It was an experience, stick with it, won't happen again. Like every year before Christmas, I went out for dinner with my team for a social evening. This time we chose Henin, which was unfortunately a mistake. Six to eight weeks in advance, a table for 16 people was reserved and confirmed, with the owner requesting that we also pre-order the food – no problem so far. I then sent a clear email with 16 main courses and 16 appetizers, but received no confirmation. When the day finally arrived, I got a call about six hours beforehand (apparently the email had arrived) because some dishes weren't currently available due to menu changes (oh well, I'll just choose something else). When we arrived in the evening, we were shown to a table where 12 or 13 people could fit, and the rest were standing around, unsure where to sit. After some back and forth with the waitstaff, and of course the question of whether there were suddenly more of us than planned (which there weren't), we were led to the wine cellar. There, we were able to take seats at two rows of tables, nice and close together. 👎 A makeshift (but well-intentioned) solution to the problem: four small tables per row, haphazardly placed at three different heights, giving the wine cellar the feel of a furniture warehouse. The evening was pretty much ruined at that point. Nevertheless, we were looking forward to the meal when, after the drinks arrived promptly, the friendly waitstaff asked if we would like to start eating. Shortly after, one server after another hurried to us with the hot main courses (including the dishes that had been "canceled" 🤷‍♂️). Hmmm... forgot something? ❓... 💡 ...right, the appetizer. When 15 out of 16 main courses arrived after a short time (one was completely forgotten), the question of an appetizer became irrelevant for me. The food tasted good, although the meat on the Heniner mixed grill was a bit dry (my impression, of course; tastes vary). When paying, the staff apologized for the forgotten appetizer, adding, "Well, we weren't charged for it." 🤔 That was a terrible choice of words. With yesterday's average bill of €42-45 per person, one expects more professionalism and a smoother service. The first star is for the ambiance, the second for the service staff, who were friendly but struggled with communication and word choice. If things aren't working behind the scenes, the waitresses can't fix it. (I know the feeling; I also get up every morning to make customers happy.)

I was looking for something online because I/we wanted to go to Sträter's. We wanted to grab a bite to eat beforehand since we had to travel there. It was simply excellent. The atmosphere, staff, and food were all perfect.

The moment you step inside, you feel that cozy, authentic brewery atmosphere – warm, genuine, and with a touch of history. The food was absolutely outstanding: fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. The drinks selection left nothing to be desired – they truly understand what "culinary culture" means here. The service was attentive, friendly, and had just the right amount of humor and warmth. You can tell that they work with passion. In short: A place where you feel completely at ease – whether for a relaxed dinner, an after-work beer, or simply to enjoy a truly delicious meal. The four of us had reserved a table in the wine cellar. The ambiance in the restaurant is exceptionally beautiful. The service was very friendly and relatively quick. The food and the accompanying wine were delicious. We had pork knuckle and various schnitzels. They primarily serve traditional German cuisine. The prices are reasonable, and all in all, it's highly recommended.

Actually, everything in the restaurant is perfect: the service staff stands out with their friendly manner. The staff here has clearly been properly trained, something many other restaurants in Hamm could learn from. The menu, with its roulades, roasts, vegetarian delicacies, and other specials, also offers a pleasantly interesting variety compared to Yugoslavian or convenience food restaurants. BUT – and this is something I find extremely sad: Similar to the Westend, the drink prices at Henin are now completely over the top. I was at Lake Constance this summer (peak season). A 0.5-liter draft Helles beer cost around €4.70–€4.90 – always under €5 (in restaurants directly on the lake). (Outside of the tourist areas, you can get it even cheaper in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria). At Henin, we ended up with €6.50. Sorry, but these prices are unjustified. Here in Hamm, we don't have higher labor costs, higher rents, or higher beer prices than in southern Germany (in fact, the opposite is true). I find these drink prices outrageous. Therefore, I'll go there less often and drink less each time.

Very good food, a bit of a long wait for the food, but understandable for a special event. Our service was first-class. The lady (Celine) was always friendly despite the extreme stress.

Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for our food, even though it was very busy. Furthermore, we couldn't order cocktails at 8:50 PM because they apparently ran out of glasses. That's really disappointing for a restaurant of this size.

