Nice room in a very central location. Unfortunately, there's no elevator and the room has carpeted floors.

I highly recommend it. The rooms are nice and clean. The bathroom is also nice. The hotel is located in the pedestrian zone (noisy in the morning, despite soundproof windows). The old town and its sights are within walking distance. That's great and we really liked it. Parking is only available in the surrounding parking garages and is expensive: €20-25 per day. Nevertheless, I would happily stay here again. The restaurant and bar are downstairs and are right on the Pegnitz River with a beautiful view. The food here is delicious and the best pizza we've had in a long time.

Unfortunately, not recommended. We were hotel guests on a weekend. Paul is a trendy bar with an outdoor terrace. It was very loud, and sleep was impossible. The bar was open until midnight. After that, they were noisily cleaning up for a long time. From 6:00 a.m. onward, they were noisily cleaning up again.

Very unfriendly employees. They seated others outside even though we were there early. I approached the employee and said "Excuse me," but she responded with an unfriendly "hm." Very disrespectful.

Top 👍🏻 We were passing through and Nuremberg appealed to us – a really beautiful city, by the way. We found this hotel on Booking.com. Fair price, including breakfast. We were greeted very charmingly and pleasantly by a young man from the restaurant. Our room, 403, was at the top and there was no elevator. Since I like counting my steps, that didn't bother me; we naturally had a beautiful view. The room was extremely clean, even had a small coffee machine, delicious drinks, and water in the fridge. Modern, practical rooms in the middle of the (old) city, a top address. It couldn't be more central. OK, unfortunately you have to park in the parking garage, but that's fine. We highly recommend this hotel. If the windows are open, it's naturally noisy because it's in the middle of the city, but if you close them, you can't hear a thing. We would come back anytime. Very centrally located in the pedestrian zone, check-in was easy, and the room was clean and adequately spacious. The café, where breakfast is served, has attentive and friendly staff. We were lucky enough to sit outside in the sunshine, right by the Pegnitz River. Perfect for a trip to Nuremberg!

We've been there several times now, and I've never experienced such attentive, polite, and wonderful staff! I highly recommend it and would happily go back. Plus, everything is delicious, and the prices are completely reasonable.

The bed and mattress were very good, and the room itself was also okay. Carpeted floor, therefore not hygienic. Doors were very worn and the paint chipped. Wallpaper was damaged and not very visually appealing. Showers – showerheads were very good, but the tile grout had mold stains.

A small, fine hotel in the heart of Nuremberg's city center. You're right in the middle of the action and have everything around you. The rooms are nicely furnished, but there are obvious signs of wear and tear. Unfortunately, the ventilation in the bathroom is also very loud. Opening the window is impossible, as the restaurant with a terrace is directly below, and it's quite loud. Only the air conditioning provided relief from the stuffy air. Despite canceling housekeeping, the rooms were cleaned every day.

Nice clean and spacious rooms in a quiet area. Nice and helpful staff. Accommodation and check-in is online. The hotel has no parking but a few meters from the hotel there is a parking garage for 30 euros. The hotel also offers breakfast for less than 18 euros per person

We were here for breakfast; the pancakes, scrambled eggs, and coffee were delicious, and the lemonades were also great. The terrace with a view of the water is very cozy, and the service was excellent!

Really neat boutique Hotel. Rooms are former apartments and therefore quite large with kitchen and 2 bed rooms. There is no elevator to get in so unfortunately this is not suitable for disabled people. The service at the restaurant was perfect and we couldn't ask for anything more, even though it was quite busy he was excellent.

A thoroughly enjoyable visit to Paul Restaurant! We recently visited Paul Restaurant in Nuremberg and were absolutely thrilled – especially with the exceptional service! From the very beginning, we felt welcome and well looked after. Special praise goes to Anna and Carlos, who made our evening perfect. Both were incredibly attentive, friendly, and always kept an eye on things – even with a full house. Our requests were met quickly and professionally without being intrusive. Empty glasses? Refilled in no time. Questions about the menu? Answered patiently and competently. You can tell that the work here is done with passion and dedication. The timing between courses was also perfect – no long waits, but still enough time to enjoy each course. In conclusion: Not only was the food outstanding, but above all, the service made this evening special. Thank you, Anna and Carlos! We will definitely be back.

