Great location in Nuremberg. Great Schäufele and a perfect Kaiserschmarrn. Great service.

We were there as a larger group (table was reserved). The menu is available in German and English and is not the most extensive. But there is something for everyone. Usually there are Franconian dishes and dishes there. The food was very tasty, portions (for men) just enough (if you were very hungry ;)). Augustiner beer is available in all types. The other guests were quite international, which wasn't a problem for the service staff. I also have to give them special praise - everyone was very nice and helpful. That was a positive thing :) Prices are not the cheapest but are appropriate for the location (right next to the castle!) and are affordable. Toilet is on the first floor! People with walking difficulties probably have a problem here. I would visit the Augsburger Schänke again if I was in Nuremberg (again)!

Always on the list when traveling to Nuremberg. Simply Bavarian beautiful.

We came to have some wine and something to eat. We ordered a small salad and the vegetables were not washed. We found a lot of grains of sand in it, which is not okay and should be improved.

Food great! Above all, not mega-sized portions, but just right. However, in relation to the price, this is almost expensive. The service was first class, as was the great atmosphere all around. However, we have to complain about the drinks. In none of our 5 glasses did the beer or spritzer come anywhere near the calibration mark...

Tourist hotspot and rightly so. 150 m below the Imperial Castle, on the city wall with many historical buildings all around. There are good restaurants in some of them. Because of the shade at lunchtime, we took a seat on the barrier's terrace. Fast, friendly service. We really liked the service man with his obligation to place the 3 menus under the cutlery jug several times. Augustiner is definitely one of the best. We really didn't expect that the 1/2 farmer's duck with sauce, dumpling and red cabbage was so tasty beyond the border. The husband was happy about the fried chicken with cranberries and potato and cucumber salad. Finally, we tried the Burggeist for €3.50. Snappy herbal liqueur, sweet, surprisingly tasty.

For a tourist hotspot, it's still pleasantly relaxed, the food is pretty average, Augustiner noble stuff on tap, a real "Nuremberg atmosphere" at Tiergärtnertorplatz. Recommended for the end of a castle confirmation.

Service was really friendly, ambience is nice too and the beer was good. Unfortunately, food is not recommended, small portions at a very high price and unfortunately little taste

schlimmste Erfahrung aller Zeiten. Ich war hier in Deutschland noch nie in einem Restaurant, in dem ein Kellner ein Trinkgeld verlangte. Der Kellner weigerte sich, mich ohne Trinkgeld bezahlen zu lassen. Er setzte das Kartenlesegerät immer wieder zurück und sagte, ich müsse Trinkgeld geben. Es ist illegal, dass er mir die Zahlung verweigert, ohne Trinkgeld zu geben. Es geht nicht um das Trinkgeld, sondern ums Prinzip. Sie verlangen von mir kein Trinkgeld, egal unter welchen Umständen.

Nice place for beers and German fare while watching the people go by.

Zuerst wurden die blaue Zippferl ohne Brot serviert, dann kam eine alte, trockene Scheibe wo von lauter Elend ein Loch war. Als ich mich mit der Antwort, es sei das letzte Brot, nicht zufrieden stellen wollte, wurden zwei Scheiben serviert, die wohl an einem anderen Tisch übergeblieben sein müssten. Um dann bei der Kartenzahlung 10%, 15% oder 20% Trinkgeld als Option vorzuschlagen, grenzt an einem gestörten Selbstbild.

There were four of us in the closet and in the evening we had three delicious pasture-raised beef burgers and a great Schäuferla at the previously reserved table. The food was delicious and we had different beers with it. Great atmosphere and friendly service from head waiter André - always happy! Authentic food and service. It was a nice atmosphere inside and out, and In a quieter area of Altstadt. Recommended by reception at Hotel Agneshof and it did not disappoint.

