The food and service is top. I would happily recommend it

I used to be a big fan of this restaurant, but unfortunately my last visit was disappointing. When we sat down and the waitress came, we all said a friendly “Hello” – but she didn’t even respond. She seemed stressed, even though it wasn't particularly crowded. The service overall was inattentive and uninviting. The food wasn't convincing either. The quality and taste used to be significantly better. I don't know if anything has changed, but it was no longer the restaurant I so appreciated. Unfortunately I won't be coming back again.

Food was not as stated in the menu and when asked it was said that it was supposed to be that way and what was in the menu was optional. Both meals were only cold to lukewarm. We had to wait over 40 minutes for the food even though there was very little going on at the time. Then pay again. There was no hospitality either. The staff is totally overloaded or overwhelmed.

The Diwan Restaurant is an absolute must for anyone who loves authentic oriental cuisine! The dishes are not only a visual highlight, but also simply perfect in terms of taste. The Mende rice and grilled meat in particular are incredibly tasty – spicy, juicy and cooked just right. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is super friendly and the service is top notch. Whether for a relaxed dinner or a special meal with friends and family - you will feel welcome here. Definitely a recommendation! 10/10 – I'll be back! 🍽️🔥

Excellent restaurant, outstanding service and delicious food. We tried different dishes and everything was very tasty and prepared with a lot of care. Best Syrian Food in Dresden.

Really bad. We waited about 40 minutes for the food, although the restaurant was almost empty. You order one dish and get something else on your plate. I ordered Fattah because I wanted to try something new. In the end there were cashews instead of the promised almonds (good thing I don't have an allergy). Tomato wasn't included, and minced meat had to be ordered separately, as it turns out, even though "minced beef" is listed second among the ingredients. When I asked where the missing ingredients were, I was told "yes, the dish is actually served like this. If you want, we can add a tomato on top. You have to order minced meat separately, but it is basically vegetarian". Yes, maybe, I have no idea what the dish is supposed to look like. However, a certain degree of consistency with the menu is normally to be expected in the restaurant... The staff is also totally overloaded, we had to wait quite a long time before we could pay.

We had never eaten Syrian before and were very positively surprised by the composition of the different dishes. We would love to come back :-))

Even though the food actually tasted good, for the price it could have been warm. The portion was also too small. The starters are not worth the money. We won't come here anymore. Cash only is a bit strange...

I ordered Maklouba, a traditional Palestinian/ Arabic dish. The taste was good, that being said, the dish can be bigger ! I recommend 🙋🏻‍♂️

Super tasty, very nice, fast and courteous service. The meals were freshly prepared. The menu offers a number of vegetarian and meat-based Syrian dishes. Definitely recommended.

The two of us ate here today and got a seat even without a reservation. The atmosphere is nice and the music isn't too intrusive. The waiter was very friendly. Our starter - fried beef was unfortunately still frozen inside but was replaced without any problems. The main courses, on the other hand, were very tasty. You couldn't pay by card. A sign or information would be good here.

I have always tried Arabic Imbisses but never tried a restaurant. Hence, tried something new. The interior is nice and looks good in general but there were only four tables occupied from atleast 20 tables on a Friday evening. So, I was missing the restaurant vibe a bit. Also meant that I got my food fast. My friend and I ordered home made lemonade, and it was a good pick for a warm summer evening. For food, I took a kebap mix and my friend ordered Marrusch. Both of us felt like the level of spice was dialled down but it was tasty. Which not uncommon in Europe for any Asian cuisuines but what made us a bit dissatisfied was the amount of food. From Dresden's perspective, the restaurant's menu is not cheap thats for sure. Which is fine by me, but in an Arabic or Indian restaurant I expect my tummy to be filled, no matter what I am paying. That's kind of a part of the food culture. Anyways, the service was nice, so I am giving them a five star there.

