Great and cozy atmosphere with excellent home-style cooking. We were here for lunch. Simple but delicious food, attentive service. During peak hours, you might have to wait a bit, but then it gets really busy. We were completely satisfied (recommendation: chicken fricassee with rice and vegetables!) and will definitely be back.

You won't find better service. The same goes for the quality of the veal liver I had here. Very professional level.

Ate here with my wife. We were looking for a charming restaurant with good food. We shared a large goat cheese salad as a starter. While waiting for the starter, we were given delicious baguettes with a refreshing spread. For my main course, I had taggiatella with cream of mushroom sauce and chicken breast pieces, and risotto with seared bass fillet. Both were delicious, although the risotto could have been a bit less waterlogged. We both had ice cream for dessert. We drank two Weizen beers, two Bittet Lemons, and a bottle of table water. We didn't have a reservation, but luckily that wasn't a problem. It was pleasantly busy but not full; it's a large restaurant with a spacious terrace. The service was polite, efficient, and quick. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere.

I absolutely loved my dinner last night! My beef stroganoff was amazing. I have never had it with julienne cut dill pickles in it but it was fantastic. My salad was not over dressed and was refreshing. The staff were friendly and working extremely hard and fast. And they had great beer! This place is great and I will be back soon!

We went there for dinner today. I had raved to my friend about her salad. I had a ginger carrot soup and a salad. Unfortunately, the soup arrived and according to the waitress I had 'Spanish sausage'. I then politely asked the waitress what was in the soup because at first I thought it might be dried tomatoes. She then told me it was dried Spanish sausage... As a vegetarian, I would have been really happy if they had met my needs a little better and perhaps offered me something, like taking the soup back, because they could see that I was absolutely not happy about the sausage in the soup. We were never asked during the meal if everything was OK. In the end we went in and looked at the menu again to see if it actually said sausage, but unfortunately it only said 'chorinzo'. Unfortunately, I didn't know what that meant. My friend and I just thought it was a nice name for the soup. The waitress saw this and said 'next time just ask directly, then you can avoid something like that :/ The salad wasn't tasty either, to be honest. Unfortunately, it was a waste of money; for us, it's not worth a visit. What a shame!

Food was good and despite the crowds reasonably fast. We only found it a bit "strange" that you get a bag with 6 pieces of bread. No spread on it or anything, just dry bread. But that could be us, that we are not used to it.

Das mitten in der Fußgängerzone gelegene Restaurant bietet gutes Essen zu einigermaßen moderaten Preisen, rasche und freundliche Bedienung, aber sowohl das Ambiente wie auch der Charakter des Innenbereichs wirkten auf mich ein wenig zu sehr nach schneller Abfertigung der Gäste. Daher bevorzuge ich andere Restaurants in der Trierer Innenstadt, die bei gleicher Qualität mehr zum Verweilen einladen.

Would have given an extra half star if possible however not five stars - which is a shame because it’s so close to being perfect… the food & service was superb. If anything the food portions were too big, if you’ve a big appetite it won’t be a problem! Lovely wine reasonable priced .. overall a lovely experience & would recommend without hesitation.

Wir waren mit unseren drei Kindern in der Brasserie. Sie hatte alle drei die Pouladenbrust gegessen und sind zeitgleich 12 Stunden später erkrankt. Fast einen Tag haben sie im 15 Minuten Takt erbrochen, das etwa 15 bis 20 Mal. Eine schreckliche Erfahrung, ein Tag vor Silvester. Sie waren nicht transportfähig und wir mussten über Telefon ärztlichen Rat einholen. Obwohl wir sie als Eltern rund um die Uhr versorgt haben, wurden wir nicht krank. Ich habe mich daraufhin mit der Brasserie in Verbindung gesetzt. Jeglicher Zusammenhang zu Ihrem Essen wurde sofort abgetan. Ärztliche Atteste wurden eingefordert, statt sich zu entschuldigen und kollanter Weise die drei Essen ohne viel Aufhebens z. B. zu erstatten. Diese Reaktion in einem als gut bekannten Resteraunt hat mich erschreckt. Als Gast war ich plötzlich in der Nachweispflicht und mir wurde unterstellt, ihr Resteraunt zu verunglimpfen. Natürlich kann so etwas passieren, lediglich die Reaktion darauf war unangebracht und unprofessionell. Von daher kann ich nicht mehr empfehlen, hier zu essen. Silvester fiel auf Grund der schweren Erkrankungen der Kinder ins Wasser.

