We went to the Kochmühle with friends yesterday and were all very satisfied. Even though it was super hot outside and the staff was busy, everyone remained friendly and attentive. The menu is varied and the food is delicious. We'll be back.

The food here is typical beer garden fare. Prices are a bit high for the quality offered. If you're simply looking for a sausage salad, schnitzel, or spaetzle with cream sauce, you'll find it here. The staff seems inexperienced in their interactions with guests, and the occasional inappropriate remark slips out. Many visitors come from the neighboring campsite. As mentioned in other reviews, we were also reprimanded by the staff for our children "running around."

I've rarely experienced such friendly staff. Everyone was on the ball and didn't let the busy terrace get to them. The food was also delicious—good German cuisine, that's all. I highly recommend it.

Great food, the service from the staff was absolutely fantastic. The head waiter, Armin, is a real family-like person; it couldn't be better. The beer garden is fantastic. The only flaw is the owner of the restaurant, who, in short, is very unfriendly. She doesn't like serving people because she finds them annoying, and they are insulted and harassed accordingly. Even if you're unlucky and have contact with her when making a reservation, you won't be welcome. So, if the owner isn't in the restaurant, otherwise, it's not really recommended. This was also the statement of the staff, who apologized for the boss...

A lovely restaurant in itself, with pleasant seating both inside and outside. The food was also delicious. Very dog-friendly. I would actually give it a higher rating, but I value friendliness and hospitality. The manager seems very unfriendly. Be careful if you sit outside and order something multiple times; the older lady doesn't like that, as she'll have to walk several times, which will definitely make a difference. A note about the older man who also served: very friendly and accommodating.

Food is delicious, prices a bit high.

Last night. That was my first visit to the Kochmühle. The service was okay, with a very informal feel, which left a cozy impression. The ambiance at the campsite, reminiscent of the Alb region, is also inviting. But I was hoping for better food. The salmon tartare was a bit dry... but still quite deliciously seasoned. I found the wild herb salad with passion fruit dressing a bit too bold and didn't go well with the tartare. The schnitzel, unfortunately, wasn't crispy; it was soft and mushy... and practically swimming in oil. Perhaps it had been thrown into cold oil while frying or something similar. For the price range, it was inadequate and rather disappointing! The accompanying sauce, however, was literally a dream! Conclusion: Thanks to this experience, I'll reconsider whether I should come for dinner. However, I don't want to judge it based on one meal, as good news always comes first. I'll probably come back and try something else... I just hope it's of the desired quality. There's no accounting for taste, not preparation. PS: Offering a bottle of water that costs 0.75 cents to buy for €6.90 is pretty hardcore.

Very tasty food, good service, a plentiful menu with something for everyone. It's not a budget-friendly restaurant, but the quality is good. Reservations recommended.

We came to Kochmühle based on a recommendation and were totally thrilled. The food was very tasty and good value for money. The service was super attentive and friendly. The ambience is bright and somewhat playful. There are some beach chairs outside. We'd love to come back.

The restaurant is located at the entrance to a campsite. A reservation is necessary, the restaurant is busy for good reason. We enjoyed it very much and felt comfortable.

We went to the Kochmühle for the first time on Friday with 5 people and everyone was thrilled. Great service and very good advice on dishes and schnapps after your meal. We also liked the ambience. Unfortunately there are no pictures of the food, it looked too good so there was no time to take photos. ;-) Everything tastes great. We had 3x the onion roast (cooking point for everyone as requested - perfect) and 2 x schnitzel with fries (2 schnitzel each with delicious gravy). The salads were also all very tasty. Everyone was full and went home happy. The Kochmühle is highly recommended, we will definitely come back. Thank you for the lovely evening.

The food was great. Ordered medium, received medium. Homemade spaetzle and salad dressing were also great. The Alb flows not far from the restaurant. There is a beautiful path for hiking along, from Ettlingen to Bad Herrenalb.

"An der Kochmühle" It's located in Neurod near Ettlingen. It's attached to a campsite. The area is great for walking and hiking. The Kochmühle is relatively new, with a modern design yet quaint and cozy. A lot of wood was used. There's also a terrace. The food was absolutely fantastic. We had the schnitzel, the Gordon bleu, and the rum steak with whiskey pepper sauce. Everything was excellent and tasted very good. The presentation was also beautiful. The service was great; almost like in an upscale restaurant, the menu is presented to you with top-notch dishes. The staff is very friendly. I'd like to highlight the Scheible schnapps. The beer is good. The rest of the menu is more based on the drinks supplier's selection. As everywhere, this turns out to be the same and boring. I would recommend that the owner of the Kochmühle better organize and offer more variety on the drinks menu. Drinks that make the restaurant special, drinks that aren't available everywhere in the Abbtal. I would choose a better-stocked supplier for that. We have never felt so unwelcome anywhere. We went to a restaurant with two small children and were treated rudely and cheekily from start to finish. Starting with us being ushered into a completely empty side room even though the restaurant was hardly busy. After we politely asked twice for a high chair, the waiter gave us stupid looks. When I asked if I could order something for my hungry child straight away, they rolled their eyes. After the waiter walked away annoyed, the door slammed behind us. No matter what we asked, they were just annoyed and unfriendly. Apparently children are not welcome. We had to wait 50 minutes for our food even though there was hardly anyone there. If our children hadn't been so hungry, we would have turned around immediately. Service? Yuck!!!!!

