Restaurant Brasserie in Nürnberg

We have been going to the gourmet buffet regularly for over 20 years and it is always something special. The service is always very courteous and the atmosphere is really nice, it is most comfortable in the cold winter months. The food is very good and in my opinion the starters are the star of the gourmet buffet. Also worth highlighting is the communication with the guests, who really deserve 5 stars. Many thanks to the great team who gave us such a wonderful evening.

We had dinner in the Brasserie restaurant on Friday evening and would like to say thank you for the lovely evening! Large appetizers failure, e.g. eggplant with feta - very tasty, the duck with apple, very tasty as a main course, but the steak grilled a la minute was simply a poem, we have never eaten such a juicy and fried steak. The service was very polite, friendly and very attentive. Beautiful atmosphere, very tasty, surprising food - simply a pleasure and rightly excellent. It was a perfect evening, We'd love to come back! Personal thanks to restaurant manager Emil for the sound and good advice.

Very professional and friendly service in a wonderful atmosphere. The food was really tasty, but not outstanding, and therefore in our opinion too expensive, even if you take into account the good service and the ambience. If you don't have a problem with spending a little more money, you can have a nice evening here and have a nice break. Additional information for hotel guests: The breakfast here was excellent and the selection was very large - a clear recommendation for this!

Da wurde großspurig ein Gala Menü angekündigt: authentisch, typisch usw. Die Wirklichkeit sah anders aus. Die „Teezeremonie“ zu Beginn bestand aus einem Beutel (!) Jasmintee in einer Tasse. Wenn die drei eingeflogenen „Spitzenköche“ aus Shenzhen nicht mehr draufhaben, dann gute Nacht. Wahrscheinlich sind es verdiente Parteigenossen, die so eine Reise machen durften. Das Menu war weder authentisch kantonesisch noch sonst irgendetwas. Seit wann gibt es in Südchina kalte Vorspeisen? Die Suppe danach schmeckte nach nicht, evtl. etwas nach Spülwasser. Das Huhn war ganz ordentlich gewürzt, aber die paar Krümel waren auf dem Teller kaum zu finden. Das Lychee Bällchen hat wiederum nach nichts geschmeckt. Zuletzt gab es eine Art Sauerbraten – was das mit kantonesischer Küche zu tun hat, weiß niemand. Zum chinesischen Neujahr gehört eher Fisch, auch eine knusprig-saftige Kantonente wäre nicht zu verachten, aber so etwas. Der Preis war dafür absolut überzogen, etwas Besseres bekomme ich bei jedem China-Schnellimbiss. Was habe ich in China schon für tolles Essen bekommen, selbst in einfachen Restaurants! So war das die Verarschung des Jahres. Nie wieder!

The Sunday brunch starts at 12 p.m. in a great atmosphere with a friendly welcome...all buffets (starter, main course and dessert buffet) offer a great selection and 1a quality, pleasant piano music and very attentive service. Highly recommended... we'll be back.

We had the Christmas menu for €150 per person, without drinks. The lady in charge of the restaurant was arrogant and rude. The food was completely unseasoned, the main course was almost cold and tough. It didn't taste like grass-fed beef either. Rather cheap Brazilian meat. There was almost an hour's break between courses. When asked, the restaurant manager acted rudely. The price was outrageous considering the poor quality. Especially since the aperitif was also lukewarm. We'll never go there again. At least the service staff at the table were friendly and helpful.

We did the Christmas menu and felt ripped off. First, the meal took 4 hours!!! They kept serving one course per hour! First, was a fruit salad course that was a spoonful. The next was a delicious tartare. Then, they served ice cream before the main meal. Then, the food was simply okay. The total cost was $150 per person, not including drinks. Save your money and go to an actual steak restaurant. It will take less than 4 hours!

