dasPaul Restaurant & Hotel in Nürnberg

The room is very nice and big. There is a small, very well equipped kitchen. Everything was very clean. Checkin and checkout are done online, you don't need to talk to anyone, but if you have any questions you can write to them by email or WhatsApp and they will respond immediately. The location is unbeatable, 5 minutes walk from the Frauenkirche and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. As for the restaurant, it has a very cool terrace, with views of the river. The service was very friendly and attentive at all times if we needed anything.

The restaurant is beautifully located on the Pegnitz, the staff is fit and friendly. I came by for the good food and also for a beer because the Stiftungsbräu Hell tastes really great. Now Stiftungsbräu has been replaced by Erdinger 😳…. that tastes way worse. Why are you doing this? Yes, taste can be... it still doesn't taste good. Please undo this 🤷🏻‍♂️

Stylishly furnished ambience with a view of the Pegnitz. We were there for brunch. There was a diverse selection of menu options, both vegan/vegetarian and fish/meat. The drinks menu is very diverse, everyone will find something here. The quality of the food was wonderful and the presentation/decoration was very thoughtful. The service was very friendly. All in all, a wonderful place to have a relaxed brunch.

I went there for brunch - they have very interesting menu, just the portions were a bit small, but food was tasty. I got the Egg Benedict and chai latte. Service is very friendly.

For professional reasons I spent four nights at the Hotel dasPaul. At first it was a bit unusual to check in digitally without any human contact, but in the end it was very easy (and I would have had the opportunity to ask for help via the restaurant). Overall, I can warmly recommend the hotel and the restaurant and hope that it won't be the last time there.

I chose Das Paul Hotel for its spacious accommodations and location. We booked a suite with three separate rooms, two facing the street and one with a beautiful river view. The suite was well-equipped with a full kitchen and all the necessary utensils. The location was fantastic—close to the U-Bahn, making it easy to explore the city. I wish I had stayed here during my first visit! I also appreciated the option of a digital keycard, which made access super convenient. The river view ensured a peaceful atmosphere, though the street-facing room experienced some noise in the mornings due to nearby deliveries. Checkout was a breeze through their digital portal. Overall, a fantastic hotel experience.

My friend's coffee and chai latte were particularly delicious. We both had breakfast there too, and it was very good. The interior design and atmosphere were also very nice.

Modern, clean rooms in the middle of the old town. No breakfast buffet, but a very extensive selection of different, rich breakfast options. When the weather is good you can sit on the terrace right by the water. There is no elevator, but if you don't arrive with steamer suitcases, that's bearable. Any time!

Der Nachteil ist, dass das Gericht auf einem kaputten Teller serviert wurde und nicht der Menübeschreibung entsprach. Das Servieren hat lange gedauert, aber das Personal war nett.

We really enjoyed our stay at Das Paul. The room was huge and clean. The AC was a major plus since it was quite hot while we were in Nuremburg. There is no lift, so be prepared to carry luggage up the stairs! Great location and great drinks at the restaurant.

Everything was top notch - the included breakfast (1 hot dish from the menu) was very good! We particularly appreciated the air conditioning in the room and the coffee maker. Very clean. The online check-in was great. If you have a lot of luggage, you should definitely want a room on the 2nd floor, as there is no elevator and administration on the 1st floor.

Riverside location, very pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and attentive to customers' needs, the food is something wow! I can only recommend it with full conviction!

Phenomenal experience. Rooms are very comfortable. Air conditioning is very good. Location is outstanding. Bar downstairs is top-notch. Breakfast was incredible. Shout out to the taller gentleman that serves breakfast – he looked after us very well. Online check in very simple. I recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a convenient location and a comfortable hotel room.

My boyfriend and I visit this restaurant frequently and have always been happy with the food and service. But yesterday I was just disappointed: the sweet potato dish I ordered was burnt and black. The waiter said it was a type of potato that was always served fried. But that's not true, I know what it should look like! We didn't eat it, but this dish was included in the bill. A very unpleasant residue remained after visiting this restaurant!!!!.

