Seewarte in Schwerin

Reservations for the week are completely uncomplicated. We got a table with a magical lake view. Advent time and the restaurant was lovingly designed. The staff was extremely professional, friendly and quick. The food (2 x fish dishes) was a treat for the palate. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the experience and recommend the Seewarte.

My family had a celebration at the Seewarte and it was a very disappointing experience. The service was unpleasant and loud, which significantly disturbed the atmosphere. Especially during a speech, the staff repeatedly intervened in a rude manner and interrupted, which was simply inappropriate and disruptive for a celebration. Overall, the behavior of the waitress was very unfriendly – ​​both towards the guests and towards their own colleagues. The older waitresses were particularly rude, while the younger employees were friendly and tried hard, but were obviously not treated well by their older colleagues. It seemed like the team didn't work well together, which had a negative impact on service. In addition, my family's wishes were hardly taken into account at the Seewarte. The organization was chaotic and there was a lack of flexibility to organize the celebration according to our ideas. The food was also disappointing and not at all justified for the high price. All in all, I can definitely not recommend the Seewarte for a family celebration. The rude, loud wait staff, unprofessional service and mediocre food make this place not the best choice. If you want to host a celebration, you should definitely look for a better alternative. The location may be nice, but even that can't make up for the overall disappointing experience. Too bad.

Three of us went for lunch on November 17th, 2024. Since I've been there many times, I can find the map Grottoes Old. Gets really boring. I ordered beef carpacio as a starter. The disks were all on a mountain towered. I've never experienced it before. You think, people are coming, everything is fine. Was my last visit there. Seewarte has slacked off a lot. The food tastes great. Personally, a slightly smaller menu would be enough for me; you have to browse and search for a long time to find the right dish. The prices are quite high and the portions are often not manageable due to the size - perhaps it would be better to offer slightly smaller portions for 1 or 2 euros less.

Very tasty food and also friendly service. We were really very satisfied. But when we happened to look at the billing a few days later, we were pretty disappointed. Why? Well, the two of us had a bill of just over €114. We would have thought it would have been great if they had pointed out to us that there was a charge for packing food! In principle no problem! But please not in this price category of food. We have to admit that this disappointed and put us off! Maybe this should be reconsidered...

The Seewarte is a popular excursion destination. The service is great, the atmosphere is very pleasant. You can also sit outside in summer.

Nice restaurant with happy waiters. The restaurant was completely booked, yet they did everything to clear a table and create space for 5 diners. Delicious food that was arranged perfectly and beautifully. Too bad they don't make their own fries, and the dressing in the side salad isn't very exciting. Fortunately, the portions are so large that the salad is not necessary at all.

We were absolutely thrilled after our visit! Very friendly service, beautifully set table, attractive large selection of dishes. The restaurant was very busy, but we didn't have to wait long for our order and the individual courses. We were very, very positively surprised because due to the large selection of dishes available, we initially thought that not everything could be good. YES, it can!!! All the dishes that “passed us by” also looked great! Our schnitzels were so juicy, great breading, tender as butter. We had pork and veal, they tasted great! The crayfish starter was very tasty, fruity and spicy. The guacamole in particular had a lot of fire, excellent! We had different sauces that were simply very good and the different vegetable side dishes were also great! The portions are really big and for us the quality and value for money are absolutely right! The service staff were very welcoming and always asked if we needed anything else. We really liked this, it's something that often goes unnoticed in many restaurants. Unfortunately it is now autumn and we couldn't use the beautiful outdoor area. But we'll definitely come back for that. THANKS!

The Seewarte is idyllically located on Lake Schwerin. We would be happy to come here. A very extensive menu, there is something for everyone. Whether fish, meat, vegetarian, everyone will find what they are looking for here. The service is friendly, not always easy with so many guests. Simple, albeit tasty, home cooking but at overpriced prices. Doesn't fit together. The service lacks style and elegance for this ambience and this price category.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant for ice cream. There are two “ice cream sundaes” to choose from. One of them is called a tangerine cup, which was soft ice cream in a glass with canned tangerines and spray cream for €6. There you probably rely too much on the ambience.