What happened to us in this restaurant has never happened to us in our entire lives and borders on fraud. We had a voucher for the gourmet buffet including wine accompaniment. So far so good. This was our third time in the brasserie, the first two times for brunch, which was also very good. The only difference between the gourmet buffet and brunch is the time of day, the wine accompaniment, which I'll come to and the fact that there were a few oysters. At brunch, exactly the same starters, main courses and desserts, but they were very good. Now to the wine accompaniment... We each had 1 glass of white wine and then saw at the next table that the guests were drinking rose wine. We thought we could try that too. The waiter, who hardly spoke or understood German, brought us the rose wine and poured it really badly. When it came time to pay, we knew we had to pay for our 2 Prosecco and also our still water, which was strange. Now the waiter came and asked us 57 euros for 2 Prosecco, 1 still water and 3 glasses of rose wine. The rose wine was not included but only white or red wine. Firstly, it doesn't say this anywhere, secondly, the waiter MUST point out that rose wine is not included. The guests at the next table felt the same way as we did... we've never had such an impudence before. Unfortunately the Maritim Hotel no longer exists, because we knew the whole thing differently then. Water included, which was already at the table, wine was constantly being poured until we said please no more, not to mention the much more attentive service. We ended up complaining to the restaurant manager. If the waiter had told us that the rose wine cost extra, we would have still tried it and paid for it, no problem. But keeping quiet about the whole thing and doing it at several tables feels like cheating to me. Unfortunately we will never see this hotel or brasserie again...

Were invited to a birthday brunch on Friday evening (April 14, 2023). Absolutely top selection and offer. We will also visit privately shortly.

Ist perfekt von der Restaurantleiterin Jana geführt, man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl. Sauberkeit, Freundlichkeit und Küche sind super. Das Personal sehr hilfsbereit, sehr freundlich, verdient 5 Sterne. Das GRAND BRUNCH ist wirklich Klasse. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren zu Dritt zum Brunch . Der Sekt und Espresso sind inklusive, Getränke werden zusätzlich berechnet. Das Buffet ist dreigeteilt;: Vor-, Haupt- und Nachspeisen. Alles Inn guter Qualität in großer Auswahl u5n immer frisch zubereitet. Das Personal mit Gastronomieausbildung oder darin befindlich. Auch die Pianisten bieten angenehme Hintergrundmusik. Für 180 € mehr als angenehme 3 Stunden. Empfehlenswert.

Bad wine selection. Glass of Champagne totally flat. Glass of red wine undrinkable. Got suggestion to take a bottle (for one glass) and take bottle home.

Ausgezeichnete Qualität an Fisch und Suppen. Weinauswahl lässt keine Wünsche offen. Fleisch/Steak okay. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Grand Hotel, wunderbares Frühstück

Ne vous méprenez pas sur son nom ! Il ne s’agit nullement d’une brasserie au sens où on l’entend communément, mais d’un restaurant gastronomique, intégré au Grand Hotel Le Méridien de la chaîne Marriott, situé en face de la gare centrale. Il est bien entendu possible d’y accéder sans être client de l’hôtel, même si l’entrée coïncide avec le vaste hall de l’hôtel, au sol et aux piliers de marbre. Le cadre somptueux impressionne dès l’abord. Avec sa verrière art déco, le restaurant respire l’élégance d’un établissement de classe. Dans une ambiance veloutée, le restaurant propose aussi bien des spécialités régionales que des mets internationaux. Les cuissons sont parfaites, et les plats sont raffinés, comme le service. De quoi savourer un moment des plus agréables…

Das Essen ist sehr schmackhaft und das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich und professionell. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist sehr angenehm.

Ob Geschäftsessen, ein romantischer Abend oder eine Familienfeier, hier genießt man Essen der Extraklasse. Ein besonderes Highlight sind die Musical Dinner Show sowie das Murder Mystery Dinner, bei welchen kulinarische Abenteuer mit fesselnden Geschichten in einem Erlebnisdinner in Nürnberg. Auf der Speisekarte finden man internationale Gerichten, aber auch viele lokale Spezialitäten und saisonale Gerichte. Darüber hinaus gibt es jeden Freitag und Samstag Schlemmerbuffet vom Feinsten.

