We were there with several people. The food was very good and tasty. Everything fresh. The house was full and therefore a bit loud at the beginning. The music was a bit loud and could have been a bit more varied. The service was very attentive and friendly.

The ambience, friendliness and service, atmosphere and quality of the food are as you would imagine in a brewery.

This aging brewery, if you look at it from the outside, is a cozy, clocky and rustic brewery inside. The staff was friendly, attentive and our 🐕 was taken care of first. I'm a bit sorry to deduct 1 star because of Tkschnitzel with ready-made breading. However, the champion and pepper sauce was amazing. The fries were on point and the salad was super fresh and delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to dine here if I'm in the area again.

The service is particularly noteworthy: the team is extremely friendly, attentive and always strives to ensure that guests have a pleasant experience. A small highlight is the original and humorous saying on the menu, which immediately puts a smile on your face and shows that attention is paid to details. To eat, the salad was really excellent - fresh, crunchy and with a perfectly balanced dressing that underlined the taste wonderfully. The schnitzel, on the other hand, unfortunately couldn't quite maintain this positive impression. It was solid, but rather middle-of-the-road in terms of taste and didn't set any special accents compared to the rest of the offering. Despite this small flaw, the overall impression of the restaurant remains positive. The mix of great service, appealing atmosphere and some outstanding dishes definitely make it worth a visit. I can recommend it with a clear conscience - perhaps also to discover the rest of the menu, which certainly has further highlights.

The quality of the food used to be much better. Overall, the food was relatively tasteless, but the salad dressing was artificially over-seasoned. The champion cream sauce was soggy with little flavor and kick and canned champions were used. We've definitely eaten much better there.

We ate here on Boxing Day, had also made a reservation, but found a menu that we didn't quite like, the prices were raised quite a bit, which we were very surprised about, but the food was still good as always!

Brewery with a “special” concept On the menu you will find, among other things, mussels, snails, tarte flambée and that Brauhausschnitzel. The latter will appeal to anyone who likes large portions (probably pre-breaded) in the deep fryer prepared pork with a wonderful ready-made sauce. Unfortunately it wasn't my case because the chef didn't see any added value in it. The salad was good. We had to sit at the counter even though an hour later many tables were still unoccupied (perhaps a tour group's bus was late). For me there are better alternatives in Trier.

Rustic-looking gastronomy, with very tasty dishes and countless, attentive waitresses. Whatever could no longer be eaten was packed up and we were able to take it with us.

Service was on point and friendly. Everything clean and tastefully decorated. Luckily we got a table without making a reservation. The food was good except for the fries. Salted too lightly (but there is a salt shaker on the table). The herb butter and the lard (bread as a starter) also lacked a certain oomph. Still recommended.

Charming Belgian/French. Brasserie/German brewery/dining room crossover with eye-pleasing lighting design and a very attentive service team as well as a diverse menu. From fine Catalan tapas to herby snail pans and spicy mussels cooked in a cream-mustard-white wine root vegetable stock to hearty schnitzel and cordon bleu plates, a gastronomy that represents the border triangle and beyond has really been achieved that you cannot find in this dreary corner of Trier find suspected. The light lager is also a light, sparkling delight and rewards you for the trip beyond the tourist mile between the Porta and the basilica. I'm already looking forward to my next stop there!

We were in Trier for 4 days and had dinner 4 times. We were never disappointed and we were also pleasantly surprised at the Altes Brauhaus. Even though the place was completely full, we were served quickly and friendly. The service as well as the quality and quantity of the food left nothing to be desired. The price-performance ratio is good there.

