Minimal meat in the portions, a lot of garnish, they don't speak Greek, it used to be owned by a Greek, now he has sold it...low quality food, place that needs renovation, huge waiter's nails that got into the food!

Food very good. Service friendly at first a bit musty. The location is of course fantastic on the Rhine. Gladly again.

I can only recommend. The service is a little weaker, but the kitchen is really great. It wasn't our first time here.

The food was still frozen inside (moussaka). The service staff hardly reacted to it, they just wanted to warm it up again. No apology or anything like that. Too expensive for the bad food.

The pike perch fillet was fried, the rice looked like it had frozen vegetables in it. The small blob of tzatziki is not significant in terms of quantity on the menu, but still delicious. The lettuce did not look freshly cut (pink cut surfaces). After I communicated this, it was acknowledged without much dedication. The stuffed grape leaves had a square slice of cheese on it (interesting and fun). Well... just touristy... the view of the Rhine is nice, but you can have it that way too.

Wir waren heute Mittag hier beim Essen und nicht zufrieden, ein Salat für 14.- Euro, mit matschigen Tomaten und verwelkten Salatblättern. Gewürze, Essig und Öl wurde erst auf Verlangen serviert . Das Hauptgericht von meinem Mann ein Entrecote war ok, mein Gyros war lauwarm und Zäh! Tzatziki oder was das hätte sein sollen war im Geschmack auch nicht definierbar. Alles in allem schlecht gegessen bei wunderschöner Aussicht. Wir werden ganz sicher nicht wieder kommen.

The Greek Restaurant Athens is beautifully located on the Laufenbrücke in Laufenburg (Baden). When the weather is nice you have a wonderful view over the Rhine to the Laufenbrücke and Laufenburg (CH). On the day of the SlowUp Hochrhein, the restaurant was very full. Nevertheless, service was quick and the quality of the food was very good. However, the prices were around 30% higher than the menu prices published on the Internet. An update is more than overdue here. Otherwise, the restaurant is absolutely recommended.

Wir wurden direkt sehr herzlich empfangen und schnell bedient. Das Essen war sehr reichhaltig und qualitativ hochwertig und sehr lecker. Auch der Nachtisch und der Hugo waren wirklich gut. Die Aussicht über den Rhein ist das i-Tüpfelchen und wirklich schön. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

I took a seat outside with a view of the Rhine. There was no tablecloth, no placemat, no flowers, no anything on the table. There were no cushions on the chairs. Actually, from far away it looked like it was closed. The service was very friendly and quick; the food delicious. But the ambience, especially at this beautiful place on the Rhine, was miserable. Sorry, but it doesn't take much to create a nice atmosphere.

Very nice and attentive service staff. The drinks came very quickly as did the appetizers we ordered, which looked and tasted very fresh. The main course was good, but some work could be done on the plate. All in all, a very nice evening with my partner, especially the subsequent walk in the beautiful Laufenburg town of CH and DE.

Nice Greek restaurant with good food and friendly staff. Stopped here for dinner on the occasion of a birthday. The food was great, the staff was very nice and accommodating and the restaurant is also nicely decorated. We sat inside (winter), but outside with a view of the Rhine was certainly a highlight. We will be back!

Went for dinner with 4 people on New Year's Eve. Food was ok, but unfortunately everything was too hectic. There was no time to finish the starter in peace, the next course was already here. Fast turnaround. Unfortunately, the prices on the homepage are not correct either. Salmon on the online menu €18.50 in the restaurant €22.50. Actually a nice place. A pity

We booked this restaurant in Athens 10 days before for New Year's Eve, December 31st, 2023 for four of us and we were very happy to have a nice evening with the family and have a cozy meal on New Year's Eve. After looking through the menu cards, we decided on different food and we also chose number 64 (kalamari rings with rice and salad). After 4-5 minutes, 5-6 breaded calamari rings arrived very quickly. However, there was neither a salad nor rice. I was shocked and looked at my wife and she looked at me. Then I said where is the rest? The restaurant owner and operator heard this because he was constantly listening. He immediately rushed to us and started arguing why he didn't bring the rest. When I said that it wasn't okay to bring something less than what was on the menu, he was rude. The evening had already happened for us and New Year's Eve was over. When we said that we would like to leave, he became even more rude and said that he would throw us out and not let us get up and leave. As a peaceful person, I often go to Greek, Italian and Chinese restaurants and enjoy their hospitality. I don't recommend anyone to visit this restaurant in Athens! Everyone expects decency and a certain amount of politeness. By the way, the restaurant is not run by a Greek. Whatever, it was indecency and no respect for a restaurant guest. The evening started badly but at least we cooked something at home and made ourselves comfortable. There are so many good Greek restaurants in the area around Waldshut and Laufenburg. I would not recommend the Athens restaurant in Laufenburg at all for the reasons mentioned.

