We received very friendly service and advice. The food was freshly cooked and tasted excellent! Highly recommended! Reasonable prices.

Four of us went out to eat during our vacation. The service was okay, the ambiance was clean and OK. The food was nothing. The extra light cream sauce was the all-purpose dish (with or without mushrooms) for everyone to eat. It was lukewarm and simply not good.

We've been there several times – from just the two of us to larger groups. Absolutely recommend it! The service is very friendly, authentic, and tries to fulfill all special requests. The cuisine is truly well-crafted; you can tell the chefs have learned and mastered their craft. The interior is truly tastefully modern, yet traditional, and blends in perfectly with the surroundings.

Unfortunately, the service was very overwhelmed and didn't give the most professional impression. I had to wait a long time to even be served, even though there were only six tables! After I ordered my drink, it took another 10 minutes before I got a menu in my hand. The menu was straightforward and not too demanding. The food actually arrived quite quickly, but my request to swap the vegetables for a different side dish was unfortunately ignored! So I ended up having both sides, even though I had specifically mentioned an intolerance of mine! The meal itself was beautifully presented and made a good overall impression! The taste, however, left something to be desired; it was rather blandly seasoned and overall not as warm as I would expect from a main course! In my opinion, a good restaurant with a fantastic location, but unfortunately, there are too many shortcomings overall to earn a better rating!

We came at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. We quickly got our drinks. The staff came in and asked everyone who hadn't had their food. If it was the 2 plates of food that some had ordered. We hadn't ordered anything new at all. We had to wait over 60 minutes before we could order our food. And that's only because another table had to wait longer. When they ordered. They had to tell the staff. That we were also waiting to order. When the food came in. It looked boring. The schnitzel tasted strange. Doesn't look like something they had made themselves. The mushroom sauce tasted like powdered sauce. And the fries are boat potatoes. It's a boring experience. My wife's salmon with salad. The salmon is ok. The salad has fruit. Strange. When the bill came. Is there a drink missing from the bill. He wrote on it with a ballpoint pen. He got black money there. We spoke to another married couple. They were there 4 days ago. They had the same experience as us.

We were only in Reit im Winkel for a few days, but we ate at the Auszeit every evening. Every meal was delicious, the host very friendly, and the whole atmosphere was welcoming. Many guests know this, so make a reservation!

We ordered the Alpine schnitzel and the Mountaineer's schnitzel. The cheese on the baked Alpine schnitzel was dry and almost burnt; we complained and received a new one. The fries were very thick and very salty...it's a matter of taste. The staff seemed very tense, and they didn't particularly respond to criticism. This schnitzel has been a hit for 30 years and receives only praise from guests. The Mountaineer's schnitzel wasn't a hit either. We often ate at this restaurant on our vacation 3 or 4 years ago, and it was much better. We told the lady so, and she replied that they should have had more staff... In the Rhineland, the schnitzels are better at almost every chip shop.

Red wine jus WITHOUT red wine☹️ A culinary disappointment, unfortunately. First, the good: The staff is friendly and the ambiance is really nice. Not ideal if you want to sit separately, but the large, open dining room is lovingly decorated and cozy. But the food🙆‍♂️ I had a bad feeling when the drinks arrived; one of them had two pieces of watermelon stuck to it that tasted of onions. It's a shame the kitchen doesn't have two knives for preparing them. I had the beef cheeks in a red wine jus and dumplings. The dumplings (unfortunately a ready-made product) weren't boiled in salt water, a terrible taste experience, especially since there wasn't even salt and pepper on the table. The "red wine jus" unfortunately didn't have any red wine (you didn't even need to taste it; the color of the sauce would have given that away), nor any salt, pepper, allspice, juniper, bay leaves, or anything similar. This, too, was more of an instant product from a wholesaler. The meat was tender! But here, too, the seasoning was nonexistent. This was cafeteria fare at its lowest level. We then had the dumpling trio and the salmon noodles, which were a step better in terms of taste, but also far from homemade and delicious. The fourth meal wasn't from the menu but a daily special. My wife had the meatloaf with spaetzle and mushrooms, and I have to say, it was good. The roast wasn't a ready-made product and was well seasoned. Sure, the spaetzle and the creamed mushrooms were also bought in, but I can live with that. Personally, I would even give the meatloaf 4/5 stars. Conclusion: I would advise against ordering items from the menu; the daily specials are okay.

