Restaurant & Cafe Heidehaus in Nettetal

A beautifully situated inn with a tradition dating back to the 70s. Unfortunately, the food is well-intentioned but not particularly well-executed.

The new owners of the Heidehaus in Nettetal have done everything right. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food is excellent. The portions are generous and prepared with attention to detail. From the appetizer to the dessert, everything was perfect. We were completely satisfied and can confidently recommend the Heidehaus.

The food was good, and the atmosphere was nice. The beer garden is definitely very nice in the summer.

Actually, everything's fine! The prices are very high. And when you pay €33 for a small rump steak and they charge extra for the mayonnaise with the fries, that's a rip-off in my opinion!

A beautifully located restaurant with a large outdoor terrace. The service was exceptionally good and attentive. Plenty of parking spaces. The food was excellent!!! Highly recommended! We had a lovely evening. We were also impressed by the fact that children are very welcome here and were given art supplies and a lollipop as a farewell treat. If you're looking for a relaxed evening, this is the place to be.

We ate there for the second time today. Everything was just perfect again. The great ambiance, great service, and outstanding food. I can't find a single point of criticism. Unfortunately, since I can't write a second review, I'll just have to add it below this one. We celebrated our wedding at the Heidehaus on Saturday. A wonderful room, great service, and, as always, outstanding food. Our guests were thrilled. The chef is very attentive and friendly, the waiters seem very happy, and I'm particularly impressed by one particular waiter. He also served us on our special day. All our requests were met. We couldn't have chosen better than to use the Heidehaus for this celebration. It remains our favorite restaurant and is even more so. The Mühlrather Mühle is also run by the same chef. We want to try out that ambiance sometime. The food will probably be just as good as at the Heidehaus. 😊

Delicious food, a beautiful location, and friendly, attentive service—what more could you want? Prices are acceptable, though the nearby street in front of the terrace is a bit of a nuisance. Nevertheless, we'd be happy to come back. It's best to make a reservation in advance—we were lucky to be there early this morning, as everything was fully booked with larger groups later on.

A beautiful location and very attentive staff. Even without a reservation on a Sunday, they did everything to accommodate our requests. Excellent value for money, and the service was always professional and friendly. The head waiter always has a lighthearted joke to keep you laughing. We'd love to come back! Highly recommended.

We ordered takeaway food for the first time today. It was ready in no time, unpacked at home, and it was still really hot. It tasted absolutely delicious, just as we've come to expect. I highly recommend the Heidehaus.

Yesterday, four of us went to dinner. We had reserved a table online in advance. The food and service were excellent. We were delighted with the ambiance. We would definitely go back.

It was our first time eating at the Heidehaus, but it certainly won't be the last. From the welcome to the ambiance, the service, and, of course, the food, we can only say: top, top, top. We'd definitely be back.

We booked a table for 6 p.m. Initially, the service was good. The starter arrived relatively quickly after ordering. Then the service deteriorated considerably. People around us were already eating, including those who arrived after us. When we asked, we were told, "There are 100 people in the room, and everything is cooked according to the best available menu," meaning not according to the order. Then we noticed that we didn't have our salad for the main course yet. It arrived quickly. The main course took a while to arrive. At 8 p.m., it finally arrived. We could hardly eat anything because the meal break was simply too long. As an apology, we were given a round of schnapps, which was nice at first. But then it turned out that it was the schnapps everyone gets at the end; we just got it earlier. That was it. And unfortunately, we didn't think that was acceptable at all. The food was good, but the presentation could have been improved. Price/performance ratio was so-so; a non-alcoholic wheat beer cost just under €6. Bottle of still water 0.75l €7.90. Coke 0.2l €3.30. Pljeskavica (a kind of rum) €19.80. Due to the poor treatment we received, the extremely long wait for our food, and essentially no compensation, it was our first and last time.

All in all a successful visit to the restaurant! Our food (steak, chicken and grill) was really to the point and the portions were generous, for an absolutely fair price! The ambience was nice and the volume was pleasant. Toilets clean and tidy, staff friendly and open-minded. What struck us as particularly positive: One of the few restaurants where you are served by waiters who actually seem to have learned their trade.

Food was “ok”, service tried to be casual which can be really annoying! What I haven't had anywhere else is that you have to pay extra if you want rice instead of fries! Check the bill afterwards, unfortunately drinks that you didn't have end up on the bill! Out of 5 invoices, 3 were like this!

