Restaurant-Café Caramina in Berlin

The food and drinks were delicious. The kitchen and service staff were very friendly and perfect hosts. We were a large group, but all our requests were still accommodated.

We had a truly lovely evening there yesterday with delicious food – from vegan and vegetarian to meat and fish dishes, there's something for everyone. The food tastes simply wonderful, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is friendly.

Ruined evening, if you don't order any more you shall leave the restaurant, that's not iranian hospitality, we ordered for 150 EUR, four people, as we didn't order any more we were asked to pay the bill. I talked to the waiter to give the feedback, that I had the feeling of being thrown out of the restaurant, expecting an apology, but I was told that I understood it just right, as new guests had to be placed inside because of us. He had asked us if we would like to order something else twice. To understand the situation right, we were just pausing and would have ordered more a little later. There are surely politer ways to handle situations like this.

It was very tasty and something special. The main course was specially adapted to my son's "simpler" tastes. Thank you! Very friendly, especially with a child. We sat outside.

Cozy and simple atmosphere, with an incredibly kind and thoughtful service. But it was the flavors that truly moved me. The mixed starter is full of delightful surprises: very simple, but executed to perfection, with different tastes bursting in your mouth. The walnut and date omelette is hands down one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten in my life. The saffron and cardamom tea was also a little gem. This place immediately made it into my top 10 favorite restaurants in Berlin. As a sweet coincidence, the soundtrack of the evening was another detail I’ll remember: dinner to the sound of Simon & Garfunkel, whom I personally love. Finally, a local spot that genuinely feels authentic without trying too hard, and with no obsession with looking cool. I can’t wait to go back.

A true gem among Persian restaurants in Berlin! I discovered Carmina by chance while traveling between Kreuzberg and Neukölln last week. Unfortunately, it was closed that day – but the restaurant appealed to me so much that I immediately took a photo to remember it. I went back the next day – and it was absolutely worth it! I tried several dishes, and absolutely everything tasted excellent. Fresh ingredients, fine spices, authentic flavors – simply top-notch! What was particularly nice: Later, I remembered that I had been there about three years ago – and I was absolutely thrilled then, too. The fact that the food impressed me so much again speaks volumes about the consistently high quality. The service was friendly and attentive, the ambiance warm and inviting. If you love Persian cuisine or just want to try something special, Carmina is definitely worth a visit!

I'm visiting Berlin and was delighted to find this Persian restaurant. I love and appreciate Persian cuisine, and all my expectations were exceeded.

We had Persian food for the first time, and it was incredibly delicious! Plenty of vegan options, good wines, comfortable outdoor seating, and friendly service – highly recommended!

I myself are Persian living in the Netherlands, and i LOVED the food!!!! Honestly in Holland you are not able to eat authentic persian food like (ghorme sabzi) as we did here. The Gherme is even better!!! Super nice street, super nice vibe, and THE BEST food. Would absolutely recommend it whenever you are in Berlin! There also have a lot of vegan options!!!!

I am amused by the people that find this place authentic. The foods we ordered tasted bland and out of can/freezer. And as an Iranian person, I am sure they are using the lowest quality of rice. I'm sorry to give such a bad review, but rice should be the star of the show in iranian dishes. Also for such a high price, the portions were super small. The atmosphere was friendly though, and the bread they served tastes good.

We ate here with the whole team - and it was really fabulous. We had the restaurant almost to ourselves, which made the evening very relaxing. The food is absolutely excellent and the staff are very accommodating. Deserved 5 stars. TIP: An easy-to-miss highlight is the Persian herb soup. Definitely not to be missed. Soul food at its best. Tastes heavenly.

The Caramina Restaurant offers delicious Persian cuisine with a wide selection of vegetarian, vegan, meat and fish dishes. The food is superbly seasoned. In summer you can sit under an illuminated awning and watch the goings-on in Schillerkiez. The operators are very nice, not intrusive. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

I have been here several times and all my guests are always satisfied. Quiet, nice atmosphere, very good service, delicious food, highly recommended!

Coziest terrace on this street. Tables are not too close together and it is the last part before the Tempelhof entrance. Friendly service and very good cuisine. Price-quality food is very good and drink prices are even rather low. Starter plate and iced coffee with vanilla ice cream are recommended

Had a lovely couple of evenings here. Delicious food, excellent friendly service. Lovely place to sit outside and people watch as people come and go from Templehof. Favourites were fessenjun and saffron ice cream.

The service was great! The Fesenjun was okay. Nothing special for the price, I would have expected a little more for 17 euros. Unfortunately, the vegan Fesenjun is not recommended at all; in terms of taste, most of what makes the dish special is simply missing. It's a shame, because it's actually not that difficult. Overall a great meal with generous portions and a taste that reminds you of maman’s cooking. The saffron ice cream and baghali polo were standouts.

