Restaurant Apollon in Dortmund

We ate at Apollon again today and, as always, were delighted with the service and atmosphere. We can therefore wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

Great service, outstanding food, and a very pleasant atmosphere! We felt completely at home and will definitely be back. The value for money is absolutely reasonable, and the selection of traditional Greek dishes is huge. Highly recommended! 🇬🇷🍷

We've visited the Apollon three times now with four people, and we all have a very mixed impression. The first time, everything was great: prices were reasonable, the food was very tasty, portions were good, and service was fast and friendly. Ouzo was also available on the house during and after our meals. We were very satisfied and had a very pleasant evening. On our two subsequent visits, despite early reservations, we had to squeeze into a table next to the bar. It was very loud, the service was only adequate, and the portions were smaller. The mixed appetizer platter was a joke in terms of value for money. The food overall was delicious, though. We were truly disappointed and won't be visiting the Apollon again anytime soon.

No photos taken. But it was very nice there. It was my first time there. Our children invited us. Our daughter's birthday was a week ago, but they were on vacation at the time. So we celebrated today, October 5, 2025. Everything was fantastic. From the food to the atmosphere.

One of the best Greek restaurants here in Dortmund. Everything was very good. Only the grilled pepperoni could have used a bit more flair.

Outrageous prices for absolutely disappointing quality! Delivery by bicycle over 5 km – the food arrived cold and completely messed up. The gyro was greasy and undercooked, the fries soggy and inedible. The taste was a disaster, and it was way too expensive. We were regulars for years, but after this experience, we'll definitely never go back!

Always a treat. Whether eaten in the beautiful setting or just a quick takeaway. It's always amazing! Super delicious!

The food was very tasty overall, albeit a bit spicy—those who like their food strong will definitely get their money's worth here. The prices are slightly above average, which should be taken into account given the portion size and quality. For families with children, it would be nice to have a little extra—be it a substitute drink instead of the ouzo or something to color and keep them busy. Overall, a pleasant visit, with some room for improvement in terms of family friendliness.

I was there again after 5 years and I have to say, the food tasted really good again. It's improved a lot! I'll be going back more often.

Great atmosphere and delicious food 👍🏻 There were ten of us... and we felt comfortable and welcome 🤗 The restaurant was relatively full, which is why it took a while from arrival to serving (about 80 minutes). That wasn't so great 😳... but we were in great company and had a lot of fun. 😂 And the quality of the food was really great 👍🏻🤗... the wait was worth it. Sitting on the covered terrace was pleasant in the beautiful weather 👍🏻 The dishes ranged from gyros to salmon to salads... everyone enjoyed it and it was subtly seasoned... just as we expected 👍🏻 Price for 2 people including drinks: approx. €74 Restroom not wheelchair accessible, but very clean Street parking is okay

Very tasty food and super friendly service!

We've been coming to Apollon for several years and, until recently, were always satisfied. Everyone is very friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is consistently good. What we no longer like, however, is the pricing policy. We've all noticed that everything is getting more and more expensive, but quietly and secretly, the side salad has also been discontinued. Suddenly, we were asked if we wanted a salad, which had previously always been served before the main course without asking. At first, I assumed this was done so that no one would throw away any salad if someone didn't like it. But then we noticed that the salad subsequently appeared separately on the bill. I'm not sure about the price anymore, whether it was €2.50 or €3.50 for this small bowl of salad. When you add that to the increased prices of the individual dishes, you get sums that, in our opinion, are no longer justified. In addition, they ask for payment methods upfront, and guests paying in cash "sometimes" don't receive a bill, but either just a slip of paper from a pad, or the price is only announced verbally. The reasons for this can only be speculated upon when it comes to "ouzo on the house." We will therefore avoid Apollon for now and look for another Greek restaurant.

Food was quite good but there are better ones here in Lünen

Apollon is like a day on vacation in Greece. Very friendly, cheerful staff who are very attentive.