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Paul on Saturday with 23 people and I'm really disappointed. I spent two months writing to the person responsible for events, saying that it was going to be a surprise party, that we would like to have an aperitif to toast in advance, that we needed a high chair, that I was bringing a birthday cake, etc. None of this ultimately happened was necessary to discuss. Paul's commitment made it easy to push the necessary tables together. At lunchtime I asked if we could sit on the edge, but unfortunately it wasn't possible. We were then seated in the middle surrounded by other guests. There was no children's chair at the place, decorations could only be made 15 minutes before the party (I bought everything for free), the aperitifs were only ready in time because the surprise person arrived 15 minutes late and no one knew what the cake was I brought these over. At lunchtime I asked that there be a few water bottles on the table because it was 35 degrees. Of course that didn't work either! You had to beg for drinks all evening!!! You had to constantly point out to the service that the glasses were all empty. Four or five people were then asked if they would like something to drink, the rest were ignored. The two blonde waitresses were actually consistently annoyed and rude to some of the guests. Eye rolling included. Completely unprofessional! I can't imagine that a single waiter there is an expert (there were four restaurateurs at the table, including me). Only the food was really good and came quickly and completely! I wasn't told when I booked that the football games would be broadcast. We were surrounded by football fans. That wasn't necessarily dramatic, but something like that should definitely be discussed beforehand! Conclusion: OK for coffee/cocktail drinking, please not for partying. The rooms were ok. Ours was very dark and gloomy. The bed was a disaster! The mattresses were not at the same height and there was a plastic or latex mattress protector under the fitted sheet. Therefore the fitted sheet kept slipping away and was very uncomfortable and you sweated a lot. A baby bed costs €15 extra per night and that's really a disgrace! We travel very often and baby cots are usually free. There are no parking spaces in the city center. The RECOMMENDED parking garage cost us an additional €30 per day. Even though we had a “do not disturb” sign on the door, people still entered our room while we were away. The breakfast in the bar was very tasty. However, the map is not particularly extensive. Certainly boring for a longer stay. The staff was a complete disaster (except the male waiter). Impudent, arrogant and apparently not an expert again. There, children were yelled at, rolled their eyes, and made fun of other guests. It doesn't work at all! The entire principle works across the board as intended and not as intended!

Only rate the restaurant DasPaul: Ate a very tasty salad with avocado and scampi, then unfortunately the disappointment - > a long black hair 🤮 (I myself have long blonde hair. It couldn't have been my own.) We mentioned it and got an espresso on the house. Well, considering I had only eaten half of it, okay... Still a chilled out café, cozy outside in the summer. Unfortunately there is chaos with the hoses on the grille. The windows could use a cleaning. Lucas used to be really good, but Paul was really bad.

The waitress needs to learn to do the dukedom the good 10 tables outside and we wait 49 minutes poky sour for no reason we left don't go again

Wir waren heute morgen zu zweit zum Frühstück im dasPaul. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Platz mit Blick auf die Pegnitz. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und die bestellten Getränke und Speisen wurden zügig an den Tisch gebracht. Sehr gut war das Top Avo Toast mit Avocado-Hummus-Creme und perfekt poschierten Eiern. Zu Abzügen führt hier „Pauls Vierlei“. Hier geht Quantität über Qualität. Die Wurst ist bereits optisch als Industrieprodukt aus der Verpackung zu erkennen. Auch der gemischte Käse besteht aus Produkten, die man aus Supermarkt-Regalen kennt. Angesichts der sonst guten Qualität des Essens im dasPaul, ist Pauls Vierlei ein unverständlicher negativer Ausreißer. Weniger Wurst und Käse, dafür aber bessere Qualität (z.B. Wurst von einer lokalen Metzgerei und Käse vom Händler) wäre wünschenswert und auch passender. Unpassend auch der Salat, der Wurst und Käse auf der Platte trennte. Das Dressing machte den Eindruck eines Fertigprodukts. Die ansonsten freundliche Service-Mitarbeiterin schien diese von mir vor Ort geäußerte Kritik persönlich zu nehmen und wirkte etwas unsouverän im Umgang. Aber sie hatte gefragt, ob alles passen würde… Die drei Punkte beziehen sich ausschließlich auf den heutigen Besuch und das Frühstück. Im Übrigen gehen wir gerne in dasPaul und finden das Essen auch gut.

We (2 adults and 2 small children) entered the restaurant. There was a lot of activity. My wife asked if there was a place for us. One woman replied “yes, the children just can’t get in the way”. We just swallowed this statement because we knew that our children were hungry. We then waited for 10 minutes without being served, which was too colorful. It's a shame, we were ready to spend our money there, but then left.

I've always enjoyed going to this restaurant often, but never again since today! Incredibly unfriendly and incompetent service staff. Although we were sitting there peacefully, eating and wanting to enjoy our second drink, the waitress came and literally shouted at us because we were supposedly blocking the escape route on the terrace, especially since the table had three chairs (like all the other small tables). and there were three of us. The ladies with the first names M. & J. were probably having a bad day, so many other guests, including us, were affected by their inappropriate mood. In any case, we will never set foot there again! We will also share this experience with many others.