At 8:15 p.m. on a Friday evening, we were no longer welcome. At first, we were ignored for a while, while the family sitting opposite received very, very friendly service. When the unfriendly waitress with short hair came over to us, we asked if we could have something else to eat. Reluctantly, she agreed. We only ordered one drink each and the same meal so as not to cause any inconvenience. The waiter was also slightly annoyed when bringing the drinks. Then he left his tray on our table for a while to clear other tables. As the server was clearing a stack of seat cushions, someone came very close to our table. Luckily, nothing was knocked over. We had to search for the gravy on our farmer's schnitzel. The people became friendlier when we paid. We didn't stay long in this restaurant. The ambience on the terrace was very nice, though. Friendliness can be better. I myself work part-time as a waiter in a 5-star restaurant.

We wanted to eat at the Auszeit restaurant. I went there the day before specifically to ask about a reservation on the terrace. The lady (presumably the owner) said they didn't reserve tables outside, so we took a chance. Suddenly, the tables on the terrace had signs saying that tables were reserved. After waiting about five minutes to ask which table we could take, and the lady walked past us four times, I spoke to her directly. There were two of us with a stroller and a dog, and we could have gotten a table by the entrance for two people. The stroller would have been in the way, or it would have been impossible to park it anywhere near the table. Very unfriendly "allocation" and therefore not worth a visit. It's a shame, the restaurant is very attractively designed.

We discovered "Auszeit" by chance and were very pleased with the food and service. The owner also likes to joke around and join in the fun. The value for money is excellent. We will definitely eat there again on our next vacation.

We ate here twice during our vacation because the food was simply delicious. Whether it was the owner or his daughter serving, they enjoyed their work and enjoyed joking with the guests. The value for money was completely acceptable. My wife, my mother-in-law, and I highly recommend it.

The staff was friendly, especially the slightly older waiter, who had a relaxed demeanor. The spare ribs were delicious. Tender and easy to pull off the bone.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding at the Auszeit restaurant last summer. The owner, Mr. Müller, made every possible arrangement for us – from the wedding cake to the opening hours to the partially vegan menu (and all this in the heart of Bavaria). Mr. Müller supported us in the run-up to the wedding, and his years of experience and expertise were invaluable. He took an enormous amount of time for phone calls and correspondence – thank you again for that! The entire team made a very positive impression on us and our guests; our wedding day was wonderful.

Unfortunately not recommended!! The South Tyrolean alpine schnitzel, topped with bacon and cheese, was more than disappointing. The schnitzel was very thin, but had a lot of breading and was very dry. The bacon (1 slice) was carelessly hidden under the little cheese. The side salad consisted of 4 lettuce leaves, 3 thin cucumber slices, 1/2 thin tomato slice, 1 radish slice and a little carrot mix from the packet. There was no salad dressing. The hosts didn't even ask if everything was OK when clearing away. After paying, we expressed our dissatisfaction and were then rudely dismissed and ignored by the clearly overwhelmed host. Conclusion: Price-performance ratio is not right. Friendliness can be improved. I would not recommend it.

Disappointing – Not good value for money The Alpine schnitzel was extremely thin, the bacon consisted of half a slice – that has nothing to do with a baked schnitzel. I have a different idea of ​​what bacon means. The side salad for €4.20 was far too expensive, far too small, and presented with absolutely no love. Overall, the dish was nowhere near worth the price. No one asked if it tasted good, no response to any criticism – the staff seemed unfriendly and annoyed. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

Great restaurant! Personal highlight: the Kaiserschmarrn. The owner serves personally and with heart and soul. Although Kaiserschmarrn wasn't on the menu at the time, it was prepared for us upon request and was delicious. We also had farmer's schnitzel and a trio of dumplings, all very delicious.

