Average age during a Weds lunch was about 65, not sure how many are using google reviews but the food was average, putting it mildly. Venison goulash was so dry it had probably been in the pot for 3-4 days, and had no flavor. The hamburger was also equally tasteless and completely cooked through (probably a frozen patty), and you pay €0.70 per ketchup packet… certainly NOT a 4.7 place, or even 4.0

Exterior beautifully decorated for Christmas with a warm and festive seating area at the front. A good drink selection, well priced. Food was tasty, not the best we had on our trip but nice and reasonably priced. Advertises cash only but they do accept card payments.

We went in with low expectations, as it's a touristy place. But we came out thoroughly impressed. The roast goose leg with red cabbage and dumplings was delicious. The meat was a little tough in a few places, but the flavor was excellent. The venison goulash with what appeared to be homemade spaetzle was also very tasty, but I think it would have been even better with red cabbage and dumplings. The staff was very friendly. The food arrived quickly, and the portions were very generous. We will definitely go back. Card payments are accepted.

Server was unhappy we only wanted to order 2 mains for 3 people and tried to push us to order a third dish, claiming it was “not enough”. Well I’m sorry we are small eaters. When we said we would order more later if needed, she said it would take a long time if so. Which was clearly a lie because the food came pretty soon after ordering. I’m glad we did not give in to her because we didn’t even manage to finish the food we originally ordered. The gravy for the pork knuckle was too salty. So much for it being “not enough”.

For a reasonable price by Dutch standards, a complete meal including a Rüdesheimer Cafe show with light effects. An accessible restaurant geared towards tourists. No problem, because that's what we Rotterdammers are after all.

We were absolutely thrilled! The food tasted amazing, looked great, was hot, and was well-priced. The service was very friendly, quick, and, above all, they took their time with us, even though it suddenly became busy. They also gave us friendly advice on where we could find a nice spot to camp. Thank you so much for that! We'd love to come back and can only recommend it to everyone!

So, the value for money is good, and the quality is okay for the price. But it doesn't quite get a full score. The roast pork was very lightly seasoned, I'd say the sauce wasn't homemade, and I'm not sure if the spaetzle was pre-made—but I was leaning toward the convenience store. But, fundamentally, it wasn't bad! For €12.90, the portion was large and quite good. The service was excellent, I must say; I can only praise it highly. The same goes for the ambiance; it had a rustic, touristy feel and was well-appointed.

In my opinion, the food and service leave a lot to be desired. I personally didn't enjoy the food, and I also felt the service was very inattentive and rude. When we wanted to pay, we were told that card payments weren't accepted. Unfortunately, there was no notice about this anywhere. What I did notice, however, is that the reviews are quite good, as negative reviews are deleted for alleged defamation. It seems to me that the criticism I raised is known, but nothing has been done about it. We definitely won't be coming back.

The value for money is just right here! We keep coming back to enjoy regional cuisine (Sauerbraten!) and good Riesling. And we always appreciate the friendly welcome, especially from Natascha, who we consider the soul of Frankfurt!

The outdoor setting is very pleasant, with its terrace heated by lovely flaming stoves. A perfect Aperol. Their shank is excellent with the large mashed potato balls and an excellent choux pastry. The specialty, the flambéed coffee, is a must-try for those who enjoy this type of alcohol. The service is impeccable. The indoor dining rooms are also very welcoming. I'll keep the address.

Unfortunately, the fries were the best. We had the Angus Burger and tagliatelle with chanterelle cream. Neither the burger patty (grilled from frozen, bland and tasteless) nor the chanterelle cream were homemade, but the chanterelles were fresh. The pasta was unfortunately overcooked and too salty. The service was very friendly and offered us coffee or apple strudel as compensation. We were very hungry and ate most of it, but we personally cannot recommend this restaurant at all. We can't say whether the venison or the schnitzel are homemade. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is very poor. The ambiance is quite nice, but unfortunately, the soap dispenser in the restroom is broken.

