Restaurant Kügelgenhaus in Dresden

Highly recommended, delicious food, in a chic atmosphere! My meal (sauerbraten) was only lukewarm when it was served, which I told the waiter shortly afterwards. He reacted brilliantly - "the mistake" was admitted, it was immediately heated up, new meat was served on it and to compensate for it there was a schnapps of your choice on the house. Optimal! It was very tasty, good portion size and prices are reasonable. We'd love to come back!

Yesterday we had our company Christmas party in the restaurant and then went to an event in the Comédie Royale, which belongs to the restaurant. We rated the food differently. The trout and the venison goulash were very good. The bread dumplings served with the goulash were dry and hard. After complaining, we received a replacement, which was fine. The top blade steak did not live up to expectations. It was also not asked how it was desired (e.g. medium). Unfortunately it was absolutely fried. The problem was the service. As agreed, we went to the restaurant at 6:00 p.m. to eat in peace and go to the event at 8:00 p.m. The food had already been pre-ordered so the kitchen could prepare. Since we worked all day, we were hungry too. When we arrived at 7:30 p.m.!!! While we were still waiting for our food, we were told that we could do it and that the event wouldn't start without us. I replied that we actually wanted to enjoy the meal in peace and that this is no longer possible. We also have to make sure we get the last train. The innkeeper's answer: "Don't get on my chains." When the food came at 7:40 p.m., we discovered that two meals had been forgotten when we ordered. Certainly our fault, but if the food had been served on time, this wouldn't have been a problem. So my colleague had to wolf down the food. My colleague once again expressed criticism of this process. The owner then shouted, sorry, I have never experienced such behavior in the catering industry. We were all pissed off and in a complete 180° at one point. We were then greeted as the latecomers to the event, not as the people who had to wait 100 minutes for their food. The restaurant definitely ruined our Christmas party. A word of apology is missing. I will never enter this restaurant again.

I would like to agree with my colleague, the conclusion to our company Christmas party is negative. This is by no means due to the kitchen. Despite different reviews of the individual dishes, the overall picture is rather positive, the schnitzel, the venison goulash and the trout Müllerin style were particularly well received. The problem lay in the service and process. There were a total of 25 people at our celebration, 24 of whom were in the restaurant before 6 p.m. One person had problems despite leaving early knowing there was a lack of parking space due to the Christmas market and arrived around 6:30 p.m. Smaller gaps at the table were caused by a few colleagues going to the toilet and smoking. Another starter in addition to the three we had pre-ordered was ordered when everyone was there when the waitress asked if anyone else would like a warm starter. If they had slowly started handing out the salads for starters at this time, there would have been no time problems afterwards. I don't want to hide the fact that we forgot to order 2 main courses, the mistake is ours. We are all human and in the run-up to Christmas everyone's stress levels are very high. We would have noticed this mistake sooner if we had been able to start eating early as planned, which is why we ordered in advance at the restaurant and thus had more time before the cabaret. So after about 1.5 hours of waiting, we started with the starters, then came the main courses, where the previously mentioned error was discovered and stress finally broke out. As a result, our boss approached the owner to objectively criticize the process, only to be shouted at in front of half the staff that we had to behave. Up to this point I have not found any reason in our behavior that would have even remotely justified such an outburst. I would also ask you to explain what wrongdoing you claim to have committed towards your waitress, rather than writing down this claim without justification. Even if we will probably no longer meet as guests and restaurateurs, we can only learn and improve from objective criticism of the other side.

The restaurant is centrally located. We wanted to go out for a hearty meal again and ordered knuckle and sauerbraten. Food and service were great.

Looking for a cozy spot for dinner, we ended up at the Kügelgenhaus, what luck! The first thing worth mentioning is the extremely friendly and attentive service from everyone involved! Saxon cuisine was served to us at the highest level. We decided on beef goulash and sauerbraten with handmade dumplings and homemade red cabbage. The cook knew how to impress with her craftsmanship and attention to detail! You could taste that the preparation was fresh and that everything hadn't been simmering for hours. We experienced Saxon cuisine at the highest level and rounded off by friendly service and a conversation with the owner! Delicious schnitzel, excellent service and a beautiful location in the old city. We sat on a cool indoor terrace. Fortunately, not a difficult menu, but a simple 10 main courses.

