We stopped here during a visit to Reit im Winkl. The friendly waiter apologized for any wait that might occur, as he was temporarily alone in the restaurant. Everything was fine 😉 we're on vacation 👍 For dinner, we had Leberkäse (meatloaf) with potato salad and three kinds of dumplings with sauerkraut, along with two light beers 🍻 It was delicious 😋 and inexpensive. We'd be happy to come back.

We stopped by here twice for a few beers. The service was prompt and very friendly. The prices are reasonable for the region.

The ambiance is nice, but unfortunately, that's about it. The menu is very promising, but most of the food isn't available. They then display a notice board and don't wait to order. Long wait times and unmotivated service, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Always good for a nightcap, drink selection okay

I ordered spinach dumplings. I've never had such a bad meal. Very dry, and then more salad on the same plate than spinach dumplings. And I paid €13.50 for it. Simply a tourist rip-off. A real shame. And the staff were unfriendly too.

Here, you can sit comfortably and enjoy a variety of local dishes. Dogs are also welcome.

No card payments! And they sell hot chocolate with a shot called "Lumumba," which is a racist term for the drink, as Lumumba was a Congolese politician who was executed. The drinks and food are good.

Very cool place, nice, quaint, cozy, great service, friendly staff, and a very good menu with drinks, dairy products, ice cream, and small dishes. They even had Harry Potter Butterbeer, which I also found very tasty. Not for calorie counters, but simply really good.

Sticky and dirty tables. The terrace was so crowded that chairs were constantly in the way. The Romanian waiter thought every man wanted a beer and practically forced it on you. He also yelled at every "regular" who walked past outside. The white sausage was cold, the pretzel dry and soggy. The drinks and shakes were okay and reasonably priced. I wouldn't recommend them.

Not great service. Furthermore, the milkshakes are unfortunately not made with fresh fruit, but with powder. The milkshakes taste "artificial."

In short: Long wait times, both for ordering and paying - unmotivated staff/waiters. We had currywurst with fries 🍟 and spinach dumplings. Both were subpar in taste - Augustiner beers on tap, but that's about it. We wouldn't come back and wouldn't recommend a visit. No card payments accepted...it would be nice if we were informed of this beforehand!

Fun location, friendly service. The food was good. I had goulash soup – super delicious, not canned! Unfortunately, it came with bread from the supermarket. I would have preferred some from the local bakery. My husband had the currywurst with fries. The sausage and gravy were very good. Unfortunately, the fries were fried twice, so they were extremely greasy. All in all, though, it was perfectly fine, and the price/performance ratio was right.

I ordered drinks, which took 15 minutes to finally arrive. I immediately ordered food, and after waiting over an hour, only one dish was brought. The others had to wait a little longer... Definitely not recommended! Unless you have plenty of time to wait. It might be due to staff shortages, but it's not pleasant to wait an hour and a half for a dish.

A very popular, lovely restaurant in Reit im Winkl. Great, friendly service. A great atmosphere. Light meals served on-site. And a wide selection of drinks. Great cocktails.

Cozy little pub right on the village square. In addition to a good selection of local beers, there is also a good selection of cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. A small menu with savory and sweet options rounds it all out. The service is excellent, and even when things get hectic, they're still friendly and up for a joke. Ideal for a nightcap after a walk or simply to wind down the day/evening.

The waitress seemed very overwhelmed, and the swimming pool I ordered was completely undrinkable. It was far too strong and half the ingredients were missing. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back.

Basically solid for a short break. We came primarily for the Kaiserschmarrn, which was unfortunately sold out. The (vegetarian) snack we ordered was unfortunately poorly prepared and lacked any "decoration" in the form of tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. Besides the three slices of bread, we only got a little Obazda (traditional Austrian sausage) and a few slices of cheap cheese. Therefore, the price/performance ratio was rather disappointing.

Ich hatte einen Aperol Sprizz der nur aus Eiswürfeln bestand! Und dann wurde mir ein Wein serviert, der - laut dem Namen der mir genannt wurde nicht in der Karten stand, aber doch der teuerste war: zehn Euro für einen schoppen. Ich habe den Eindruck gewonnen, dass es hier nur um das schnelle Geld geht. Nicht darum, sich Stammgäste zu etablieren.

