Great ambiance, Good food, Great taste, Greater selection.

The food was okay. The schnitzel was good, but the fries were unfortunately only lukewarm. Just barely edible. The price was on the higher end. What I don't understand is why I have to pay extra if I want fries instead of croquettes or fried potatoes. The staff was friendly, but a bit overwhelmed.

Tuesday; schnitzel day. Tasty salad in advance, delicious large schnitzels with tasty fries. Smooth service and good price.

No. Little friendliness... you felt annoying, the vegetarian food was forgotten despite being ordered in advance and reminded. Then an unappetizing looking "schnitzel duo" came out of the deep fryer, which was still stuck together and still frozen. Incredible!!!! No apology to the guest followed! Children were rudely sent away when they wanted to ask something at the counter. Drinks were constantly forgotten or mixed up. Very disappointing. With so many guests, the toilet should be checked every now and then... 3 stars for meat dishes. Looked really good. Care is taken to ensure that money is made quickly through additional drinks for groups. Napkins nicely folded, dishes partially "chipped". Not recommended.

Hidden gem in the woods, delicious food, large portions, good price, fantastic location.

Went here on schnitzel Tuesday to have a nice meal, just to be on the safe side I made a reservation via the website at 6:30 PM and that went well, it was a busy day but it was also during the May holidays, nevertheless the starter and main course were on the table quickly. The 4 of us had a delicious meal here, but the iced coffee is not recommended, it had little taste. for the rest, beautiful surroundings, play equipment for children. all in all a good experience.

Without a table reservation you had to sit in the anteroom, although there were a number of rooms with tables available. Of course, that was visually impressive; almost all the tables in the anteroom were occupied, which otherwise would have been visually confusing.

Wir können die teilweise schlechten Bewertungen überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Die Bedienung war schnell und freundlich, das Essen (Salat und Schnitzel) waren ausgezeichnet und die Portionen reichlich. Wir (3 Frauen) haben wunderschön auf der gut besuchten Außenterrasse gesessen und waren mit Sicherheit nicht das letzte Mal dort.

I would like to share my impressions of my festival. I can't give 5 points, no, but 5 POINTS Plus. The organization was really impressive and I would like to give great praise to Alex and Olivera and the entire staff. The buffet was great. Everyone enjoyed it and there was a fantastic selection. The quality of the food was very good.

Last night I ordered “Chicken breast fillet with porcini mushroom sauce with pineapple and croquettes”. I wanted to eat something light. But it was just dry chicken breast, not fillet, with a thick gray-brown pulp in which I found tiny pieces of mushrooms (certainly not porcini mushrooms) and 2 pieces of pineapple. The simplest croquettes (6 pieces) were lying on the plate unmotivated and so loose and loose that one of them rolled off me. There was no vegetable or salad. No decorations on the plate. And that for €25! A joke! For dessert there was only ice cream sundaes and waffles. An imposition! No more! The positive: The waiter was friendly and attentive and there was a Julischka for free.

The food was good but not special. It was also affordable. Staff were friendly. It's near the woods, which is nice. First walk and then eat. There is a nice large terrace.

For years we loved stopping in at the Birkenhof for a coffee after a walk. This year the coffee only tastes like water. We've been drinking latte macchiato, cappuccino and iced coffee for the last three weeks. Everything was inedible. Too bad. It was always our favorite café.

Tuesday cutting day. Good snitzel for 12 euros. But the staff are so grumpy. Especially when they didn't get a tip, it got even worse. Not a decent good day. And they have never heard of a receipt. When we arrived we were initially only allowed to sit outside when it was just 18 degrees.

Hi, I went to the Birkenhof today in the great weather on the terrace, the service is super nice and attentive, we ate a Wiener Schnitzel both with fried potatoes, it was really delicious, but I had half of it packed up, you always have something to complain about in this case: it was too much 🤣🤣🤣🤣 just kidding, I had a great meal and had a great afternoon 🥰

Very cozy, atmospheric and not very expensive, I recommend it for romantic meetings with your loved one.

Excellent service, very friendly stuff. Food was so delicious and came really fast, even though there were a lot of guests. The children were happy after playing outside on the playground. Restaurant is in the middle of the nice forest. 100% recommended. Coming again

Highly recommended for lunch. Price-performance is top. Starter soup could have been a little warmer, but otherwise it is highly recommended for a meal during your lunch break.

