Restaurant Café Stadt Frankfurt in Rüdesheim am Rhein

This is the best restaurant of our last trip. The pork knuckle tasted the best I've ever had, and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.

Disappointed after the good reviews here. The schnitzel was tough and salty, the sauce more so. The pork medallions were better, but had the same sauce. The waiters were fine, but funny about serving tap water, preferring us to have more bottles of spring water. Also, the restaurant only takes cash which we hadn’t realised when ordering.

Excellent all around with wonderful dry Riesling!

Very friendly service. The seating is really nice. The food is delicious, but there could be a bit more on the plate. The prices are absolutely reasonable. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

A single disappointment The food was a disgrace. Cordon Bleu from the freezer, pure tourist food, but waited over an hour for the food. Service unfriendly, arrogant.

Nice to sit outside Attention, cash payment only possible!!

We chose this restaurant because of the good Google reviews. The service was immediately noticeably unsympathetic. You didn't feel welcome as a guest but rather served carelessly and boredly. The menu was clear and offers a good selection of dishes. As a starter we chose asparagus soup and a side salad. The soup was good, the salad was bland and tasteless. For the main course we chose the sauerbraten and the schnitzel with mushroom sauce. In general the taste of the dishes was okay. There was a lack of salt, freshness and taste everywhere. Unfortunately, the sauces were very reminiscent of packet sauces. The taste of the dishes was reminiscent of retirement home meals. We cannot recommend the restaurant at all.

Tourist trap, food is definitely not homemade and quite expensive

We were there for dinner with a group of 12 people, we were all thrilled by the delicious food, you should just inform us in advance that you can ONLY pay in CASH, a note was shown to us at the end, very small in the menu at the top left.

Wonderful German food and great people. But they only accept cash!! Great beers and local wines

Absolute recommendation! Nice atmosphere and, above all, delicious food (pork medallions!!!).

Racist waiter! I just left this place, where the old woman (with a lot of make up on her face) made a super racist comment to another group of people. She said “scheisse Tuerkisch” or something like that, when she was inside, to the other waiters, she smiled like making fun. Then I saw her going to the Turkish customers, smiling at their faces. This was awful to witness. She was very rude to us as well, when we went inside the restaurant to pay. She shouted at us like can I help you! Not kindly at all. I regret that I just walked and didn’t say anything to her. I should have been saying what she said when she was serving to the Turkish customers, smiling. I hope the owner of the restaurant sees this and takes action against, in case you want to contact me, me and my husband could witness what we have seen.

Drinks service was top and quick. We had to wait over an hour for the main courses, the food was mediocre at best. I wouldn't recommend it, it's more of a tourist trap.

We had reserved for 8 people on Sunday and could choose between inside and outside. We found space outside. There was delicious homemade lemonade for me and Wiener Schnitzel. A little something green would have been nice. Portion was plentiful and very tasty. I would like to highlight the excellent fries and the attentive service. Not barrier-free! Card payment not possible. Toilets in the basement ok.

The friendly Natascha served us very tasty food. Everything was great. We'll be back.

If you find yourself near Rudesheim, you must eat here! We had the Saur Braten, which was the most tender beef I've ever eaten. We are STILL on the hunt for a Spatlese and an Apfel Strudel that comes close to theirs! The service was fantastic, too! Truly impressed, all the way around. And the city is so quaint and beautiful to wander around while you work off the strudel.

Portion could be a little larger

Waited an abnormally long time, abnormally bad food. Everything (hock, potato dumplings, spaetzle, schnitzel, etc.) tastes like it's frozen goods, poor finished products. The only good thing was the wheat and ambience.

Were there for dinner. The ambience and service were very good. The restaurant both inside and in the courtyard was very clean. I had tagliatelle with tiger prawns and aioli sauce, the prawns were super juicy, but the olive oil tasted too strong for me, which dominated the whole meal.

Had a very good meal there. The knuckle is particularly recommended. Crispy baked and very good wine sauerkraut and dumplings. The service was very quick and courteous. Price/performance top. It is advisable to make a reservation on weekends. The seats on the beautiful outdoor terrace are very popular.