We've been there quite often, several times with a group of 8 people for Christmas Day, occasionally with four people and today quite spontaneously with two people. As always great. Very friendly, familiar, accommodating, like friends. 🫶It's like you've known each other forever. Very nice.🥰🥰 No matter whether it's the boss himself, the nice waiter who always has a nice saying. The food is sensational, portions are very large and you can hardly finish them. A great atmosphere so all in all top. Thumbs up and deserves all the stars. There were just two of us who spontaneously went there for dinner today. (otherwise always with several people) As usual, you were given a friendly welcome, even without a prior reservation. Very familiar, the boss greets you personally with a relaxed saying and the cellars are also friendly and with one or two nice sayings on their lips. Food is very tasty. The food is very tasty, big compliments to the kitchen. It would be nice if music was played in the restaurant to improve the atmosphere. I would also like to praise the waiters who are excellent but I think more waiters are needed. We had to wait a little longer, but overall we are satisfied. Went for Christmas 🎄 🎅 first Christmas Day, reserved a table well in advance, at 7:30 p.m. for five. We were assigned a table in the back hall, which we didn't like because it didn't create an atmosphere and was too loud. After consulting the owner, we were assigned a table in the front area without any problems, which was perfect. The food was also good again, as it had been many times during our visits. Thank you, it was good again.

Leider hat uns diese Location das Weihnachtsfest verdorben. Waren am 1.Weihnachtsfeiertag mit einer Gruppe von mehreren Leuten dort. In der vorab online einsehbaren Speisekarte, die nur für die Weihnachtszeit aktuell ist stand klar ersichtlich das es eine Beilagen Änderung gegen eine Gebühr von 1,50€ gibt. Aufgrund dessen das dort jeder sein passendes Gericht zusammenstellen kann haben wir einen Tisch reserviert. Leider sind wir am Abend durch ein kurze Begrüßung mit den Worten: es gibt keine Änderungen bei den Beilagen empfangen worden. So gut wie alle Gerichte mit Pommes ?! Diese durch etwas anderes zu ersetzen, ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit! Vom Kellner nur blöder Kommentar, es würden nicht gehen. Obwohl es in der Karte steht ? Man könne sich beim Chef beschweren, diesen hat man allerdings nie zu Gesicht bekommen. Es wurde eine Ignoranz an den Tag gelegt die weder auf der scheinbar ”guten Qualität“ des Essen beruht, noch lag es an dem guten Service. Naja für den Großteil der Gruppe war der Abend ”akzeptabel“. Für mich reine Zeitverschwendung! Beim Anblick der anderen Gerichte, war ich auch froh nichts bekommen zu haben! Beim bezahlen wurden dann plötzlich 65€ für Dessert zuviel abgerechnet, alles sehr kuriose Methoden. Für mich ist der Laden nach diesem Abend gestorben und nur noch zu verachten!

The welcome was very friendly, the service was very attentive and very friendly (a bit too much). It was drafty where we sat and it wasn't comfortable. As for the food, it was okay, it could have been warmer and the strudel dough wasn't baked properly. Usually strudel dough is brownish in color and is soft and juicy. Disappointing!

Everything was just delicious and fresh. I think it wasn't the last time we were guests here. A great addition to the gastronomy here in our area. We'd love to come back

We have been to the Heidehaus several times. The food always tasted good and was nicely prepared. The waiters were friendly and always tried hard. Unfortunately, the absolute disappointment was a request for our wedding reception. Unfortunately, there was no response to multiple contacts via the email address advertised online. Then I tried by phone. I was told we should just come by between 12 and 1 p.m. during the week and the boss would then be in the house for a meeting. A fixed appointment was expressly not necessary! When we arrived at the Heidehaus around 12 p.m. on a weekday, the boss was supposedly in the office and we were asked to wait a moment. After about 10 minutes I was asked for my phone number, all the details I needed to know for planning our event were noted and I was assured that the boss would contact me in the next few days to arrange an appointment. This was 3 weeks ago now! I have the feeling our event is not desired. Despite the numerous advertisements from Heidehaus, especially for birthdays and wedding celebrations, such a request is not responded to. Unfortunately very sad and disappointing!

Online reservation remained unanswered. Only an uncovered table remained on site between the exit and the counter. German-Jugo cuisine is mediocre, with a portion of frozen food and is typical of an excursion restaurant. The staff: overworked, therefore unfortunately inattentive. There are no quick jokes between hitting on female guests and rude jokes at the bar. Too bad.