Goes like this, starter Tzatziki with bread. It was a soft, labry baguette. With tztziki which was poorly seasoned. More like yogurt. Main course Onassy's plate. Portions good, fries delicious. It really wasn't bad. Metaxa sauce is also delicious. Gyros also delicious. But not really better than in a good chip shop. Far too expensive for that. 57€ 2 x main course 1x starter 2 drinks. Conclusion we won't be coming back.

Went there for the first time yesterday on a recommendation. What can I say, I've eaten much better at Greek "chip shops" in Dortmund. The service wasn't particularly attentive either. Price-performance ratio: Too expensive for what you get. My conclusion: once and never again!!!

Addendum: Unfortunately I was very disappointed today. Rump steaks were no longer there (which isn't a bad thing), but then nothing was changed about the price and the chef's plate came without rice and without salad and when asked they said that it was only available as an extra, even though it was on the menu is advertised. In addition, the fries were very salty and the remaining meat was tougher than usual. It's a shame. I thought our visit was fantastic. The ambience is beautifully designed and a comfortable stay outside or inside the restaurant is guaranteed. You will be served quickly and friendly by the employees and can place your order. The portion sizes are very large (hard to manage!) but the quality is phenomenal. The gyros in particular were wonderfully prepared, very crispy and delicate. The fries are also very crispy and not run of the mill like in every other restaurant. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the overall experience offered. A big recommendation throughout!

Unfortunately, regular guests are given more attention than normal guests. It's a shame because there are never fewer than 4 of us.

Today there were three of us there. Before we could order, we were first asked how we wanted to pay - which we didn't like. Otherwise the staff is mostly friendly, but they don't know the basic customs of a service person. The food was very tasty and the calamari rings were freshly prepared and breaded - highly recommended! After being surprised that there were larger portions - we were thrilled and full. There is at least one ouzo on the house, which made us very happy! Finally, the mayo was charged for 50 cents and the waiter had to ask again who had it... that really wasn't necessary given the prices! The starters are relatively expensive and then people pay close attention to the mayo. So we'll definitely come back again because the portion size has improved, the staff are friendly and the food is really tasty - but overall it's not exactly cheap and it wasn't necessary to look too closely at the mayo.

The service particularly stood out, very attentive, friendly and fast. The food wasn't anything to rave about, but it was okay. The starter plate for 2 people was manageable, so I expected more. What was on the plate was ok. The ambience was appropriate for a restaurant. Apollon is on the list of restaurants I will visit again.

It's been a long time since I've eaten so well and seen such great staff, who were always present, but still nice in the background. It's definitely worth going there again and again. The price-performance ratio cannot be criticized at all in terms of the portions and what is offered. Thank you so much for such a great experience and such nice people.

Wir sind gestern durch Zufall in diesem Restaurant gewesen. Da wir einen Ausflug nach Dortmund gemacht haben und abends noch ein Lokal zum essen gehen gesucht haben, hatten wir uns hierfür entschieden. Wir waren beide begeistert. Das Lokal hat einen tollen Einrichtungsstil. Sehr liebevoll bis ins Detail dekoriert. Man kommt sich vor, als säße man im Urlaub im Restaurant. Wir wurden sehr schnell und freundlich bedient. Das Essen hatte uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Salat sowie die Moussaka waren sehr frisch und lecker. Vielleicht fahren wir dafür extra nochmal nach Dortmund.

Da ich schnell etwas Essen wollte, bin ich hierhin gegangen. Inrterieur nichts besonders, dito Service. Als Nicht-Stammkunde wiurd man hier wohl nur geduldet. Das Essen war 08/15 auf Imbißniveau - nichts nenneswertes, an jeder Ecke zu bekommen. Fazit: Kann man, muß man aber nicht. Kleiner Tipp: Vielleicht mal die aktuelle Speise- und Preiskarte ins Internet stellen.