I was here today with a group of friends as we decided to take a trip to Nuremberg. A friend already knew the restaurant and remembered it well. Since we reserved in advance, we were able to sit directly at the table. It took at least 30 minutes from the time we ordered to ordering, only to then have to wait another 30 minutes for the food. When the food arrived we discovered that the food had been written down incorrectly and something else had been brought. We took that because otherwise we would have had to wait at least another 20 minutes. A short time (~10 minutes) later I ordered Käsespätzle, for which I had to wait over 40 minutes. It was brought just as we were about to leave because we found the wait awful. The food was delicious, but the service and the waiting time were rather poor.

Unfortunately the staff doesn't make you feel welcome at all. There were two of us and after we weren't given a particularly friendly place in the beer garden and I had a question about a dish, I was rudely approached. In the end we just had a drink and left the restaurant. Once and never again. Down the street towards Albrecht Dürer Platz there are super nice restaurants with very tasty food.

Incredibly unfriendly innkeeper who reacts annoyed from the first second and apparently sees customers as a necessary evil. Rather not!

A typical Franconian restaurant, the service is fast, the view from the terrace is very beautiful. The struddel was excellent. I recommend this restaurant for typical German food in a beautiful setting.

We were there today at noon! We do not speak German and only a little bit of English. The waiter of 10, attentive, patient, friendly, smiling and professional, explained to us that we could not sit at some tables in a very friendly manner and immediately placed us in others... The food was 10, but I repeat that the young waiter outside who served us was 100! If you read us, thank you very much for your attention! El restaurante está ubicado en una zona preciosa, se come muy bien en la terraza. Las salchichas típicas de Núremberg ricas, el filete de cerdo empanado riquísimo y la hamburguesa que venía fuera de carta increíble. Lo acompañamos todo con un par de Pretzel, súper ricos. La cerveza dorada (Lager) recomendada.

El sitio genial, la comida riquísima y el trato excelente. Está muy bien ubicado. Todo de buena calidad. Está preparado por si llueve o hace sol. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

Picturesquely located in one of the most beautiful places in Nuremberg right next to the Dürerhaus. There are Bavarian/Franconian dishes. The price is slightly above the Nuremberg average, which is probably due to the location. You don't have to understand why people are now serving Munich beer in the beer country of Franconia. The tourist doesn't care, the Franconian's heart bleeds. The toilet on the 1st floor can only be reached via a narrow staircase, so it is probably not suitable for wheelchair users.

On May 20, 2024 we and our family were faced with a not very pleasant situation. Let me say right away that we love your Augustiner restaurant chain and whenever we visit a new city in Germany, we immediately check to see if your restaurant is there. Then we took a trip to Nuremberg and were very happy that your restaurant was there. But unfortunately we were only left with a bad impression, namely when it came to the service. When we arrived at the restaurant, I asked an employee the usual question: “Do you have a free table for four people?” They turned away from me and continued talking to their colleague. We stood at the entrance for about a minute until the worker's colleague came back to us and asked us to find a place OURSELVES. Okay, we went there, found a free table where people had recently sat, and left their beer glasses behind - they weren't cleaned (and they weren't cleaned until the end of our stay). We asked a waitress if we could sit here, she said of course and had to clear up the previous guests' dirty cups. We sat down, started choosing the dishes and let me tell you, we were waiting for someone to come to us, my sister even called the waiters but we sat there for almost half an hour and were honestly - ignored. My little siblings were already sitting there hungry and the most unpleasant thing was that the guests who came after us were already enjoying their food. It is very unfortunate that such a situation happened, unfortunately we left after half an hour. We showed in every way what we already wanted to order, but no one came and no one cleared the dirty dishes😔

You can enjoy your beer even in bad weather

Simply 4 Nurembergers in Weckla with sauerkraut and a delicious beer. What more do you need? Nothing really 😉 And the waiter also had the right touch of humor!