Amaziiiiiiing experience 🥹🤤🤩 I don’t know how to describe it words but we went there in a group of three and we all ordered Dizi which we haven’t had in a long time. So our expectations were very high and not only they met our expectations but also exceeded them 🔥 We were that full that we couldn’t even move after that amazing meal! But that was not the end of the experience… we ordered Faloode & Bastani (desert) and again… it was awesome 🤩 Huge thanks to the oner and staff!

They serve old and canned food. Nothing is fresh. They took forever to take our order and the food took just as long to arrive at our table. All in all, 1.5 hours and 30 euros wasted. Only good for drinks and coffee maybe but don’t waste your money on their food menu.

I came across the restaurant by chance and have loved it every time since! You are always welcomed in a friendly manner, the dishes are very aromatic and super tasty. I particularly like the fact that in addition to the meat dishes, they also offer many vegetarian options! There are also good wines and I recently had great homemade cake for dessert. I'm a big fan of the food there - really delicious!

Deeeeelicious food! Saffron rice was so buttery, the black-eyed peas and greens were so flavorful, and my friend really enjoyed her lamb dish. The owners are warm and the vibe is peaceful and cozy. Lovely place, especially for a rainy day.

Akzeptieren nur Barzahlung und schreibt eine dilettantische Rechnung ohne Mwst. mit Stift und Zettel. Wohl ein Fall fürs Finanzamt. Essen ist überteuert und eher fad.

Beste originale persische Küche! Mein Adas pollo (Reis mit Datteln, Mandelsplitter und Rosinen) war sehr gut. Die Vospeise Mirsa ghasemi (Auberginen-Mus) das beste, das ich je gegessen hatte. Und ich hatte viele... :-)

Leider eine große Enttäuschung. Wer wirklich persisch Essen will, ist hier nicht gut aufgehoben. Es wird ein fader, verwässerter Abklatsch der persischen Originalspeisen in kleinen Portionen zu total überhöhten Preisen angeboten. Nicht einmal der "hausgemachte" Dough hat nach Dough geschmeckt, da ist der Gekaufte im Afghanischen Supermarkt an der Hauptstraße in Schöneberg besser. Das Ambiente erinnert eher an eine Kantine und die Bedienung konnte die Namen der Gerichte nicht richtig aussprechen. Perser habe ich keine gesehen, weder im Publikum noch in der Küche. Schon das hätte mir zu denken geben sollen.

Nach einem Spaziergang über das Tempelhofer Feld kamen wir beim Restaurant Caramina vorbei. Wir waren sehr neugierig auf die persische Küche. Wir probierten Fessenjun und Sereschkpolo. Es war köstlich!!

Essen mit Fleisch war lecker, veganes Essen war leider nicht besonders raffiniert gewürzt. Eher Bohnen und Spinat = okay. Portionen für knapp 20 € aber sehr klein und nicht besonders aufwändig (Töpfchen mit Soße/Gemüse/Fleisch) + Teller mit Reis.

Caramina wurde uns von Freunden empfohlen. Wir haben Auberginen Paste und Baghalipolo gegessen. Es hat einfach lecker geschmeckt und was uns auch sehr gefallen hat, dass hier eine gute Auswahl an guten Weinen gibt. Die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich und Preis&Leistung hat gestimmt. Wir kommen garantiert wieder.

We went with an international group of our friends from Sweden to Hungary and everyone loved it! thank you guys!

We had Dizi and Fesenjun. I grew up in Iran and the Dizi was far away from what it should be. It was meat and tomato mark and the rest of stuff cooked together, but that's not Dizi: the taste of meat-bones cooked for a long time and all the other tastes enmeshed together was not there. no Dry lime in it . Two major Dizi companions, raw onion and Sabzi was not there. Just some lifeless mint and petersill. And 24 € for just a "show" of Dizi is simply not a fair prise. Fesenjun was good, although not authentically iranian. But a good tasting dish in itself. the servietten are for me a sign of elegance of the owner, because they are the most neglected detail in restaurants.and here we had these very thin paper cheap ones that get sticky and torn together.

Ich habe zum ersten Mal persisch gegessen und es war so unglaublich lecker! Ich hätte große Lust, mich einmal durch die ganze Karte zu essen. Dazu gab es super freundliche Bewirtung mit netten kurzen Gesprächen. Ich würde jederzeit wieder hingehen!

Eine sehr angenehme Lokalität, die man am besten mit Freunden besucht, am langen Tisch die verschiedensten Speisen bestellt und genießt. Alles sehr frisch und lecker, besonders das persische Omelett gefiel mir. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, das Ambiente mit den schönen farbfrohen Bildern tragen zu einem entspannten gelungenem Abend bei, den man lange in Erinnerung hat.