I don't normally rate restaurants... We were in the restaurant on Saturday, April 12th, 2025 with a registered group of around 30 people. This has never happened to me/us. First we were escorted to our shared tables. Picking up the drinks went fairly quickly. After the drinks arrived, it took almost two hours until we finally got our menus. Of course not in the ordered order - but completely randomly. You've never seen anything like this before... The quantities of French fries were completely random (some had 80% of the plate filled, others only had a manageable number of fries). Most portions were so heavily fried that the fries shattered and flew around on the plate when they came into contact with a fork. The schnitzels were "dead fried" and had nothing like a schnitzel, more like a fried cleaning rag. When asked about it, the waitress just commented rudely. This was hard to beat in terms of unfriendliness. - Service: - absolutely bad - not recommended... - Food quality: subpar - not recommended - Recommend the place: never go there again If you could rate the restaurant/restaurant with "negative stars" -1* to -6* -- I would give it -10*! Avoid the place at all costs, don't go there! Not worth it... ... Only cash payment possible and initially only a receipt pad is written down by hand. You then have to wait a very long time for a cash register receipt until it is actually handed over... "very strange"!

We ate very, very tasty food. Fresh asparagus, whether with meat or fish, is highly recommended. Very nice service. Children are also very welcome. Thank you for the nice evening.

16€ for a burger with frozen pattie from Blockhouse (Angus) was an absolute disgrace. Waited 1 hour for a burger to be ready

Unfortunately my knuckle was quite dry and I asked for some sauce. Don't be a problem. It was then later on the bill with €3.50. We're talking about 100ml of gravy. That's just cheeky. The grill plate is also completely overpriced. Waiter nice. The notices about "no card payment" are so incredibly inconspicuous that you look stupid when you have to pay the bill for 4 cash. I won't go there anymore.

Excelent Burger and nice portion. With a glass of Aperol spritzer. Recommend this place. I saw a lot of other dishes and they looked amazing. Have a good one

The service was very good, I liked that every service person wore the same thing. Despite it being busy, the food came quickly and was easy and tasty. We also really liked the beer garden, which was decorated with great attention to detail.

We always enjoy coming back. I had pork medallions in Assbach pepper sauce and croquettes, as well as a fresh salad. With my meal I drank a semi-dry Riesling from Weingut Siegfried. The food was very tasty and filling. The waitress NATASCHA was very nice.

Outside wow, inside... What tourists with patience and tolerance

Long wait for food of over 1 hour. Other people served quicker. Then the order was made incorrectly. Even at other tables. You were just put off by the staff. There would be a lot going on. There wasn't much going on. Bad restaurant.

Eating at this restaurant was a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, especially the homemade dishes and the desserts. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the visit very pleasant. The stylish and cozy ambience created a relaxed atmosphere. A visit is absolutely recommended!

The waiter was not nice, but the food was good, and the atmosphere very festive and beautiful, and we were satisfied in general.

I can't understand all the positive reviews. There were four of us and we were all dissatisfied. Spaghetti Bolognese was simple pasta with a small spoonful of sauce, you couldn't taste any of the parmesan described. Schnitzel with Asbach pepper sauce was almost only pepper sauce, you didn't taste any of the Asbach, there was only a handful of fries on the plate. The goose leg for €26 without salad was so dry that you could hardly chew it. The two dumplings that came with it were the size of a golf ball. We were just disappointed because we expected more from the positive reviews, but for us it was more of a tourist rip-off level, for us there is no reason to come back or make a recommendation...

Very nice restaurant with good food and very dedicated staff.

We were there today with the practice team for the Christmas party, very cozy, super friendly service, the food was very tasteful and the price-performance ratio was great. I can only recommend it

Very good restaurant, with delicious food (kudos again to the chef) and very friendly staff. Despite all the hectic pace, always attentive and lovable (here again especially the lady and the waiter with shell bracelets).. The heated outdoor terrace is very nicely decorated. We'd love to come back.

Overall above average but had better in Cologne. Beef was well prepared and the dumplings good. Chicken sandwich nice and fries very nice. Hot inside but very cute decorations. Service was slow and never got my salad. Great apple strudel

I can only warn against this, the lovely ambience is attractive here, but the waiters were completely disrespectful, the food would have been better in any kebab shop, but you would have paid significantly less. Half of our order was forgotten and we didn't get cutlery either. People also act as if it was their own fault.

