The taste was ok.. Rolls with Nuremberg sausages for €4!!

We wanted to sit down for a beer, but unfortunately we didn't have a particularly pleasant experience. The older waitress came to the table without greeting, reached over us without a word and placed the “Reserved” sign in plain view – which had not been visible before. Only then did she start talking to us. A short, friendly explanation would have been completely sufficient - unfortunately the situation seemed unnecessarily unpleasant.

Unfortunately a bad experience because of a bad waiter: the restaurant is in a small street in the middle of small shops. I sat in a table outside and the waiter seemed friendly to everyone else, but when I tried to order a plate with my basic german, his attitude changed completely, not even trying to understand me and saying it was better to go to the bars next door. I told him I didn't want a drink, it was 3 p.m. and I sat down because I wanted to try the famous German apple pie. I ordered it, and my mother, who was in one of the shops, came and sat down to wait for me to eat. The waiter came back and said that if she didn't want to eat anything, she couldn't sit down. As a result, my mother had to go for a walk while I ate my pie alone... the restaurant was not even full. After that, he went to the table next to me, and I was so embarrassed to see how they discretely looked at me and started laughing... this unfortunately ruined my afternoon... The pie was good, though.

Great, rustic, typically Franconian restaurant with great grilled sausages. Be sure to order permanent herb and enjoy the whole thing with a delicious red beer. Service is top, fast and friendly, quality is great and the location and ambience are simply wonderful. I'd love to come back!

Decent food. Not amazing but pretty good. Served very quickly. Service was poor. Took a LONG time to get the attention of the waitress to pay. I was actually joking with the table next to me about how long it was taking. That's how bad it was. It wasn't busy when I went either. Overall it was still good. The food was good and the waitress was friendly

Incredibly outrageous! I don't even know where to start - I've rarely experienced such impudence! The portions? A joke! I seriously considered whether I had accidentally ordered the children's menu. For the prices charged here, I should have rolled home full - instead I had to go eat somewhere else afterwards! And then the prices! I have nothing against good food, but what is served here is just a bad joke. I don't pay for air on my plate! Value for money? Non-existent! Conclusion: If you want to spend a lot of money on little food and still be hungry afterwards, this is the right place for you. For my part, I'm never coming back.

A cheeky apple strudel I'm really not picky, but what I was served here was an absolute joke. I was looking forward to a nice piece of apple strudel - after all, it is a simple, classic dessert that is hard to mess up. But what came next was simply audacious: a puny, sad piece that looked more like a sample than a proper portion. And the price? Beyond good and evil. For what was asked for here, I almost expected the strudel to be covered in gold leaf and served by a celebrity chef himself. Instead I got a tiny bite with just a hint of apple, a few crumbs of dough and a dollop of bland custard. I'm really willing to pay for good food, but here you just feel ripped off. Anyone expecting a decent portion for this price will be bitterly disappointed. Once and never again.

Price-performance ratio is catastrophic

An absolute failure! The Bratwurst Glöcklein only lives from the name, but not from quality or service. The sausages taste like mass-produced goods from the discount store, carelessly thrown onto the plate and lukewarm at best. The staff? Listless, annoyed and traveling at the speed of a snail. Here tradition is used as an excuse not to make any more effort. If you want really good Nuremberg bratwurst, you should definitely go somewhere else!

Rip-off in Bavarian – never again! A Bavarian restaurant that advertises tradition but only rips off tourists - that's probably the best way to sum up my visit to Bratwurstglöcklein. Here you pay premium prices for mini portions and mediocre taste. The absolute height of audacity: an apple strudel for 7.50 euros - and then comes a pitiful piece that would only pass as a sample portion! Hardly any apple, the dough was dry, the vanilla sauce was a loveless blob from the bag. An unparalleled impudence! The main courses are also a bad joke. Anyone who comes for Bavarian home cooking expects heartiness and taste - here you get a diet version of it at best. And at prices that will make your wheat beer stick in your throat. The service? Slow and listless. The ambience? Pure tourist trap. If you have too much money and like to be ripped off, you can eat here. Everyone else should give this store a wide berth!

Food badly overpriced and children's portions But good seat heating

I can't recommend this café! The service was extremely unpleasant. The waitress acted arrogantly and with obvious disdain. She ignored our thank yous, and her cold and indifferent behavior made it feel like we didn’t deserve any attention. While serving our table, she was polite only to the other guests, but treated us with clear displeasure. We felt uncomfortable and just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. Even when she brought the bill, she didn’t bother to look in our direction and instead spent her time chatting with the neighbors, completely ignoring us. It's very disappointing that Nürnberg, despite its reputation, still doesn't offer proper hospitality. The time, money, and mood we spent here sadly didn't meet our expectations. It's better to find another place.