A culinary highlight! The brasserie in Trier is without a doubt an absolute insider tip and a must for all lovers of fine cuisine! My visit there was a real treat and thrilled us. My wife chose the Zurich Geschnetzelte, accompanied by fresh spaetzle tossed in butter and a crisp salad with an unobtrusive, yet cleverly seasoned dressing. Everything was perfectly prepared and tasted great. I chose “Dem Trierer's favorite plate”, which lived up to its name: a delicious combination of tender Kassler, hearty liver dumpling and spicy bratwurst. There was also creamy mashed potatoes with bacon cubes and a wonderfully aromatic sauerkraut. Every bite was a feast for the senses, authentic yet finely tuned. The ambience is just as impressive as the food. The brasserie manages to combine the elegance of a star restaurant with an attention to detail that makes your stay unforgettable. The friendly and attentive wait staff rounded off the visit perfectly and ensured that we felt completely at home. Conclusion: The brasserie in Trier is more than just a restaurant - it is an experience that I can warmly recommend to everyone. Here we cook and serve with passion. Absolute recommendation and two thumbs up! We'll definitely be back.

Yesterday evening it was another great New Year's Eve in the Gangolfstube. Very excellent three-course menu, good wine and, above all, very attentive and friendly service. Still a highlight, even after years. Keep it up!!!

I loved it. Good German cuisine is often underestimated. This restaurant ticks all the boxes: refinement, decoration, service, but what's more, there's plenty on your plate!

We were able to stop there spontaneously without having made a reservation. We were served very attentively and friendly and chose a vegetarian and a meat dish.. Both were delicious, beautifully presented and the portion sizes were completely sufficient. We had a lovely evening in this pleasant location and would happily recommend this restaurant without reservation.. Thank you..

Very nice restaurant and very nice staff

Wir waren vor einem Jahr hier und ich war restlos begeistert. Die Frage ist, geht man erneut in ein solch tolles Lokal? Wird man bestätigt oder entäuscht? Nun wir sind das Riskio eingegangen und haben einen Tisch reserviert, ohne ist es schwer dort unterzukommen. Um es kurz zu machen es wr wieder gut, aber leider gab es dieses mal auch das ein oder andere zu kritisieren. Der Service war gewohnt klasse, die Mensche dort lieben ihren Job und das spürt man. Die erste Enttäuschung war das Tartar vom Rind. Da gibt es nur eine Meinung, ein Tartar wird mit dem Messer geschnittet und nie gewolft. Drück man das gute Fleisch durch den Wolf erhälnt man Mett und kein Tartar. In diesem Fall war es so fein gewolft, das es schon eher ein Farce war. Ein sehr unangenehmes, breiiges Mundgefühl. Die Hauptspeisen waren erstklassig, mein Lamm war ein Traum, die Jus ein Gedicht und auch der Burgunderbraten meiner Frau war zart und sehr lecker. Da war wieder "meine" Brasserie. Ein weiterer Punkt der mir nicht gefallen hat war die Temperatur meines Cabernet Sauvignon. In meiner Ausbildung habe ich gelernt, das diese Tanin haltigen Weine bei 16-18 Grad serviert werden. Ich denke, das der Wein eher leicht drüber lag und wärmer war. Da ich aber generell auch Rotweine kühle, hätte ich den Wein gerne gemessen um dem Lokal nicht unrecht zu tun. Auf jeden Fall machen fast alle Weinlokale eine Fehler, sie geben nur bei Weißweinen einen Weinkühler. Selbst wenn der Cab seine 18 Grad hatte als wie ihn bekamen, in der Zeit des Essens wird er wärmer und sein Alkohol spielt sich immer mehr nach vorne. Ja ich hätte vorher fragen sollen, ob das Tartar geschnitten wird und ja ich hätte nach einem Weinkühler fragen können, aber ich war zu beseelt von meinem letzten Besuch vor Ort. Komme ich nun ein drittes Mal in die Brasserie? Sicher, aber dann frage ich vorher kritischer nach, den das Lokal ist für mch immer noch das beste Lokal in Trier.

The brasserie is highly recommended. We received a friendly welcome and were given a table for two people despite not having a reservation. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The pumpkin soup and the broth were extremely tasty. The beef fillet was perfectly on point. The pepper sauce is a dream. The tartare like butter. The world's best chocolate pudding was really delicious. Whether the world's best? That's for others to decide, but definitely in the top 10. A huge compliment to the kitchen. Really great.

Wir kamen an eine Montag Abend (viele Lokale haben Ruhetag) mit 6 Personen ohne Reservierung. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und für uns wurde ein schöner Tisch zusammengeschoben, obwohl das Lokal durch eine Veranstaltung fast voll war. Das Essen war sehr gut und wir haben es nicht bereut, hier einzukehren.