A lot has changed here, unfortunately not to the advantage. Apart from the fact that the prices have increased significantly, the portions have unfortunately also been halved. Otherwise you almost never finish the portions and now you go home almost hungry. Convenience products were used for the salad. This one was very flimsy. The main courses taste good, but the price-performance ratio is not right. The service was rather subpar on the day of our visit. Dirty dishes were not cleared away but left standing, so that the table was completely full when the main courses arrived. The service staff also had to be constantly spoken to because they didn't arrive on their own. The Apollon used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but unfortunately I can no longer say that. The experience is not just based on this visit...

Wir sind wie jedes Jahr zu Weihnachten zu Gast nur müssen sagen waren echt enttäuscht das Preise angehoben werden ist ja ok den Salat hätten sie sich sparen können 3 Happen fertig und alles aus dem Glas da fehlte echt die frische das Hauptgericht halbiert das man hungrig aus dem Haus ging man hat sich wie am Fließband abgefertigt gefühlt 12 Uhr am Tisch trinken essen 12.40 Uhr fertig. Da fehlte echt die Herzlichkeit das alte appollon hat uns besser gefallen man sollte es echt mal überdenken in diesem Sinne einen schönen 2. Weihnachtstag.

Wir sind schon seit Jahren Stammgäste hier und können sagen, dass hier die Freundlichkeit des Personals kaum zu überbieten ist. Das Essen war immer überaus lecker, reichhaltig und qualitativ hochwertig. Die Preisentwicklung in den letzten Jahren war jedoch hoch, aber mit der Qualität und Menge durchaus zu vertreten. Leider hat sich dies in den letzten Monaten stark geändert. Das Essen ist nach wie vor lecker, besonders die Fleischzubereitung und die Vorspeisen. Auch ist die Auswahl und Vielfalt der Gerichte gut. Jedoch haben sich die Portionen teilweise halbiert, die selbst hochgelobten Fries wurden durch Fertigpommes ersetzt und der Beilagensalat wird anstelle frischer Zutaten mit eingelegten Gurken und Bohnen aus dem Glas serviert. Eine Anpassung der Preise erfolgte allerdings nicht, so dass uns das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht mehr ganz so angemessen scheint. Sicherlich ist es nicht einfach in der Gastronomie derzeit und auch zukünftig zu bestehen, aber man sollte nicht alle Stellschrauben gleichzeitig drehen, um einsparen zu können. Es wäre schön, hier wieder zum Gewohnten zurückzukehren. Sicherlich kommen wir auch weiterhin gerne, vielleicht nur nicht mehr ganz so häufig.

Sehr familienfreundliches Restaurant.Geht sogar auf die Wünsche der kleinen Gäste ein .Sehr leckeres Essen und super freundliche Bedienung. Auch das Warten auf das super Essen ist nicht so lang,wie in anderen Restaurants. Jederzeit kehren wir hier gerne wieder ein.

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und zu unserem Tisch begleitet. In diesem Restaurant ist alles sehr schön und liebevoll weihnachtlich dekoriert. Qualität der Gerichte sehr gut, Geschmack top! Der Service ist auch super, Personal wirklich nett. Was aber definitiv zu bemängeln ist... Die Größe der Portionen. Die lässt wirklich zu wünschen übrig. Eigenlich bin ich es von griechischen Restaurants gewohnt das man unter den Pommes weitere Pommes sieht und nicht den Teller. Fleisch hätte auch ruhig mehr sein können. Nur der Preis der ist genau wie bei anderen Griechen. 🤔

Das Essen war für uns Durchschnittlich, aber in Ordnung, nichts zu beanstanden. Der Service hingegen ist einer der Besten, den ich bis jetzt erfahren durfte. Bestellungen wurden zur passenden Zeit aufgenommen Das Essen kam dann auch relativ schnell. Auch auf Probleme mit dem Essen wurde eingegangen und sofort behoben, ohne ausreden oder ähnliches. Wir fühlten uns bei dem Service und dem Ambiente sehr wohl.

