It smelled very musty... There was almost exclusively buttercream cake... the mocha cake was missing the mocha...

You are not welcome as a guest. Very rude. Not recommended.

In a traditional cafe in downtown Schwerin, near the castle, there is an extensive range of cakes and delicious dishes. The service is friendly and accommodating.

Very courteous staff. We had our 20-month-old granddaughter with us and she was really looked after. The food there has always been good, but this time the game goulash with dumplings was absolutely amazing. The chef is a genius.

Super unfriendly staff. You get turned on when you add two chairs to a table and have to push the chair out a little to get up (that means there's no room here!) When a 3 year old orders herself something to drink, she is asked what is it? We ordered 2 coffees and a water but only got one coffee out of 2. We drank everything in 5 minutes and were happy to leave the store!

Very nice ambience in the Viennese coffee house style. Cake was very tasty, but too expensive at €5.40 per piece. Service is almost non-existent, cake has to be brought to the table yourself, service is inattentive.

Been there for coffee for a while. There is no trace of Viennese flair anymore. The staff will call you on your first name, no matter how old you are. In the afternoon there was a heavy smell of food in the air. This restaurant has come a long way from being a cozy café. Too bad

The Café Prag in Schwerin is a nice place to take a leisurely break. What was particularly positive was the friendly and attentive staff, who made the visit very pleasant. The food was good and solid, just the thing for a relaxed meal. The cozy atmosphere also invites you to linger. However, there are a few minor weaknesses: The furniture looks a bit old and could do with a refresh. In addition, the waiting time for the food was a little longer than hoped. Nevertheless, I can recommend Café Prague for a relaxed visit – you feel in good hands here.

Wir haben für 60 Euro gefrühstückt das beste war das Obstgläschen Dosenobst und obendrauf gab es eine kleine Scheibe Kiwi und ein kleiner Rest von einer Orange . Das Frühstück war übersichtlich bei so einem Preis erwartet man frische Zutaten und frische Brötchen . 2 Sorten Käse 1 bischen Wurst bischen Marmelade Frischkäse in Plastikverpackung dazu eine Gurken und Tomatenscheibe .Wir haben mit dem Besitzer über das Frühstück gesprochen das wir für das Geld mehr erwartet hätten er fing gleich an, das wäre gerechtfertigt Lage usw...er fragte uns wollten sie etwa mehr ? Und wir wären die ersten Gäste die sich bei ihm beschweren er hat nur positive Bewertungen!!! 3 Scheiben Lachs 6,90 1 Croissant nicht mal frisch 3 Euro das geht garnicht .Wie hier die positiven Bewertungen zusammen kommen, lässt sich nur erahnen. Die Bedienung war super nett das Frühstück kam sehr schnell .Wir kommen nicht wieder da kennen wir bessere Lokalitäten für diesen Preis . Ich denke mal das auch diese Berwertung bald raus fliegt, aber ich hoffe das es viele Gäste lesen bevor sie hier viel Geld lassen !

Café Prague boasts on its own menu as follows: “The café is known for its excellent cakes and tarts as well as its first-class coffee specialties.” After such a full-bodied announcement, I was surprised that the praised coffee specialties came from a fully automatic machine that has already seen its best days. Instead of cappuccino today, tea... The “excellent cakes” also turned out to be a disappointment. Visually, the cakes definitely make a great impression, look beautiful, are obviously easy to cut, are tall and beautifully symmetrical. However, a large slice of Black Forest cake didn't even have a single cherry between the layers and the "cherry jelly" didn't reach the edge of the cake. I didn't find it particularly tasty either - I personally didn't find it edible. I have the impression that the look of the cakes and not the taste should be convincing.

Unfortunately the food is a tourist trap. I paid €12.50 for a “Cafe Prague” toast and was just disappointed. Boring little white toast with a piece of turkey on top and shriveled beans. Not tasty, not filling and also €12.50. The drinks also only come in 0.2 size. In addition, the store is nice but very crowded and therefore very loud and not comfortable. Unfortunately we left the restaurant very dissatisfied, so no recommendation.

A Viennese-style coffee restaurant, stylish with high ceilings, a large selection of cakes, a dense atmosphere in the afternoon (full, closely seated) but overall really stylish and beautiful!!! My roast game deserves at least 5 stars! My wife had the dish of the day, Königsberger Klopse, a little too few capers, but tasted good. Unfortunately we didn't have a piece of cake for dessert, but it would have been difficult for us to decide.

Wir hatten uns auf eine kleine Pause vom trubeligen Bürgerfest gefreut. Leider hat uns das Café Prag gehörig die Suppe versalzen: kaum traten wir über die Schwelle, unwissend wie das Café es hält mit dem Platzieren, werden wir auch schon von einem Kellner angemotzt, wir sollten aus dem Weg gehen. Eigentlich wäre es seine Aufgabe gewesen, suchend schauende Paare als zahlende Kunden zu gewinnen. Anschließend rempelt uns eine ältere Frau an und motzt dazu. Das war schließlich unser Zeichen, den Laden zu verlassen. Klare Empfehlung: weitergehen und ein anderes Café suchen, es gibt jede Menge im näheren Umkreis.

The parking lots and houses in the city center cannot be used: That's why we had a longer walk to the time-honored Café Prague in the city center! The nut butter cream cake in black, red, gold and the lemon yoghurt cake tasted very good, as did the café. Before that we had the plate dishes of zander fillet with parsley potatoes and cucumber salad as well as the Königsberger meatballs with boiled potatoes and beetroot, also very tasty.