Delicious and traditional cuisine. Personally, I found the potato salad too sweet.

All the food is excellent and as traditional as can be, but if you are looking for the traditional Nürnberg bratwurst experience, look no further. There is no shortage of bratwurst joints in Nürnberg, but none better. They are close to the train station with impeccable service, food, and atmosphere. Grilled traditionally over birchwood coals, giving the brats that unmistakeable Nürnberg flavor, with excellent weinkraut and kartoffelsalat this is the real thing and a must visit in Nürnberg.

A quaint restaurant, but also touristy. The food (shoulder of pork with dumplings and coleslaw) was very good. The service was very competent and friendly. The colleagues had the local specialty, bratwurst, which was also very good. It's very centrally located and easy to walk around from there. Highly recommended.

When it's full it just takes too long... 20 minutes waiting for a beer... Oh well. More aimed at tourists.

This is such a cozy place. The server was friendly and the food was excellent. Definitely get the pretzels and cheese. Enjoyed the whole meal. The potato salad is nothing like American (which I don't like) and was very good. The sauerkraut also tasted very different but was so wonderful.

Nice tourist spot, but nothing special for food.

The Bratwurstgklöcklein is undoubtedly one of the restaurants in Nuremberg that is mainly visited by tourists, which is why it doesn't have to be bad. It isn't either. The proximity to the train station suggests that you plan your stay for your arrival or departure. I myself stopped there for lunch between a visit to the New Museum and a tour of the Nazi party rally grounds. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside in the Handwerkerhof and watch the tourism with one or more very tasty beers. The very attentive and friendly service ensures that you neither starve nor die of thirst. On the menu you will find the dishes that you can expect here at moderate prices. After “Drei im Weckla” I had a small knöchle with cabbage in the Bratwurstglöcklein and I was thrilled because it reminded me of my youth, when there were still restaurants in Munich that processed whole animals. Today every Gscheidhaferl calls for “from nose to tail”, but when things get serious, it can only be the lean fillet pieces. The small Franconian knöchle, which is called Surhaxerl in Old Bavaria, was just the right size for one portion. It was also buttery tender and had the perfect amount of bacon. The Prussian pork knuckle, on the other hand, is far too powerful and too “ordinary” for me to be considered as an alternative. I also had no complaints about the sauerkraut, only the bread was not acceptable by Franconian standards. The digestive schnapps was fine again. I can therefore recommend a visit to the Bratwurstglöcklein with a clear conscience and would come here again myself. Because I don't see any major points of criticism other than the bread, I can only give it the top rating.

Horrible service!!! Even if 90% are free there, they won’t let you in, citing the congestion of the tables, which remain free even after 3-4 hours. And if you do manage to get in, the service will be disgusting: they will pretend that they don’t hear you, they will say that half of the dishes are missing (although there are all positions for the neighboring German-speaking table), they will be rude, rude and throw your plates in front of your faces. But, if, despite the pigish attitude, you still want to get there, then it’s better to call and make a reservation. Otherwise, if they see you, they will 100% not let you in!

Unfortunately we arrived well before closing time... and we were visited by a rude old woman. 1. The kitchen is closed. "We just want a drink in 30 minutes" 2. Not that it's closed... In a very bad way... the truth is that they could send her to school to see if they teach her how to behave around people. Or that you're working on something other than working on people. If I go back to Nuremberg, I will never come back... there are many places like this...

Very nice ambience, the bratwurst was very good, the supposedly oven-fresh Schäufele wasn't that great. The toilet is a mess, incredibly dirty and absolutely disgusting!

Completely disappointment. This place used to be a nice cozy German restaurant, but now it’s just a mass market mess. You won’t feel yourself like in German restaurant, rather like in an overpriced cafe with cheep equipment. 1. The online menu doesn’t comply with the menu in the restaurant (ex. they don’t have red beer) 2. They give you mustard with a cheep plastic spoon (photo attached)! 3. The staff is completely unmotivated to help and give advices 4. Food quality is average, portions are quite small for such price. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody.

Stopped in spontaneously and were lucky to get a seat around 12 p.m. The waitress was quick and friendly despite the crowds. The Nuremberg restaurant was a dream. Next time we will make a reservation.