I can only recommend this restaurant to everyone. Fantastic food and an amazing team. The menu is small but the dishes are super tasty and fresh. We come here regularly and it will stay that way

Super, we waren onderweg met de motor en hier aan gegaan voor een diner ( alleen hoofdgerecht) Werden erg vriendelijk ontvangen door het personeel. Mochten achterin de zaal plaats nemen ( beetje ongezellig) maar doet vriendelijk personeel. Het eten is echt vers, salade en kippen snitzel met friet. Erg mals en lekker klaar gemaakt. En zeker waar voor je geld!

Während unserer Fahrradferien (1 Woche Ende August) suchten wir jeden Abend ein Restaurant auf. Leider entdeckten wir das Heidehaus erst am zweitletzten Abend. Das Essen hat uns (4 Erwachsene) sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Auswahl der Speisen fanden wir sehr gut. Es war alles frisch zubereitet und die Portionen waren gut bemessen. An unserem letzten Abend bestellten wir die ebenfalls angebotenen kleineren Speisen und waren genauso begeistert, wie am Abend zuvor. Die Bedienung war ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sowohl im Außen- als auch im Innenbereich wohl und willkommen gefühlt.

You can't complain about the food, everything was satisfactory. It's only shameful if you order a table online for six people and you show up at the restaurant and the first thing you hear from the waiter is that they haven't made a reservation. On the occasion of my 25th birthday we decided to go out to eat at Heidehaus. The food was incredibly tasty, the atmosphere was very pleasant and the waiter was extremely friendly. Another visit is definitely planned!

Today we wanted to eat at the Heidehaus for the first time in years. Unfortunately we had to wait for a waiter in the back of the terrace who apparently didn't want to give us a table. Then we referred us to the waiter in the front area who was even less keen to be spoken to After standing around stupidly in the area for 15 minutes, we left the place without having accomplished anything. We definitely won't go there again with such polite staff. Conclusion once and not again.

Waren zu zweit da und hatten das gleiche Essen bestellt. Leider war ein Hähnchenfleisch (3Stück)noch ROH und der Kellner nahm den kompletten Teller meiner Tochter wieder mit. Nach 20minuten bekam sie einen komplett neues Menü, jedoch war ich schon mit meinem Essen fertig und somit mußte auch sie alleine essen. Einfacher wäre es gewesen nur ein neues Stück zu bekommen und nicht den kompletten Teller zu entsorgen. Nachdem die Rechnung von über 50 Euro bezahlt war bot man uns einen espresso auf Kosten des Hauses an leider trinken wir keinen Kaffee. Hätten uns gefreut wenn man unser 2. Getränk nicht berechnet hätte, welches wir bestellt hatten weil wir ja auf den neuen Teller so lange warten mussten.

The mushroom sauce for the schnitzel tasted like a finished product. It was a mushroom, cut into 3 parts, in the sauce. Unfortunately the lunch menu has been abolished.

The food was ok.As expected. The restaurant is also tastefully decorated. At 9:45 p.m. we were asked to pay. Asked to leave the restaurant at 10 p.m. We took the last drink that hadn't been taught to us at a bar table in the garden. The lights were then turned off there. Since there are many Croatian restaurants in the area that treat their opening times and guests differently, I won't be coming back.

Actually everything was very good. Food/service window seat. Apparently it's a popular restaurant for dog owners. As soon as dogs come in the door they start barking. For me it's also about the topic of allergies and hygiene. As a former dog owner, I can probably write this.

We are very disappointed. Unfortunately, the Heidehaus has deteriorated somewhat. Staff superficial and not really interested. The dishes are carelessly prepared without any other garnish, and the eye eats too. But if the chicken fillet is also partially raw, unfortunately that doesn't work at all. We have the impression that the owner is urgently asked to be there more often. We are very sorry, but we will not be visiting this restaurant again in the near future.

We were there today (03/23/24) at 4:50 p.m. and asked for a table. The waiter was friendly and wanted to check. When my partner came in with the dog, the waiter said straight away that unfortunately there was nothing available that would fit the time. He really only looked into the room for a few seconds and rejected us straight away. At the time, a table in the front area was occupied. So there were still quite a few tables free as far as we could see. If he had told us that we had, for example, an hour, it would have been different, but we have the feeling that we were rejected because of our little dog.

The ambience has become very nice. The service is great. The guests are looked after and asked if everything is okay. I only give the food 2 stars because it is not freshly made. Frozen goods suffer and the starter soups are out of the bag. Who likes it? Not me personally.