Very cozy with lots of details about the music

Yes, yes, the milk bar... Tight, loud, idiosyncratic, certainly not perfect and not cheap either. This is how you can see it. Or like me: communicative, open-hearted, charming and, thank God, not everyone's favorite. During the IBU World Cup week in January, she was regularly our first port of call in the evenings, on the second day the “milker” behind the counter still knew our order from the first and on the third day the opener drinks were on the table more or less unasked after entering the entrance door. But it is also clear that nouvelle cuisine has no priority here and that strangers with the somewhat rough wit of the staff are less conducive to one's own mood. There is strength in calm, it would probably do it quite well. In any case, we all really enjoyed the days in the milk bar and can only recommend boarding the room for the more robust natures.

Because another restaurant was too fancy for us, we ended up here. The waiter was nice and friendly, the toilets are clean. The furnishings are stylish and rustic. The food was OK. We've definitely eaten better Kaiserschmarrn and dumplings. All in all, a small, cute restaurant with mediocre food.

Rustic atmosphere, anyone who has a hedgehog in their pocket should come to Reit for over 60 years It's better to stay at home. If the bill is rounded up by 20 cents, I would as Waiters don't jump in the air either. Have a nice holiday!

The atmosphere is nice and the place seems to have a long history. But the name “Milkbar” should definitely be changed… The “milk shakes” were an absolute disgrace. 0 taste, just perfectly normal (and therefore completely overpriced) milk with a “hint” of taste that, with a lot of imagination, corresponded to what was on the menu. Not recommended.

A visit is a must on every vacation. Very good Kaiserschmarrn.

We cannot understand the extremely bad reviews. Sure, we had to wait longer for the waiter, but the place was also packed. Food selection is limited, but you go here primarily for a beer. We felt comfortable here and were served in a friendly manner.

No words...as a "regular" for four days in a row...being chased from the table and having a chair slammed into the back of my knee is the lowest of the low. The waiters do a great job, but the owner should probably stay out of the business...13 years or not, the reviews speak for themselves. I've never experienced anything like this before, and it's not necessary. I'm now eagerly awaiting a negative reaction from the owner. We won't be seeing each other again anyway...the matter is settled!!!!

This restaurant apparently has a long history - at least that's how I would judge the guest souvenirs on the wall. At the same time, however, it gives the impression that it has had its best years behind it, because overall everything seems a bit very old and dusty. So much for the setup. The menu: if you have crossed out a good half of the dishes, then you could think about perhaps replacing the menu with a new version. But this is how the card fits the furnishings. Service and especially the food were subpar. One of the dishes we ordered ("spinach dumplings in melted butter and with onions" - that's the text on the menu) arrived after about an hour - even though there was hardly anything going on in the restaurant - and the few guests didn't have any food, just drinks. Nothing came from the kitchen. The spinach dumplings were probably warmed in the microwave or in an oven. Unfortunately they didn't come fresh from the dumpling water; they were far too dry and partly dried out and hard. Onions were on the plate as stated. Melted butter - none. Instead, there was half a plate of salad - which wasn't on the menu - but lay there without any dressing. This dish was on the table twice. Dry dumplings with salad without dressing. When asked whether one could have the melted butter that was on the menu, the cellar was more interested in discussing it than in getting the missing ingredient from the kitchen. In the end he was convinced. The decision to eat there again was completely made for you here. In summary: old restaurant, slow and poor food, overwhelmed staff. Definitely not a recommendation.

Vi besøgte stedet ifm et besøg i Reit im Winkl. Vi var sultne og fandt denne hyggelige restaurant/bar/bodega med udendørs servering. Vi bestilte en toast og en pølsesalat og en øl. På vanlig tysk maner var der rigelig mad - maden var OK og god når man tager i betragtning det er en bar. Der var en del kunder, så det gik lidt langtsomt - men vi var heldigvis på ferie. Vi sad udenfor og nød vejret, men der var meget hyggelig indenfor kunne vi se. Vi kan anbefale stedet.

It's an absolute disgrace how customers are treated here when the service staff is off work. The innkeeper doesn't feel like working himself and sends people away to avoid stress. You probably shouldn't be skimpy when it comes to paying employees and sometimes order the service staff for 1-2 hours longer. Unfortunately, this place has little competition at this time of day, which is why this place can still exist. I and those around me (many different individuals and groups) have never been treated worse. Stay away and stop supporting!

Beim Thomas in der Milchbar fühlen wir uns echt wohl.Wenn man Platz genommen hat,steht die Bedinung nicht sofort mit der Speisekarte da.Hier kann man sehr gut einkehren um nur was zu trinken.Hier gibt es hervorragendes Bier und alle Getränke sind sehr gepflegt und werden vonAufmerksamen Personal freundlich an den Tisch gebracht.