A perfect place inside the city walls, almost right next to the old town, the place has been operating since 1313, very good food, quick service, very atmospheric place, you can sit comfortably and eat delicious dishes. I ate a pork shank of about 1 kg for PLN 14.70, it was together with heated sauerkraut. also eight Nuremberg sausages with potatoes or cabbage for PLN 11.50 a large beer PLN 4.70 really very decent prices and the food brilliant, one of the best in Nuremberg, I highly recommend it. Of course, when it comes to this price range

Bratwursts and potato salad as well as the shandy were very tasty, sauerkraut was not to our taste. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Price performance rather mediocre for the price, the portions were too small. The location is in a very touristy environment.

Since we only wanted to eat a little something, we decided on the Nuremberg grilled sausages and the lamb's lettuce. The bratwursts were well grilled and tasted excellent. Lamb’s lettuce too, of course. Service very friendly and attentive. Next time we will order the Schäuferl. We'll be back.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the space. The food was good. Overpriced, but that’s what you should expect given the area. The portions are quite small. That was my disappointment. If the portions were bigger, I would have given 5 stars. The beer was good.

Bratwürstl and Schauferle at their best and not overpriced. Tip: If it's cold, don't sit by the door. The radiators are under the benches! 😃

If you are going to visit Nürnberg, a mandatory stop to eat and drink good beer (Tucher). To eat: sausages (rostbratwürste), potato salad (kartoffelsalat), sauerkraut (sauerkraut) and knuckle (knöchle). You will like Nürnberg and at Christmas much more.

There was too much food that couldn't be ordered on a weekend evening. The atmosphere is like a local pub. The German atmosphere is not bad. Card cannot be used

It was just ok. The sausages are small, finger size, kind of like breakfast sausage. It's tourist priced, but that's expected. Luckily, the Christmas markets are still open, so we'll head to get some brats. The waiter was pretty cool.

So damn delicious God damn good

Before heading to the bus station we went to buy two takeaway sausage sandwiches that are advertised outside for €3.5. It is not very big but for that price it is very good and the flavor of the sausages surprised us well. They prepared them for us on the spot and it didn't take a minute. We didn't have time to sit down for dinner but everything looked very good and we found the service friendly.

Fantastic family run traditional restaurant, cozy and atmospheric. Food was delicious, the grilled sausages were so tender, like a fine steak, no lumps. Potato salad lovely & sweet tasting, served in a traditional metal bell plate. Basic drinks menu, nice beer and wine. Would definitely recommend coming here for a traditional German experience

Everything is fine, recommended

Just right if you want to bridge some time before the train journey. The house was full, but the service was quick, friendly and smiling (at this point: thank you!). The grilled sausages with horseradish tasted like grilled sausages, accompanied by a pretzel and a delicious beer, all in a slightly rustic atmosphere. Perfect. Visited on November 22nd, 2024 and will definitely be back soon!

Fabulous place, a typical German tavern with a lot of charm, good service and good food. I give it 4 stars because it has a lot of smoke from the barbecue and you come out smelling like smoke. Otherwise great, highly recommended!

Must not be missed when visiting Nuremberg. However, it is advisable to reserve a table. The grilled sausages are in a class of their own and the rest is delicious too. Unless you are satisfied with “3 im Weckle” (also available locally).

Fantastic service. It was busy with the Christmas markets but we were given the option to sit with another couple at a 4 berth table. We quickly made friends with our new dinner buddies. Beer and food was great. Brilliant atmosphere and friendly staff.

Unfortunately, I no longer had any appetite for the food after a woman who was obviously known to the staff and smelled unkempt and disgusting was sat down at the table with us. The only available toilet is a public toilet outside the restaurant. There you stand waiting in the cold, only to end up using an unkempt, smelly place without toilet paper. When asked about the grievances, our waitress not only showed absolute disinterest, but also loudly complained to her colleague that she had not received a tip. FOR WHAT?!? For English speaking customers - simply a place to avoid

I ate at Bratwurstglöcklein several times because I'm from Nuremberg. The bratwursts are always good, as are the side dishes, since it's a bratwurst house and nothing else. The team does the best it can with the different nationalities.

Come here for the traditional german dishes! They were so amazing. The lady was very lovely and loving. The decoration is WOW!

Want to have an authentic German experience - food, hospitality it is a must to go see and try. Next door to Hauptbahnhoff (main train station), easy access.

There is a Japanese menu on the homepage. The food is delicious and the staff is kind. The liver dumpling soup and Eisbein are exquisite.

Very quick service! I was rushing for the train and my order came within 5mins. Food quality was good, loved the sausages and of course, the beer. And get the pork shoulder instead of the pork knuckle, since this is Franconian (and not Bavarian) cuisine :p