Spontaneously ended up here with my family, looking for schnitzels in Germany. So no reservations either. Upon arrival it all looked beautiful. Once inside, we were seated at a table in a hall instead of in the dining room. The food took a long time and was not very tasty. Very dry and tough. Not again for us.

We celebrated our gold wedding anniversary here. What can I say? It was perfect! Starting with the advice, the decoration, the food was terrific, the service was very attentive. All our guests were thrilled. It was a thoroughly successful evening and we would like to thank you very much again.

Spareribs are all you can eat every Wednesday. Great advertising. Reserve a table 3 weeks in advance. Arrived there promptly at 7:00 p.m.! After the drink order came, we were told that the spare ribs were out. Poor planning. It was the last time for us.

Unfortunately I have to give one star because otherwise I can't rate it. We rented the bowling alley and then ate in the restaurant upstairs. The price-performance ratio is not right at all, the selection of the menu is reduced to a minimum, the waitresses are very friendly but completely overloaded, while the boss sits at the bar table with his partner and makes a big fuss. We didn't rent the bowling alley for €60.00 for 3 hours, but bought it. We won't be seen again.

Location looks nice from the outside, but has a lot of space on the inside. Food was OK. It was a shame that the child was served last, as he was already quite annoyed waiting for his food. Is there a lack of experience or do you not at least ask when the child should get their food?! I know at least good restaurants that ask whether the children's meal should be brought with the starters. Needs improvement.

Great location, delicious food and nice staff!

The only nice thing about this restaurant was the decoration and furnishings. As for the rest, we should have listened to the negative statements we received from so many sides!!! The waitresses were unfriendly, arrogant and snippy (men only!). We waited over 10 minutes until we were asked for drinks. The food was disappointing and the meat was either barely cooked or overdone.

We called there spontaneously and asked for a table and were told that there was still enough space available and that we should come. When we arrived there about half an hour later, we were greeted very friendly and given a seat. The restaurant was well occupied, but because it is so large, there were still enough seats available! The service was very polite and attentive and the best orders were taken and delivered very quickly. The food portions are insane and can only be managed for very good and very hungry guests. Overall we were very happy with the food, but for us it could have been seasoned a little better. We would come back.

The restaurant is big, very big! Actually too big. The entire decor and ambience is a mix of everything, from green to red to yellow. The map is still at the level of the early 2000s. The pictures for the desserts could be from the ice cream parlor on the next corner. The dishes on offer and also the dessert menu are no longer really contemporary. The salads that were handed out before the meal are no longer served anywhere. That's just old fashioned. Here you notice that you haven't kept up with the times. There is basically only ice cream or waffles. You won't find a real dessert like you can find anywhere today. As I said, ice cream or waffles... The food was okay, it wasn't anything fancy or special, but it was solid. We ordered four steaks, all four should be medium. All four were not done correctly! If you had insisted and been very accurate, these four steaks would definitely have had to go back to the kitchen!! You can go here, but you definitely shouldn't expect anything special. The restaurant was clean, the people & employees were very friendly.

We ate on the so-called schnitzel day (offer). Ambiance despite advance reservation well....in the anteroom, so that it looks fuller for other random guests!? The staff understands little or no German, which is difficult when ordering and takes longer... Food is well for the "cheaper" price!? Carelessly done! After the meal, when we asked how long the restaurant was open (we were already there alone at 8:30 p.m.), we were "put off" with the time being 10 p.m.... Well, the lady of the house, Ms. Olivera Puzic, seemed very happy annoyed by us (their guests) so that we had to leave the restaurant quickly after paying....the lights went out shortly after us...not a good experience, in addition to incompetent service and especially the RUDENESS of the manager of the house (!!!! !) we won't be coming back and can't recommend it!!! Unfortunately, price/performance has fallen significantly over the last few years!!!

It was recommended to us, but unfortunately we were disappointed. Beforehand there was a salad plate that had been sitting for a while. Lettuce leaves were already brown, the cucumber slice was dry and it didn't work at all. Schnitzel carelessly laid out. Not for us anymore.