I found the food outstanding. Very attentive staff. Beautifully decorated restaurant. Reasonably priced for a typical holiday region.

We were probably there at the wrong time of year. Fries very greasy and too brown. The fat in which the fries were fried was past its prime!🤷‍♂️ I can do a better job of gratinating schnitzel at home. It's a shame, very nicely decorated shop. The service person's extremely open and direct approach to my wife was inappropriate.

We've known about the break for a long time and have been there for dinner on holiday over the last few years. But now in autumn (2024) we were there for the last time. The landlord has added a good 22% to the price, saved on the side salad and the portions have become smaller, and the selection of dishes has also been drastically reduced. Sorry, but there are now better restaurants in Reit im Winkl. It's a shame, the break used to be a really good eatery and our favorite in town, but that's over now.

We waited a long time for the food (be careful: there was little choice) and received very small portions. It was good, but we weren't full. The value for money was poor.

The service was very attentive and friendly. We had a reservation, and the restaurant was quite busy. There was a special Christmas menu with dishes like chestnut soup and duck with red cabbage and potato dumplings. We had delicious cheese spaetzle with a side salad, the children's portion of spaetzle with a somewhat tasteless gravy, and for dessert, a chocolate cake with a liquid center, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. Ciabatta with aioli cream was offered as an appetizer. The ciabatta appeared to be out of bread, so we were given a warmed-up baguette instead without comment. The portion size was sufficient, though not generous. Overall, it tasted quite good, and we were satisfied. Small special requests were accommodated.

Top! Schnitzel “Gipfelkreuz” was super delicious! Perfect fries on the side + ketchup/mayo included. Despite the full house, the service was top notch.

Rundum zufrieden, ich habe ein Restaurant mit guten Bewertungen gesucht und hübscher Einrichtung. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Begrüßung war sehr herzlich. Der Herr ( Jürgen) wo uns bedient war wirklich sehr sympathisch. Das Essen, Burger und Cordon Bleu schmeckte auch sehr gut , sowie der Kaiserschmarren danach . Die Einrichtung war mit viel Holz dennoch modern und äußerst gemütlich. Wir kommen beim nächsten Urlaub , wieder .

The ambience is very nice and inviting. That was also the reason for visiting the restaurant. We had reserved. When we came to the restaurant we stood in the dining room for 5 minutes until we were assigned the reserved table. The table was not set and cleared. After about 15 minutes the menu was brought to us, the drinks were picked up and the table was cleared. When the main course was brought after about 30 minutes there was still no cutlery there. Cutlery was only brought when we pointed it out. The innkeepers (probably not Bavarians) are very friendly and helpful but completely overwhelmed and definitely not from the industry. It all seems very chaotic and not very organized. With only 3 people in service (landlords and one other person) and the restaurant not being very small, that can't be a problem. We ordered apple juice spritzer, water, beer and 3 times of flatbread soup, Kässpätzle with salad, Auszeit burger with fries and Bauer schnitzel and fries. Beer and water were ok. Apple juice consisted of mineral water with a very small splash of apple juice. The food was also below average. The soup was served in a large bowl with little content. Tastes good, but not enough for the price. The burger tasted like a ready meal (patty from the freezer). The Kässpätzle were few but ok. The salad served consisted of 5 to 6 leaves of iceberg lettuce, 3 slices of cucumber and a small chopped tomato. As a dressing there were a few drops on the top lettuce leaf. The farmer's schnitzel consisted of an ordinary breaded schnitzel with a fried egg, although the taste of the meat could have been from the chip shop around the corner. Fries were good. Conclusion: good atmosphere. Food and service below average.

This restaurant is definitely a recommendation in Reit am Winkl. The service was nice and courteous. The outdoor ambience is bright and relaxing. Parking spaces are rare, so you should plan to walk a few meters. There are no playgrounds or anything similar for the children here. Surprising: ketchup and mayonnaise are charged extra. Fries, etc. are served without K and M.

In June I visited Reit im Winkl one day and spontaneously decided to eat at Café Auszeit. Delicious food, nice ambience and nice service.