Rustic themed atmosphere with old photos etc, very cute. Service went like this. The young man was very nice but alone, so we had to order twice before we got something. We would have drunk more but unfortunately we couldn't order. Too bad. With more time and patience it might not matter so much. Food was delicious. Currywurst with fries. The sausage itself was really great, the tomato sauce was too spicy for me personally, but other guests seemed to like it very much. Conclusion: you should definitely visit and form your own opinion

The milk bar is the milk bar. Not much has changed here in the last 20 years. The furnishings are almost unchanged and represent a small journey through time. The food and drinks are good and delivered quickly. In the evening it is the only spot that is open longer and also attracts the appropriate crowd. The mix of guests is always fascinating. In any case worth a visit.

Never in my 61 years have I seen such an unfriendly innkeeper as this one, Thomas, this place is a disgrace in the middle of town.

If you are a tourist, you are going to find a place that only wants money 💰 but does not care about its clientele. Come with cash, they do not accept cards. THERE IS NO NOTICE THAT THEY DO NOT WANT TO CHARGE BY CARD. Owner, worry about the bathrooms, they are disgusting and smell like a cat alley!!!!

Wir wollten nach einem entspannten Einkaufsbummel noch etwas trinken und sind in der Milchbar eingekehrt. Um das Ortsgeschehen zu beobachten ist die Milchbar perfekt, da mittig im Ort gelegen. Auch einen Tisch zu bekommen war nicht schwer, aber dann wurde es unterirdisch. Bis man uns wahrgenommen hat sind mindestens 15 Minuten vergangen, als ich den Kellner angesprochen habe, bekam ich die Antwort „ Er könne sich nicht um alle Tische kümmern“. Dabei ging es nur um die Bestellung von zwei Bieren 🤷‍♂️. Eine Gruppe von 10 Leuten am Nebentisch die zur gleichen Zeit angekommen waren, wurden komplett ignoriert und sind ohne etwas bestellt zu haben, wieder gegangen. Hier scheint man es wohl nicht nötig zu haben und auf Tourinepp aus zu sein. Klares „no Go“ und nie wieder……

Inadequate service and disappointing hospitality… Unfortunately, the service did not in any way meet the expectations of Bavarian hospitality.🤷‍♂️🙄🙈 Furthermore, no card payment was offered, which in our opinion should have been communicated before the order was placed. This was not mentioned in the menu or in the service.🤷‍♂️ Issuing an entertainment receipt was also a huge burden for the staff. When we politely raised these points after paying, we were met with a harsh remark: “I don’t care anyway.” When we left we were insulted badly by the staff... 🤷‍♂️🙄 That's a shame, because the ambience and menu are quite appealing. Unfortunately, this has little to do with Bavarian hospitality…

When you get to the milk bar, it looks very nice. But be careful, you are not allowed to move a chair even though there is a free table. I don't recommend this place, I've rarely seen anything so unfriendly.

Great local top innkeeper Good service

We were there in the summer. The outside area was well attended and the inside area was hardly attended at all. When we arrived there was still a table available outside. Since there was a black slate board on the table and it could easily be confused with a reserved sign, I briefly asked inside if we could sit down there. The (presumed) innkeeper then replied in a very snotty and unfriendly manner with the words "Sit wherever you want. We're not in kindergarten here." Thanks, that was our last visit.

I cannot agree with the negative reviews. Been there several evenings (only to drink - I can't comment on the food). I was always served politely and quickly. Drinks came promptly. Nothing to complain about.

We had to wait forever for our drinks. When we expressed the desire to pay after a drink, we were made to sit for another 25 minutes until the waitress, annoyed, accepted our money. In addition, the tablecloths were completely dirty and smelled. Absolutely not recommended!

Service sollte man überarbeiten, sehr lange Wartezeit bis eine Bedienung erscheint und wenn man Kaiserschmarrn bestellen will, wird indirekt abgeraten, weil die Zubereitung zu lange dauert.

Very unfriendly, rude service, when I asked why it didn't say anywhere that you couldn't pay by card, the waiter left in a rage and referred to his boss. A little tip for the restaurant: be careful when choosing your waiters!

