Restaurant "am Flugplatz" in Hamm

It's a great place for a relaxing summer afternoon. A hot or cold drink and the view are top-notch. The food isn't really recommended. (Steak platter & schnitzel platter) The staff has always been friendly.

Luckily, there are one or two busy bees. The food is great as always, and the drinks are nice and cold 👍 👌

It's got something. Planes take off and land almost next to the table. Very interesting here. And the food is good too. I'd love to go back.

We went there for coffee. It was very expensive. A slice of apple pie costs €6. It's significantly cheaper at any other cafe.

Sitting outside is very pleasant, and the chanterelles were really delicious.

Once again everything was perfect.

This restaurant is not suitable for vegans. Despite calling ahead and being told there was something vegan, I was told to choose my own side dish. So, I had to choose between fries, croquettes, and "steak fries" (potato wedges). The blonde waitress was quite nice, and the restrooms are wheelchair accessible, which is why I have to give it one star. Even the non-vegans at the table weren't satisfied; for example, the baked cheese in the appetizer was cold. (The strawberry in the picture is from a different plate.)

Unfortunately, there were no vegetarian/vegan main courses. My food was also cold.

Unfriendly, disinterested staff, poor value for money. Same scene for the third time: despite a manageable number of guests and three waiters on duty for the terrace, we wait a good 10 minutes for our order to be taken. Two simple drinks take a full 20 minutes to be served. Absolutely no hospitality: the drink is placed on the table without eye contact, no hospitable gesture like "Here you are. / Your order X, Y." or anything else. In my opinion and in the opinion of my companions, the manners are abysmal compared to normal expectations for a restaurant business. But while we wait, certain guests are served immediately, greeted with a handshake, and receive their order before a menu is even handed out at our table. I would rate the food as average – probably more appropriate for the price given the airport location. In summary: absolutely not recommended, especially due to the completely inadequate service! You are truly treated hospitably and welcome in Arabic restaurants. - But for the third time, absolutely not here! The only stars might be for the ambiance.

As a Cosmopolitan, I've eaten good steaks in many places around the world, but the Angus fillet here is PERFECT. Not just once: again and again! Vegetarians won't go hungry here, but a glance at the menu reflects the basic attitude of the owners, with which I completely agree: A meal without meat is no meal at all.

A lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere, especially the beer garden, delicious food, and good service. Suitable for the whole family, with a playground right next to the beer garden, wheelchair accessible, and also suitable for larger groups. The menu has something for everyone. And in the afternoon, there's delicious cake. The expansive view of the airfield will make you feel homesick. Overall, it's always worth a visit!

Mario is the best chef, and the team is sensational. Elvis, the head waiter, is perfect. The food is incredibly delicious and super healthy. The best quality Croatian cuisine in all of Hamm. And the atmosphere in the beer garden is indescribable. The expansive view is breathtaking. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Friendly and fast service, tasteful ambience

It took almost half an hour before I could even place a drink order. My food order was placed another 20 minutes later, even though I was told I'd be back right away. After another 20 minutes, the food was served, but unfortunately, in one case, it wasn't as ordered. Everyone was satisfied with the food itself. Unfortunately, the restaurant's prices are at the pain threshold for average earners, and the prices are considerably higher than advertised online. Therefore, we won't be returning. What a shame!

A spot in the sun with a view of the airfield - great. Super friendly service and a really good steak. Really busy when the weather's nice.

We were invited to a confirmation celebration at the restaurant on Sunday. The service and the food were excellent. We'd love to come back. We also had no idea there was such a lovely beer garden here. We'll definitely stop by on our bikes in the next few days.

The restaurant at the airport is highly recommended. We have eaten there several times and have always been very satisfied. The service is particularly friendly, the food is tasty and the prices are reasonable. It's especially nice to sit in the beer garden in the warm season. From there you have a wonderful view of the runway. There is a nice playground for the children. The parking situation is also usually very good. In the worst case, you have to walk a few meters.

Absolutely recommended... very tasty food and attentive service

Despite delicious food, a disappointing visit: 1.5 hours waiting time for a salad plate, wine and Aperol served in a champagne glass (0.2 charged, but 0.1 poured), the glass was knocked over when serving - no apology, no compensation. Service inattentive and overwhelmed. Not recommended.

