Highly recommended, great food, nice service and absolutely dog-friendly

"At the Kochmühle" It is located in Neurod near Ettlingen. It is attached to a campsite. The area is good for walking and hiking. The Kochmühle is relatively new, the design is modern and yet rustic and cozy. A lot of wood was brought in. There is also a terrace. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the schnitzel, the Gordon bleu, and the rum steak with whiskey pepper sauce. Everything was great and tasted very good. It was also beautifully presented. The service was great, almost like being in an upscale restaurant here The menu was presented top-notch. The staff is very friendly. I would like to highlight the schnapps from Scheible The beer is good. The rest is based more on the beverage supplier's range. Like everywhere else, this turns out to be the same and boring. I would recommend that the owner of the Kochmühle sort the drinks menu better and make it more varied. Drinks that make the restaurant special, drinks that are not available everywhere in Abbtal. For this I would choose a better-stocked supplier. We would love to come back...the food and service was excellent. Greetings Alexander

We have never felt so unwelcome anywhere. We were in the restaurant with 2 small children and were treated rudely and rudely from start to finish. Starting with the fact that we were put into a completely empty side room even though the restaurant was hardly busy, after we politely asked twice for a high chair, we were stared at stupidly by the waitress. When I asked if I could order something straight away for my hungry child, the eyes rolled. After the waiter ran away in annoyance, the door slammed behind us. No matter what we asked, they were just annoyed and unfriendly. Obviously children are not welcome. We had to wait 50 minutes for our food even though there was hardly anything going on. If our children hadn't been so hungry, we would have turned back immediately. Service? Pooh!!!!!

The food was OK. The service was very bad. After dinner, when our glasses were empty, we were not asked if we would like to drink anything else. Someone kept walking past and the empty bottles were being cleared away. But the question didn't come up: "Would you like something else to drink?" Everyone else around us was asked if they would like another dessert. Service was very disappointing.

Ate very well. The food came quickly and the service was courteous. The furnishings are rustic in the Black Forest style. Overall, a really good address that I wouldn't have expected in connection with the campsite.

The Kochmühle is a beautiful restaurant. The employees have a great sense of humor and put in an incredible amount of effort and are also very nice and friendly. The food is always excellent and sometimes a little unusual, but always delicious. We had goose with our neighbors and it was simply delicious. But it is advisable to reserve in advance.

I've enjoyed coming here for years, whether just to eat or as a camper. It was always well attended and always delicious. But since yesterday I've been pretty disappointed. We arrived at the drinks we ordered, it took about 5 minutes and the drinks were there. We ordered food and oh wonder it arrived in 2 minutes. We didn't want to eat at a fast food joint. The roast beef, the dumplings, both were pretty cold. The roulades were warm but already very overcooked. It's a shame that people are processed so quickly there today, the Kochmühle loses attention to detail..

Disastrous reservation system!!! Even though all times were available, each of my three reservations were canceled! Please revise the system to avoid disappointments, then we'll be happy to come back.

A very inconspicuous restaurant next to the campsite from the outside. Very lovingly decorated inside. The food was really perfectly prepared. It must definitely be reserved in advance. It is always very busy and therefore you obviously have to have a little patience. Price/performance is absolutely justified.

We stopped at the Kochmühle with a larger hiking group. We had previously discussed the whole thing with Ms. Herforth, also because we were limited in time. The restaurant organized the retreat excellently in every respect. The service was friendly, professional and quick. We ourselves have previously stopped at the Kochmühle for lunch and were thrilled by the quality and selection of the dishes. All in all, five stars for an exceptional, great restaurant in a beautiful location on the Alb. Many thanks to the Kochmühle team.

In addition to a great menu, there are also daily recommendations. We tried (venison steak), very tasty. Several beers on tap and also various non-alcoholic beers. The waitresses were all very friendly and attentive. We had made reservations as guests of the campsite, which turned out to be a good decision on Sunday. We will come back because there are still so many great dishes on the menu that want to be tried.