The food was okay. The service was very poor. We weren't asked after our meal, when our glasses were empty, if we wanted anything else to drink. Someone kept walking by, clearing away the empty bottles, but there was no question, "Would you like anything else to drink?" Everyone else around us was asked, including if they wanted dessert. The service was very disappointing.

The food was very good. The food arrived quickly and the service was attentive. The decor was rustic, Baden-style, in the Black Forest. Overall, a really good place, which I wouldn't have expected in connection with the campsite.

The Kochmühle is a beautiful restaurant. The employees have a great sense of humor and put in an incredible amount of effort and are also very nice and friendly. The food is always excellent and sometimes a little unusual, but always delicious. We had goose with our neighbors and it was simply delicious. But it is advisable to reserve in advance.

I've enjoyed coming here for years, whether just to eat or as a camper. It was always well attended and always delicious. But since yesterday I've been pretty disappointed. We arrived at the drinks we ordered, it took about 5 minutes and the drinks were there. We ordered food and oh wonder it arrived in 2 minutes. We didn't want to eat at a fast food joint. The roast beef, the dumplings, both were pretty cold. The roulades were warm but already very overcooked. It's a shame that people are processed so quickly there today, the Kochmühle loses attention to detail..

Disastrous reservation system!!! Even though all times were available, each of my three reservations were canceled! Please revise the system to avoid disappointments, then we'll be happy to come back.

A very inconspicuous restaurant next to the campsite from the outside. Very lovingly decorated inside. The food was really perfectly prepared. It must definitely be reserved in advance. It is always very busy and therefore you obviously have to have a little patience. Price/performance is absolutely justified.

We stopped at the Kochmühle with a larger hiking group. We had previously discussed the whole thing with Ms. Herforth, also because we were limited in time. The restaurant organized the retreat excellently in every respect. The service was friendly, professional and quick. We ourselves have previously stopped at the Kochmühle for lunch and were thrilled by the quality and selection of the dishes. All in all, five stars for an exceptional, great restaurant in a beautiful location on the Alb. Many thanks to the Kochmühle team.

In addition to a great menu, there are also daily recommendations. We tried (venison steak), very tasty. Several beers on tap and also various non-alcoholic beers. The waitresses were all very friendly and attentive. We had made reservations as guests of the campsite, which turned out to be a good decision on Sunday. We will come back because there are still so many great dishes on the menu that want to be tried.

Very friendly welcome, we had not made a reservation so everything was full from 5:00 PM, we could eat something now and we did, brisket with a potato... this sounds very ordinary but I tell you that it was unusually delicious! Highly recommended for a meal... make sure you reserve in advance because they fill up faster than *** Jonnie Boer 😉

Cozy camping restaurant that is also popular with local residents. Tasty food for a reasonable price. Visitors' dogs are also immediately given a bowl of water.

Stopped on our way to Italy. Really good food and incredibly friendly staff. We don’t speak any German but they have been very welcoming. The campsite it’s next to is very peaceful and the whole area is surrounded by trees. A wonderful experience all round!

Tried to reserve online. Shortly afterwards I received an email saying they didn't have a table. After a call to ask if I could come earlier, I was brushed off in an unfriendly manner with the statement: We'll be full next weekend too. It's a shame how you can be so unfriendly

We reserved online, which also worked well. Because a reservation is recommended. The food was once again very good and the service was also very nice and friendly. Our dog got water straight away too! We'd love to come back.

Food very good. But the price increase is enormous. In addition to the 12% VAT there is at least a 15% surcharge. Portions also shrunk a bit. Also increased with drinks. For a wine spritzer 0.2 (Pinot Gris) Euro 5.20 When making a reservation, whether by phone or directly, the friendliness still has a lot of room for improvement.

Good restaurant directly at/on the campsite. The S-Bahn station is only 200 meters away and therefore easily accessible. The main course and dessert were really good but the highlight was the waitress (she was relaxed, funny and also had a cool cocktail idea). When we are nearby or passing through, we like to eat there. See you soon :o)

We wanted to sit at a small table without making a reservation and introducing ourselves in person. Around 1/3 of the restaurant was occupied. (It's obviously only more visited here in the reviews) The owner's open arms were not intended to be welcoming, but rather to express her indignation. “Yes, and who are you?” came from her mouth several times, which was only open when she didn’t say anything. 😮 I was looking for a dog, but I meant us with a greeting that was as “cringe” as it was somewhat pleasant! 🐶 We were happy to go again. 🚶 Please ban us from entering the house as a precaution! ☝️

A great insider tip! From the outside it looks like the entrance to the campsite. It's really attractive and cozy inside. The advice and service here is very nice and the food is really great! We were all very impressed and will definitely be back!

No star!!! Because I only took a quick look at the terrace and was greeted with "Hey, hey, hey, you'd better report to the restaurant first." And the sound. Craziness. I'm 66 years old now, I eat out a lot and stuff like that, no, I've never experienced anything like that anywhere. As a person from the Palatinate, I don't know anything like that. I didn't go anywhere, didn't speak to anyone, just wanted a nice place in the sun. ??? And I wanted to enjoy a delicious 3-course asparagus dish, which costs a lot of money these days, so that I could invite friends, acquaintances and guests to eat there if I had felt good and the food had been great. Well, there are still so many friendly, nice, high-quality restaurants that look forward to friendly people with hunger and money. 😀
