Aftab Station East in Berlin

Sunday noon, 21st September, I was there for lunch! First of all, no one came out to take the order until I went in, and a lady told me to go back outside, sit, and wait for her. I started my watch and counted, we waited 15 minutes after the lady told me that! Still no one came, so we left. It was such an embarrassment in front of my German friends! I assume now they understand better why we initially immigrated 🙂 These people could be less greedy and hire another helper! That one person doesn’t need to cook, manage orders, and do service all at once. It’s a pity to have such a perfect spot in Berlin and not serve people as you should.

I ate at your food truck yesterday at the IFA trade fair. I've never experienced such a delicious, tender, and juicy chicken dish. Thank you so much.

The food in the restaurant was delicious. Authentic, modern Persian cuisine. Super friendly service, and the restaurant's beautiful location on Kastanienallee. I'll definitely be back.

As an Iranian, I would give the food a score below zero. The Khoresh Gheymeh portion was too small and looked like it came from a can or at least, it wasn’t fresh at all. The meat seemed to have been added separately and not cooked together with the khoresh as it is supposed to be, and it had no reddish color, which was strange. Since the portion was too small, I ordered an extra khoresht, but it arrived cold especially the meat. The saffron was fake, like in many other restaurants in Germany, and I honestly wish they wouldn’t use saffron at all rather than using fake saffron which smell disturbing. The only positive thing was the waiter, who was kind and friendly. But overall, I wouldn’t eat there again and I don’t recommend it.

We had one of the most delicious starters called kashkobademjan! The main course for two had two types of Iranian stews one with aubergine and chicken and the other one with mixed herbs and chicken. The main course was served with Rice cooked to perfection.

By chance, I stumbled upon this small Persian restaurant on Kastanienallee with a friend from Paris. The ambiance and the menu immediately appealed to us. The owner, Rica, is a sweetheart; she made us feel like we were staying with friends, completely relaxed and cheerful. My celery bowl was unfortunately quite bitter (probably due to the limes that were cooked with it), but the chicken bowl with barberries was so delicious that we came back for a second meal – all the way from Charlottenburg! :-) Conclusion: Aftab is a lovely little restaurant that impresses with its attention to detail in its decor, interesting and delicious Persian dishes at a good price-performance ratio, and, above all, with the friendly and welcoming manner of Rica and her team. We'd gladly return!

The food isn't tasty. When we checked out, the older lady with shoulder-length brown hair tried to rip us off and didn't deduct the €10 discount from the final price, which NeoTaste had given us. When we pointed this out to her, you could see how annoyed she was that we'd caught her. I won't be coming back.

We had an amazing experience at Aftab Persian Street Food! We ordered the mixed menu for two, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. The hosts were also super friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend it! 😌

I've only ordered the bowls online so far, which were good. Today we went there and tried the platter for two. A great mix, perfect portion size, everything fresh (including the salad), and very tasty. The waitress was also super nice and unobtrusive. A plus point for the labeling of gluten-free dishes 🙏🏽.

The drinks of house, barberry lemonade and yogurt, are special and nice to try. Eggplant paste has a strong flavor of spices, was also not bad. The bowl tasted however mediocre, expected more toppings but came with mostly rice. Service was friendly but low price performance ratio.

I ordered an eggplant rice dish with yellow lentils, but what I received was completely different and frankly inedible. The dish contained overcooked, decomposed whole limes— overly sour and bitter and nothing resembling what was described or shown in the photo. It’s a disgrace that the restaurant can charge such a high price and scam paying customers like that. I have not been able to eat this and only lost money and my time.

As an Iranian, I ordered fesenjan for my friend. It was awful. What they call 'fesenjan' was actually just boiled chicken with stale rice and a bit of pomegranate paste. None of the authentic Iranian flavors we expect from fesenjan were there. It was completely bland and tasted old. The chicken didn’t smell good, and there wasn’t a single walnut—even though walnuts and pomegranate paste are essential for this stew. This was basically boiled chicken with leftover rice, with no flavor at all. I threw it away after one bite and made an omelet for my guest instead. It’s unbelievable—the quality of this restaurant’s food has been terrible for a year now. It used to be average, and I used to go there all the time because it’s close to my home. Such a bad experience.

