Such delicious food, and everything is explained as it's placed on the table! Not the fastest service, but very friendly and attentive... we'd be happy to go again :)

Highly recommended, especially if you're waiting for a musical performance at the Neue Flora, a charming ray of hope in the otherwise somewhat bleak surroundings.

Beautiful building with a garden – a small oasis of peace in the hustle and bustle of the big city. Seven of us had dinner here in the evening. The staff was super friendly, the food arrived promptly, and everything was delicious. Our billing for seven people, with gourmet block vouchers, and partly cash and partly card payments, would have been difficult almost anywhere else – here everything was quick and friendly. Thank you for the lovely evening. I'll be back!

Etwas eingedeutschte Küche aus Sri Lanka, aber trotzdem recht autentisch. Fast alle Gerichte können mild, mittel oder scharf bestellt werden. Scharf ist dann auch wirklich scharf (hab es ausprobiert). Die beiden Inhaber, ein Ehepaar, waren sehr freundlich zu uns und als wir ihnen erzählten, dass wir schon ein paar Mal in Sri Lanka gewesen waren, haben wir uns mit ihnen angeregt über ihre Heimat unterhalten. Da bekam man Lust, wieder einmal dorthin zu fliegen. Das Ambiente im Breitengrad ist nach wie vor sehr schön. Wie immer bei unseren Besuchen dort buchen wir einen Tisch in der Veranda, dort sind nur 4 Tische. Preislich kann man nicht meckern. Für 4 Personen zahlten wir rund € 150,00. Darin waren 4 Vorspeisen, 4 Hauptgerichte, eine Flasche Wein, 2 große Biere und das Trinkgeld enthalten. Ein Arrak ging auf das Haus. Es war wieder ein gelungener Abend und wir können das Breitengrad absolut empfehlen.

We recently dined here with our family for another time. As always, it was simply wonderful. The selection of dishes is exceptionally good, and you can adjust the spiciness of the curries to your personal taste. The sauces for the starters are very well-combined, and the spices are harmonious. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and they are happy to provide information about the various dishes. We can all recommend the restaurant without reservation. See you next time.

Insider tip! I just returned from Sri Lanka, and by direct comparison, it's very authentic and simply delicious. The people here are very friendly. The location is absolutely solid. In the summer, you can sit outside. I highly recommend it.

Discovered by pure chance, tried it, and found it highly recommended. Small and exquisite. The food was delicious. Starters and main courses were tender and fresh. There's also plenty on the menu for vegetarians. Fair value for money. Very friendly and unobtrusive hosts. Tucked away from the mainstream, but very close to S-Bahn Holstenstraße (3-minute walk). An absolute insider tip for us!

Delicious, authentic food. All the curries were delicious, as were the starters. The atmosphere is cozy. Parking is rather scarce; you have to be lucky to find a space in the cul-de-sac in front.

We would like to give you a short feedback on our recent visit to your restaurant. The two of us came from Cologne and discovered your company spontaneously via Google. Unfortunately, our experience with you was characterized by mixed impressions, which is why we would like to take the time to share a few points with you. Right at the beginning we were greeted by a lady who behaved very unfriendly when I briefly leaned down to her dog, which was lying open in the entrance area. Although I didn't even touch the animal, I was repeatedly told in an extremely unpleasant tone that you "always have to ask first." Such a reception not only has a deterrent effect on guests, but also stands in stark contrast to an open and hospitable demeanor. Then it's best not to put your dog exactly where all the guests come in. Then you would be spared from putting on such an embarrassing, totally exaggerated drama. Apart from that, no one with a bit of sense would put a snappy dog ​​there with direct customer contact. It was extremely loud inside, which made it difficult to enjoy the food. Although the overall quality of the food was okay, we didn't find it to be anything special in terms of taste - especially in relation to the high expectations that the ambience and reviews suggest. However, we would like to positively emphasize the very friendly service at our table, which saved the visit to some extent. We are happy to award two stars for this hospitality and the solid quality of the food.

Unfortunately there was no traditional food, either the food was too spicy or totally over salted. Kottu Roti was also soggy with ingredients that didn't really belong there. The curry was served as a soup, far too runny and had no resemblance to curry. For these prices you can actually buy the ingredients yourself and cook traditionally yourself.

We ate here before the musical. Table is easy to reserve directly here via Google. Really wonderful here. Staff super friendly. Beautiful ambience with dimmed lights and nice decorations. The kotto was very good. I didn't know that at all and as an Austrian I would most likely compare it to "dumplings with eggs". Full recommendation.