It is a pity that the waitresses in the city of Nuremberg are not so friendly. My children and I sat at a dirty table for 30 minutes. No one came to clean and order, although they saw us. Customers at nearby tables who arrived later received their orders before us. We tried to call the waiters, but they ignored us. I hope this is not related to the fact that we are Ukrainians. This opinion was formed because I heard that at least one waitress spoke Russian. In other cities, this chain of restaurants is very tasty and the service is high-quality. Please pay attention to the personnel of the city of Nuremberg. They do not behave correctly.

My family and I dined here this evening. I ordered a vegan paprika goulash. This consisted of a potato and a fried pepper. I paid a whopping €18.80 for this. The price-performance ratio of my family's dishes wasn't right either. I can only recommend this restaurant for those who are absolutely hungry...

We wanted to stop there last week with the family (4 people). After 3 people had already ordered drinks, the waiter turned to me. I made it clear to him that I didn't want to drink anything at the moment. The waiter then said that that wasn't possible, that I had to drink at least one glass of water. I'm 66 years old, but I've never experienced anything like this! I cannot recommend this restaurant under any circumstances, no matter how good the food there may be. The waiter with the interesting mustache should think about this carefully.

Hello, I was with you in 2022 as part of a business lunch (InterZoo). There was a lot going on back then, trade fair + peak season, I assume, so the service was a bit overwhelmed (hence only 4 stars). We were a group of 6 people at the time and everyone was very happy with the food. Great praise!! In January 2024 I was in Nuremberg with my wife. It took a while until I found you again, but I really wanted to come to you with my wife. What can I say, we were both thrilled. The food was sensational. The service was super fast, courteous and always with a quick saying on their lips. Ambience super cozy. Without seeming cheesy. We'll definitely be back!!! Best regards from Vienna

It falls within the typically tourist places. The dishes are identical to all the other places in the center of Nuremberg, except that this one is extremely expensive. The place is very nice because it is located near the castle, the square is full of people and it is pleasant to spend the evening. Quality of food nothing special.

I liked the place, has lively vibes and nice terrace, we stopped for some good beers and wine and it was good choice, we didn't eat there, staff are kind, prices are average, beer around 5 euros and risling white wine around 5 too If I remember well

Get a spot spontaneously. It's relatively tight inside and the tables are small. But it fits well with the guest room. The beer was cold and the food was really tasty! The only negative was the strong swimming pool clor smell when the dishwasher at the counter opens. This really needs to be solved differently!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and beer in this restaurant, the service was nice. We didn't wait long for the food even though the restaurant was almost full, but most of all it was very tasty. Of course, the Augustiner beer was available within a few minutes of sitting down at the table.

I just randomly came across this restaurant while wandering around. Friendly and pleasant restaurant. Had an absolute fantastic meal, I’d say best schnitzel I’ve ever had in Germany. Great beer. If I am ever back around again I will be attending this restaurant. ❤️

The food was excellent, and the service was also satisfactory. All the staff were friendly and there was an outdoor terrace. I sat down but there was always something I needed at the table. He came to check if it was there, and the atmosphere was also nice. The bathroom is located on the second floor at the end of the hallway in the building. There is a small toilet in the upper left corner of the entrance door. There is a mark attached, and it is kept clean ^^

Very very typical Deutsch restaurant close to Nuremberg Castle. The menu Is the same of all Nuremberg restaurants, but i think that the roasted pork shoulder was very special!

Tasty food, roasted pork in a delicious sauce, the cabbage salad is worth trying, and the apple strudel with vanilla sauce is delicious.

Unfortunately, light and shadow were very close together here. Service and location top. While eating, well. Great roast pork, cheese spaetzle, the worst I've eaten in my life. Spaetzle only with some kind of cream sauce, cheese where are you?, barely bound, no melt, very bland in taste. Hello, you in the kitchen. Do you ever try what you cook?

Had beers here with friends and family on a late cold,December night. Service was great and so were the beers. Only had snacks like soup while we drank but was hot and tasty. Eventually we got too cold to stay outside and server helped us move inside as soon as space was available. Employee also took groups down a flight of stairs to show people a well that was discovered a few years ago. It was entertaining and fun and a bit of a surprise. An overall good time.