Always a must when you're there on vacation

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this location. I was there with two small children (4 and 9 years old) and were not served at all for 30 minutes. Although we have drawn attention to ourselves several times. Then I went in, politely asked to be served and was turned away with the words "It's not possible right now, I have to concentrate". Then he came out and went straight to all the other tables, except he didn't pay any attention to us. When the man at the next table pointed out that we wanted to be served in the first place, he received the answer "there are some people here waiting to be served". I fully understand that the gentleman was stressed, but I have never been treated like that in a restaurant. While we waited, guests who had arrived after us were already getting their drinks and ice cream sundaes. We haven't even had the chance to order yet.

Great place to spend a good time with a good drink

Not recommendable ! Three tables were occupied by a total of eight guests who had already had food and drinks. Nevertheless we were ignored by the waiter. After 20 minutes we politely asked if we could order something, but unfortunately it wasn't possible, but we received cheeky answers, including that he only has one head and two arms. We left the milk bar and will never go back.

If after 5 complaints you finally get your drink after 45 minutes, which is also the wrong one and then you say that again to get a very cheeky answer, then you have come to the right place! The first meal was also the wrong food. The pea soup that I initially ordered wasn't available at all. My neighbor's food was so bad that he ate half of it despite being very hungry. Unfortunately there are no minus stars here, so I unfortunately have to give one star in order to publish this.

What a shame that there is a change of tenant at the Hutzenalm. So Mr. Gartner now receives the trophy for the unfriendly innkeeper in Reit im Winkl. Mr. Gartner is not only impressive because of his unfriendliness, but also because of his incompetence as a host. He is inclined to alcohol like his simple drinking people. As the previous speakers have already mentioned, the furniture is already very worn and dusty, the bright lighting takes away all of the hospitality of the guest room, one should rather say: space. So we went out onto the terrace, from where you can easily watch the nightly goings-on in Reit im Winkl, a plus point. It's easy to endure on the terrace when the tinny-sounding outdoor loudspeaker fails to do its job, as does the service staff. In order to get your happiness, or rather to get food and drinks, you go into the dining room yourself and try to lure the service staff outside. The drinks are then surprisingly quicker at the table. Anything called a cocktail is more of a wild affair than a cocktail. Of course you can say that you shouldn't have such high expectations in the village. True. But I also know it differently from the town. I advise Mr. Gartner to attend an IHK course or find out on YouTube how to prepare the standard cocktails. The martini was watered down by ice cubes that don't belong there, maraschino was also slightly overrepresented. The Cosmopolitan is certainly sweet enough for its target group, but I found it more of a pissing shower that would knock any diabetic's socks off. Luckily we didn't even dare to approach the food. To order another drink you went back into the room, you sat expectantly and patiently in front of the landlord, who then put down his beer with an annoyed sigh and then took the order. What was pleasing about this evening was the settlement. Of course, you went back into the room to pay, because the sparsely represented service staff unfortunately didn't dare go outside the door on this warm spring evening. The innkeeper asks again what you had ordered, you name one of the drinks and Mr. Gartner suddenly remembers and conjures a price out of the hat that can never, ever be right. Regardless, €17 for 4 cocktails was definitely appropriate for the quality of the service and the drinks. Like the innkeeper, I say goodbye with this extraordinary greeting “Best times ever”. Whatever that means

It was only after other guests' advice that we visited the milk bar for the first time and we were not disappointed! Super delicious apple strudel, the caramel macchiato was fantastic and the cocktails were spectacular. Next year we will also try the Kaiserschmarrn, which is said to be legendary here. Until then, I can only recommend the milk bar in Reit im Winkl!

Perfect dumplings, especially the cheese dumplings were aromatic and fluffy. Staff very friendly, atmosphere pleasant. The hit is the huge selection of milk mix drinks and actually cocktails with milk. They are absolutely delicious and have a lot to offer. Definitely try it out! Price-performance ratio is absolutely consistent despite the VAT increase!

Unfortunately we “stumbled” in here today due to the rain. Our daughter wanted to order Coupe Denmark, vanilla ice cream with cream and hot chocolate sauce. Only when we asked at the bar did the waiter explain why it couldn't be ordered - they didn't have any chocolate sauce. The gentleman brought drinks on a tray and placed it on our table - we had to distribute them ourselves, the tray remained lying there. I ordered 1x “Heisse Liebe”, vanilla ice cream with hot fruits and cream. The hot fruits were EXACTLY 3 raspberries. These were placed first, at the bottom of the sundae, and everything else on top. I returned it and decided not to replace it. So many embarrassments at once leave you in disbelief. So, in our opinion, it's better to spend your money somewhere else...