We only went to the restaurant and had a great meal—noodles. Even though it was very busy, we got a table right away and had a lovely seat by the water 😀 We didn't get to see the hotel.

A great hotel that has apartment rooms available. Breakfast is amazing and the staff very friendly. We had the room cleaned every day too. Location is central to the Altsatdt area and everything was easily walkable from this location. Definitely worthwhile staying here.

⸻ I've eaten at this restaurant several times and, unfortunately, I have to say that the service has increasingly disappointed me. I was particularly struck by a dark-haired, southern-American waitress with whom we repeatedly had bad experiences, as she seemed perpetually irritated and unfriendly. On our anniversary, I asked to change seats because I was sick and we were seated right by the door, even though many other tables were free. Another waiter was friendly and allowed the change. Shortly afterward, the aforementioned waitress came over and reprimanded him right in front of us in a very inappropriate tone, claiming that she knew what she was doing. Such behavior toward colleagues, and especially in front of guests, is absolutely unprofessional. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time we've been treated unfriendly by her. The repeated poor service seriously spoils the overall experience, even though the food is really good. It's a shame, but because of the unpleasant behavior from the waitress, I won't be visiting this restaurant again in the future and won't recommend it to anyone. Good service is just as important as good food!!!!

Can highly recommend this hotel

Room: The room has a long-pile carpet, which was clinging to the carpet. Towel hooks were mounted too high (approximately 2.1 meters). Trash cans were unwieldy, and the cosmetic bin was unhygienic due to its twist-off lid. Balcony: After rain, puddles formed directly in front of the balcony door, making it impassable. Service: Drinking water was forgotten upon arrival. On the second day, our room was forgotten to be cleaned, and thus, there was no water or coffee capsule refills. The breakfast was excellent, but unfortunately, the selection and number of drinks was not explained to us until the second morning.

I think waiting to be seated is a wonderful thing. Except when you're waited for but not seated. So I stood in the restaurant's entrance area for five minutes, and despite repeated eye contact with the waitress, nothing much happened. So I stood right next to the waitress, who was deep in private(!) conversation with her friends. Still no reaction. My "Do you have a seat for me...?" was met with an annoyed "Just sit down somewhere!" No eye contact. Any questions? No chance. My friends were probably more interesting. "Das Paul" is probably not going to be my next stop. There are professionals there. Real professionals with good service.

It's a great hotel with a lovely restaurant. The location is perfect. There are two things that can be annoying. At night, it can be very noisy from people walking by, and the beds are very hard, so you won't get a particularly restful night's sleep.

I come here often, but the service has deteriorated considerably. We reserved a table right by the water by phone the day before for a large group, as experience has shown that they're always full. The gentleman on the phone said it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived on time, the tables were occupied, and we were assigned random tables. The food and drinks are usually good, but the service needs improvement.

The breakfast is absolutely delicious, definitely book it when you arrive 😀 We stayed in the Oldtown Studio, which was really great. The location is perfect. Perhaps it should be mentioned, however, that there are very narrow, steep stairs that might not be suitable for everyone.

Our experience relates exclusively to the restaurant/bar. We were here for dinner the night before a concert and had a wonderful time. All of the staff were extremely friendly, courteous, and prompt in their service. We were even able to request a front-row seat by the river when an unreserved table became available! 🫶🏻🤌 The lemonades and cocktails were excellent, and the food we enjoyed was of great quality, well-seasoned, and good value for money. Instead of the quinoa salad I ordered with watermelon and mango, it was served with plenty of leaf lettuce and, instead of melon and mango, a small sliced ​​apple – and this was served without any comment. When I pointed this out to the gentleman, they replied that they didn't know exactly what the menu said. When I showed the gentleman the dish on the menu, he barely said anything but wanted to send his supervisor "so I could complain there." Neither the supervisor nor our waiter responded – no apology, no explanation, no solution. The price (€15.90) ​​for the rather small salad was already ambitious, but the way it was served was simply not justified. To make matters worse, the fact that we were denied tap water in 33°C heat despite ordering additional food and drinks only added to the disappointment. Definitely more show than substance. Neither a culinary highlight, nor service- or solution-oriented, and apparently not interested in repeat customers – which is obviously not necessary given the actually very good location.