Reservations are definitely recommended as the restaurant is always busy. Very nice and attentive service, everyone was friendly and in a good mood. The waiting times for food are not excessively long. Price/performance of the food is completely okay. The dishes were all freshly prepared and super tasty. Overall, everything was beautifully presented. As a starter there was a homemade curd dip with white bread, everything was perfect.

They were all friendly and very professional in this busy town centre brasserie. The menu choice was excellent and everything we had was delicious. Wonderful potato pancakes with apple sauce and outstanding calves liver with onions and mash! We were recommended a delicious rose wine and our dog was also given a warm welcome! German hospitality at its best! A great choice for dinner!

We had a lovely evening at Brasserie. Our waiter was most accommodating, and fortunately with excellent English as our German isn’t too good. The food is traditional German, and presented beautifully. A couple of reviews have suggested it is expensive, but we didn’t find it so, there are lots of main courses for under 25 Euros, and a wide range of drinks options. Considering the professional service, ambiance and quality it was good value.

We had a voucher...! We waited a long time for the beer... And that during the afternoon... Once roast beef, once sliced ​​veal with side dishes... Conclusion: The voucher is gone. I can recommend better restaurants...!

Maleducazione totale. Non avevamo prenotato ma il cameriere ci conferma che all’interno potevano cenare. Ci accompagna ad un bancone con sgabelli apparecchiato senza tovaglia quando tutti i tavoli lo sono e molto eleganti. Chiediamo alla sua collega se possiamo spostarci in un tavolo più comodo e con tovaglia ed acconsente. Ritorna il cameriere e sgarbatamente ci chiede perché siamo seduti lì dopo la spiegazione rimprovera la collega e ci dice di alzarci perché il tavolo era riservato. Ma nessun tavolo all’interno era riservato in quanto nessuno aveva il cartello Riservato come per esempio i tavoli all’esterno. Dobbiamo alzarci e basta. Al che andiamo via indignati ed arrabbiati e siccome urlo che è un maleducato davanti ad altri clienti che stavano arrivando ci dice che c’è stato un errore e il tavolo era riservato. Educato con i tedeschi maleducato con due italiani entrati con il sorriso gentilmente

Ate dinner and it was really good food we got. Snails in garlic and shrimp cocktail, 2 x beef tenderloins with pepper sauce and French fries and a bowl of salad. The meat was really tender and well cooked. The waiters were nice and friendly. They spoke good English and were there all the time. A good eating place all in all. Can be recommended.

Das Restaurant wird zu hoch bewertet. Sicher, das Essen ist gut. Doch es gibt in Trier viel bessere Restaurants. Alles in allem waren wir hier zwei drei mal essen, doch das beste Restaurant ist es nicht. Die Lage in der Fußgängerzone ist ideal, wenn man zwischen dem Einkaufen etwas kleines zu mittag essen möchte. Für ein Abendessen gehen wir wo anders hin. Der Service war professionell. Preis Leistung gut. Wein in Ordnung. Bei den Speisen waren meist zufrieden, enttäuscht waren wir nur einmal vom Hühnerfrikassee, das sehr sehr wässrig war. Der Rest war immer gut. Drinnen gibt es leider nur wenig Tageslicht. Das ganze ist doch sehr bieder und irgendwie will es schicker sein, als es ist. Was definitiv fehlt ist persönliche Ansprache und Charakter.

The food was excellent, from steak to Zurich Geschnetzteltes with homemade spaetzle or spinach dumplings with riccotta and tomato sauce - wonderful. Prices quite normal. Very pleasant service. When I'm in Trier again - my first choice.

The first time we didn't make a reservation but thanks to the friendly waitress we got a table. We will definitely come back here the next time we visit Trier. Highly recommended. The best German food I have eaten ... great service, perfect location ... I'm still trying to replicate what I ate at home. I'm told it can get really busy, reservations recommended. The waitress was lovely and tried to accommodate our attempts at speaking the German which we had learned 40 odd years ago. Thoroughly recommended. I think our dish was called Lieblingstellar (something like that) which they said was their best pork dish.

Das Intérieur einladend und das Essen sehr gut - unsere Bedienung hingegen leider unfreundlich, genervt und auf Nachfrage sogar etwas unverschämt. Wir haben ca. 45min auf unser Essen gewartet, nachfolgende Gäste erhielten ihre Bestellung noch vor uns. Selbst bei Hochbetrieb sollte der Gast nicht den Frust der Bedienung kompensieren müssen.

Sehr Schönes Lokal mit Gerichten die man nicht überall bekommt! Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Wir hatten Züricher Geschnitztes und das Kotlett,einfach super. Nachspeise:Creme Brüle und selbstgemachtes Sorbee mmmh. Jederzeit gerne wieder.