Even though it was busy, the service was very attentive and friendly. We stopped by the brewery yesterday. We'd been looking for a suitable location for quite some time, and we couldn't have chosen a better location. The brewery was incredibly quaint and cozy. The owners were incredibly friendly and approachable. The beer was delicious, and the prices were absolutely top-notch and reasonable. There's absolutely nothing to complain about. A great evening with friends. The brewery is located not far from the city in an old half-timbered house which is beautifully furnished according to the theme. The service is really worth mentioning and, in my opinion, is very rare to find these days. After ordering, the food came incredibly quickly, everything was well organized. We all had schnitzel in different variations, sometimes with fries, sometimes with fried potatoes. The portions are harmonious, but in all of them the fries or fried potatoes were not salted and there was no seasoning at all. The fried potatoes were too big and cut too thick, and because they weren't fried properly, they didn't taste that great either. The fries were also simply not in the deep fryer for too long, that could be better. I had a portion with mushrooms, but I also miss the taste. The sauce looked great, but the taste was missing, so only 4 stars for the food.

Had dinner at Henin last night. The food was really good and the service was extremely nice and attentive. The space alone was a bit tight. I had to move away so the person behind me could sit down. And we found it a bit noisy directly above the bar area. This is something to pay attention to if this bothers you. We were full, but I don't think the portion would be enough for someone who is very hungry. In addition, the fried potatoes and ratatouille on the plates were a bit too oily for our taste. We were disappointed with the drinks. The kids had blueberry lemonade. Almost the entire glass was filled with ice, so there wasn't much room for the actual drink. We didn't think the prices were appropriate. A 0.5L beer costs €6.50. So not a full review. Of course you have to say that the prices are on the internet. We just hadn't looked before. So we think that if someone doesn't pay as much attention to the prices as we do, they will certainly be able to enjoy a nice evening with good food in a rustic atmosphere there.

The brewery impresses with a cozy atmosphere, delicious food and attentive service. The food tastes great, especially the classic brewery dishes. However, the prices are quite ambitious - €35 for 2 small roulades is quite an announcement. With a starter/dessert and 2 drinks you quickly reached €70. If you're willing to pay a little more, you'll get a nice experience here.

A perfect day to finish with. This typical beer house restaurant offers the ultimate regional German delight in drinking and dining. All options are available. I just had a typical German blond hop beer with potato soup and sausage, followed by a pork knuckle prepared in the traditional German way, and it was truly amazing. The service was fantastic and definitely deserves more credits. Absolutely five stars!

We were eating at the brewery again after a long time. Booking the table online worked great. We were very impressed by the attentive and friendly service staff. The menu is clearly laid out; everyone can find a delicious dish here, even those with allergies. The dishes were visually very appealing, the portions were really good and they tasted excellent. We had a lovely evening and will definitely be visiting the brewery more often.

Things used to be much, much better with the old owner. Everything has gone down a lot and the prices are outrageously high. Unfortunately it was the last time we'll be in this shop. It's a shame

Unfortunately the food is no longer what it used to be after the change of operator. The schnitzel was quite good, the burger didn't taste like anything, as did the fries, the potato wedges were a bit too salty... Unfortunately a lot of convenience food and very expensive. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. It's a shame, the food used to be so good.

The location is great and it's fun to stay there. The menu sounds delicious and is clear. The service is super friendly and attentive. But unfortunately the food is only mediocre and definitely too expensive. Some sauces are put together clumsily; unfortunately you can tell when there are things in them that actually belong to another sauce. The roast meat was so cooked in the evening that it was almost difficult to chew. The crust, on the other hand, was visible but so soft that it didn't deserve its name. The dessert was a bit bland, but relatively cheap in price. The beer, however, tasted good. I would recommend the shop at any time for a beer or two, but not so much for food.

Went there yesterday with a group of 7 people. The ambience is really great, no matter where you sit, everything has its charm. The service is really good - friendly, fast, accommodating, good-humored, helpful, humorous. The food tastes good. But it's nothing earth-shattering. It is averagely prepared. Portions are ok in size. However, the relationship between portion size, taste and price is not correct. The food is definitely 3-5€ too expensive per dish and therefore more expensive than various other restaurants with the name or in the city center. The same applies to the drinks. We'll probably come back, but if necessary it's more likely to "just" have something to drink, as long as the food prices stay the same.

Went there today at Christmas, very good atmosphere and very good service, everyone in a large group was very satisfied, even the vegetarian veggie burger was great, the other food was also good without exception.