We dropped by spontaneously on a Sunday in December. Friendly, uncomplicated and warm. This is how we were received. We have eaten at "Athens" many times and, as always, it was great. Good price/performance ratio. Always a better choice instead of fast food and healthier and cheaper! Just eat something small that isn't sausages or schnitzel. They are also very friendly if you just need to go to the toilet without eating. Overall, we've been there x times, both just the two of us and with family, and it's always been a culinary experience.

Very romantic to eat here in the summer evening. You sit outside under old chestnut trees with a wonderful view of the Rhine, the old Rhine bridge and the Swiss Laufenburg. The staff is very friendly and the food was of the best quality and very tasty. Thank you for the lovely evening with you and we are already looking forward to the next time.

Sehr sauberes und klares Design im Griechischen Stil eingerichtetes Restaurant. Freundlich wurden wir vom Personal empfangen. Sehr schnell wurde unsere Bestellung gebracht. Als Vorspeise wurde uns ein Salat gebracht, dieser war geschmacklich sehr gut. Essen war reichhaltig und wirklich sehr gut. Kartoffelchips waren für mich sehr gut frittiert und reichlich. Extrawunsch wurde umgesetzt.

Ein ordentliches griechisches Lokal mit einer sehr schönen Lage direkt oberhalb des Rheins an der Brücke zwischen der Schweiz und Deutschland. Das Essen ist gut, aber wir kamen nicht ins Schwärmen, zu kritisieren gab es aber auch nichts. Die Kellner hatten nicht die allerbeste Laune und waren teilweise etwas ungeduldig.

Sehr freundliches Personal aber das Essen war nicht unser Geschmack. Der Salat mit Egli Filet schwamm im Öl auch keine Frage nach dem Salat dressing sondern ebenfalls mit Essig und Öl war auch unser Fehler das wir nicht gefragt haben sind wir anders gewohnt. Bifteki ebenfalls mega voll Öl, Scheibenkartoffeln zu stark frittiert, Beilagensalat sehr einfach leider insgesamt eine Enttäuschung.

Sehr netter Chef. Auch kurz vor Feierabend konnte ich noch Lammfilet mit Kartoffeln bestellen. Schönes Ambiente. Bis zum nächsten Mal.

Busy Saturday lunch as this idyllic Greek restaurant on the German side of bridge over the Rhine had a full house and we were a walk in. Nevertheless they happily looked after us and recommended some lovely plates to share. We took: Melon and Feta Cheese Salad; Tomayo Soup; Grilled Octopus; Oven cooked Aubergine and Zucchini. A glass of Greek White Demestica Wine to accompany our tasty dishes. We sat outside with a view over the river and old town. The interior has been decorated really stylish too.

Ich war heute das erste mal da, das Ambiente und das Personal war Top. Ich hatte gegrillten calemari leider etwas zu wenig gegrilt(vom ausstehen her) sonst war es sehr gut. Ich komme bestimmt wieder.

Sehr sehr lecker! …aber. Wir waren dort zu dritt zum Abendessen und alles war sehr gut, jedoch hatten wir leider keinen Platz mehr draußen bekommen und mussten somit drinnen, direkt bei der Theke das Essen einnehmen. Hier wird über 10 Meter von Bedingung zu Bedienung hin und her geschrieen sobald ein Gast etwas neues bestellt… das könnte man besser Lösung und Rücksicht auf Gäste nehmen, die sich unterhalten. Leider gab es auch keine Ausweichmöglichkeiten für Vegetarier oder Veganer, was die Auswahl sehr einschränkte (im Internet gibt es Risotto und Nudelgerichte die auch Vegetarisch sind). Zudem könnten die Servicekräfte mehr auf z.B. die leeren Getränke achten und den Gästen erneut etwas anbieten. Leider liefen Sie meißt mit Kopf nach unten an unserem Tisch vorbei. Das könnte man ja mal Schulen… Ein großes Lob muss ich allerdings an die Küche aussprechen, das Essen war sehr sehr gut und typisch griechisch. Es war sehr schnell nach der Bestellung auf den Tisch. Besonders zu empfehlen war die Schweinemedallion-Pfanne und die panierten Calamari. Wir kommen natürlich trotzdem wieder.