The Seewarte is a very nice restaurant. Some of the pitches have a lake view. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating. The food is delicious. There is also a snack bar that offers hot meals without a break. You can eat there and eat in the open space right by the lake. The food in the snack bar is also very tasty.

I think as a former delicatessen retailer and current manager of a catering wholesaler, I can make judgments about the food, ambience and service. I visited the Seewarte twice during my bike tour from Weimar to the Baltic Sea. I can say that I have already tested and enjoyed many star chefs. The only difference between the Observatory and the Star House is the lower price and the abundance on the plate...It was gigantic...the harmony of the flavors with the picture on the plate. Please keep it up...I saw an Asian colleague in the kitchen. This is the only way I can explain these influences and the Asian touch. By the way, there were also charming and competent Asian colleagues in the service...I deeply welcome this development in our gastronomy...Friendliness is the first part of enjoyment...I am looking forward to the next visit and will definitely make a detour to this inn Take purchase...

Were traveling by bike. Our stopover at the Seewarte was wonderful. A cool Alster and a bratwurst with a view of Schwerin's inner lake strengthened us to continue cycling.

Great restaurant just outside Schwerin. I can highly recommend it for larger celebrations, then you can celebrate directly by the water. Food is really delicious.

The worst meal I've ever been served in a restaurant. I had ordered chanterelles with a schnitzel and hash browns and mentioned that I don't like bacon. What came were chanterelles with bacon that were not seasoned, a boring schnitzel without any additional seasoning and industrial rösties. Everything is just disgusting.

Very nice restaurant with a covered terrace. Attentive and friendly staff. The food is very good 👍, especially the fish dishes from fish soup to fried trout to the fish platter!!! Reservations are a must as there are always many guests visiting the restaurant. Still not a long wait!!! Keep it up!

Best fries in all of Germany. Veggie sausage is at its finest. The staff in the summer garden behind the counter are fantastic and on point. If the sun were still shining now there would definitely be someone who would whine, it's too 🔥;)

Last week I celebrated my big birthday with my family and friends at the Seewarte. It was a wonderful celebration, everything came together. The arrangement went excellently, all of my wishes were taken into account. The atmosphere was great, the rooms were perfectly equipped and everything was beautifully and stylishly decorated and set. Everything very clean!!! The food was fantastic and served deliciously. The team was friendly, hardworking, fast and very attentive/careful. My guests were completely satisfied. Me too of course. That's why I would like to thank the entire Seewarte team for the successful evening and the wonderful celebration. We have often eaten and celebrated at this location and would love to do so again! A big compliment and a huge thank you! We definitely recommend it!

I went there at short notice on the recommendation of a car dealer without booking seats beforehand. There were really still 2 places for us. We weren't disappointed. Fast service and great food. A little more expensive than elsewhere, but no matter. We enjoyed it. Had sour meat with fried potatoes and wide ribbon noodles with chicken strips.

Very good restaurant with excellent food and service. Belongs to the upper price category. However, it was the first time for us that we had to pay 6.50 euros for a large beer. 🙈

We had rump steak and burgers. Unfortunately the wrong cutlery came, no steak knife, unfortunately none of them were salted, afterwards is always very unprofessional. Unfortunately a bit stuffy as there is little or no fresh air. Then you had to pay for a person who couldn't come due to illness. I think a location of this class has to do better, without objection from the guests, you don't want to appear rude, especially when you're there with a lot of people. Yesterday, June 28th, we wanted to have dinner at the Seewarte based on a recommendation from our landlady. Since experience shows that it is difficult to find space in good restaurants, I called to reserve a table. I asked specifically, with a dog and a person in a wheelchair. The answer was that everything is possible and they are looking forward to seeing us. So off we went to the Seewarte, the access to the restaurant was great for disabled people, with a ramp and good solid ground. In the restaurant we were greeted by a young lady, but her face was more than astonished. That's not possible with a wheelchair, we only have stairs. The beer garden was already closed at 7 p.m. but in the winter garden there were tables and chairs but nothing set up. We pointed out to the young woman that we had pre-ordered with a dog and a wheelchair. She would have to see and came back with a young man who wanted to carry me up the stairs in a wheelchair, which of course I refused. The person in charge then came and, after we pointed it out again, said that we had pre-ordered by phone, with a dog and a wheelchair. The answer was that no one called her. We then asked if we could perhaps eat in the winter garden. The answer was short and sweet, no, not possible. We then left this inhospitable place angry and completely disappointed. I find this kind of impossible, first luring people in and then telling them that it doesn't work. As a disabled person in a wheelchair you have to do without a lot of things, but for me such rude behavior that is not willing to compromise is discrimination against disabled people and cannot be tolerated. I advise every disabled person to avoid these restaurants, I cannot recommend it, disabled people in wheelchairs are not welcome here, so ZERO points.