We had already reserved a table for 10 people for Boxing Day at 5 p.m. in mid-October. The time was chosen specifically because I was still on night shift that day and a later time was out of the question. Locally the answer was... no They don't open until 6:30 p.m....Unfortunately it doesn't work. Nothing is available now. I checked the chat history with the family, which I shared with them immediately after the appointment was confirmed.5 p.m....It can Something like that always happens...but it just doesn't work. An apology would have been the least I could have done. My 85-year-old mother, like all of us, was very disappointed. So I can't rate the food and the ambience here... but the service and the way we treat the guests, which is why we won't and can't choose this restaurant recommend. It was nice that another restaurant nearby basically took us in and created a space for us by moving a few tables, even though they were already very full. That's what I call service.

Basically, friendly and courteous service. Unfortunately, at the end there was discussion about 1 beer which we were supposed to pay for but never got. A no-go for 12 people with dinner and drinks. The quality of the food was okay. But it didn't convince us to eat there again. In winter you should avoid the table on the right at the entrance. It's extremely drafty there.

We had our Christmas party there. There were 17 of us and we had our own room with a buffet right next to it. The food was great! Everything on the buffet was fresh and delicious. The service was super attentive, fast and friendly! We would love to come back!

Today was the first time we ate at Brauhaus Henin, but also the last time! Ordered a glass of Lugana and a glass of Syrah which was sour! The next glass was okay, except for the totally inflated price! We also ordered food and it was so terribly bad!!! We ordered two Viennese schnitzels with fried potatoes and then it was brought to the table! What can I say, it looked like fried mashed potatoes with a schnitzel that didn't live up to its name. We often go to restaurants to eat, but what was offered here was a disgrace! The exception was the nice service, who also saw it that way. We won't be visiting Brauhaus Henin again because the drinks and food are completely overpriced and bad!!! Here is my answer to the answer from Brauhaus Henin: We weren't served new fried potatoes like you were. It was only when we criticized the food that the very friendly service dropped €5, which we gave her as a tip! So please stick to the truth!!!!

It is our absolute and undefeated favorite restaurant! We had our first date here, celebrated our wedding here and still enjoy going here to this day. There is something for everyone on the menu. Everything here is handcrafted and prepared with love. The best thing is the home-brewed beer, which you can only drink here. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a medieval tavern and is incredibly cozy. Anyone who knows the game Skyrim will definitely love the ambience. The service is very friendly and always helpful. You always feel well looked after and simply enjoy being here. I'm already looking forward to the next visit ❤️

I was there for dinner on 9/20/24. I have nothing to complain about, the food was very tasty. I had the Jägerschnitzel. the service very good. The staff always had an eye on the table and often asked if everything was OK or if anything else was needed. Overall I can only recommend it

Normandy weeks at the Henin brewery: forget all the mussels you've ever eaten. If you miss out on these mussel dishes, it's your own fault. Simply fantastic!!! The staff is motivated, friendly and the service is perfect, and the ambience in the old brewery is very special! Only recommended!

Went there for dinner yesterday. Had a grill plate. Very tasty and really medium cooked. There was a free portion of mussels as a starter. They should now be included in the menu card. I can highly recommend it.

If a meal is great, but the tarte flambée is almost cold, then it has been waiting for the schnitzel. It can happen, but then you have to react correctly. When a drink from the house was offered (coffee or espresso), and when we asked for a cappuccino we were told that “that” wouldn’t work, we had the coffee “on”. A tarte flambée has to be served directly on the guest's table so that it still tastes good. Every restaurateur needs to know this. If you don't know this, you shouldn't offer the dish. And employees then have to react correctly.

The best restaurant in Hamm and the surrounding area. Consistently friendly and attentive service. Breathtaking rustic ambience. The price for the food is high but absolutely worth the price. All in all, there is nothing to complain about and 5/5 stars are more than deserved.⭐👍

My wife and I were out for a walk when we spontaneously walked past the Old Brauhaus. The cozy design of the outdoor area made us curious, so we went in and were promptly greeted warmly. After a short conversation and a request for a quiet place, a nice gentleman led us to the table. After a pleasant time arriving in this cozy atmosphere, a friendly young woman came and served us. We got a little lost in the atmosphere so that the friendly waitress had to come a second time to take our order, which she forgave us with a friendly smile. When the order came we were pleasantly surprised at how full the plate was. In between we were politely asked about our situation. After we had an appetizing meal, we quietly enjoyed the drinks and the ambience. When paying we were asked how we would like this, we We decided to use the EC card and were greeted in a friendly manner. All in all we were positive, especially after the previous owner. We will definitely come back and recommend it to others.