The restaurant is highly recommended. I don't know the hotel. Good location.

Everything is great from the food to the service

In summary: The restaurant is worth a trip to Nuremberg. Sensational service, great ambience, fair prices (which are below average for normal restaurants). But all of this only forms a worthy framework for what is actually remarkable: The quality of the food (we had pizza and pasta with octopus) is absolutely outstanding. In terms of taste, they can easily compete with the world champion pizza from Vienna or the best fish restaurants in Italy or Greece. Seldom as enthusiastic as today. Thank you very much and next time I will book the table again two weeks earlier. Kind regards from Austria.

Discovered by chance. We were outside under the umbrellas, had a cafe and ate cake. Delicious. However, there was a strawberry on the cheesecake with raspberries, which wasn't good for me as an allergy sufferer. Café is located directly on the Pegnitz. Fast and friendly service. Great, modern, stylish and cozy interior, excellent breakfast! (We had Eggs Benedict with BBQ pulled chicken with avocado on toasties, totally delicious 😋, freshly squeezed orange juice and a wonderful café (latte & cappuccino), then pancakes with fruit and nougat cream) Best brunch, gladly again 👌🏻!

Da die Geschäfte noch geschlossen waren und es geregnet hat sind wir nur durch Zufall in das Paul und haben uns ein Frühstück geteilt. Avocadobrot mit Tomate Feta und Chicken. Es war so lecker, dass wir auch nach dem Ladenbummel zum Mittagstisch hin sind. Diesmal also mit Vorsatz! Hatten einen leckeren Salat mit Melone und Ziegenkäse und schwarze Nudeln mit super leckeren Oktopus und Garnelen. Das Paul war unser Highlight bei unserem Nürnberg Shoppingbesuch. Von mir gibt es eine klare Empfehlung.

Dear the Paul team, After my visit today I can say with certainty that it was my last!!! After only 10 minutes a waitress came up to us only to persistently ask us our names. Apparently we were confused with other customers who also have a southern background because we were told that they were actually banned from entering the house. After this incident, our order was still not taken until another waitress came up to us to ask us the same questions. Our order was only taken after 15 minutes. The taste of our penne Arabiatta was also not the same as on previous visits.

Dear the Paul team, Unfortunately, today after my weekly visit I was asked to get up and leave. After several clarifications, the five of us were allowed to sit at the table for four. The employee “Lisa” said that she was the boss and had the say. She asked us to leave the store. Unfortunately we had to finish our meal early in a bad mood. However, we were able to continue this warm welcome in Café Barcelona just a corner away. As long as this store is run under “Lisa” management, I will no longer come. I think it's a shame that the service treats a regular customer like this. Perhaps customer-focused training would be necessary. However, this rating only applies to owner “Lisa”. The rest of the staff has been very friendly and accommodating for the last 2-3 years. Best regards

I do not recommend this restaurant. Two ignorant young blonde waitresses. We sat down at a table where there was no reservation information - one waitress told us we could sit, the other waitress told us we couldn't sit. The time is 4:20 p.m. and the reservation is from 5:30 p.m. The lady who told us that we could stay at the table comes after five minutes and complains “it's not nice that we sat at a reserved table”. The menu is available via QR code. We asked for a paper ticket. The waitress's response: "Don't you have any phones?" I can't believe it." Dear waitresses, I recommend that you change your job in a restaurant to a stable or train as a waitress.

The Restaurant & Hotel dasPaul really blew me away. I had never been to Nuremberg before, so the hotel's heavenly location near the Nuremberg Altstatt was a real blessing. The rooms are impeccably and modernly furnished. The only thing that could be improved is the size of the bathroom and toilet, but that's really a complaint at a high level. The restaurant is also impressive. The service is absolutely friendly and the food has a TOP price-performance ratio. A breakfast costs around €13. Together with a drink you stay under 20€. Quite unusual given the quality of the food. Overall, it really deserves 5 stars. Thank you for the lovely stay here!!!

Auf der Suche nach einem feinen Abendessen, sind hier all unsere Wünsche erfüllt worden. Herzlicher Empfang mit fröhlicher Musik. Es gab Salat, Gnocchis und Maihofer Pizza, das können wir wirklich empfehlen. Leider sind wir auf der Durchreise und das Paul liegt nicht um die Ecke.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant and I have nothing but good things to say! The service was absolutely outstanding. In particular, our waiter, who had brown, curly hair, was extremely courteous and attentive. He listened to our every wish and made sure that we felt completely comfortable. The food was also first class - every dish was delicious and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming and cozy. I can highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit!