We ate there for the first time yesterday. And were very satisfied. Nice atmosphere and super great service. It definitely wasn't the first or last time I've been there. Will definitely go there again.

I'm always looking for new places in the region to stop off during my bike tour, which is dog-friendly, and that's how I came across the restaurant at the airport in Hamm. Conclusion: Dogs tolerated, no water available despite warm temperatures. Of course, always take something with you as a precaution. I was there at lunchtime and ate the pirate plate (15€) with fries from the lunch menu. Price/performance 2 stars. Pork steak and minced steak were fried to death, turkey steak was OK, fries were good. With pepper sauce from the bag, just defy the flavor enhancer (what a shame). The negative low point is the accompanying dessert. Cheapest fruit yogurt poured from plastic cups into glasses. It's a shame it's not worth another visit.

Really one of the best restaurants in Hamm. Great atmosphere, you always feel welcome. I've never been disappointed on a number of visits, because here you get good food at a very fair price. The staff is always friendly and especially with Elvis you have the best waiter you could wish for as a guest.

Everything was wonderful! What should be highlighted is the particularly friendly staff, who didn't show any signs of stress. The restaurant was completely full. Due to the many Christmas parties, the volume was quite high. There's nothing you can do about it. Groups are just louder. The food was very good. I had a window seat and a great view of the illuminated Hamm skyline. We'd love to come back after Christmas.

We were there yesterday with 4 people, including 2 small children. It was very crowded as a large party was celebrating there. Nevertheless, the waitress had time to smoke on the terrace before the guests. We found this very disturbing. The staff was very unfriendly. Also to the children. When we wanted to order ice cream, people just looked at us inappropriately. The iced coffee is a complete disaster. Served really hot and tasted extremely like nicotine. Unfortunately we won't be going there again. There is a playground in front of the outside terrace, but unfortunately there is no sun protection, etc. placed there for the children. The children have to play there in the blazing sun, which makes it impossible in warm temperatures. Unfortunately we don't recommend it at all.

A lovely Saturday afternoon with delicious schnitzels

The menu leaves nothing to be desired. Extra requests are no problem at all. Great seating options, inside and outside. For younger guests there is even a playground right next to the terrace. The waiters Elvis and colleagues are a force. Always in a good mood and attentive! The staff, from the kitchen to the service, are experienced and great. Huge dishes for the right price, now impossible to find. I travel constantly for work, and this is definitely one of the few or perhaps even the only one that still serves hearty dishes for the right price. Juicy meat and really good. Salad from the buffet. Restaurant at the airfield with a beautiful terrace overlooking the airport runway. Sitting outside was wonderful. Free parking. Small garden with trampoline and slide for children I recommend this restaurant to everyone. Truly TOP 👍 I hope to return soon

Great location, there is a great playground for children. The service couldn't be better, even during the holiday season with few staff, you receive quick and very friendly service. We were there on a day when it was very busy... Unfortunately we didn't like it at all, very, very long waiting time, 2nd round of drinks after 1 hour just because we actively asked, the food took 1 3/4 hours and then even 1 meal came wrong... All in all not a successful evening...

We often go to the great restaurant with our cycling group. Service is great, food is delicious and plentiful, beautiful large beer garden, with a children's playground and a view of the airport. Everything is just right here...we always enjoy coming by!!

Sehr umfangreiche Karte mit Pizza / Pasta, Fisch, Fleisch und veg. Öffnungszeiten im Sommer ab 11h, nicht erst ab 17h. Der Blick von der Terrasse direkt aufs Rollfeld ist einmalig! Selbst an einem gewöhnlichen Dienstagmittag gab es mehrere Starts & Landungen. Freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service; leckeres Essen, faire Preise & tolle Umgebung. Sehr angenehmes Publikum. Hello, We celebrated our wedding with about 82 friends at Mario's on Saturday June 22nd, 2024. From the advice on choosing the food to the design of the restaurant, everything was perfect. The collaboration with the other companies, such as flowers, music, cakes, etc. was also completely relaxed. Even rearranging the chairs and setting the tables after the free wedding ceremony was completely silent while the guests were congratulating them, so many were surprised that there was suddenly a beautiful table on the terrace for eating.