The hotel is very clean, and you can do your own laundry. It's right in the center. The hotel representative was very understanding because it didn't suit our needs. Saturday evening, 9:30 p.m. We walked as a group (Southern German, two women and a man) to the entrance. A small group ahead of us was turned away, also not typically German in appearance. There were about four tables free outside. No "reserved" signs to be seen. The "doorman" quickly received assistance from inside. We were turned away too, supposedly everything was reserved. But we were pretty quick to react. Oh well. We left and called five minutes later and made a reservation. In half an hour, outside. Under a German name. It worked. Weird. When we called again and confronted the person, all we got were flimsy excuses. A disgrace. We were clearly discriminated against because of our "origin," or, as the jargon calls it, our "immigrant background." I have never in my life been turned away from a café or bar. With two women as my companion, mind you.

An absolutely shocking experience. I went there with my family. The waitress was unfriendly from the start and instructed us to take our drinks from her tray and place them on the table ourselves. When I politely declined, my drink was simply refused. I explained that I expected table service in a café – it didn't say anywhere that it was self-service. Her reaction? "Then you can leave if you don't like it." Shortly afterward, an employee came and asked me to pay the family's entire bill and leave the establishment – ​​even though I had barely consumed anything. Because I refused, they called the police. Two officers arrived and, under false pretenses (I had allegedly insulted the staff – which is untrue), forced me to pay the full bill and leave the establishment. I left the café deeply disappointed, shocked, and humiliated. This place has lost all respect for its customers. A dangerously arrogant attitude. I strongly advise against it – avoid this café.

Came today at 20:30 to eat and have a drink and the guy in the entrance told me that without reservation we can not have a seat. the half of the place was empty. :) I have called them to make a reservation. The girl on the phone told me that we can come in and they will find a place for us. We came again and the guy said without the reservation number we can not seat. Bla bla bla we had to talk to the manager who was the same arrogant as the guy from the entrance. They asked what do we want to have: eat or drink ? Whattt how come you get such a service when you just want to have a nice time in the evening. The worst place to go

I actually like going to Paul, but who needs a functioning ordering system or friendly staff when you can just be served a portion of confusion and passive aggressiveness for breakfast? We treated ourselves to – quite decadently – Eggs Benedict. My friend ordered extra ham and spinach. I modestly stuck with the basic version, because you don't want to overdo it in the morning. The tension was building – what would be delivered? Drum roll: One plate with spinach, one with ham. Of course! Because why bother taking the order when you can just dice it? I took the one with spinach so as not to send the poor plate to food hell (sustainability first!), but politely asked for my friend to add the spinach she had actually ordered – just a little greenery, not world domination. The surprise came with the bill. Instead of the €0.50 listed on the menu for extra spinach, it was a whopping €3. And I actually only accepted it because it was brought to me incorrectly. When I asked, I was given a friendly, passive-aggressive explanation: "If you order it later, it'll just be more expensive." – Aha! A true price jump miracle. Perhaps the spinach turns into organic gold during the conversation? When I remarked, slightly confused, that this was a bit... let's say: inconsistent, the waiter decided to take the professional route: handing out three euros without comment – ​​service with heart! Conclusion: If you're looking for chaos, absurd pricing logic, and grumpy faces in the morning, Paul is the place for you. For everyone else: Maybe just toast a bagel at home – at least then you know what's on it.