There were two of us eating because we thought "there are a lot of people sitting there, it must be good" We waited forever until we were even served, then the food (2 pizzas) still wasn't there after over an hour. When we asked we were told it would be ready soon, it would arrive in 2 minutes... another 15 minutes later the food actually arrived. The pizza with tuna also tasted quite good, but the pizza maibaum had no taste at all, as if they forgot to season it. We also wanted to complain about it or ask if it was normal. However, no one came again for over half an hour. We had only seen the waitress bringing drinks once throughout the evening, so the evening was pretty dry... when it came to paying, we were accused of saying that we could have told them about the tasteless food ... but no one came anymore... At least we didn't have to pay for the two drinks because they couldn't take the food we left back off the bill.

The service is extremely friendly and attentive. Our dog also got his own water bowl 😃 The location is of course great. The terrace borders directly on the Pegnitz 😁 Unfortunately the prices for the portions are very high. For a slice of brown bread with avocado and salmon 17 euros is really impressive. Coffee is very small.

Food and service are ok. The waiter is a completely pleasant girl, which cannot be said about her male colleagues. But the fact that a white dog that is bathed every day and groomed every weekend cannot sit on a sofa or chair and cannot even put its nose on the table just killed me! 21st century! How can you be so unfriendly to pets?!!! I am shocked!

War mit Freunden zum Geburtstagsfrühstück und es war einfach super, auch weil das ganze Ambiente besonders ist. Die Bedienungen sind super nett, die Getränke und Essen wurden super schnell gebracht sodass der gesamte Tisch zusammen essen konnte. Ein sehr leckerer kulinarischer Ausflug in einem interessant und etwas höherwertig eingerichtetem Restaurant/Café. Sehr zum empfehlen, vorallem wenn man mal etwas besonderes zu einem schönen Anlass möchte :)

Went to a birthday breakfast with friends and it was just great, also because the whole atmosphere is special. The waitresses are super nice, the drinks and food were brought out super quickly so that the entire table could eat together. A very tasty culinary excursion in an interesting and slightly higher quality restaurant/café. Highly recommended, especially if you want something special for a nice occasion :)

The central location is absolutely perfect. Right in the city, near the market square,... great. Rooms are fine, clean, only in the kitchen there was still the previous garbage in a cupboard, which wasn't great.

I've been there for breakfast a few times now and can really recommend it. The prices are a little higher, but you get really good portions and high-quality food.

We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend. The price-performance ratio cannot be beat. The rooms are modern, the hotel is very central and the breakfast is fantastic

The food is delicious even if you want to have a snack or eat something delicious.

Attention to everyone who has intolerances/allergies! The waitress just said that the pizza was gluten-free and that she had already recommended that many people try the pizza and that the dough was gluten-free, but the toppings were not (?). However, she couldn't provide me with an allergen menu or tell me what the pizza was made of. The online menu didn't say anything about gluten-free, the allergens said a (which usually stands for gluten) but there was no allergen label. Of course I didn't order the pizza, it seemed very strange to me. I have celiac disease and any dietary mistake is fatal for me and has been proven to be detrimental to my health. I then asked the waitress again if she had confused it with lactose or vegan, but she said no. When she asked again in the kitchen, they suddenly said that almost all salads and sweet potato fries would work, except the salads with cheese (apparently confused with lactose). I then asked why the cheese wouldn't work, there shouldn't normally be gluten in cheese and she was visibly confused. The normal fries don't work and because everything is fried together, the sweet potato fries don't work either. In the end I just drank a little but found the experience very frightening, there are people who don't question the whole thing and then it's simply negligent bodily harm 🤷🏼‍♀️ so please be careful!

Good restaurant on the banks of the Pegnitz River, which crosses Nuremberg. The food is fine, good and simple, and not very expensive; The service is a little slow, but it can be understood with the volume of diners they serve at the same time.

An absolute disaster at dasPaul! We thought we could have a pleasant time here, but that was a mistake. We decided to sit inside due to the cold, only to find that it was drafty inside like a blizzard! The service was so unfriendly that we felt like we were unwanted guests. When we politely asked to close the door to the terrace, we were brusquely told that this was not possible as it was the boss's instructions. How can it be that customers have to sit inside with jackets while it's freezing outside? An absolutely disappointing experience that I cannot recommend to anyone.