Very friendly welcome, we had not made a reservation so everything was full from 5:00 PM, we could eat something now and we did, brisket with a potato... this sounds very ordinary but I tell you that it was unusually delicious! Highly recommended for a meal... make sure you reserve in advance because they fill up faster than *** Jonnie Boer 😉

Stopped on our way to Italy. Really good food and incredibly friendly staff. We don’t speak any German but they have been very welcoming. The campsite it’s next to is very peaceful and the whole area is surrounded by trees. A wonderful experience all round!

Food very good. But the price increase is enormous. In addition to the 12% VAT there is at least a 15% surcharge. Portions also shrunk a bit. Also increased with drinks. For a wine spritzer 0.2 (Pinot Gris) Euro 5.20 When making a reservation, whether by phone or directly, the friendliness still has a lot of room for improvement.

Good restaurant directly at/on the campsite. The S-Bahn station is only 200 meters away and therefore easily accessible. The main course and dessert were really good but the highlight was the waitress (she was relaxed, funny and also had a cool cocktail idea). When we are nearby or passing through, we like to eat there. See you soon :o)

We wanted to sit at a small table without making a reservation and introducing ourselves in person. Around 1/3 of the restaurant was occupied. (It's obviously only more visited here in the reviews) The owner's open arms were not intended to be welcoming, but rather to express her indignation. “Yes, and who are you?” came from her mouth several times, which was only open when she didn’t say anything. 😮 I was looking for a dog, but I meant us with a greeting that was as “cringe” as it was somewhat pleasant! 🐶 We were happy to go again. 🚶 Please ban us from entering the house as a precaution! ☝️

A great insider tip! From the outside it looks like the entrance to the campsite. It's really attractive and cozy inside. The advice and service here is very nice and the food is really great! We were all very impressed and will definitely be back!

No star!!! Because I only took a quick look at the terrace and was greeted with "Hey, hey, hey, you'd better report to the restaurant first." And the sound. Craziness. I'm 66 years old now, I eat out a lot and stuff like that, no, I've never experienced anything like that anywhere. As a person from the Palatinate, I don't know anything like that. I didn't go anywhere, didn't speak to anyone, just wanted a nice place in the sun. ??? And I wanted to enjoy a delicious 3-course asparagus dish, which costs a lot of money these days, so that I could invite friends, acquaintances and guests to eat there if I had felt good and the food had been great. Well, there are still so many friendly, nice, high-quality restaurants that look forward to friendly people with hunger and money. 😀

Typical excursion restaurant along the route between Ettlingen and Bad Herrenalb. We were there twice for lunch. The restaurant was always well attended, mostly by seniors. There is a parking lot right next to the restaurant, but it's not enough when it's really full. The daily menu is varied and the prices are quite affordable. However, there is a lack of vegetarian dishes. There is still a need for optimization here. The service was always friendly and attentive.

Great restaurant, very ambitious service, very tasty dishes at reasonable prices. When it's full inside, it's sometimes very noisy as the tables are sometimes very close together - clearly the wrong place for a dreamy candlelit dinner. A large beer garden in summer and a daily menu round off the overall very good impression. Important: reserve in advance!

Yesterday we had lunch at the Kochmühle and since the weather was good, we were able to sit outside, which was really great because the beer garden is beautifully laid out. The menu is really large and offers something for every taste. Our cheese spaetzle was extremely tasty 😋 and our blackheads also liked the vegan curry with fresh vegetables. The friendliness of the staff is also very positive. All conditions were very, very nice and accommodating. We were there with our 1-year-old son and can confidently say that the place is very child-friendly. There is also a small playground and plenty of children's chairs. Were there today, unfortunately we can't rate the food and drink because we didn't even sit down and were hissed at by an incredibly unfriendly red-haired waitress. The colleague was very nice and friendly, but was also barked at right in front of the assembled team for not "moving" us to the front area. So we sit at the front and the lady came, threw the cards on the table and complained that we had to register. I asked kindly in which area the colleague was serving, she said she didn't have to do that and we should go...so we did. One star for the nice service employee. She didn't show any trace of customer friendliness or service, it's a shame, the beer garden was only 20% full and looked very nice.

