearby? You can park on the street but there is no signposted parking lot... If you have to lie in your Google ad, that's really not possible !

Nice place to stay. We only had a beer after a walk with the dog, but the staff were friendly and the beer with service and 0.4 l was the same price as another provider in the large garden with 0.4 l and self-service. We'd love to come back.

We went for brunch! I was missing a schnitzel or something similar for the children! But desserts and cakes etc. everything was great!!

The food is a bit special and not enough appealing little things are offered. The seasoned meat should also be available in small pieces, otherwise there will be too much and very expensive. The strawberry tiramisu is quite a mess and unappetizing to look at. Otherwise, the Carolaschlösschen is beautiful and the staff is great. 👍🤗

Pleasant interior design, unfortunately the babble of voices is a bit too loud, could perhaps be reduced with sound reduction elements.

The acoustics were quite loud when the Grand Café was full. It could be dampened by textiles (e.g. curtains at the top of the windows) or other sound-absorbing options. Otherwise, my guests and I really enjoyed our stay with you.

Had lunch with a large family in a cozy atmosphere. Not the first time. Always been satisfied.

Too crowded and loud for family celebrations. No separate rooms. Finding parking was difficult.

In the evening outside with the dog, in the rain. In the park. Hunger. Where? There is a beer garden to be seen...Finally there. In the Carolaschlösschen. We were surprised. Friendly welcome even with dogs. Quiet table for two. Dog underneath...light music in the background. Food super tasty. Drinks surprising. Great selection of non-alcoholic drinks...the homemade lemonade, simply heavenly. Unfortunately we are only here in Dresden for a few days. But we'll definitely eat here again one of these days. We're looking forward to that...

Yesterday we were guests at the Carolaschlösschen. The occasion was our wedding. It was a beautifully decorated table. The service was also great. Food topped it all. All guests were very satisfied! It's always worth recommending, for example the brunch :-)

PURE disappointment! As a starter I chose stuffed gnocchi with chanterelles, truffles and black garlic. I didn't taste any of the truffle or black garlic. Too bad. However, it looked very tasty on the plate. To the main course. Duroc pork chop with pointed cabbage and Boskop apple. The pointed cabbage tasted like overcooked vine cabbage, garnished with equally overcooked corn!!! What does corn have to do with a cabbage side dish? Tarragon was certainly out that evening and the potato crust was more of a simple mashed potato. Only the meat was Duroc pork and was very juicy. Unfortunately, spices were saved overall, as was salt. Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed. Either you had to explain that Augustiner Bier Hell was on offer, because the waitress didn't know whether this beer was even available, or on the other hand you were offered a vermouth instead of a beer. People... people, people. We had a reservation for 19 people and they insisted on a minimum consumption of 35 euros. Apart from the fact that we all paid an average of 50 euros plus, the demand is an outrage in terms of service. On the other hand, it should be noted that the Carolaschlößchen lives up to all GERMAN honors. Initially they completely insisted that our group sit at tables of four. Our request to put the tables together was initially categorically rejected.

It was our first time there and we really liked it. Hello and food was very good. A trip with children is also highly recommended.👍👍👍👍👍

We didn't find the menu very appealing. The prices are too expensive and the staff is not adequate to the high prices. (Friendliness and professionalism). The food and the homemade drinks surprised us positively.

We ordered two soft ice creams in a “small” cup for our children. €6 and the sprinkles are an additional €0.50. Regardless of the increased costs, this is already extremely overpriced. Especially since the ice cream is almost certainly not produced itself, but is just a powder that is mixed with water or milk in the machine.

We had a great place and were very well served and looked after! It was an experience for us!

We can't rate the food, unfortunately the kitchen was already closed. But really great...... we'll be back

Went to the garden party today. The reception was very friendly and accommodating. An aperitif would be served as a welcome and you would be shown to the square. We also received a warm welcome from the staff. The service staff are simply a great team. Friendliness was very important to everyone. Keep it up. Will come again.

Very romantic place....... Everything seemed to fit perfectly, and yet it didn't feel that way...

After a really friendly phone call, we got a table in the Carolaschlösschen very easily. Once there, we had the most beautiful table directly overlooking the water. The food was perfect and the drinks were also really enjoyable. I will definitely come back!