We spent a few days in Nuremberg and visited several restaurants. Unfortunately, illness forced us to cut short the trip, otherwise we might have stopped here twice. Our group of 6 people were warmly greeted and seated straight away. We were lucky with the table. It was very well attended and a reservation is recommended for a group. The team is young, modern, attentive and very polite. If requested, the map can also be made in paper form, otherwise digitally. The food was fresh and delicious. We recommend lasagne, pizza tonno and burrata. The local beer tastes the same everywhere ;-) The view of the river from the terrace is wonderful. When it's a little cooler, the team turns on heaters. They are really very attentive. Thank you for the good experience with our large family. We felt very comfortable and this restaurant left a great impression on us. We really can't say that about every innkeeper in Nuremberg. Thank you!

Very good restaurant, but a reservation is required on weekends, otherwise you can have a reserved table for the free period.

Super hotel right in the old town

- Disrespectful behavior - At around 11:25 p.m. on March 2nd, 2024 we were in the bar and wanted to drink something and order a salad - at least that was the plan. Before we went into the bar, there were a few waiters outside and the inside was still full of customers. We briefly thought about whether we should go in or not and then we went in (because we were wondering why there were several waiters outside). We were also noticed by the waiters. We were inside and sat at the table for about 12 minutes and then a waiter went behind the bar. Since none of these waiters spoke to us, I went to the waiter at the bar and asked if we couldn't order anything ( ?!). We then got the answer that it was over at 11 p.m. and that there would be no more service/sales from here on out. All well and good, BUT why can't you communicate something like that to someone when you see customers standing, then walk in and then notice that they're sitting at the table inside?! To be honest, I don't bother just sitting somewhere, being ignored and certainly not ordering anything?? Then I said straight away that it wasn't okay at all, that something like that can be communicated to you when you see them walking in and I never received an apology or a regret from a waiter. As I turned around and wanted to go out, I noticed THIS waiter rolling his eyes behind my back. Sorry, but that's a disgrace!! That was the last time I came into your bar ;-)

Location, rooms, staff, location. Simply great! Above all, the extremely friendly staff and the brilliant breakfast should be highlighted. We stayed 4 nights with a group of 12 people. TOP!

We ate at Paul on a Sunday evening and both loved it. We were served by Marina who took care of us. Food was super tasty. Since this was our first experience at Paul, we were unsure about the portion size, which was very generous. Marina also gave us great advice on this. Food came quickly and despite a small mix-up that was quickly resolved, we were completely satisfied! Gladly again!

Nicely furnished room and super central. Everything can be walked on foot. There is also a public parking garage nearby. There is a small kitchen in the room and there is generally enough space in the bathroom. Unfortunately it is very noisy because the windows are not very tight and there are restaurants and clubs downstairs. Addendum: I booked a room here again. That was just the normal hotel room, which was too small and cramped for me personally. The bathroom in particular is very narrow. I don't find the hairdryer and socket directly at the sink to be an advantage either. You also have to open the shower doors if you want to go to the toilet and don't want to hit your head there. The two hooks for the towels are pretty high up.

We came without a reservation and still found a place quickly. Service also friendly and attentive. Food was very tasty, the steak was just right. Highly recommended!

Nice place with nice view and nice terrace. I was only there to have breakfast with a friend. Fast and pleasant service. The avocado/salmon toast was really delicious. I'm just removing one star because it's when we pay that we are told that we can only pay in cash! lol huh? And if we don't have one, what happens? 🙄😂

We picked this hotel because of it's location, and it indeed is the best part of it. The self check in was a bit weird as there were no clear instructions. We noticed other people having the same puzzled look on their face. Instructions could be easily emailed. Ultimately we figured it out and opening the door with your phone is great, no need for a key. The room is fine, it's clean, great to just go to sleep after a nice day in the city; not really for hanging out and enjoying the room. Our room had a weird toilet placing where it would be hard for a tall person to sit on, luckily we aren't big or tall, but it would be an issue for others. Also be aware that there is no elevator, so if you have issues with stairs or heavy suitcase you'll want to stay as low as possible. The room had AC, we didn't need it in Feb, but it's good to know they have it as I'm sure it's quite hot in the summer. Check out was relatively easy once you figured it out by scanning the QR on the door. I had to find the reservation number AGAIN, so have it handy. We only had drinks at the restaurant, which were great and very friendly staff. Would recommend going even if not staying. Nice place to just sleep right in the middle of the city. To the staff, just add clear instructions on what to do in an email; would make a world of difference.

I had breakfast there. It was spectacular. Very friendly, fast service, with perfect English. I ordered a mixed plate of cold cuts and cheese, with egg and salad. Delicious 🤤 and freshly squeezed juice. Very very rich and good vibes! I recommend without a doubt