The food was very good. And among the six of us, not a single one was dissatisfied. We'll be back.

Unbelievable, I have been to many restaurants but this one is by far the very best, the ambience is wonderfully rustic, the service extremely attentive and friendly, and the food is to die for, nowhere else in the entire Rheingau can even come close to that, even with another restaurant.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. We ate there twice, and all the dishes were excellent. The waitress, Nataša, was very accommodating and friendly.

The amount of haksen is a lot, but it's a bit salty. After eating it, I drank water all day long. But more than anything, there were so many flies and bees that I couldn't eat well;; The staff were friendly.

I can't say anything about the food, as the service was so warm that I left. As a guest, you should feel welcome. The "greeting," if you can call it that, was more like I was disturbing the place. I waited about 15 minutes until someone came to my table, with such an annoyed expression. When I asked for an ashtray, I was finally told that smoking isn't allowed on the terrace (i.e., outside) and that I could find another restaurant. That's no way to treat people! Thank you, Café - Restaurant "Stadt Frankfurt" - Rüdesheim am Rhein, for this valuable experience. Without your friendly staff, I would never have eaten the delicious rum steak in the Ratsstube. At least the Ratsstube knows how to treat guests :)

We came here because of the many positive reviews. Our first impression was convincing. However, what followed was very unpleasant. The lady who served us was beyond unfriendly. The food we ordered was good, but not quite warm, and it took forever to arrive. We were in the shop for 1.5 hours (not voluntarily), and we weren't even asked if we wanted something to drink. After we told the lady, who ignored us with considerable persistence, that we wanted to pay, she became snippy and disappeared for another 20 minutes. When we spoke to her again, she was annoyed, but at least we were able to pay and leave the shop. I wouldn't go here again because the food isn't good enough to make up for the poor and unfriendly service.

⭐☆☆☆☆ We were there with six people – and learned two things right away: 1. Arrogance is a skill you can serve, and 2. A "medium" steak apparently means "gray as concrete" here. The waitress proudly told us how she had thrown out guests the day before. We almost offered to repeat the exercise with us today – after the meal, it would have even been fine. My steak came through like an old car tire, my colleague got his meat half-raw – basically a "surf & turf" between a crematorium and a slaughterhouse. When we honestly said "not so good," the waitress didn't care. No "Oh, I'm sorry," no offer – just that icy, cold "I don't care" expression. It's a shame, really: the place looks nice, the menu is clear – but the service is full of attitude, and the kitchen seems to roll the dice on how well cooked the food is. Great for comedy nights, flop for culinary delights.

I ordered Schweinshaxe, a traditional German dish, with a white wine made in Rüdesheim. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was delicious. The portions of Schweinshaxe, a German-style pork knuckle, are incredibly large, so you'll only be able to eat about two-thirds of a serving.

There are a lot of wasps flying to the food, there are only 4 dishes for children, the premises are open, the food is tasty but not worth the money, there are a lot of wasps and green flies,забыли принести хлеб(мы это повторили 6 раз)Honestly, not really, I do not recommend it.

We stopped here during our visit to Rüdesheim to enjoy classic German cuisine. Unfortunately, we were bitterly disappointed. In our opinion, the restaurant is very much geared towards tourists, which is reflected in both the prices and the quality. They rely on walk-in customers who only come once for a meal anyway. I haven't had such a bad schnitzel in a long time, to put it mildly. The service staff was also very inattentive. To top it off, they didn't even accept card payments! Luckily, we had plenty of cash with us! This kind of thing should at least be signposted somewhere, folks!

Really worth a visit. If you come and there is no available table, they are quick to make it ready when someone has left/finished. Very friendly service. My husband had the best rumb steak - perfectly cooked.