Difficult... ordered a table for 2 people... since all (!) tables were free (5 p.m.), we sat down at a table for 4... then the waitress shouted in a loud voice from the restaurant outside: "Table of 2... not table of 4... so two, not four..." now it will be difficult to find it hospitable when you have just arrived... no problem if someone comes and tells you that the table cannot be occupied... It's good that my wife quickly gave a level-headed but also clear answer... I would have chosen a different choice of words and would have preferred to drive straight back... we don't want to be like that stupid "supplicants" feel when we want to leave our money there... Starter bread basket (very tasty, fresh bread) with dip, lard and herb butter... Unfortunately, herb butter came out of the fridge and "shredded" the great bread.. . but ok... you can wait until the butter has softened and you don't have to make loops... Main course cordon bleu and fish and chips... both very tasty... service at the table was also very friendly and nice ... that ripped out the number, otherwise we would have been annoyed that we had spent around 70 euros... but there is still a bad aftertaste... It's a shame, because we had better memories of the location in the past.. .

Wonderful mussels a la provencale!!! Please never make the brew any other way... Really perfect! The steak was also excellent. Cooked exactly as desired with a perfect crust. Service friendly, competent and quick. Always happy to come back!

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, unfortunately we didn't get to eat, we waited 35 minutes alone until we were asked for drinks and then another 15 minutes until we received our drinks, so our hunger went away.

Restaurant just half full. 3 service staff. Waited over 35 minutes for the drink order to be taken. Drinks came. A drink wrong is a non-carbonated cola. Simply cheeky.

Can't say anything about the food. It didn't come to that. After 45 minutes we hadn't ordered anything to drink or eat. It started when a waitress sat us at another table for which she was no longer responsible. Apparently she didn't feel like going that evening anymore. You don't know. Absolutely overwhelmed and the store wasn't even full! I cannot recommend the restaurant nor will I ever visit it again.

We went there spontaneously on a Wednesday evening without a reservation and got a nice table on the outside terrace without any problems. There is a daily menu with some extras, but also a menu with great down-to-earth dishes. I had a pale cellar beer, which is highly recommended, and my husband had a Riesling. At first we couldn't decide what to eat because there was such a great selection. We decided on bread with greaves to start with, I had fish and chips and my husband had the schnitzel in black beer sauce. The quantities were large and it was very tasty. The service was friendly, competent and always available. Price/performance completely justified. We paid €53 for 3 drinks, the 2 main courses and the starter. Completely fine, in our opinion. We'd love to come back on Friday, but this time with a reservation. Then there are sardines for me and half a chicken for my husband. It really looked very good at the table next door. Also worth mentioning is the extraordinary side salad, the likes of which we have never had anywhere else. We also leave out the starter on Friday, maybe. Then dessert is fine. 😁Great gastronomy with a wonderful flair. If we're in Trier again, we'll definitely be happy to come back. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Found this great restaurant thanks to Google. We had bread with greaves, a brewery schnitzel and fish and chips. Great taste and plentiful. The side dish was great and unique for us in this size and also in terms of the dressing. All products freshly prepared. A great Riesling wine and a delicious cellar beer. The service was very friendly and always present. A great restaurant with a unique beer garden atmosphere. We would love to come back on Friday and are already looking forward to it. Parking is possible in front of the restaurant.

During our two-day stay in Trier, we were looking for a nice restaurant with a beer garden for the evening and found the Altes Brauhaus. We chose the “Schnitzel in pepper sauce” and the “Brauhausschnitzel in black beer sauce”. The food was very good. The service staff were always friendly, polite and with a smile on their faces. The beer garden completes the great ambience in this restaurant. We liked it so much that after eating we booked a table for the following day. A reservation makes sense as the restaurant is very busy. The portions are decent and the price-performance ratio is very good.

Beautifully designed restaurant inside and out. Our service was very attentive and friendly. On the other hand, another older lady rudely brought us the salads and hung her stomach almost in my face. A bit too pushy and rough for me. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as expected! Fries were way too dry and served without sauce or anything. Unfortunately the meat was very tough, it took a long time to chew, and the high price wasn't justified! All in all, ok for a little something or something to drink but not more than a main dinner. Dear guests of the old brewery in Trier Hl. Kreuz, About three years ago I ordered a simple schnitzel with fries and salad in this restaurant, which had a great atmosphere. What I got was this: A schnitzel, similar in taste to breaded cardboard, Fries fried in probably old or stored fat, Salad drenched in a third rate bucket salad dressing. I let the food go back. Today (July 21, 2024) I was persuaded by some friends to go there again to have dinner. I ordered cordon bleu with fried potatoes. Price €24.90 So far so good! What I got was this: A Cordon Bleu made from ONE schnitzel rolled up like a roulade, a very small, darkly fried portion of fried potatoes (rather burnt) Salad in the same sauce as three years ago. Of course I let the food go back. I'm now approaching 60 and have eaten in almost every restaurant in Trier, but never as bad as in the old Brauhaus zu Hl. Kreuz. I can only advise you to invest your money in restaurants that deserve this name. If it were possible, I wouldn't give a star.🤷 Greetings to everyone who has taste!