Place seemed to be nice at first look and the menu looked really inviting. What a pity, that what I got for 13 euros was a plate full of rice and three microscopic pieces of aubergine. It didn't taste bad, but at the menu it seemed to be a normal course dish, not just full plate of rice for 13 euros. Totally not reccomending. It was also really rude of service first speaking with me normal English and pretending to be ,,nicht verstehen" when I complained about food. Total scam

Relaxing environment and great food

There's some work to do on implementing the quality of the dishes or the price, I can't pay almost 20 euro for a chicken leg and almost plain rice with raisins. You need to consider the price/quality ratio of the restaurant close to you, which is higher. Whish you best of luck.

Essen zu teuer. Für den Preis ist die Qualität und Menge nicht angemessen. Getränkepreise sind aber gut. Wartezeiten auf Essen und Service sind lang.

Essen war nicht schlecht aber eher wie zu Hause vorbereitet, dafür aber extrem teuer. Der Aperol war nicht gut uuund man kann nicht mit Karte zahlen :/ Ich werde leider nicht mehr kommen.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl in diesem freundlichen Ambiente! Topp! 👏

Sehr leckeres Essen: ich habe in diversen persischen Restaurants in Berlin gegessen, aber Caramina ist definitiv das beste! Hervorragender Safranreis (mit echtem, gutem Safran) und fein abgeschmecktes Fessenjun. Auch die Vorspeise Mirsa Ghasemi (Auberginenpaste) kann ich wärmstens empfehlen.

Delicious homestyle food, easy to get a table, chill atmosphere

The place looks nice and the menu sounds delicious. But we weren’t able to enjoy it. We tried two times, on a Sunday afternoon and in the evening, both times the place was not nearly half full but we waited for more than 15 Minutes without being addressed. When I asked the waitress she snapped at me she‘d be there in a minute. 10 mins. later she took the order of another table and started cleaning up another one. So we left … for good. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Very cozy family owned restaurant with authentic Persian food. They even serve several vegan dishes which taste delicious. It's located directly at the Tempelhofer Feld, so it's the perfect place to eat after a walk there. I totally recommend it to you, especially because of the lovely and super friendly people that work there! I ate there twice now and will come back several times more for sure!

Leider hat es uns gar nicht geschmeckt. Vorspeise war ok aber nicht selber gemacht eher Lidl Pasten gekauft.. die Hauptgerichte waren ebenso nicht lecker oder irgendwie geschmackvoll. Null gewürzt und lieblos. Sehr nette Bedienung ! Schade - weil die Lage super ist aber null zu empfehlen.,

Leider, muss ich meinen Vorredner:innen recht geben, die Wartezeit ist unmöglich lang. Eine Vorspeise sollte vor dem Hauptgericht kommen, wir haben über eine Stunde gewartet und das Restaurant war nicht voll. Das schlimmste jedoch war, dass die Kellnerin bei den wenigen malen an dem Sie bei uns am Tisch war, sagte sie hätte keine Zeit für uns. Am liebsten wäre ich gegangen, da ich aber nicht alleine war ging es nicht. Das Essen war lieblos angerichtet und hat sehr fade geschmeckt und zu allem übel war es extrem Teuer! Egal wie voll das Restaurant sein mag, wieso sagt man zu seinen Gästen man hätte keine Zeit für sie?! Mit Gastfreundschaft hat das nichts zu tun.

Wirklich gutes Essen, nette Bedienung und wir waren 10 Minuten bevor zugemacht werden sollte dort also alles super soweit. Leider kann man nur Bar zahlen, im Jahr 2022 für mich ein Grund hier einen Punkt abzuziehen. Leider gibt es auch kein Leitungswasser wie so häufig in Deutschland, bei der Hitze und einer Gruppe von 6 Personen die Getränke und Essen bestellt haben ebenfalls unverständlich, andere nehmen zwar einen symbolischen Betrag aber man bekommt es. Hier wurden wir einfach abgewiesen. Alles in allem also ein gutes Lokal mit wirklich guter persischen Küche und etwas gehobenen Preisen. Ob ich wieder hier herkomme, vielleicht, aber leider gibt es bessere Optionen.

The food had no taste at all. We also had a salad which I would never make for myself at home. I wouldn't recommend here to anyone. There was no quality.

the rumours are unfortunately consistent and true. pretty bland tiny overpriced portions and they only have one quite spicy woman serving who had more flavour than the food. 5 wee cubes of beef in sauce for over 14 euros.

Two days ago - March 2022 - we were joyfully discovering Berlijn and had juist cycled around Tempelhof park, when we accidentally discovered restaurant Caramina. We enjoyed a wonderful Iranian diner there (ghoime and gheyme - I hope my spelling is correct); had an excellent glass of Graubunder; sat there for hours in the sunshine, juist watching people and were honoured with the excellent service of our host, the lady of the manor. The restaurant is small, clean and is decorated very tastefully! Oh, and the coffee is great too! In short: we’ll go back and hope you do too! Ben & Rentsje, Netherlands

The food was ok,tho it was over priced. Unfriendly staff , she hesitated to explain the menu at first but she did reluctantly at the end.