Wir waren heute mit unserer (fast) ganzen Familie da essen. Wir waren 13 Leute ein Kleinkind noch mit dabei. Das Essen hat allen gut geschmeckt, es gab für einige Leber Gyros pommes Reis gegrilltest Gemüse viel tzaziki chicken nuggets und bifteki, alles im allem war es sehr lecker, die Leber hat leider keinen so gut geschmeckt liegt aber wohl daran das man es von zuhause aus anders kennt, und jeder bereitet sie anders zu! Der service war top, selten so ein tolles service erlebt, immer wieder wurde nach leeren Tellern oder Gläsern geschaut, und direkt abgeräumt und neue Getränke bekommen. Zum Anfang gab es ein Uzo als Willkommensgruß. Der Nachtisch Wow ich hab noch nie so ein fluffigen Nachtisch gegessen. Es war mit karamell und hatte von der Art sowas wie Tiramisu geschmeckt ,aber ich weiß nicht genau was es war, aber es war ein Traum und ich mag eigentlich gar kein Karamell. Dafür noch 1extra Punkt. Das preisleistungsverhältnis war auch völlig in Ordnung, denn schon alleine das Ambiente war wunderschön, wir hatten quasi einen extra Raum, und es war so eine tolle Ambiente das spiegelt das Restaurant und die Mitarbeiter wieder. Ich würde gerne nochmal alleine mit meinen Mann dort essen gehen.... Wir danken für die freundliche Bedienung und jeder Wunsch der sonst noch erfüllt wurde... Ihr seid ein tolles Team. Danke dafür. 😊

Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Zur Begrüßung gab es einen Ouzu. Ebenso zum Abschied. Essen kam zügig und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Bei unserem 3ten Besuch hat es uns nicht so gefallen. Dieser war abends. Die Kellner sollten ab und zu auch mal ihren Blick durch das Restaurant werfen und gucken ob vielleicht noch jemand etwas bestellen will. Da es etwas voller war hat das warten auf das Essen schon etwas länger gedauert. Was uns aber unangenehm aufgefallen ist das die Portionen ganz schön geschrumpft sind.

Sehr freundliches Personal, auf diverse Wünsche unserer Mädels wurde eingegangen. Das Essen war reichhaltig und sehr, sehr lecker. Gerne wieder!

Das Essen ist gut, keine Frage, aber die Preise sind etwas hoch gegriffen. Selbst in der Innenstadt und in Hombruch zahlt man pro Gericht um die 3 Euro weniger ! Und ein stilles Wasser war nur in der 0,5 Flasche zu haben und kostet 6 Euro , das ist krass und unverschämt . Ich gehe aus diesem Grund nicht mehr hin.

Wir haben heute auf Empfehlung von Freunden erstmals das Restaurant besucht. Wir bestellten eine Grillplatte für zwei Personen und ich muss sagen, das Fleisch war köstlich und in ausreichender Menge vorhanden. Der Reis war exzellent und die Pommes sehr lecker, obwohl die Portionen etwas bescheiden ausfielen – wir bestellten daher eine zusätzliche Portion Reis. Teller, Tisch und Besteck waren makellos sauber. Das Personal war äußerst freundlich und die Atmosphäre sehr angenehm. Die Preise sind zwar relativ hoch, aber angemessen. Ich kann die Bewertung von 4,6/5 bestätigen und empfehle das Restaurant gerne weiter. Wir werden mit Sicherheit wiederkommen.

Alles in allem nur zu empfehlen.

Ein komische Gefühl bevor man die Bestellung aufgeben tut, Wird man gefragt ob man Bar Zahlen kann oder Mit Karte. Nach dem man Gespeist hat und bezahlt hat bekommt man kein Quittung erst nach einem Nachfragen erhält man die Quittung. Das Essen ist zufrieden stellent aber der Preis ist für das bißchen was man bekommt einfach viel zu Hoch

Das Essen war sehr lecker und das Restaurant an sich sehr schön eingerichtet allerdings sehr lange darauf gewartet dass wir bestellen konnten und dann hat auch leider noch etwas gefehlt aber trotz allem weiter zu empfehlen