Absolutely amazing grilled meat dishes, as well as speciality dishes. Everything we ordered was fresh and super tasty. On top of that - such warm and friendly service 🫶🫶🫶

This was my second time as a guest, the first time was a few years ago and I remembered a pretty positive experience. However, my next visit left me a little disappointed. The warm starter plate (for what I thought was a generous price) was so small and sparsely topped (less than in the photos here on Google) that I was initially confused as to whether a mistake had been made. The dishes were then lukewarm and the taste was not entirely convincing. The avocado salad for almost the same price was quite a large portion and tasted quite good too. We drank two more teas, which were okay - my mint tea tasted quite bland. The service was passable, quite sober/reserved. All in all, I think there has been a lot of reduction/savings here since my first visit. It's actually a shame because the atmosphere is great and the restaurant has so much potential!

Great load. Without being able to judge it, it all felt very authentic. Gladly again. Beer is a bit expensive, but you can find something tasty to eat for under 20 euros. I ate something vegetarian myself. The meat dishes also looked very good.

Great experience. We had the cold starter to share which tasted great and was plenty. The bread was warm and the dips were all different and each tasted great. This was followed by a the main courses lamb kebab and the Maqlooba with beef. Both dishes, the meat just melted in your mouth and was a flavour explosion. Again portion size was plenty and we felt like we rolled back out of the place. Can only recommend this place.

Went here with my husband for Valentine's Day and I'm unfortunately a little disappointed with our visit. The atmosphere was very pleasant and there wasn't much going on, which I liked. The food and drinks were generally delicious, I love oriental cuisine. But the main course (had a plate for two) was lukewarm and was already brought where we ate the starters. My husband also ordered dumplings for dessert - in the end there was only one pocket on the plate. Unfortunately, service was cold and emotionless, not our cup of tea. Otherwise the price was quite ok.

It would have been nice if there had been an offer of a free glass of tea after the main course. The dessert (filled dumplings) served with a scoop of ice cream would have been nicer. Otherwise the food was delicious. Very suitable for vegetarians!!

In een levendige wijkvol jongeren in de neustadt zit dit syrische restaurant. Het is gezellig ingericht met lantaarns en kaarsjes op tafel. Wij namen mezze vooraf: hummus, heerlijke muhammara en 2 andere “smeersels” die ook erg lekker waren. Daarna hadden we resp een deegflapje met heerlijke kip, groenten en yoghurtsaus en mijn man groente met gehakt in een oosterse tomatensaus. Het was allemaal heerlijk, en ook nog zeer mild geprijsd ( €59, inclusief allebei 2 drankjes)Aan te raden!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Diwan, the Syrian restaurant in Dresden, and I must say, the food was absolutely outstanding! The flavors and aromas transported me to the heart of Syria. Every dish we tried was a delightful culinary journey. The service at Diwan was impeccable as well. The staff was attentive, friendly, and eager to make our dining experience enjoyable. They were more than willing to accommodate our dietary preferences and answered all our questions about the menu with a smile. However, there was one small hiccup in an otherwise perfect evening. Unfortunately, we were unable to pay for our meal using our credit card, as it was not accepted at Diwan. The restaurant only accepts German cards for payment. This was a bit inconvenient for us as tourists, but it’s something to keep in mind if you plan to dine at Diwan. Overall, I highly recommend Diwan for its exceptional Syrian cuisine and top-notch service. Just make sure you have cash or a German credit card handy to settle the bill. It’s definitely worth a visit for a taste of authentic Syrian flavors in the heart of Dresden!