Very good service, food was good all in all, but a bit pricy

Am 20. Juni 2023 sind wir zu viert einen Teil des empfehlenswerten „Laufenburg 8“ Rundweg zwischen der steinernen Laufenbrücke die Laufenburg (D) mit Laufenburg (CH) verbindet und dem Rheinkraftwerk Laufenburg gewandert. An diesem schönen Erlebniswanderweg, der malerische Einblicke auf den Rhein und die Häuser beidseits des Rheins vermittelt, liegt unweit der Steinbrücke ideal für eine Rast auf der deutschen Seite das „Restaurant Athen“. Wir bekamen einen randständigen Tisch mit Blick auf das pittoreske Laufenburg (CH) und auf die historische steinerne Brücke. Meine drei Begleiter bestellten zweimal „Gyros“ und einen „Hellas Teller“. Mit diesen Gerichten waren alle drei sehr zufrieden. Ich wählte, das außerhalb der gedruckten Speisekarte, angebotene Gericht „frische Sardinen“. Es wunderte mich, dass den Sardinen der Kopf abgetrennt war, das kannte ich so nicht. Nachdem ich, aufgrund meines großen Hungers, fast alle der nicht wohlschmeckenden Sardinen gegessen hatte machte ich auf dem Teller einen Fund, der mir die Sprache verschlug - einen etwa 5 cm langen dünnen Metalldraht (siehe Bild). Ich sprach den Kellner auf diesen Fund an und wollte ihm den Draht zur weiteren Untersuchung geben, er nahm den Draht nicht an, der in der Folge auf dem Kopfsteinpflaster verloren ging. Die nachfolgende Erklärung des Kellners war einfach ungeheuerlich. Das ein Metalldraht im Essen landet passiert öfters. Durch das Reinigen des Grills mit einer Drahtbürste gelangen Metalldrähte auf den Grillrost und können als Folge dessen im servierten Gericht auftauchen. Beim Bezahlen trugen wir dem zuständigen Kassierer die Beschwerde im Beisein des ersten Kellners nochmals vor. Einer meiner Gäste wies unter anderem darauf hin, das mit verschluckten Metallteilen schwere gesundheitliche Gefahren verbunden sein können. Der Kassierer hörte sich ohne erkennbare Reaktion die Beschwerde an. Daraufhin entschuldigte sich der erste Kellner für seine zuvor gemachten Äußerungen. Ich verlies das Restaurant an diesem Abend mit einem flauen Gefühl in der Magengegend und in der Hoffnung nicht unbemerkt ein anderes Stück dieses dünnen Drahtes verschluckt zu haben. Der Fund des Drahtes führte zur Abwertung des Restaurants.

Gilt nur für draussen. Wunderbarer Platz zum Sitzen und sich bedienen zu lassen bei schönem Wetter. Der Chef ist nur bedingt brauchbar im Service (wer ist der Kunde?), der Kellner war jedoch sehr höflich und gut.

also wie soll ich ES sagen, bei jeden GUTEN Griechen gibt es ein Ouzo nach dem Essen & und bei vielen gibt es das sogar noch DAVOR 😜 und hier gab es NIX .... nur eine TEURE RECHNUNG 👎

Wir wollten bei diesem tollen Wetter heute Mittag Essen aber leider Ruhetag Mittwoch -nicht wie angegeben Montag dass ist sehr ärgerlich!!!

Supper restaurant. Top bedienung und sehr freundliche mitarbeiter. Essen war wirklich sehr sehr lecker.

Bei schönem Wetter kann man herrlich draußen sitzen und gutes griechisches Essen genießen. Der Innenbereich de Restaurants ist auch ansprechend gestaltet. Die Speisekarte bietet für jeden etwas aus der griechischen Küche. Die Preise sind ok, nicht zu hoch. Der Service ist flott und freundlich.