We had 5 drinks and 1 tapas plate, overall 39euro, fair amount price/quality, went fast.. in and ouy in 30dish mins. Fluent in English. Biggest drawback is that we had to pay cash, no cards accepted.

Very tasty food, you can sit comfortably both inside and outside and on colder days the terrace is heated. The venison goulash was a dream and the roast pork was also very tasty. Our waitress took great care of us and was very friendly. Ask for Natascha and you will receive warm hospitality. Highly recommended, as there is also a public parking lot 4 minutes walk from the restaurant. *Tip the Rüdesheimer coffee as dessert. You get a very nice show😇👍👍

Food was medium Rhenish Sauerbraten super tender but red cabbage not very seasoned. At the entrance there is a tiny card with thumbtacks attached to the menu sign at the top right, with a crossed-out card as a motif - no one can see that! No wonder the waitress got angry when we complained about it. Probably every second person does that. It happens that you can't pay with a card in a long-established restaurant in the middle of this tourist town.

Dog friendly place with indoor and outdoor seatings. Kaffee is a must try if u love brandy n caffeine w a drop of sugar n creme. Pork knuckle is crispy with tender meat however it is a tad salty n we can smell the porky smell which isnt too spectacular. Salads refreshing no doubt and schnitzels good! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

The reception was warm and the staff was very nice. The orders arrived quickly and the food was also very tasty. We recommend it without a doubt and we will definitely come back.

A store that is definitely a good fit (also) for large travel groups. You can find a suitable atmosphere and the staff is always on the move. Unfortunately we weren't served, so I can't say much about the food - it certainly looked very tasty from a distance. Quae volumus, credimus libenter. Day of visit: July 13, 24 in the afternoon.

The restaurant offers an all-round perfect experience. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, always with a smile. The three of us ate and we were all thrilled – the food was freshly prepared and super tasty! What was particularly great was the cozy terrace, where you immediately feel welcome. A big thank you to the team – we will definitely be back!

Not as good as the review shows, we didn't order knuckle but other dishes and that wasn't as special as what you can prepare at home. The waiting time was long and I got cold food :(

Food and drinks were great! The service staff deserve a 5, but the service category gets a star deducted because we were only allowed to pay in CASH or via Paypal. There was no evidence of this anywhere and the waiters probably have to explain this several times a day. Nobody really understood why you couldn't just pay with a card. But that's complaining at a high level - otherwise everything was great!

In the café-restaurant “Stadt Frankfurt” you can experience a pleasant atmosphere and a friendly atmosphere. Despite the fact that it was very well attended, there was neither crowd nor disturbing background noise. The food was served in a reasonable time.

We had mushroom soup as a starter. This tasted like packet soup with strong flavor enhancers. We also had to wait longer than the neighboring tables who had ordered later, even though we had specifically mentioned that the starter could be served together with the main course. I had knuckle with dumplings. The knuckle was okay, but the dumplings and sauerkraut were also ready meals. There were three of us at a table of four, and suddenly a chair was taken away from us while we were eating without asking - as a result, all of the items we had placed there fell onto the floor. It's simply quick, impersonal tourist processing. If you don't have high taste expectations, you'll definitely be in good hands in this restaurant

Me and my mother went here for dinner on Friday (9/20). We ordered the knuckle and the schnitzel. The atmosphere was pleasant. The food, the price also good. Especially the woman who served us was incredibly friendly and super nice. She makes you feel welcome and is always available with a smile. She even gave us extra plates so that me and my mother could share the food. Careful! I think she already knows the Korean culture because many tourists from South Korea visit here. Thank you! The food is very good. A bit slow to American standards (don’t be in a hurry!) but very good regardless. But most importantly please be aware that this establishment does NOT accept credit or debit cards of any kind. It was our fault to assume that since it is in a very tourist oriented area (Port of Rüdesheim) that they would accept credit/debit cards. We were wrong in our assumption and it was a bit embarrassing. Between the four of us we “barely” managed to come up with enough to cover it. E100

Nice restaurant in the center of Rüdesheim. There were six of us here and we were all very happy with the food. The menu primarily features local dishes. There is also something suitable for vegans. The waitresses are quick and polite. All in all, recommended.

A dream restaurant, especially at Christmas time!!!!