It's rare to find completely homemade food. I can only recommend this address and is my secret tip for good home cooking. You sit in a cozy ambience of the historic Kügelgenhaus. Great service and really great staff. Even the chefs passed the table with a smile. I like to come here for dinner.

We sat beautifully in the “beer garden” on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The service was very friendly and always took care of our needs with a smile. The food was delicious and sufficient. We spent the first evening of our short visit to Dresden in the Kügelgenhaus restaurant. The food was very good, my husband's onion allergy was taken into account. Ms. Lydia Döhner took care of our wishes attentively and very charmingly. Overall, a very nice start to our vacation. We recommend.

Since the boss took over “complete command” in the kitchen, 5 stars for the food are a MUST! There are also “slimmer meals” for seniors --> simply great. The service can't be faulted either! We stopped by the Kügelgenhaus restaurant spontaneously and without a reservation and were given a very friendly welcome. The food was very tasty and freshly prepared and the in-house, tasty beer is highly recommended. The exciting and friendly conversations with the service staff and the manager of the house rounded off a wonderful evening. We would love to come back and can highly recommend the restaurant.

We were looking for a place to have lunch as part of a concert in Dresden this weekend. Unfortunately we were made to feel like we weren't wanted as fans of the band. The food was good and served quickly. One star deducted because the service was lacking in friendliness.

Food was excellent. The curds tasted like grandma's. The service is particularly noteworthy. The service was friendly and answered all of our questions. The manager of the house told us the history of the house and explained the pictures in the guest room. We will be back definitely

There is nothing for me to complain about here! 😍 The dish was very tasty, mashed potatoes with pork liver, onions and salad. ☺️ I didn't even finish my portion. 😄 The waitress wore white gloves.😯😁 Very friendly, unobservant and enjoys her work. 🌻🌞 We spontaneously got a place for Sunday lunch (Mother's Day) without a reservation. Many tables were already served and beautifully prepared. 🥰🌷 There was even a hint that a larger group was coming and it might get a little louder in this corner. 🐦 For the little monks:🤭 Mine was very happy. 🥳🤩 There were coasters labeled with the name of the restaurant and no beer lettering. ❤️ The Rauch brand juice was also served in a Rauch brand glass. 😯😁

Highly recommended restaurant in Dresden's Neustadt in a historic building with a variety of good, home-style cuisine. Everything freshly prepared. When you enjoy the very good food, the slightly longer waiting time is quickly forgotten. In any case, you should take some time to enjoy here, because the desserts and drinks on offer are also worth it. Last but not least, the friendly service contributed to a pleasant culinary evening. My tip: the homemade quark balls with apricot compote. A dream ;-)!

We celebrated a birthday at this restaurant and were very happy with the food and service. The food is freshly prepared, which of course takes time But it needs to taste very good, many thanks to the kitchen, they know their craft. And the service is also very good and attentive. The atmosphere is also very nice, it's very comfortable to sit here. And even culture comes into play here because there is a small comedy theater. The game plan and dates are available as flyers on the tables. We have decided on a performance and are really looking forward to it. Food: very large cinema - small, clear menu - everything fresh - great service - dog-friendly - 5 out of 5 - We were back in Dresden today a month later and didn't miss the opportunity to enjoy the cuisine again - unfortunately the liver was out - which is okay - I'd rather have none than an old one - but the goulash was also great. Wonderful quiet, cozy place. The owner's hospitality and attention to detail are worth special praise. A small range of dishes, however, with traditional, beautifully prepared Saxon cuisine. Even simple pea soup here is fragrant, tasty and perfectly seasoned. Bavarian beer on tap will delight lovers of foamy beer. We tried several different wines from Meissen, which is located very close to Dresden. We didn't refuse dessert. Everything is prepared on site, home-style. I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying the atmosphere and traditional cuisine.

At first glance we didn't want to go into the restaurant, the entrance is on the side and we only noticed it through the display...lucky ;-) ... the service was very nice and attentive and the food was very... Tasted good, price/performance was completely fine. We will come back on our next visit to Dresden. The only drawback are the toilets, which are in the neighboring building and are not barrier-free.