Latitude a restaurant from Sri Lanka, former Ceylon after the British left. The food is very similar to Indian cuisine, but cooked a little differently and just as delicious. We had a Sri Lanka chicken soup with curry, and a chickpea soup with spicy vegetables. The chicken curry soup was a bit sweet, the chickpea soup was very spicy. Both very tasty. The main course was beef with black curry and various vegetables. And the traditional chicken curry, spicy and very tasty. In summer you can also sit outside. Price-performance and the portions are right here. Great service and a cozy restaurant, im Sri Lankan style furnishings. A clear recommendation for this beautiful restaurant!

Mutton roll, poll roti with three kinds of chutney, king fish curry and of course the Black tea, were all spot on. The service is fast and the staffs are very nice. We requested for a quick service and they really considered it.

Wir waren mit einem 2:1-Gutschein dort. Essen und Bedienung hervorragend und man kann draußen in einer lauschigen Umgebung sitzen. Leider ist eine stark befahrene Straße in der Nähe, aber man muss sich darüber nicht ärgern. Auch die Einrichtung innen hat uns gefallen. Wir würden bei einem nächsten Hamburg-Besuch wiederkommen !

Nice, small restaurant with a terrace. Something different for the taste buds, but very tasty. I liked it. Memories from the Sri Lanka vacation come back.... Very spicy cuisine, but the sauce is served separately so you can dose it yourself. Service was very accommodating, polite and friendly. My son was even told what ingredients the papadum was made from because he really liked it. We would be happy to come back when we are in beautiful Hamburg. Kind regards from Bavaria :-)

Easy online reservation 30 minutes in advance. The restaurant is located in a beautiful garden in the middle of Hamburg, just five minutes from the S-Bahn. Service very friendly and customer oriented. Excellent food, large portions at a fair price. Gladly again.

First of all, there was an extremely friendly telephone call to make a reservation - a further call due to our traffic-related delay was rewarded with the table being kept free, super pleasant! The friendly and professional impression of the staff continued on site. Because we had to keep an eye on the clock due to the initial delay in order to attend a subsequent musical, the waitress even advised us not to order an appetizer due to the busyness, so that we could eat our meal in a relaxed manner. The restaurant's furnishings are simple but well-kept. You can also eat outside in the backyard. Now to the food: An absolute delight with extremely different flavors, absolutely recommended! You can choose the level of spiciness yourself from mild to hot. Although we were only in Hamburg for a short trip, we would have eaten there again (if we hadn't tried other restaurants). Great location to grab something to eat before a musical at the Neue Flora. The restaurant is in the immediate vicinity. We sat outside in a small garden/patio area. The food was very tasty, beautifully and differently seasoned and attractively presented. The service was also quick and very friendly. There will definitely be a repeat.

Very tasty and fresh cuisine. Had a spontaneous dinner here without a reservation. The restaurant is within walking distance of S Holstenstraße. Very green and idyllic location with a beautiful outdoor area. The staff only spoke English, but they were very friendly and communication worked well. Starters and main courses were fresh and very tasty. The spices and side dishes were also good. We also liked the ambience. But there is a star deduction for the price. I think the prices are a bit high compared to other similar restaurants, starters cost just under 10 euros per person. Main courses just under 25 euros. The portions were okay but not particularly large. Drink prices were normal. Conclusion: very nice restaurant with fresh, tasty and authentic food, everything was great apart from the slightly higher price and therefore a clear recommendation 👍

We sat outside - the garden is small but beautiful. The service was just right - not too much and not too little and very friendly and helpful. The food was very flavorful, very large portions and we had a good selection. The toilets were clean, but they could use some renovation.

We ended up here after seeing the musical Hercules, very, very good and tasty restaurant. Friendly staff, our food came very quickly, we were very positively surprised by the taste. We were able to taste a lot of delicious flavors, especially in the sauces. Highly recommended!

I didn’t find the taste of the authentic food and this was far more unexpected than the expected .Traditional chicken curry and the beef curry tasted like indian so it wasn’t the authentic version unfortunately . “Watalappan” the dessert was too warm to eat and it was too sweet for me.at last i would rather not recommend to anyone because it wasn’t worthy of your money and little bit pricey.