I can't express too much enthusiasm here. Food: The meat itself was excellent (in my case, roast pork). The dumplings and sauce were from a packet, so they were neither special nor worth the price. Service: Quite rude and difficult to understand. They clear plates even though not everyone has finished eating and don't even ask if it's okay. Absolutely unacceptable. Ambience: It's just the old town in a tourist town. Beautiful houses and a corresponding atmosphere, which you pay for; small, noisy trams full of tourists that you have to endure every 10 minutes.

The pork knuckle is fantastic; the last time I had something like it was in Bavaria. The waiter is super friendly and helps with ideas and suggestions if you don't have something. I'd love to come back 🤘

Not bad for a quick meal, but serving generic Bitburg lager is a shame. Giving tip options when paying with a card is outrageous. I declined, of course, as this American custom has to be discouraged.

Atmosphere here is peak Rüdesheim. Good beers and service. We both loved the pork knuckle but didn’t enjoy the goulash with spätzle as much, though it wasn’t bad. Just not that good (we’re big fans of goulash and spätzle normally). Was described to us as the more casual best place in town and I think it fits that description perfectly.

The food was halfway decent. The service was awful. I waited 20 minutes after the meal after being asked to pay. The waitress asked for my plate with "give me the plate" 🤷🏻‍♂️ Payment is only possible in cash. I recommend choosing another restaurant.

This time, I visited a restaurant called Stadt Frankfurt in Rüdesheim am Rhein. This is a traditional restaurant that opened in 1899. You can enjoy authentic German cuisine in a wooden German-style building, so it was a good stop during my trip. The menus I ordered were Schweinshaxe, Bolognese pasta, Black Tiger pasta, and steak. First of all, Schweinshaxe was baked crispy as expected, and the outside was savory and the inside was soft, so it was very delicious. It was served with cabbage and potato balls, so it was not greasy and I could taste the traditional German taste well. On the other hand, Bolognese pasta and Black Tiger pasta were just okay, to be honest. It’s not that they tasted bad, but since pasta is not the main menu here, the sauce tasted ordinary and the noodles were a little undercooked. Still, it was okay as a light side dish. Lastly, the steak was thick enough and juicy, so I was quite satisfied. The meat was good, and the potatoes and salad that came with it were good to eat together. Overall, I felt that this place definitely suits traditional German dishes like Schweinshaxe better. If the weather is good, it would be better to sit on the terrace and enjoy it with local wine. If you are traveling to Rudesheim, it would be good to stop by once to feel the local atmosphere. However, I don't think you should expect much from the pasta dishes, and I recommend the traditional menu.

Went here three times during our stray, however one time just for drinks. Especially the Schweinehaxe is really good. A must if youre visiting Rüdesheim. A lot of very good and strong spritzes for a good price. The staff is incredibly friendly, and dogs are welcome!

Have eaten at that restaurant every summer for many years because of good memories, good atmosphere, good service and ok food. In recent years it has lost its way. The food does not taste homemade anymore. And the service has become lousy. We had a waiter who had no pride in his profession. He behaved very superiorly and made the whole experience bad. If we ever come back we will be served by the lady who works there, she can really serve, always nice and sees the guests. You have to bring cash here, they do not take cards.

This difference was unfortunately very obvious and made us feel very uncomfortable. Also, please note: card payments are not accepted! The selection of vegetarian dishes leaves much to be desired. The tagliatelle tasted okay, but the flavor came primarily from the oil rather than spices or other ingredients. Not offering card payments and only mentioning this at the checkout is pretty absurd in a tourist region in 2025.

Typical German food, but there are other options as well. The dishes are very carefully prepared and the service is excellent. We went to Rudesheim and ate there every day, and we couldn't go wrong with any of the dishes. Perfect!!! I highly recommend it!

We received a very friendly welcome, but the notice stating that card payments weren't accepted significantly dampened the atmosphere. This notice was actually 2 x 2 cm in size. So we became victims of tourists. I absolutely do not support this approach!

Very nice garden, smiling staff and really good burgers. Of course, there was no shortage of wine. The place is always crowded, large portions. If you are in Rüdesheim, you can go there without hesitation.