Mein absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant um mit Familie oder Freunden essen zu gehen. Man kann sich viele kleine Schüsseln/Teller mit den verschiedensten Vor-und Hauptspeisen bringen lassen und dann wild durcheinander futtern. Oder einTellergericht wählen. Schmeckt lecker bis zum letzten Bissen. Die orientalische Art zu würzen ist der Hammer, nichts ist zu fettig. Freundliche, schnelle Bedienung und dafür dass alles frisch zubereitet wird, ist die Wartezeit nicht zu lang. Preislich absolut akzeptabel. Ich war sehr positiv überrascht von dem Restaurant, da ich nicht zu den jenigen gehöre die viel neues ausprobieren. Aber hier war ich froh das ich was neues ausprobiert habe. Ich kam ins Restaurant rein und habe mich sofort wohl gefühlt, das Ambiente hat mich sofort gefangen. Der Kellner war super freundlich und geduldig. 😃 Ich habe mir eine Spezi bestellt die frisch zusammen gemixt wurde (👍). Zum Essen gab es "Schiesch" Hühnchenspies auf Fladenbrot mit Hummus und Knoblauchcreme. Super lecker zu bereitet, das Fleisch war mega zart und saftig. Die meisten Hühnchenspiese die ich bis dato kannte waren leider sehr trocken. Aber hier das komplette Gegenteil. Soweit ich gesehen habe gab es alles Speisen auch als vegetarische Variante. Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen und auch sehr geschmeckt ich komme definitiv wieder. 🤤

Pierwszy raz próbowaliśmy kuchni syryjskiej. Było to dla na pozytywne zaskoczenie. Dania świeże, odpowiedniej wielkości, subtelnie doprawione. Polecam zestaw zimnych przekąsek. Mimo słabej znajomosci angielskiego obsługa uczynna i pomocna. Miła muzyka, czysto. Za przystawkę, napój i 2 główne Dania zapłaciliśmy ok 23 euro na osobe.

Sehr lieblose Vorspeisen, ich war total enttäuscht. Überteuerte Speisen.

Kleine Portionen, Kartoffeln noch roh in der Mitte und kaum gewürzt. Schade!

Sehr leckeres Essen mit tollen vegetarischen Alternativen. Service war ein bisschen dünn besetzt, aber Wartezeit trotzdem voll okay. Schönes Ambiente.

Essen war der totale Hammer! Ich kenne noch nicht viele syrische Lokale, aber mir hat das Essen hier insgesamt sehr gut gefallen, so dass ich ganz sicher zeitnah nochmal syrisch ausprobieren werde. Einziges Manko an dem Abend: 1 Gericht wurde erst einmal komplett vergessen, als wir Reis bestellt haben hat das mit dem Reis solange gedauert das wir mit dem Hauptgang fast fertig waren.

Hat wie in der Heimat geschmeckt. Gerne wieder!

Volle Punkte habt ihr euch verdient! Schönes Restaurant, das Essen war lecker, die Cocktails ebenso. Die Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken reicht absolut aus, das findet jeder was. Die Gestaltung der Preise ist fair und für das gebotene mehr als angemessen. Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es ausreichend (wenn man ggf. Bereit ist ein paar Schritte zu laufen)

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem guten syrischen Restaurant und dieses wurde mir empfohlen. Die Wahrheit war, dass ich nicht zufrieden war. Ich habe einen Teller für 2 Personen bestellt und es hat mir wirklich nicht gefallen. 2 Gemüse auf einem Teller mit 2 Personen Spieße. Nichts anderes. Nicht imm bisschen Brot oder zusätzliche Sauce. Ein extrem kleiner Teller für 2 Personen. Das Essen dauerte ungefähr 1 Stunde und es wäre schön, etwas arabische Musik im Ort zu haben und ein wenig umzugestalten. Ich mochte nicht.

Insgesamt wirklich ein tolles Restaurant. Das Essen ist klasse, scheckt super und man bekommt eine ordentliches Preis/ Leistung-Verhältnis. Auch als Vegetarierer bekommt man hier ein ordentliche Auswahl. Das Personal ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Immer ein Genuss. Man muss etwas Zeit mitbringen, da das Essen frisch und heiß serviert wird. Tolles Ambiente, mit genüsslich Speiß und Trank.

