Really good food and friendly, caring staff.

All I can say is, the lamb fillet was VERY delicious, cooked to perfection! It was also beautifully served on a wooden board! A delicious side salad rounded off the meal. The Metaxa sauce could have been spicier, but with a little more salt and pepper, it tasted good (I also passed this on to the chef). Very nice and, above all, friendly staff! The ambiance is also inviting. Ouzo before, ouzo after... that's what makes it fun! We'd love to come back *****

Lovely Greek restaurant in Cologne's old town. We went there on a whim and got a table for two without a reservation. We had an hour to eat. The food came out of the kitchen promptly and hot. The souvlaki was good. The meat wasn't too dry, and the tzatziki was very creamy. The side salad was also delicious. My husband's gyro platter was also very good. The service was friendly and pleasant. We'll be back.

This restaurant is significantly a good choice in the neighborhood. It is also better than most of the Greek restaurant we have visited until then. Grilled liver, meatballs, Greek salad, fava we tasted and really enjoyed. Atmosphere is cosy and interior is well designed, service is really good.

Went based on a recommendation and ordered takeaway. The waiting time was ok, we ordered gyros twice with fries, without salad. Once Bifteki. Unfortunately, it wasn't until we got to the hotel that we noticed that instead of the fries we ordered, the salad we ordered was in there. Unfortunately the gyro wasn't even tasty. I can imagine that the food on site is good, the take away food is a total rip off!! For almost 60 euros, parts of the order weren't there and the rest wasn't tasty. Only Bifteki - that was good.

Ketchup and mayo now cost €1 each. It used to be free...

The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Every single one of them had a bright smile on their faces and were happy to take the time to have a little chat. It was really nice to see how much they care about their guests' well-being. I was served a delicious ouzo as a starter, a nice touch that started the evening perfectly. For the main course I ordered gyros, and I have to say it was one of the best I've ever eaten! The meat was tender and juicy, perfectly seasoned and simply delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and inviting, you immediately feel at home. It is the perfect place to spend a relaxing evening with friends or family. I can fully recommend the restaurant Athen's. If you're looking for an authentic Greek restaurant with great food and warm service, you've come to the right place! I will definitely come back.

Best Greek in all of Cologne and the surrounding area!

Cozy atmosphere, friendly and fast service, good authentic food.

Got a table without a reservation. The food in my case was bifteki with rice. The rice came without vegetables or anything and in the form of a Sheba pack. If you don't know this, it's cat food. The meat was good, filled with feta and tomato pieces (I only know it without tomatoes), but it was delicious. The taste of tzatziki was very good, but unfortunately it was much, much, much too little. When I paid I pointed it out and the answer was --= that's just the way it is. Of course there was no ouzo before or after the meal, a shame 🤔

Warum all die schlechten Bewertungen! Also unser Essen war sehr gut - herrlich weiche Lammkoteletts, tolle Vorspeisen - nix zu meckern. Und trotz voller Hütte einen Platz ohne Vorbestellung bekommen.

We found the restaurant here through Google Maps and were very happy that we were allowed to sit down spontaneously. The service staff was super welcoming. We really liked the chic and cozy restaurant and the selection of food. The food came to the table quickly and was really tasty! The gratinated gyro was a dream ❤️ We also had tzatziki as a starter, but I would have liked a little more tzatziki and less bread. Nevertheless, we were super satisfied, had a nice evening and say thank you! "Unfortunately" we were only in the city as tourists, otherwise we would come back straight away. But we'll be back the next time we visit Cologne :)

The food was tasty, the service and the ambience were also okay. However, the portions were far too small (I had the filled bifteki). You have to order a side dish, otherwise you won't be full. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not right.

Had dinner there with work colleagues in mid-November... Be careful, the online menu doesn't match the local menu, especially the prices. Also the map on the noticeboard outside is not really true. When this was brought up, the waitress became really cheeky. We then left the restaurant. Really a shame. Salty prices, good is expensive everywhere today. But the biggest impudence was with the tip. Everyone didn't want to tip, but since the waitress apparently didn't have any change, some of them simply rounded up the price.

Wir haben einen sehr netten Abend im Restaurant Athen‘s verbracht. Der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und schnell. Die Mezedes waren sehr lecker, das Lammfleisch köstlich! Nur die Beilagen, d.h. Gemüse und Kartoffelgratin etwas zu fettig. Auch das Ambiente ist verbesserungsbedürftig: die Speisekarte in Folie und die Papiertischdeckchen wirken altbacken. Dennoch werde ich mit Sicherheit wieder kommen: die Vorspeisen und der herzliche Service haben mich überzeugt.

The shop is simply but chicly furnished. The service was very friendly and quick. The food was great and the prices were okay. We could not confirm or understand the negative reviews. Everything was like on the map.

Everything was very lightly seasoned. You could have added some more seasoning...but fries and the meat were cooked to perfection 😋. We'll be back

I have rarely been so disappointed by the service of a restaurateur. The offense of unfair competition is clearly fulfilled here. Various dishes are advertised on the website and on the menu outside the restaurant that are not available upon request. The Hugo was on the menu for 5 euros but then cost 8.90. You could only change to full euros, but it was rounded up to the guest's disadvantage. The service was insulting and rude. We left hungry.

It's been a long time since we've eaten at Athens. Both the restaurant and the service remained as good and warm as we were used to. We were a group of 7 people and almost everyone enjoyed it. For my part, I had the lamb chops, which were perfect. The gyro was also a hit. However, everyone's souvlaki was a bit too hard/done and very little seasoned. The Bifteki was also well received. Unfortunately, none of us enjoyed the espresso afterwards. All in all we ate and drank well. It's definitely worth a visit!!!

Estaban completamente reservados, pero hicieron un alojamiento para nosotros reorganizando una mesa de exposición. Eran tan amables, multilingües y acogedores! Para colmo, la comida era increíble! Mi marido consiguió el filete de cerdo con salsa de setas y arroz, y yo el filete de carne con patatas fritas. La carne fue cocinada a la perfección. La ensalada estaba fresca y crujiente. El vino fue una gran combinación. Sorpresa perfecta para nuestra noche.