We were in the garden café on a sunny Sunday. As expected, it was a bit fuller (even the bike racks were overcrowded) and we were prepared for a longer wait at the self-service snack bar. But no... boom, it was our turn despite the long queue. Great team on site! We took our cake and coffee, both of which turned out to be very tasty, and sat down in the stunningly cozy garden restaurant. Individual seating groups on the lawn, with shaded areas and a view of Lake Schwerin. We recovered well and were then able to continue cycling strengthened. There are also hearty dishes for hungry mouths at a snack bar next door.😁 Highly recommended!

I can only recommend. Stopped there after a bike ride, just like last year. Delicious freshly tapped beer and a little something to go with it. We had fries/currywurst... Very tasty and the fries were first class so I actually got another portion (because they were so tasty) The staff was super friendly and very committed. I'd love to come back and have already arranged to meet the landlord - I'll be back in 3 weeks - and I don't live next door. Keep it up, service, quality and ambience are good.

On my bike tours on Lake Schwerin, I'm already looking forward to being able to stop here at the start... I mean the business outside right on the water. It's just awesome to sit by the water with delicious food and unwind. I usually have the Rostbrätel with salad… and the Swedish ice cream sundae for dessert. I hope I'll find time to visit you often this year!!! My recommendation... go there by bike when the weather is nice, as the parking lot is often very full. ... many greetings also to the nice gentleman from the grill, with whom you can have a chat and who refines the salads so beautifully!

We were in the summer garden after a bike ride in the adjacent summer garden. Coffee and cake on cardboard… a no go! But the view is great! Nevertheless, we won't be coming back here for one stop.

Unfortunately the outdoor area was closed from 6 p.m. I can't remember this being the case in previous years.

Very good food, something for every taste. Service very attentive. Interior and exterior extremely attractive. The view of the lake... what more could you want. Simply class. Always worth a visit. Our announcement that we would have a German Shepherd with us was no problem. We were given a table in a corner so that our dog could also find his place. Great.

We had ordered a table for 6 people, but at very short notice there were only five of us. This annoyed the service and they pointed out to us that next time we should let them know in advance so that we could move the tables apart and accommodate more guests. When you are "welcomed" like that, you actually want to leave straight away, you feel unwanted. We still enjoyed the food but I don't know if I would like to come back again!

Were at the snack bar by the water. With such a great place, I wished for a nicer outdoor area and, above all, better care from friendlier staff. The fact that I get my hot coffee in a cardboard cup for cold drinks is neither sustainable nor acceptable. All the plastic rubbish bins everywhere don't really improve the ambience....... overall, apart from the beautiful piece of nature, very disappointed.

Jeder meiner Gäste konnte sich von der Karte etwas bestellen, allen hat es prima geschmeckt, es gab nicht einen Funken der Beanstandung. Die Atmosphäre und der Service waren nicht zu toppen. We have often celebrated our family celebrations in the observatory and were always very satisfied. However, the service has deteriorated incredibly. Grumpy and grumpy waitresses are now the order of the day. The unprofessional atmosphere ruined our last birthday so much that we unanimously decided not to visit the Seewarte again. We would rather invest our money in another restaurant where we receive a friendly welcome. Addendum: Regarding your answer that you should give feedback on site so that you can respond to it: We did it, and we weren't there just once. The reason for this public review is so that future guests should be forewarned so as not to be disappointed like we were.

We were able to enjoy the delivery service for a birthday party in the form of a great buffet. From the offer to delivery it was simply great. All the guests were thrilled and found it very, very tasty. It worked great with renting dishes and picking them up the next day. The pots were so full that we could easily have served 50 more guests. That's how it should be when you treat yourself to this service. Simply great. We were thrilled again.