Paying a visit to the Kügelgenhaus restaurant is a very good choice. The location is very good, as is the ambience/furnishings. The restaurant is owner-managed and the boss serves himself. He also sits down at the table for a little chat. Where else is that today with all the hustle and bustle? Men/women like to stay longer. . . The prices are right, the dishes are very tasty and, above all, fresh! We'll definitely be back!!!

Long waiting time just for drinks

Prima eetgelegenheid in Neustadt. Geen uitgebreide kaart, maar wel lekker. Restaurantinterieur is niet voor iedereen even sfeervol, maar bediening is vriendelijk en de prijs in orde. Als je naar het toilet wilt, moet je wel het restaurant uit en in een tegenover gelegen pand naar de 1e verdieping. Beetje vreemd en voor mensen met een beperking niet te doen

Seit Jahren besuchen wir dieses Restaurant, immer, wenn es uns aus dem Erzgebirge nach Dresden verschlägt. Im Sommer kann man sehr schön im Freien sitzen, die Bedienung ist immer freundlich, nimmt sich Zeit für einen kleinen Plausch und das Essen ist einfach traumhaft. Gutbürgerlich, sächsische Küche und vernünftige Preise. Sächsische Gemütlichkeit. Gern kommen wir auch nächstes Jahr wieder

Wir waren gestern abend zu einem Geschäftsessen im Restaurant Kügelgenhaus. Die Tischreservierung per Telefon am selben Tag klappte problemlos. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und zwanglos, der Gastraum mit seinen Kreuzgewölben im über 300 Jahre alten geschichtsträchtigem Gemäuer stilvoll eingerichtet. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an leckeren Getränken und Speisen, natürlich auch vielen Spezialitäten aus Dresden und Sachsen. Wir hatten den Sächsischen Sauerbraten und den Rindergulasch. Beide Gerichte waren wirklich vorzüglich. Zum krönenden Abschluß gab es hausgemachte und frisch zubereitetet Quarkkäulchen mit Apfelmus und Sahne. Ein Fest! Unter dem Gastraum befindet sich noch ein Kellergewölbe, welches vom Wirt liebevoll in ein kleines Theater mit Barbetrieb umgestaltet wurde, das Comédie Royale. Normalerweise war es geschlossen, aber auf Nachfrage hat uns der Wirt die steinernen Stufen hinabgeführt und wir durften einen Klick hineinwerfen. Ein historischer Ort mit vielen tollen Veranstaltungen. Ein Programm findet man auf der Webseite des Restaurants. Vielen herzlichen Dank für diesen schönen Abend. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Was für ein Laden!!! Wir waren mit Freunden dort. Trotz fehlgelaufener Reservierung ( die wir belegen konnten ) und vollem Haus wurde der Aufenthalt möglich gemacht. Gut für uns! Das Essen war ein absoluter Genuss zu einem mehr als fairen Preis. Der Inhaber ist ein echtes Original mit flinker Zunge und dem Herz am rechten Fleck. Wir haben direkt nochmal reserviert. Der zweite Besuch stand dem ersten in nichts nach. Im Gegenteil: Jetzt waren wir schon Stammgäste. Klar ist: Bei unseren zukünftigen Aufenthalten in Dresden ist ein Besuch hier ein „MUSS“ und wir freuen uns jetzt schon darauf. Grüße aus Düsseldorf!

Sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre, das Essen ist absolut spitze. Zum Essen hatte meine Frau die Leber und ich Gulasch mit hausgemachten Rotkohl. Meine Tochter die Veganen Knödel . Sensationell Super Lecker.

Das ist ein uriges Haus mit wunderbarer deutscher Küche. Mein Eisbein war fas, was man sich unter einem Eisbein vorstellt. Der Wirt gab auch wertvolle Tipps für den Besuch der Festung Königsstein. Gerne wiedet!

Wir haben einen wunderschönen Abend verbracht. Hervorragendes Essen in sehr angenehmen Ambiente. Zuvorkommende Bedienung. Den Nachtisch den wir uns teilen wollten bekamen wir auf 2 Tellern äußerst appetitlich angerichtet serviert. Auch das hauseigene Bier ist zu empfehlen.