We were looking for a delicious restaurant near the Neue Flora in Hamburg and found it at Breitengrad. We reserved a table in advance online via Google without any problems, which was a good thing because the restaurant was very busy. It was a small experience to eat there and were briefly transported to India for our stay. The food was very, very tasty and was served on small warmers. The service was very nice and accommodating

Pickles and a great mango chutney included. Lots of vegetarian dishes. Extremely nice service. Solid ambience. Good option to eat before the musical.

Positiv: Kurzfristige Reservierung an einem Sonntag Nachmittag war möglich. Das Essen war lecker und der Service war gut. Negativ: Wir waren im Winter bei kalten Temperaturen dort. Bei jeder Öffnung der Aussentür zog es extrem kalt durch den Laden. Ihr braucht dringend einen Windfang. Das Mobiliar besteht aus simplen Holzstühlen mit quasi Null Polsterung. Somit ist leider keine Wohlfühlatmosphäre vorhanden. Vielleicht kommen wir mal wieder, wenn der Aussenbereich im Sommer geöffnet ist. Im Winter garantiert nicht noch einmal.

Das beste Restaurant mit Sri Lankanischer Küche in Hamburg. Ich bin froh, dieses Restaurant gefunden zu haben, denn hier bekommt man all die leckeren Sri Lankanischen Gerichte sehr authentisch zubereitet. Von diversen Curries, Kothu Rotti über diverse Vorspeisen, die klassischen Sambols (verschiedene Chillidips) bis hin zu Desserts wie Watalappam gibt es hier super viele leckere Speisen. Alles ist super gewürzt und scharf, wenn man es mild möchte, sollte man das explizit erwähnen. Für Vegetarier und auch Veganer gibt es genug Auswahl. Die Getränkekarte ist ebenfalls umfangreich, auch die Weinauswahl passt. Der Service ist wirklich super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man sollte aber immer etwas Zeit mitbringen, alles wird frisch zubereitet. Reservieren wird unbedingt empfohlen, da das Restaurant zu Stoßzeiten meistens voll ist. Wer Fan der Sri Lankanischen Küche ist oder einfach mal etwas Neues ausprobieren möchte, ist im Restaurant Breitengrad genau richtig.

Sehr leckeres Essen Nr 18 Hähnchen Curry mild war aber auch schon ein Hauch scharf für meine Verhältnisse, zumindest wenn man viel davon isst. Es hat trotzdem sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Dessert mit Bananen war auch gut aber eventuell ein kleines bisschen teuer, da nur eine Eiskugel dabei ist, wenn es zwei wären dann ist es schon eher gerechtfertigt ;) Schnelle Bedienung und Servierung. Gemütlich und nicht zu groß. Preise sind sonst voll ok vom Essen und Trinken her. Bild nur zur Veranschaulichung Topf mit Reis der gewürzt war ist nicht auf dem Bild.

Ich hatte das Dreierlei-Curry. Dies bestand aus roter Beete, Kartoffeln sowie Kürbis, als Beilage Reis. Also alles günstige Zutaten, wobei der Preis recht hoch war. Geschmacklich ok, aber nix besonderes. Auch in keinster Weise exotisch. Mein Mann fand sein Essen auch so lala… Wir waren dort, da wir anschließend in die Neue Flora wollten und es wirklich nah ist. Ansonsten würden wir uns nicht nochmal extra auf den Weg dorthin machen.

Nach unserem Sri Lanka Tripp in diesen Jahr waren wir gespannt, wie authentisch das Essen ist. Alles war lecker und überraschend scharf (für europäische Gaumen). Preis Leistung war auch in Ordnung.

Noch nie so ein liebloses Essen gegessen- die Ente war zäh, es war nur eine Handvoll kleiner Stücke, die in einer undefinierbaren Sauce schwammen. Die Riesengarnelen waren in einer pappigen süß- sauren Sauce ertränkt. Lecker war das Lassi und das Brot .

Sehr authentisch, sehr lecker, aber auch sehr scharf. Es gibt vegane Gerichte und eine große Auswahl an Currys und anderen Spezialitäten. Wir kommen zu 100% gerne wieder. Update: waren heute ein 2. Mal dort. Wieder alles top!

Waren mit 4 Personen zu einem frühen Abendessen vor einem Theaterbesuch zu Gast. Wir wurden zügig und gut bedient und waren alle sehr zufrieden mit unserem Essen und den Getränken. Ganz klare Empfehlung.

Das Essen: sehr lecker, zu empfehlen und auch die landestypischen Getränke dazu zum genießen.