Good address, delicious salad, reservation recommended. Delicious fried potatoes. 2nd visit: Had a very good meal again. Super friendly service. What I really like: mayonnaise and ketchup not in tiny 20g packages, which are often outrageously expensive, but in bottles. Definitely 4.5 stars from us and definitely a very good address for a home-style meal. 3rd visit: Fries were all very small, €1.80 per piece (after we complained, two extra fries were brought to us free of charge), much too well-done and dry. Still very good salad and good fries. Friendly service.

We had a company party in the Altes Brauhaus and I was thrilled. The ambience is right, the service is attentive and very friendly. The grill and starter buffet was excellent and extremely diverse. Everyone could find something tasty there.

Found it via Google after our stroll through Luxembourg with 4 friends. Everyone ate the delicious Brauhaus Schnitzel with fries and salad. Nice service, highly recommended. We will definitely come back after the next stroll. 👍👍👍

Spontaneously went to the “Alten Brauhaus” on our bike tour! Upon request for dinner for 6 people, a very friendly and nice place to eat was offered! The subsequent service was great!!! The food (2 schnitzels) plus fries and a salad plate was tasty and extensive 😋! Price - performance 5 out of 5 stars!

Today we went to the alteQuer Brauhaus for the first time, on the recommendation of the receptionist at our Hotel Vienna House. The restaurant is about a 7-minute walk from the hotel. The food was great, the selection of food is very good. Not just brewery classics, but also a cross-section of fish dishes. The quality was top and the fact that the restaurant is also visited by many locals speaks for itself.

As a former “Hl. Kreuzer” I have been visiting the old brewery for a long time! Unfortunately there isn't much left of the comfort. We sat in the beer garden, which is now so full that it is very loud and cramped. We were there on a weekday with 6 people for dinner at 6 p.m. The service was very friendly, quick and had an incredibly good memory of our orders. My partner and I shared a starter. Catalan bread with tomato, olive oil, garlic, sardines and anchovies (bread soggy, the rest okay?) Main course, fried chicken with fries: chicken pale and unseasoned. My goat cheese salad collapsed like it had been waiting a whole day. Damn, old idiot! It's a shame, we had different memories of this restaurant.

When we had eaten here ( 4 / 4.5 Yr ago) it was very busy in seating and in bar area. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Food was also delicious .

Went there spontaneously during the week. The service staff is incredibly nice and attentive. The drinks and food came to the table quickly. Even at the neighboring table with seven people, things went really quickly and everyone had their food together. Gladly again.

Unfortunately I cannot agree with the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, the Brauhausschnitzel tasted like Maggigewürz. The bacon on the fried potatoes was half raw. The cleanliness of the outside area left much to be desired. On top of that, we had a table in the passage area that changed like this when someone walked past us (approx. 2 times per minute). This was probably due to the temporary camping floor. The restaurant also has nothing in common with a brewery. There is no selection of local beers, which is what I would expect at a brewery. It's a shame, but I can't put it more positively.