Hardly any gluten-free dishes possible, that was a shame, but the restaurant can't help it that I'm sick, but I hope that more happens in the future 🙏🏻

All in all very good. Only the toilets (ladies) need to be checked more and kept clean.

Very nice facility (goods in the garden). The food is beautifully prepared, but the quantity is a bit small for the price (here: Caesar's Salad). All in all, a nice stop in the middle of the large garden.

Best starting point for walking around the Three Peaks. However, a good level of fitness and endurance is advisable for these approximately 10 kilometers.

Went on a recommendation, unfortunately for the wrong food. Sunday brunch - not recommended at all, disappointing for us. 42.00 euros is a proud price, drinks on top except for a glass of Prosecco, not even a carafe of water on the buffet. Food, including dessert glasses, sits on the buffet for 4 hours without any refrigeration (these days there are good options even for home use) at very high temperatures inside and out. You could avoid queues at the buffet if there are other seating options. The selection and taste also didn't convince us. Still a very nice place, the service here is also really top! It's a shame that the two don't go together.

08/20/24 My visit in the afternoon was preceded by a table reservation for 3 people. We consumed drinks and ice cream. After a while we were asked by a service employee to pay because this table was supposedly reserved for other guests. However, at that time the majority of the tables in the outdoor area were free. We were not offered any of the free tables either. We left the restaurant with incomprehension and absolute outrage.

There is no reasonable relationship between price and performance. The prices quoted suggest a meal of a very high level in terms of taste and appearance. However, only average restaurant food was offered.

My award of 5 stars says it all. Great service with wit and competence. Always up for a joke, yet technically perfect, friendly, committed and not a tiring person. Simply great. In a solution-oriented manner, the table reserved for us was repositioned at our request. The food is of high quality and very nicely decorated. Not just for the eye but also for the palate and for the heart. Plus the view of the lake with fountains, romantic willows, ducks frolicking on the pond. Here you can relax nicely. Only recommended. We like to come here again and again.

Our service was already excellent. The first positive experience then continued throughout the entire visit. The service and the food were simply top!!! Here the slightly higher price is really passed on into an experience for the customer.

For me a very nice restaurant with an exceptionally great view. Very idyllic, the outside terrace is fantastic.

The service was great and friendly, the atmosphere amazing. What I didn't like was the food. The fries were overcooked and dry. Expected more for this price and so many Michelin stars. To be honest, this looks more like a place for sweet and coffee/cocktail/wine and maybe some starters as far as I'm concerned. Maybe we made a mistake ordering the Schnitzel, but none of the other dishes attracted us. The dish with the chicken was too spicy and was a very small portion of meat. For that price, again, we expected more.

It may be that this is a nice place to stay. That the champagne elite meet there... but I found the service to be subpar that evening. A drink, then no one came, a ragout fin, quite tasty... but apparently there were no spoons. That's how it is sometimes with expectations and reality.

Beautiful restaurant right by the lake in Großer Garten. They had quite a few interesting menu, I ordered Tartar vom Sherrymatjes and it was really tasty! There were kids menu and kids enjoyed their food too.

The ambience is really great, but you shouldn't rest on your laurels. The customer service question as to whether I would like my veal liver medium could have been avoided. You cannot fry the “thin shreds” until medium rare. Instead, they were killed by stewed onions, apples and pointed cabbage. A small filling side dish was sought in vain. Very weak for €27. Luckily we had a voucher, otherwise we would have been even more annoyed.

Unfortunately I can't agree with most of the good comments. We wanted to eat there today because of the extremely large number of wasps inside. This was rejected, which was incomprehensible to us, especially since the outdoor area was only about a third full. We always like to stop at the Carolaschlösschen because the cuisine is very good and therefore a little more expensive. Obviously you don't have to rely on customers there. The map is well stocked for a break on a hike through the Great Garden, but clearly too expensive! There is nothing here to suit the everyday palate and the prices for the drinks will make you sweat from your pores! The better-off should stay to themselves, which is probably what they want. Well then - enjoy your meal!

Quite a nice location for celebrating or just getting something to eat. I was told by colleagues that brunch should also be quite good. Personally, I can't say much about the culinary side as we're mostly there to celebrate. Thursday is reserved for this. In the heart of the Great Garden, the lungs of Dresden, you can party comfortably 🏰🌳🍹
