We were turned away on Saturday at 7:40 p.m. because the kitchen was closing. So, anyone who runs a restaurant like this clearly doesn't need the business.

No, everything is very simple and a bit dingy. You don't have to go there. There's no view of the lake.

My partner and I stopped here spontaneously during a weekend trip. Even though there was a group of people there and the restaurant was actually full, we were seated immediately. The food arrived fairly quickly and was impressive in both quality and portion size. Despite the full house, the waitresses were in a very good mood and were very pleasant and entertaining. The See Idyll is a bit off our usual routes. That's probably why we haven't been here in ages. But we had planned to stop by today, and we weren't disappointed. Yes, it's an old restaurant with simple, not ultra-modern decor. But that's precisely what makes this place so charming, and it's also very well-kept. Everything here is a bit like it used to be: the menu is good, home-style, and the prices are moderate. We received a very friendly welcome, ordered a schnitzel gypsy style and the trout Müllerin, and were both very satisfied with our delicious meals. In any case, we've resolved not to let too much time pass before we come back.

Yesterday, 24 of us were there for dinner for an 80th birthday. It was a fantastic meal, and the service was simply first-class, very friendly, and always very accommodating. I can only praise the See Idyll and my guests, and I'm happy to recommend it.

Simple restaurant serving German cuisine, but idyllically located and with very good food. What I didn't like was the fact that I didn't receive a receipt. The waitress looked at me like a scoundrel, so she didn't even know what that was. When I paid with a card, she must have been to the manager in the meantime, and he had ordered it. The receipt has everything you need listed. I had just bought a new car for my business, so this was a business meal, which I naturally wanted to deduct for tax purposes. So, I wonder why restaurateurs aren't required to take some kind of basic business administration course or something before they're let loose on humanity... 😉

Never again! Waited 1.10 hours for the food. Then politely asked... the food wasn't even prepared! then wanted to leave.... the drinks were taken away without an apology.... the answer was rude..... thank you very much for the lovely evening... it was only Mother's Day!

Beautifully situated by the lake, with excellent on-site parking. Upon opening the door, the immediate smell of old frying grease hit us. We received a very friendly welcome. The furniture was past its best, but it was clean. The service was very pleasant and friendly, though a bit inattentive at times. The price/performance ratio is very good. However, the execution left a few things to be desired. My schnitzel was still raw, and my wife's fish was completely overcooked. But whatever... We still had a great time with friends, and the evening will remain a fond memory. Even though we had to wash all our clothes afterwards!

I wanted to eat there on Saturday, March 22, 2025, while traveling from Hamburg, but was unfortunately turned away, stating that everything was reserved. However, the lady at the counter was very friendly and explained this to me in a very polite manner. I'm happy to come back and will try again on a whim.

Unfortunately, the level of the previous visits could not be maintained during the last one. Unfortunately, some of those with me were not entirely satisfied with the quality of the food.

Of course nicer in summer because of the terrace. In winter I sit by the real fireplace, which is still heated with wood. Already cozy. The spiced meat is one of the GDR classics, as is the solyanka. This really only exists in the East. The schnitzel is a topic in itself and is also topped with the seasoned meat - a real meat bomb to fill you up... The friendly table service is so relaxed that it's as cool as if you were visiting the family... Keep it up!

Cozy little restaurant on Lake Ostorfer with an outdoor terrace for the warmer months and a fireplace room (winter garden) for the cooler months. Simple rustic furnishings, everything clean, friendly staff. Good selection of food, desserts and drinks at fair prices. The food tastes good, we have never been disappointed here and would love to come back. Free parking available directly on site.

We sat here together after a funeral service. Everything was beautifully laid out, there was a delicious soup, very good sandwiches and cakes. We had a lovely time here in a nice atmosphere, with friendly service, a view of the lake and a warming fireplace. Really recommended if you want simple elegance and peace.

We recently had dinner here with the whole family. The service was friendly, but she also seemed a bit stressed. The ambience inside is very outdated, which unfortunately didn't create a real feel-good atmosphere. The food was okay in terms of price, but nothing special, the portions were ok in size. Unfortunately, after eating we were no longer noticed. My kids were looking forward to some ice cream, but after waiting over 20 minutes with no service, we finally got up, paid and left. In addition, there were cobwebs everywhere in both the toilets and the dining room and we were worried that the coating on the wooden ceiling might fall on our food. We won't come again.

After making a personal reservation the day before (unfortunately we couldn't be reached by phone!) we were in the restaurant at 12.30 p.m. The sun terrace is spacious, but the tables are very narrow. Conversations at the neighboring table can be easily followed. The food is very tasty and the prices are not overpriced. I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience. I don't understand some of the reviews here. If it's open until 9 p.m., the kitchen usually closes at 8 p.m. and follow-up work is carried out. A chef like that spends a good 9 hours in the kitchen and I think that's something people tend to forget! Some have completely lost touch with empathy. It's a shame at this point. Now about the food, we thought it was fantastic and thank you for it and for the service ☺️🙏 Right on the lake and very idyllic.

So the food is good, but if you go there at 7:45 p.m. and don't get anything to eat, I think that's shameful. It is also open until 9 p.m. Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time that we didn't get anything, so this restaurant was done for us!

Some requests for changes to the meal were not taken into account. In addition, the food is not intoxicating. For example, canned mushrooms are used in the mushroom sauce. Sunday, 11:37 a.m. The door to the restaurant was open. We didn't have a reservation. We were told we wouldn't be up until 12 p.m., if necessary, go for another lap? No hospitality. When it was -1 degrees outside, they didn't come up with the idea of ​​offering us a table and, if necessary, letting us choose a drink. We think our restaurants are doing so badly. Two other couples who entered the restaurant when we left left the restaurant again, we saw that from the car. In this day and age, every owner would have to fight for every guest who comes and be happy that they enter the house and not brush them off as if they don't feel like welcoming guests. We want to support the local restaurants but this is the second time this has happened to us and we are extremely disappointed and not just with this restaurant. That's really a pity.

Im Restaurant wird eine tolle Auswahl an mecklenburgischer Küche, zum Teil auch vegetarisch, angeboten. Gut schmecken tut es immer, weshalb es, zusammen mit dem charmanten Ambiente und der sympathischen Bedienung, immer zu einem gelungenem Besuch wird.

Plätze vorab bestellt. Super Bedienung, ging alles sehr schnell und freundlich. Kinder wurden mit integriert .Kann man nur weiterempfehlen.

....wir waren mit 6 Personen am 4.10 zum Mittagessen im Seeidyll.Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, die Bestellung wurde schnell aufgenommen und die Teller sehr ansprechend angerichtet serviert...meine Mutter hatte ihren 85. Geburtstag und ihr Eisbein wurde mit Wunderkerze serviert, vielen lieben Dank an die Kellnerin.Das Essen war sehr gut, die Portionen reichlich,frisch zubereitet und zu einem fairen Preis.

Speisen sind super lecker. Meiner Meinung nach auch faire Preise. Hier bekommt man ein super Rumpsteak mit Beilage schon für unter 25€ und wird auch satt. Die Anrichte des Tellers war sehr schön. Wir bleiben Stammkunden..