We were staying at the hotel so we called to ask if we needed reservation and were told to come on in. But, we were told that the dress requirement was "elegant". So who travels for 2 weeks with "elegant" clothes? Not us. So we wore what we had and when we went down at around 8pm the place was empty. There were two couples already seated. The elderly couple was dressed normal, the woman with a blouse and pants and the man had a jacket. The younger couple was in jeans and regular shirts. We overheard them make a comment that maybe the young waitress was ignoring them because they were not dressed "elegant". So I guess they got the same comment when they called for a table. If you are so slow, then please don't make guests feel unwelcomed by asking for a dress attire that is not really necessary. I am glad we did not listen and went anyways. We loved the food, the wine and the friendly attitude of the staff. It was very very slow, but I don't think the serving staff is at fault, I think it's the kitchen. The staff kept coming around asking if things were okay and letting us know it was coming soon.The price is a bit over the top, but I guess they're taking advantage of the location and the French name. :) The potato soup was excellent and the steaks were one of the best we have had. After such a slow service and being that it was so late, we decided to skip dessert. But overall we enjoyed our dinner and it happened to be Mother's Day in Germany so they gave me a rose and a bottle of aromatic salt that the chef prepared. Very nice touch!

I usually don’t post any negative reviews unless it is really deserved. On Feb 14th/2019, i was there with 2 business friends that I’ve invited at the bar restaurant. Orders were taken quickly and my guest were served within 15 mn. After 45 mn, I ask the waiter ‘’did you forget my order’’ (a simple cheese burger with fries) ? He apologies and said it is coming very soon. 20 mn later, I am still waiting... At this point, my guests had finished their meals. I asked to cancel my order, paid promptly and said we needed to leave immediately as I wanted to have a meal to another nearby restaurant, being quite hungry (and pretty angry as well). At least, the waiter and the cashier were extremely sorry about what just happened, Germans have a quite strong sense of honour and job well made. As a frequent business traveller to Nuremberg, I will definitely go somewhere else next time. This is not what I would expect from any Le Meridien Location anywhere in the world. Sorry Meridian hotel, this is what I call ‘’100% FAIL Service’’

We had been doing a group tour and decided to separate from the group for a nice family dinner at what we believed was a nice restaurant. The place was nice, the service started at a leisure pace ( something expected from a nice restaurant) the food was pretty good but as the dinner progressed our server disappeared just before finishing clear the plates and never come back to ask us for dessert. My husband ended up getting up and go talk to the gentleman at the door who proceeded to order the bartender to check on us. As expected she was only interested in the drink order, and was upset when we told her that we wanted her to clear the table , which she did but never came back to check if we wanted dessert or coffee. Once again my husband had to get up to get their attention... by then we did not want anything- just to get out of there so we asked for the check. 20 minutes went by - again my husband had to get up. Finally our waiter dignified us with her presence. After some more back and forth we were ready to leave and only then did the gentleman came to apologize and had the courage to tell us to give them a second chance. Mind you that we had ordered 2 good bottles of chateau Neuf du Pape so it was not that we had been a “cheap” costumer . This behavior of ignoring the costumers was not exclusive to our table. We saw two other tables getting up to go pay since they had also been waiting for a long time. I find their behavior unacceptable and I recommend people to stay away from this place

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Restaurant Brasserie. There was an excellent assortment of fresh fruits, meats and cheeses, pastries and made-to-order eggs. It is a lovely dining room with polite, professional service. Although the buffet was not part of our room price, we felt the cost was reasonable; but I would suggest considering a "package deal" that includes the buffet as part of your room price when booking a room.

The chefs at Restaurant Brasserie know how to combine old style German fare into delicious modern variations. The style and grandeur of this restaurant reminds one of times past when restaurants and the accompanying hotels of this caliber needed to compliment each other. We had Christmas Eve dinner here and we were delighted how well the food was prepared and the quality of the varied menu. Wild boar terrine, essence from rabbit, Pike Perch fillet, medallions of veal and flambeed almond cream all were beyond our expectations. Portions were just right allowing for one not to feel over fed. The servers were/are superb without being pretentious. They were often in the background ready to clear a finished meal and checking in periodically. The varied menu allows for a break from the local Franconian fare, but still includes a touch of Franconian/German cuisine. The ambiance of the restaurant adds a sense of enjoyment to the accompanying menu. Simply, we enjoyed our meals here and it's worth considering if your seeking a diversion from the local cooking.