I was at the pub about a week ago with some very good friends and we all had a very good evening! Ambiance: Really harmonious! The interior is not rustic and outdated like most breweries, but rather modern without losing the charm and character of a brewery. There are no kettles in the house, but the beer (mainly if not exclusively Karlsberg) is delicious and the selection of drinks is huge! In addition to the stylish interior, there is also the option of going out the back. I think the terrace is exciting, especially in summer. Food: also varied and more imaginative than the classic brewery food a la SchniPo. Good home-style cuisine with a touch of sophistication is served. Had escargots as a starter and spinach dumplings as a main course and was very pleasantly surprised. Service: Was very good and confident despite "Full House". Tip: I strongly recommend making reservations! Great restaurant and great location 👍🏻

The schnitzel was completely wrong, 0.04 mm thick plus thick marinade can only be fried dry (deep frying) It was dressed with an Altbier sauce and cured bacon and that everything tasted just like bacon, plus the fried potatoes were also dressed with a lot of bacon. For me it was the first and at the same time the last visit.

Etwas abseits vom Stadtzentrum in Heiligkreuz gelegen. Der ehemalige Brauereiausschank der Caspary-Brauerei mit gemütlichem Innenraum und Biergarten bietet gut gemachte Speisen und natürlich frische Getränke, Schnitzel kommt ganz klassisch doppelt und die Bratkartoffeln sind richtig gut. Gerne wieder.

Excellent service and great food

The two of us were there on a Sunday. It was our first visit and won't be the last. From the telephone reservation to the farewell, it was a completely successful affair. We were able to get one of the few parking spaces right in front of the door, but the next larger parking lot wouldn't have been far away. The house is quite inconspicuous from the outside, but when we entered we were a bit surprised by the size and furnishings. The food was great and arrived quickly despite being busy, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Only our spot near the door was a bit drafty. We are already looking forward to our next visit here.

We stopped there at short notice and were treated very nicely without a reservation. The food there was very good. Even later at the counter it was very cozy.

Can't understand the good reviews. Schnitzel and dumplings were definitely not homemade, the sauce tasted the same too. At such expensive prices, I expect a lot more. It would have been okay for less money, but for example 17 euros for spinach dumplings that are not properly prepared and potentially packaged are just not possible.

Wir hatten 8 verschiedene Gerichte, teilweise sehr schlecht und extrem teuer. Es war so laut, dass man sein eigenes Wort nicht verstand. Das extrem schlechte Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis wurde noch dadurch übertroffen, dass alle Gäste nicht am Tisch abkassiert wurden, sondern an der Kasse antreten mussten. Das ist auch nicht mit einer höheren MwSt. in der,Gastronomie zu rechtfertigen ..

Von außen etwas unscheinbar, innen aber urgemütlich. Sehr nette Bedienung die alles im Blick hatte. Essen ausgezeichnet. Absolute Empfehlung. Hier macht man nichts falsch. Am besten aber vorher reservieren, es war richtig voll.

Absolut klasse und hochwertige Speisen in einer super Atmosphäre. Da wir noch unter 80 Jahren sind, finden wir die zahlreichen Hochtische mit Barhockern natürlich besonders klasse. Das und die Nähe zur Theke bietet eine coole Atmosphäre. Das Tartar ist übrigens absolut klasse und die mitgelieferte Gewürzpalette enthält alles was man als Gourmet braucht. Und falls was fehlt, wird es umgehend nachgeliefert. - Absolut klasse!

Schöne Einrichtung, freundliche Mitarbeitende, aber das Essen war nicht unser Geschmack. Der Rotkohl war gewöhnungsbedürftig, der Salat viel zu sauer. Bei den vegetarischen Knödeln zählt mehr Masse als Klasse.

Tolles Brauhaus mit schönem Ambiente, sehr leckerem Bier und super Speisen. Nettes Personal, wir kommen wieder.

Die Bedienung war durchweg freundlich und Aufmerksam, dabei aber nicht aufdringlich. Das empfand ich als sehr angenehm. Die Hauptspeise und auch das Dessert haben mir sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Ambiente macht auf mich einen gemütlichen und einladenden Eindruck. Lediglich die Lautstärke der vielen Gäste wurde gegen späteren Abend etwas unangenehm. Was aber bei so vollem Haus völlig normal ist. Und irgendwo ja auch erfreulich wenn sich alle so wohl fühlen. Dankeschön an das ganze Team für einen wirklich schönen Abend.