Absolutely loved this place! We had no clue what to order so we got it all in menu for 2... and the food was incredibly delicious with unique flavors I hadn’t tried before. The lady who served us was just a vibe, would defintely recommend 👌

The Kashk-e Bademjoon was excellent, but the vegan variations of the dishes were just okay — not as impressive, especially since I’ve tried many Persian dishes. The service and atmosphere, however, were very homely and warm🌟

This restaurant serves mixed stew and rice. I've been there 3 times. The food they serve is typically leftovers of the week or at least NOT fresh food! But when you mix it with the rice or serve the stew in tiny bowls its hard to realise it! You have to be Iranian to realize that the food is not fresh! If you order a non-vegetarian plate for 2 , you still won't find any meat in the stews! There's only a separate bowl of chicken and ground beef, but there is no meet in the stews, as there should be! The non-vegetarian Fesenjan is made with mushroom! and there is no meat in Gheyme ang Ghorme sabzi! 2 Stars is just for the fresh Kashe-Bademjan as an Appetizer and the friendly staffs! Not for the main food, which wasn’t fresh at all!

We've always loved ordering here, but unfortunately the quality increasingly leaves something to be desired: the salad was rationalized away ages ago and now the bowls consist almost exclusively of rice and the ragout is becoming increasingly tasteless :( The price-performance ratio is no longer right at all..

The worst and smelliest food I saw was in this restaurant. Friends, I do not recommend it at all. I didn't even eat my food! I sent it the same way. The copper tray smelled like fish!! The food was at least one day old and it was not fresh at all!! scandalous

Unfortunately their persian stews are not even comparable with other alternative places in Berlin. They serve the stews as a bowl. In bowl, stew is hidden in rice. Their portions are small, ingredients are low quality. Especially for vegetarian versions. Even so, prices are higher than other good alternatives. Service is so slow and the owner lady is too chatty.

The food was really delicious, I was convinced right away on my first visit! The super friendly staff makes you feel really welcome, you receive very friendly service and you also get a friendly conversation.

I went to eat ghormeh sabzi there, As i read menu, I found out they serve Ghormeh sabzi with chicken instead of lamb meat, then I questioned the guy there, he told me, we only serve classic Persian foods, lmao Gaslighting at its finest

Absolutely recommended location with really delicious dishes. I was pleasantly surprised. There were three of us there and we hadn't had any contact with Persian food before. For this reason we followed the recommendation of the boss (I assume she is the owner - long black curls and gave instructions to the rest of the staff) and were not disappointed. It was amazing... Trust her and you'll have a fantastic evening. The ambience... well... is just typical Prenzl Berg. You have to like it. I don't do this that way, hence the 1 point deduction in the B grade. BUT: You go there because of the food and that's great.

The taste of Iranian homemade food. I often visit Aftab, as it’s my go-to spot for my favorite dish: saffron rice with barberry and chicken. Without a doubt, aftab is my top choice among all the Iranian restaurants I’ve tried in Berlin.

I really, really want to love this place, particularly because there are no other Iranian restaurants in the area. The taste is pretty good and has gotten better since I first tried it, but the stew to rice ratio is so off. There is LOADS of rice and very little strew and it's pre-mixed, when you order it, which is a shame. The kashke bademjan would be amazing if it was more smokey and less oily. I hope they consider the feedback. Would order again, if so!!! :)

Where is this place!!! The coziest, most welcoming of all places, hands down. You want to feel at home, you should try this place. They will make you miss Iran dearly. If you are not iranian, they will make you want to visit Iran one day. Will come back every time I will be in Berlin. ❤️

One the worst Persian food I ever eat!! The zereshkplolo bowl‘s taste was really bad, it reminds me hospital food!!!! They write in menu this dish serve with one Jogurt bowl and the bowl was a sauce plastic bowl as smallest as you can imagine. I don’t recommend this restaurant at all.