House red wine on point. Great size portions, halloumi, hummus, falafel all flawless. Lamb kebab delicious, well seasoned and with an excellent garlic cream. No English menu but that's what Google is for ;)

Der Preis ist einfach nicht angemessen. Wir essen tatsächlich nicht viel. Bei einer Grillplatte für zwei, für 35€, erwarte ich aber wenigstens zweierlei jeder Grillspezialität, und satt zu werden. Die Platte reicht nicht für zwei Personen, wenn man nicht gerade alleine und auf Diät ist. Vom Menü ließ sich leider auch kein Rückschluss auf die Menge treffen. Geschmacklich wirklich gut, Preis-Leistungs-mäßig würde ich aber definitiv abraten.

Wir haben mehrere Restaurants aus dem arabischen Raum um die Görlitzerstraße rum ausprobiert und dieses ist tatsächlich das Beste unserer Wahl. Das Essen ist frisch und nicht so fettig. Es ist traditionell syrische Küche. Das Restaurant ist sehr sauber und die Bedienung herzlich. Das gesamte Ambiente ist sehr schön. Toll, weiter so!

Essen war schmackhaft. Es hat uns etwas Gemütlichkeit gefehlt.

Sehr gutes Essen zu akzeptablen Preisen. Fast alles gibt's es auch als vegetarische Variante. Von ihnen etwas altbacken, aber sonst gemütlich. Abzug gibt es für den Service. Leider etwas langsam, so dass wir eine gefühlte Ewigkeit auf Getränke gewartet haben

War super lecker und ist eine Wiederholung wert! Einen Stern Abzug gibt es jedoch für den Service der uns sehr lange mit leeren Gläsern hat sitzen lassen ohne mal zu fragen ob wir noch was möchten.

Hübsches Lokal und gute Gerichte. Aber katastrophaler Service. Nachdem wir schon lange warteten, bis wir die Bestellung aufgeben konnten, warteten wir nochmal über 1/2 h auf die Getränke. Nix ausgefallenes- aus der Flasche ins Glas. Das Essen kam erst nach weit über 1h. Wir waren übrigens der 2. Tisch im ganzen Restaurant. Ein 3.Tisch hatte nach langem Warten schon genervt wieder den Laden verlassen. Auch, dass schon kurz nach der Bestellung die Musik endete, wurde erst kurz vorm Bezahlen bemerkt. Und was die Kellnerin die ganze Zeit hinterm Tresen stehend mit Blick starr auf ihre Hände tat, bleibt nur zu vermuten. Ein Schelm, der da einen wahnsinnig wichtigen Chat auf dem Smartphone vermuten würde

We ordered an appetizer, tea and two entrees, every bite was delicious and service was great! Highly would recommend to anyone in the area that would like a relaxing, and wonderful dining experience!

Äußerst leckerer Hummus! Bei den restlichen Gerichten hatten wir mehr (und einen größeren Unterschied zu einem Essen beim Imbiss) erwartet. Dafür fanden wir es überteuert. Atmosphäre sehr schön, aber langsamer Service.

Nice interior and ambiance, and friendly staff. The food was very good but for a slightly above average price. The Tabbouleh should have more olive oil and lemon juice, but the Makloubeh was super good.

Wir haben zwei Gerichte zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Wir hatten aufgrund der Preise und guten Bewertungen schon länger überlegt hier zu essen. Wir wurden aber stark enttäuscht. Die Portionen waren klein, ölig und behaart. Statt Hummus gab es Mayonaise und statt Kartoffeln Pommes. Das Grillgemüse bestand aus einer halben Scheibe Zuccini, einem Stück Paprika und einer halben Zwiebel inklusive Schale. Yummy Yummy ... Nie wieder.

The syrian restaurant is located in the trendy neighbourhood of dresden, called Neustadt. It's near Martin-Luther-church and in a street with relativly low traffic for this area. It's well-decorated and has a traditionel and cozy atmosphere. The personal und waiter/waitress are very kind and professional people. Food is cooked very skillfull und has overall an excellent taste. My very best recommend! Big thx and the people who are working here - You do a great job!