Disappointing Experience – Not a Recommendation I visited the Paul restaurant in Nuremberg and was unfortunately extremely disappointed with both the food and the service. I first ordered the Forest dish, which was inedible. The cheese used had such an unpleasant taste that I couldn't continue eating after a single bite. I politely pointed this out to the waitress and ordered a Caesar salad instead, hoping for a better alternative. Unfortunately, this salad was also served with a strong-smelling cheese that was also barely acceptable in terms of taste. When I asked, I was told it was Parmesan... but in fact, it was a different, presumably goat-based cheese with a very intense flavor, which was clearly not typical Parmesan. What particularly disappointed me: Despite my legitimate complaint and the fact that I couldn't eat either dish, I was offered no accommodations—neither a replacement nor a discount. I had to pay for both dishes in full. In my opinion, this is unacceptable treatment of guests and demonstrates a lack of understanding of service. I will definitely not visit this restaurant again and unfortunately cannot recommend Paul to anyone.

I work in Nuremberg, so I actually enjoy eating here. The food always looks beautifully presented. But this week I was very disappointed. We ordered our favorite bread and it was served ice cold. We told the waiter we didn't want it that way, and he took it away and brought us a new one. Unfortunately, we discovered that we were served the exact same bread again, and this time it was lukewarm. After explaining the quality a second time, he just said he'd pass it on. That was it. It's a shame they didn't take us seriously.

We were there on Mother's Day. The restaurant is in a beautiful location. The food, the prices, and the waiting time were absolutely outrageous. We both ordered Eggs Benedict with Serrano ham. We had to wait 45 minutes. People who arrived after us without a reservation got their food earlier than us. There were only two waiters for the huge outdoor area, and they were also disorganized. For 15 minutes, no one came, and then two waiters came, each a minute apart, to take our drinks, and the same thing happened 5 minutes later with the food. When the eggs arrived after an eternity of waiting, we were excited. But then disappointment set in. Our food was cold; the eggs were hard-boiled on the inside, even though anyone knows they're supposed to be runny. The hollandaise sauce could have been bought at Lidl; then it would at least have tasted like something. The muffins the eggs were served on were untoasted and dry. It looked as if they had never been near a toaster. The portion size was ridiculous; my mother is a petite woman, and even she didn't have enough. It wouldn't have filled a normal adult. The Serrano ham was pale and rubbery. The slices were much too thick, and the characteristic flavor was completely missing. This ham had, at most, been temporarily stored in a cold storage facility in Andalusia, but nothing more. My mother only had an orange juice, and I had a homemade lemonade, and we paid a total of 45 euros. That was an absolute disgrace, and a real shame, as the location and the outdoor area were very nice.

The colleague said that we should wait, then nothing came for 15 minutes. We had to contact us and then the table was supposedly reserved. The service here has to be experienced. Half the tables were empty outside at 11:55 on a Saturday. Took 18 minutes for one of the 3 outside staff to grace me with their presence as they were too occupied standing around or carrying seat covers from one end of the sun deck to the other. After asking to be served twice after 5 and 10 minutes I gave up and enjoyed the sun. Ordered a coffee and avocado chicken for breakfast. Another 3 minutes go byand I am then told breakfast has finished. After mentioning I arrived before 12:00 waitress said so you still want the coffee while looking somewhere else. Took the coffee which was served in a small glass for a big price, paid and left. No idea if the food is any good but service was -10. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Nice place for breakfast, there are enough seats inside, but also on the beautiful terrace outside. The selection is great, the food is served quickly and is flawless. The selection of drinks is really great, there are different types of Chai Latte with different flavors. The ambience invites you to linger, so a delicious breakfast can turn into a delicious lunch with an aperitif. The service is friendly and attentive. It's not for nothing that I don't come here for the first time.