Actually a pretty nice shop, not really that special and quite expensive. But they charge money for tap water, which is unfortunately outrageous!

From the Persian restaurants I've tried so far in Berlin, this was by far the worst. Their fesenjun was definitely not authentic and overpriced.

I can only agree, it used to be great, now it's just expensive and the quality is significantly worse. 11€ for a bowl of supposed saffron rice with 5 raisins, and for dishes with a casserole also 85% rice and a dollop of vegetables is not possible. I pay €25 for 2 bowls of dry partially colored rice. 👎🏻

The food delivery service was good, I can't complain about the courier in this weather. But I was expecting two separate containers of food, exactly what is shown in Wolt's promotional photo, but I was only faced with a box and a very small can of yogurt. It was pretty disappointing. Since I spend most of my time in restaurants and my orders can naturally be very large, I'm of course a little disappointed. At least the yogurt container should be as small as a bowl. The yogurt they sent me is only enough for two tablespoons. In all famous restaurants in the world, a few things are always kept in mind. The actual size of the food, accompaniments like yogurt, vegetables, etc., the taste, smell of the food and the amount the customer pays for a good meal. If all these steps are followed well, I think we can include more stars in our text instead of our 5 stars. But in this case, unfortunately, this will not happen.

I was there three times. All the staff were super polite and nice and I felt very comfortable when I spoke to them. I remember asking one of the polite ladies about a particular juice that they didn't have. She was so kind and surprised me by getting it specially and making it just for me because I asked. The food is just amazing, I love it. I recommend the restaurant 100% and will go there more and more often.

It was our first time there and we got a seat inside. If you can't sit outside, you should make a reservation as it's not very big. The service was very friendly and committed. The food came quite quickly and was really tasty. The quantity and price corresponded to my expectations. It is therefore a recommended restaurant.

Ordered Ghorme Sabzi and Fesenjan with chicken. Our favorite Persian dishes! 15€ - 16€ per bowl is really hefty, then everything is delivered in a container and with the ratio of 90% rice and only 10% dish, with 3-4 pieces of meat you are actually only eating dry, soggy, overpriced rice. But the few pieces of chicken were enough that my partner and I have been struggling with severe gastrointestinal problems for two days. That was the last time...

Cozy persian restaurant in a nice neighborhood. Lots of vegeterian options and with kind and helpful staff. We tried the vegeterian plate and liked it very much. You can ask them to substitute the stews if you want, which is great.

Delicious, I devoured it! I wanted to pace myself and enjoy it more but damn it was so good that I just kept on eating and it was gone before I noticed (not to be interpreted as the portion is not enough because it is enough to be satisfied)

This place truly offers a taste of authentic Persian cuisine. The food is fresh, with plenty of options, including great choices for vegetarians. The rice, with its delicious hint of raisins, is particularly yummy. I have been here numerous times and will definitely keep coming back!

Worst service. Visited for the first time and the waiter dropped sauce on me. With just a sorry in return. I also asked him to bring tissues but he never did. It was lunch time and had to go back to office with dirty clothes. In addition they did not provide any reciepts or card payments, in return he offered he can write the reciept with hand I wish i could rate lower than 1 star

Very poor value for money I have always enjoyed eating here, but unfortunately the quality has declined and the price has increased. I ordered the herb omelet, which wasn't worth the €10, neither in quantity nor in quality. I complained at the same time and was rudely told that it was an “appetizer” and that appetizers are small. My opinion on this... then you also charge appetizer prices and not the same amount for which you get a main course in the restaurant next door. The waitress said I should call in the evening and the boss would be there. Unfortunately, no one answered after several calls. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star for the service, which has become really bad.