The worst Kaiserschmarrn ever. Thin dry egg tart pushed together. A small bowl of applesauce was charged an additional €1. Never again.

We chose this restaurant because the Kaiserschmarn there was supposed to be good (according to other reviews) and unfortunately we were very disappointed. It wasn't fluffy at all, just hard and dry. They also charge €1 for more applesauce, which I find a disgrace. The pancake soup wasn't good either. There are many other restaurants in Reit im Winkl that you should visit instead.

This was the second time we had dinner in this restaurant and the first impression was confirmed again. You didn't feel well. We had reserved a table in advance to be sure we could eat there. When we arrived there, we were warmly welcomed by a gentleman and escorted to our table. Apparently there are 2.5 people serving there. A gentleman, a lady and at times the chef it seems. The food is tasty and freshly prepared, but the portions are so small that they don't justify the price in any way! The lady of the house is very pushy and probably used to be a salesman, because she tries very pushily to get dessert etc. to the man or rather to the child by trying to make all types of ice cream palatable to the children, which brings us back to that would be a topic of discomfort. If you like it, you're welcome, but we won't be eating here anymore.

Sweaty and dirty, 6 starving cyclists stumble into the crowded restaurant without a reservation. The funny and friendly waiter organizes a nice place for us where we can all sit together. Then the food: top cuisine, 7 out of 5 stars. Best cheese spaetzle ever, tagliatelle with salmon was super delicious, the schnitzel was a real treat! At the end we had the Kaiserschmarrn - a dream! Everything is freshly prepared and you can taste it. The prices are cheap for the quality and service. The restaurant and even the path to the toilet is an attractive mix of old building and modern ambience. When we are back in Reit im Winkl, we will definitely stop here again :)

Ein zentral im Ortskern gelegenes Lokal. Der Service ist durchschnittlich zu sehen. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis eher unterdurchschnittlich. Mein Essen, ein Salatteller mit Hähnchenbrust stellte sich als sehr übersichtlich dar. Er bestand aus einigen (zum Teil schon braunen) Salatblättern, Möhrensalat aus dem Supermarkt, etwas Hähnchenfleisch in reichlicher Panade und einer halben überreifen Tomate. Das ganze dann mit Balsamicosoße getränkt. Als FüllstoffEntg noch 3 Scheiben Stangenbrot. Für den angebotenen Preis schon sehr fragwürdig.

Pleasant atmosphere, friendly and delicious food

Since it opened, we have been visiting the break at least 3-4 times a year! The service during the break is friendly, attentive and quick to serve the guest. The food (and we have tried everything over the years) is of good quality and very tasty👍🏻 Just today my wife and I ate a burger each and even with such a "normal" dish, we were completely thrilled! Be sure to try one of the delicious fires after your meal 😉 We have been coming for years, will continue to do so and would highly recommend the time out👍🏻

Unfortunately the service staff were a little overwhelmed. The order had to be reminded several times, but it was a little too expensive, and unfortunately only one double page could be ordered on the menu. Basically it's definitely okay, but unfortunately not really convincing on this evening.

The children (7 and 10) wanted to go out for a nice meal. We chose this restaurant because dogs were also welcome there. The atmosphere is really very cozy, the staff really do their best, but unfortunately we were a bit unlucky. Because we had to wait 20 minutes before we even ordered drinks and got a menu and then we had to wait another hour for our food. And we were there shortly after 7:00 p.m. and were then told that they might not have been allowed to accept any more customers. I don't think that's normal for a restaurant that's open until 10 p.m. and we were very disappointed. But I think that's not the rule and we were just unlucky. Nevertheless, I probably won't be able to persuade my children to eat there again and I don't know whether I would like to again. 🫣 But the dishes were really delicious and you could tell that everything was freshly prepared there.

Went to Reit im Winkl for 10 days and visited several restaurants during the break. By far the food was bad.

Three friends from Berlin and the two of us from Bremen went out to eat several times during our break two weeks ago. The innkeeper is great and fulfilled all of our wishes. The food was very good. The menu offered something for every taste. If we travel to Reit im Winkel again, we will definitely come here again!