We wanted to have a coffee and were extremely disappointed. Coffee had no taste and staff was always unfriendly. Never again.

I had an ice cream chocolate there where the ice cream already had ice crystals from the freezer. When I wanted to pay by card, the waitress just said no, only from €20. When I gave him the money in cash, he basically threw the change on the table. I have rarely experienced such bad service

The food tasted very good. Only the prices are extremely expensive in this cafe. Otherwise I would take a look there more often. Staff is quick and polite. Cleanliness seems to have an extremely high priority. The waitress cleared the dishes. Another waitress came immediately and wiped the table clean, even though we didn't make any spills. We found that very unpleasant. It gets loud when there are a lot of guests. The acoustics are not that nice there.

Unfortunately disappointing! On a day trip from Rostock to Schwerin, the two of us specifically visited Café Prague because it had previously been highly praised somewhere on regional television. Anyone who assumes that there is something Czech on the menu is completely wrong. Standard German tourist cuisine, with an East Algian touch. Ragout fin, Strammer Max, Schnitzel etc. We chose two dishes from the daily menu. Seasonal chanterelles in cream sauce, pork fillet, rösti and a salad with fried shrimp and baguette. It was just OK, but far from totally delicious. The meat was too cooked (hard/dry), the chanterelles didn't taste “fresh” but like frozen goods, the cream sauce tasted too much like “grained broth” (from Maggi or something) and the rösti were two of those terrible frozen pressed thick triangles from the deep fryer that you can find in the chest of every discount store. We looked at the menu again to see if it really said “fresh” chanterelles (it did) and I spoke to the waitress again and asked if they were really “fresh”. According to her: yes. It tasted like frozen mushrooms, so watery when you took a bite and a bit slippery. The salad was also rich, but without pizzazz and with ready-made standard dressing from the gastro bulk pack. The prawns were warm but without any roasted flavors and the baguette was half a breakfast sandwich. The house lemonade elderberry was delicious. Price just under €50 for two meals and two drinks. The ambience - yes nice. What it actually has to do with Prague is unclear. Ok, but thanks, not again. Service was friendly, but without “anything special”, not an iota above the usual standard.

Ambience and service were very good. The food, we ate schnitzel, didn't convince us and the price-performance ratio was too high for the quality of the food. Through my own experience in the kitchen, I know what I'm talking about.

A dream. Coffeehouse-style café and restaurant. Friendly staff. I had pike perch fillet with parsley potatoes and cucumber salad. For dessert there was red fruit jelly with vanilla ice cream and cream and coffee. Excellent quality of freshly prepared food.

Café Prague is well known in Schwerin. I've known it for decades. A visit to Schwerin is not possible without visiting Café Prague. Unfortunately it has become more of a restaurant. COFFEE and CAKE/tart with the smell of fish in the wonderful location is not to our taste. For what reasons is the GDR time left out in the chronicle, why?

I don’t want to generalise. But one of the workers was very bad. She was very mean, unfriendly, unhelpful, and disrespectful. I guess any cafe should teach their workers how to deal with the customers. She was the only one like that. Other workers were good.

If you pay by card, you are required to pay a tip. The waiter is not only not polite, he is simply downright rude

Although the café is called Café Prag, you feel like you are in a typical Viennese coffee house during the imperial era. Huge selection of cakes and tarts of excellent quality. It is located in Schwerin's pedestrian zone with a view of the castle if you sit outside. A small downer is the relatively high, but in my opinion justified, prices. The service staff is not always attentive when all seats are occupied. After we informed us, we still waited about 15 minutes for the bill.

The place is very nice, we sat outside because it was sunny. When I went in to pay I saw the room and it is very nice. With an old style that I really liked. Everything was very clean. We ordered 2 cappuccinos and an espresso coffee with two portions of cakes, we paid €23 or €24, I don't remember well. The cakes seemed a little expensive to me but hey, you don't just pay for a piece of cake, the whole context goes into the price. They weren't very to my taste but that's personal. I did like the coffee. I recommend it. Thank you for your attention and your service.

At Cafe Prague, 0.4 liters of Pils cost €6.10, which is €7.62 for a half or €15.25 for a mass. This is the same level as in Munich at the Oktoberfest, but without music and an insolence. For dinner I had tagliatelle with chanterelles in cream sauce. Only a few of the tagliatelle could be rolled up with a fork, the rest were broken. There were a lot of chanterelles, but only the large, mushy or torn flat cakes, there was little spice and flavor. My desire for chanterelles disappeared for a long time. The ambience was okay and the service was very friendly and committed.

The cake was good, the black tea wasn't that special, the service was friendly with the exception of the lady who served the cake. Please just write to the cake what kind of cake it is, then you don't have to bother the lady with questions.

Great service, friendly and fast, but at 9 a.m. there is a croissant from the day before. That's a shame. Continuation: As compensation for my subtle hint, I was promptly offered a latte to take home on the house.

We took advantage of the outdoor tables to have a little coffee break. However, I took a strange thing whose name I have forgotten but it was basically a scoop of ice cream, a scoop of whipped cream and the bottom of the plate filled with a kind of very sweet berry jam, too sweet for me but I got it I managed to finish it by drinking some of the coffee in the Bricco that my husband took (by mistake 🤣). Very nice waiter!