Instead of an apology, the company also wants to appear clever. What a user writes about half the stage is completely correct. I myself stumbled on the way out. I wanted to call the police straight away, but my husband persuaded me wrongly. So I have to assume that the user is also right about the corridor. In this case, stupidity is not an insult, but a fact. I don't know who answers the comments, but if he also chooses the staff, it's completely normal for everything to go wrong. The staff knows their stuff, so they don't stumble. 2. The corridor was in no way blocked! 5m distance is 3 times as much as desired. It is therefore rather strange that the author of the answer cannot even read properly. 3. I just read the comment of another user who stumbled and even wanted to call the police. 4. Sometimes an apology is enough. If you persist in stupidity and stubbornness, things will get worse... 5. It's no coincidence that so many give grades 1/5

Top hotel in a top location. There is almost no better alternative for a stay in Nuremberg! Uncomplicated check-in, very clean rooms. Thank you.

If in an almost empty restaurant with three employees behind the counter no one feels compelled to take an order, and you are then cheekily insulted as you leave because you have probably just interrupted something important (mobile phone...)... it is sad but true that you can unfortunately no longer go to Paul as usual every time you stroll through town... it's a shame!

The food was great, but the service was initially outrageous...but luckily she got off work and then the service was great. ...if Izmir can look for the table and then sit down with water even if the table hasn't been cleaned yet, I really don't have to hear that it would be cool to choose a clean table next time. It would be cool if you did your job promptly and didn't just chat with friends. But as I said, the service was great afterwards...

We were here for lunch last Saturday…the conditions were very friendly, food tasted very good. Nice atmosphere on the terrace. We'll be back.

A hotel in the city center of Nuremberg, well located, but it was far too loud for us. The breakfast was good and more than plentiful, unfortunately the service could not meet the requirements.

Do not (try to) dine here if you are a solo traveler! Made a reservation for brunch, checked in at the bar and told them I would sit out on the balcony. Many other people sitting out there, and still plenty of empty tables. Now I know why. A waiter brought me a menu. I waited 15 minutes and no one came to my table. I went inside and reminded them I was ready to order. Waited 5 more minutes, no one came to my table and I could see waitstaff doing side work, not busy. Went inside to return my menu. A waitress said she could serve me if I sat at the bar. No, the weather is lovely, plenty others are seated outside. Don’t waste your time.

Unfortunately we were not satisfied with the service on our last visit. When we made the reservation, we expressly asked not to be seated at a table directly by the door. However, this request was not taken into account when we arrived. Despite repeated requests on site and the fact that an alternative table would have been available, no solution was offered. We would have been willing to wait a few minutes to get a more suitable seat, but that wasn't offered to us either. So we ended up having to sit at a table right by the door, where it felt uncomfortably cold due to the constant opening and the overall experience was significantly affected. The behavior of the shift management was particularly disappointing, as it seemed unaccommodating and not particularly solution-oriented. The waiter in charge, on the other hand, was friendly and tried hard, but unfortunately couldn't do much in this situation due to his position. Overall, this stay was so disappointing for us that we decided not to visit the restaurant again in the future.

We were there for breakfast. The service was very good and also nice. The breakfast selection is limited, but very well prepared and very tasty. The prices were quite high, but the positives outweighed this. Great restaurant.

Very nice restaurant, went there for a nightcap. After ordering (Espresso Martini) we were informed that the coffee machine was already out. Always a terrible sentence 🙄 But the “substitute” Negroni was still good and the waitress was also very friendly.

Great service and delicious cocktails. The desserts are also fantastic. The atmosphere is absolutely lovely, as you can sit outside with patio heaters. Really great. We really felt very comfortable.

I really like going to the hotel/restaurant in the summer to have a drink. It's a super cozy place with great drinks and a wonderful view of the river. I celebrated my birthday there in the winter inside and it was great! The atmosphere inside is also very nice. The waiters were very friendly. The food was ok

All in all completely okay. Nice, cozy atmosphere. We were only there for breakfast.

Due to the central location I can't complain at all. Restaurants or bars can be reached in a few minutes on foot, the room service was there in the morning and cleaned the room very satisfactorily and provided new towels.

The location of the hotel is great. Checking in using the app was very relaxed and easy. The rooms were very nice and modernly furnished. It was the perfect accommodation for our group. The staff from the hotel and restaurant were very accommodating and friendly. Recommend it to everyone! 😊