Unser Besuch am 06.10.17 Wir waren hier spontan zum Schlemmerbuffet zum Essen. Wir wurden durch das Personal freundlich begrüßt und an unseren Tisch gebracht. Wo uns der Ablauf erklärt wurde. Wir haben uns einen Aperitif bestellt um auf dem Abend anzustoßen. Wir haben uns dann an die Vorspeisen gewagt, die sehr Fisch lastig waren. Es gab nur eine Platte mit Schinken der sehr dick geschnitten war und dadurch ist der Geschmack nicht zur Geltung gekommen. Die Auswahl an Brot war auch sehr klein. Alles in allen war die Auswahl an Vorspeisen einen Preis von 47€ nicht würdig. Es gab keine Terinen oder Paste oder Mousse von der Leber oder Rosa gebratenes Roastbeef einfach schade. Wir hofften das es bei den Hauptgerichten besser wird, die zusammen Stellung der Komponenten war nicht gut. Es war auch ein Koch am Büffet der nur eingelaufen ist und den Gästen aber nichts erklärt hat oder behilflich war. Bei einem Preis von 47 € hätte ich etwas mehr erwartet. Das Gemüse war nicht gewürzt und es gab pro chafing nur einen Vorleger auch wenn zwei unterschiedliche Gerichte drin waren. So waren die Klöße voll mit Rotkohl und im Gemüse waren mit Gnocchi vermischt. Der Dessert war gut nur auch hier die zusammen Stellung war nicht optimal getroffen, den "Crem Caramel" und "Cream Prule" sind auf den ersten Eindruck fast das gleiche auch geschmacklich. Das Obst der Saison war Melone und Ananas. Alles im allen war die Leistung der Küche nicht den Preis wert. Auch das auftreten des Küchen verantwortlichen mit Basecap geht gar nicht. Was noch oben drauf kam das die Vorspeisen einfach um 21 Uhr abgebaut worden sind obwohl das Büffet bis 22 Uhr geht! Es wurden die Gäste auch nicht gefragt ob man noch mal zu den Vorspeisen gehen möchte. Ich esse gerne Vorspeisen und hätte mir gerne noch mal was geholt. Die Serviceleitung war auch kein einziges mal am Tisch und hat nachgefragt ob alles ok ist. Die Servicekraft die uns betreut hat war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles im allen keine gute Leistung. 👎

Seit 20 Jahren unsere Lieblingslocation fuer Geburtstage, Weihnachten und einfach so, wenn wir richtig guten Service der alten aber zeitlosen Schule genießen möchten. Ich war als junger Mann willkommen und heute komme ich mit meinen Kindern. Niemand konnte so lange diesen Standard halten. Ein Tipp ist die American Bar die zu den schönsten in Nuernberg zählt. Located in the luxury Le Meridian hotel this is a fabulous restaurant as you would expect. We went to a candlelight dinner for two and it was incredibly good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is luxurious, relaxing and romantic. We had the duck salad as an appetizer and it was extremely good. Only to be topped by the deer medallions that we had for our main entrée. The dessert was to die for as well. The service was very good. The dinner was very reasonably priced. The wine and beer lists are very nice. I had a split of the Mouton Cadet 2014 Bordeaux! Excellent!

Bitte nicht davon abschrecken lassen, daß es das Restaurant und die Bar eines der besten Hotels in Nürnberg ist. Zur Happy Hour am Nachmittag gibt es einen Kaffee oder Tee mit einem hausgemachten Eclair (in 3 Geschmacksrichtungen) für 5 Euro. Als BC100 Kunde bekomme ich einen guten Tee ja auch immer gratis gegenüber im Bahnhof, aber die 5 Euro sind in meinen Augen immer gut angelegt. Drop a fork, it will be picked up in seconds by a staff member. Food at dinner all cooked to order and beautifully served. Not cheap but quality. Breakfast is a buffet and only moan was that the plates were cold.