A typical “Don’t trade a book by its cover”. At a restaurant on a campsite you always expect a better chip shop (for why). I've been positively surprised for the third time now. The food is very high quality and recommended. Waiting time is balanced. Staff neither pushy nor ignorant. A successful evening. Definitely not the last time I've been here.

The “campsite restaurant” is not exactly cheap, but it is very cozy, super tasty and has large portions. Very large selection of dishes, many daily specials outside of the menu. Well known for its excellent quality, therefore very popular. Reservation needed.

We were here on the way back from Italy - we made a great phone call, the space was great - we booked a table straight away, the camping operator did a great job - thank you for that 👍 The restaurant was full, everything was occupied. The service was relaxed and totally pleasant...the food was really good and plentiful. We had a great time in the restaurant and will definitely come back next time we're in transit - thanks for everything and the great food was great...

There were 6 people for dinner. Despite it being a public holiday, everything ran very professionally. Friendly service, fixed ordering, great price for daily meals. Very good quality of food. We were completely satisfied and will come back.

Unusual location for a restaurant with upscale, home-style cuisine located directly at the campsite. Also ideal as an excursion destination, the train stops 300m away. Seasonal dishes and classics, a good mix. The staff is friendly. Free parking in front of the campsite reception. The guest room is warm and cozy. Reservation is recommended!

Inconspicuous from the outside, you don't necessarily expect a nice restaurant with a sunny terrace. The dishes on offer looked delicious to those sitting next to us and we were not disappointed in terms of taste. The friendly service but also the entire team did a professional job. Not cheap in terms of price but definitely justified in terms of performance. Ultimately, the visit to the toilet invites you to stay there for a longer period of time with all sorts of sayings. Definitely not just worth a visit.

Annoyed, unfriendly boss; exposed the family with a small child at the neighboring table in front of all the guests because of the noise level (even though it was very crowded and loud in the dining room!)! It doesn't work at all!

Home cooking. We were surprised at how busy it was, but once the food was brought we knew why. Everyone was very happy with the dishes they chose. From game to rump steak to fish, the menu is manageable and yet there is something for everyone. An absolute recommendation.

I recently went to Restaurant an der Kochmühle and overall had a good experience. The ambience was interesting and appropriate for the season, especially during carnival season. The changing interior design is a cool idea. I ordered the spaghetti aglio olio and found it delicious. My companions had the changing ravioli and the game meatballs with potato salad and were also satisfied. The menu may be small, but that means the quality is kept high. Personally, I found the portions a bit small, so next time I visit I might order an appetizer and a dessert. However, you should pay attention to the prices. The service was friendly and the speed was reasonable. All in all I was satisfied.

We've been there twice so far, always for celebrations. I can only say that both paintings are on point from start to finish. The food was really very good. The atmosphere is nice and entertaining (lots to read, sayings/quotes/jokes) the owners seem to like the signs and stickers with sayings that are everywhere. But it doesn't overwhelm or distract, it's like a little candy for the customers. The wit and charm that is in the Kochmühle is also in the service! As mentioned, you will be welcomed and served in a friendly manner with humor and charm! Everything is very relaxed. So what more could you want? Price performance is top 👍 Recommended!

Went there for a business lunch during the week. Service was very nice and competent. Food was very tasty, good portion and special ordering was no problem at all. Spontaneous guests were still given a spot, but you should definitely make a reservation. Works fine online.

War zum erstenmal bei der Kochmühle und muss sagen aus der Sicht eines Fachmann die Qualität und Preis stimmen nicht überein. Hauchdünne Schnitzel,und komisch schmeckende Rotweinsoße,einmal und nie wieder

Super Bedienung und schöne Location. Essen war gut. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder wenn wir in der Nähe sind.