Schade, nicht gastfreundlich und ignorant! Wir waren heute mit 24 Pers. 3 Std. kegeln und anschließend mit 26 Pers.Abendessen. Die Bestellungen wurde nur zähflüssig aufgenommen. Kellner können kein deutsch, somit keine Verständigung möglich. Leider war dies öfter der Fall! Kein entgegenkommen vom Haus (Absacker) obwohl es beim Nachbartisch offensichtlich der Fall war. Eine Rücksprache war nicht möglich, man wurde schlicht weg ignoriert!! Wir kommen definitiv nicht wieder!!!

It's very nice to sit there, but unfortunately we didn't have a good experience with the food. I ordered a cheeseburger, but it was completely burnt. Then I got a replacement, but this was a completely different burger and it was also raw. Then I said that I didn't want a replacement burger anymore, a few minutes later the third burger came, again the wrong one. We then got it packed up. The schnitzel, however, was quite good.

You can tell that the waitress is competent and enjoys her work, you feel like you're in good hands from the first moment, and there's almost no need to mention that the food was excellent.

Restaurant Birkenhof, a beautiful location in the forest near the border crossing with Venlo, the Netherlands. We were here with 2 coaches, 70 people and the dinner buffet was delicious. Everything looked neat and attractive. Friendly hardworking service.

Mittagessen an einem Wochentag, weil gerade in der Nähe und gute Erinnerungen an dieses Lokal. Tische mit Reservierungschilder waren für uns tabu, aber nachfolgende Gäste hatten freie Wahl. Nachdem wir unsere Gerichte gewählt und bestellt haben, bekamen wir die Salate und anschl. Vorsuppe.Bis dahin okay. Meine Hauptspeise wurde jedoch abgeändert, da nur meine Speisekarte eine alte Version war. Weder eine Info noch eine Nachfrage für eine Alternative erfolgten zuvor nicht. Die vom Restaurant geänderte Speise entsprach nicht meinem Fall und war fad und trocken. Beim servieren wurde ich also vor vollendete Tatsachen gestellt und habe deshalb nicht direkt reagiert. Dafür weiß ich, dass mein Geld nicht mehr in dieses Lokal fließt.

Delicious food but very bad service. We waited almost two hours for the food...when we called in, they said it might take a while, it was busy. We understand that, but there are limits somewhere. It was funny that people who came in after us had their food quicker than us and some of them went home while we were still waiting. When we wanted to drink something at the end, we got the wrong drink twice. The waiter then wanted to start a discussion about what we had ordered. The service, apart from a very young boy, was very unfriendly, they didn't even ask if everything was as requested and there was no apology. This wasn't the first time and we'll definitely never come back... Too bad...

We come here often, but this time the skewer with meat was very tough and with a lot of fatty edges. 3 x the same dish and 3 x the same problem. The bacon also had sufficient fat. In any case, the ice cream dessert was ok.

We were here for the first time today. Today was schnitzel day. I ate a mushroom cream schnitzel and my husband ate a gypsy schnitzel. The schnitzels were large, tender and tasty. The sauces also tasted very good. There were also French fries and a mixed salad. We ate outside. There is a beautiful pond and beautiful flowers here. Everything seems very cozy and it's really big. There is plenty of seating. The waiters are all very nice and friendly too. We'll definitely come back here.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the critical voices. After being ignored for the first 10 minutes and not even having a menu, I then waited 70 (!) minutes for my food, only to be served a very carelessly prepared meal. Really a shame.

We've been to the Birkenhof several times over the last few years and each time it got worse! We won't go there anymore!! The service was underground! The waiters constantly looked away, just didn't look at the guest, he might want to order something!! We would have liked to drink more, but unfortunately it wasn't possible to order! 3 of 4 main courses came at the same time, after 10 minutes my husband went to ask if they had forgotten his dish. The arrogant waiter replied that they would never forget anything!! When he asked where his food was, he became hectic and went into the kitchen. The food was put on the table without a word of regret! I pointed out my missing side salad, but I'm still waiting for that! In the past it was definitely recommended, but today definitely not!!! The food was average, the friendliness was absolutely non-existent, absolute mass processing! Never again
